(This is an unofficial post meta orp *with permission from zoo* for anyone that would like to join! You do not have to know Hadiyya or Seiji to join in, everyone is welcome.))

While not completely in the dark on what was going on within the grounds of the school, Hadiyya had had no idea the scope of situation. Not until a very frantic jikininki had come knocking on her door. From what she could gather- which, considering his panicked state, wasn't much. -The fog she had seen rolling in across the lawns had completely over taken the area Fright Night had been held at. It wasn't ordinary fog, but the insanity riddled haze that had covered the dreadful island they'd all been stranded on some years back.

Students were being turned into mindless, killing beasts, and more then one had fallen at the hands of one of their friends or classmates.

Frightening news, and certainly unexpected. As soon as she'd been able to calm Seiji she left the dorms, heading straight for a clear bit of lawn outside the thick, all consuming fog. There was no way of knowing what was going on, or how bad things could have gotten, but she would wait, ready to lend a hand to whomever needed it when they all returned. And they would all be returning.. they just had to.

She hadn't come unprepared, either. At her feet rested a rather large case filed with first aid equipment and a small stack of blankets. It wasn't much, but she was determined to help in any way she could.

Conveniently, she also had her FEAR. So if there were any serious cuts or burns she could mend them up enough for more traditional first aid.

Now all she had to do was wait. Which wasn't exactly easy on its own, but was made even harder with a certain ghost bouncing anxiously on the balls of his feet next to her.

--------------

To say the ghost was worried was a very gross understatement. Until now, Seiji had been lucky enough to have never had to witness one of his friends really dying. That changed when Junko dissipated in his arms after a hit from an insanity consumed Xiu. No contest, that had been the single wrost moment of his unlife. It had torn him apart, made made him next to useless, and the only thing he could think of was ut her sincerefinding funding his ghoulfriend. He sincerely hoped he would never have to witness anything like that again, but he wasn't stupid enough to believe it. In all honesty, he was damn lucky to have made it this long without having to watch a friend or loved one die.

Not that death was often a permanent status in Halloween.. At least not usually..

When Junko hadn't quickly returned to their little group, the boil had gotten incredibly worried. Once they'd eliminated the threat, he'd headed straight for the school and the nurse's office in the hopes that Junko would be there. She wasn't. Nor was she at the dorms, or anywhere else he looked.

So here he was, anxiously waiting for any signs of returning students.

Now this just wasn't fair.

Making his way, slowly now, as both he and Aksaja were wounded, Sharra had come onto the lawn, the area blessedly free of the fog, hand still curled 'round his stained sleeve, though it had long-since ceased to bleed, and merely continued to look red and angry. Scanning the area, as they were, after all, searching for friends, familiar faces...survivors. Heh, they all felt like survivors now. Keen sight soon caught the two figures waiting, they with a certain impatience and trepidation...

...but Sharra never even saw Seiji.

The ghost boil might as well not have existed, for all the attention the Nergal paid to him, as the demon had eyes only for the ghoul at his side. He had to catch himself, as he'd very nearly stopped in mid-step to just drink her up with his eyes. He had not forgotten, after all, just how lovely she was, but it had been too long since he'd actually seen her. Noting the preparations that she'd obviously made for the stragglers coming home from battle, Sharra was gladdened. She'd certainly not lost herself...just as attentive to others as always. A complex ghoul, was Hadiyya, and that was one of the very many reasons why one Sharra Eldwaithe was absolutely enraptured by her. The terrible twisting in his chest, the acutely painful downpour of emotions within him made him wonder just how he'd managed to feel so absolutely lifeless these past months.

He was anything but apathetic now.

Though a part of him balked, there was no use in turning back. This was an open area, and he already had his resolve, turning an eye to the dragon at his side, just a momentary flicker before making his way over to the pair, coming to a halt just a few feet from the twosome. "Hey...Yaya..." It was soft, murmured around the lump that had arisen in his throat, accompanied by a weak claw-wave. Green eyes fastened on her features, not even entirely sure that she would meet his gaze. He rather hoped that she would, but should that miracle even transpire, then Sharra was not at all sure where he would go from there.

Lips were parted, a knot furrowing nervously at his brow as he braced himself for impact, tension mounting in his shoulders. Already his mind was grasping in vain for some straw of conversation, something that wouldn't be met with hostility. However 'Hey I just got back and walked into some crazy fog. s**t, how about this weather?' just seemed a touch irreverent. No. The djinn was a princess...and Sharra right now wasn't entirely sure that the apology he carried was worthy. The Nergal himself certainly wasn't at the moment, shirt torn and marred with blood and Jack knew what else, tawny hair askew, smudged and wild-eyed; the spines along his arm flickering in time to the furious patter of his heartbeat.

It just wasn't fair...there she was, gorgeous, an ebon-haired vision with coffee-colored skin and eyes that had always seemed to catch his very soul. A princess and a peasant, seemed the comparison just now, in Sharra's self-condemning flight of fantasy. Jack help him, but he hoped he could say the things he needed said...that this outcome wouldn't damn him further.

Aksaja trailed after Sharra, his own wounds still leaking just a bit as he moved along. Honestly, they probably should have gotten some kind of medical help before stopping to chat - but he'd sensed that the nergal boil really needed to talk back there. Now, though . . . well, here was the situation he'd been dreading staring them in the face. Aksaja had actually spotted Seiji and Yaya before Sharra did, judging by when the other boil kind of stumbled.

Glancing over at him, the lightning dragon offered a look of sympathy that he was certain Sharra didn't see, considering how his gaze was locked on Yaya. The nergal's opening gambit was . . . well, a bit pathetic, to be honest. But now wasn't really the time for critiques. Instead, Aksaja raised a hand to waggle his fingers at the two of them. "Probably a good thing you didn't follow us into there, Seiji," he murmured.

Life's not fair, is it?

No. No it certainly wasn't, but then Yaya had begun to expect the metaphorical wrench that always seemed drop into the gears just when things had started to seem as though they were going smoothly. This time that wrench happened to be about 5'9" with dirty blonde hair and acid child eyes. "Sharra.." It was barely a whisper, but it was enough to catch Seiji's ear. The ghost boil blinked down at her, glanced back towards the demon and dragon walking over the lawn towards them, then winced as he remembered that the djinn hadn't known the boil was back. In his panic he'd failed to mention it, and now the ghoul was glaring daggers up at him as their friends made their show way towards them. "Something you failed to mention?" She all but hissed.

"Um.." It was terribly inadequate, but the two boils were now within earshot and any further conversation between djinn and jikininki was cut off. Lucky thing too, because nothing the foul had to say to the ghost boil would be friendly right that moment.

Instead Hadiyya turned her attention back to the nergal as he came to stop a couple of feet away, clawed hand raising in an awkward wave as he greeted her. Full lips twitched, her frown threatening to grow into something colder as any number of furious reports came to mind, but she bit her tongue.

There was very clear guilt in the shadowed depths of those neon green eyes, and the sight of it, after so many months of not knowing... Well, to say the least it was satisfying, watching him squirm under the heat of her gaze. He deserved it, the discomfort, the rapid pounding of his heart. Hack knows her own was going a mile a minute. She could hear the blood coursing through her ears, and her stomach was flipping uncomfortably. Of course none of that really compared to the anger seething within her that the very sight of her beloved so suddenly thrust upon her.

It was a little much to deal with at the moment, so instead of trying to sift through something appropriate to say to his lack luster getting she dropped her gaze to his arm and the stands on his shirt, then to the drain beside him and his own injuries. The djinn didn't really know how to deal with the sight of Sharra, let alone injured.

It was Aksaja she turned to first, delicate hands hovering over his arm before water spread beneath her fingers, cooling the damaged skin while she fed FEAR into the injury.

Beside her Seiji had gotten over the awkwardness of the situation and had gone back to starting back down the grounds in the direction the boys had come from. "Not like I didn't try. I don't know why, but I couldn't go back. Did you see Junko?" He was just going to pretend the tension in the air wasn't thick enough to choke on. Besides, he was still extremely worried.

On the bright side, she did look at him. Even if it was to glare, her rather luminous gaze seeming to stare right through him and out the other side, not unlike how someone would regard a glass of dirty water that had particularly offended them. Or at the least, Sharra felt that way. Wincing, the blond boil remained in place, watching as Yaya tended to Aksaja, though not without a slight echo of jealousy. But then, the dragon was, at least, a good friend. He hadn't run off and hidden under his relatives' skirts. The Nergal certainly couldn't say as much.

His self-condemning mental tirade continued, brows further knotting as anxiety overwhelmed him. He had no way of knowing just how angry she was if she didn't talk to him, the gaze only enough evidence to support just how properly wrathfull she was towards his behavior (or lack thereof, if you wanted to get specific). And to further damn him, this was neither the time nor the place for such profound and deeply personal apologies as Sharra was keen to make.

He'd wait to see what she did after she tended to Aksaja. Then perhaps he could ask her for a word, just a moment so that he could convey the onslaught of thoughts that swelled within his heart and mind. Though, considering, that might perhaps be too late. Eyes flickering to the ghoul again, he felt a twinge as his gaze lingered a moment at a stray lock of her hair, escaping to fall against coffee-colored skin, a beautiful, rich contrast. It nearly choked him, that realization that he would not tire of watching her...not now, and not ever.

"Yaya...I am so sorry." It was just barely loud enough to be heard, and though Aksaja or Seiji might pick it up, it was meant only for the diligent healer.

He'd thought of her...in the fog.

He always had.

Aksaja watched carefully as Yaya glared at Sharra, wincing just slightly and finding himself very glad that look wasn't aimed at him. Some part of him wondered if it was worth it to have a significant other when things like this could happen. He knew that they were happy a lot of the time and depended on one another and all but . . . he could also see how much this was hurting them both. Then Yaya was stepping over to him, putting hands over the worst wound and starting to heal it.

He made a low noise at that, eyes lidding as the pain ebbed away. "Thank you . . . " he murmured softly. Looking over toward Seiji, he frowned slightly at his saying that he couldn't go back. "I think that she was there in the last battle . . . Thought I saw her a time or two. Everyone should be getting back soon."

"You saw her?" Had the ghost boil's voice just risen an octave? It very well might have considering how worried he was. Though even with the dragon's assurance that the others should be returning soon, Seiji didn't seem to take much comfort from it. He was still staring out beyond the other two boils, looking for any sign of movement that might indicate that anyone was heading in their direction. Maybe they hadn't picked a good spot to wait? "Was she alright?"

Although worried herself for the safety of her friends, Yaya was rather more occupied with patching up the boils. Oh, and let's not forget the near crippling emotional turmoil. Huffing firmly at Aksaja's thanks, the djinn let the water she'd called flow down his arm. Rinsing away some of the blood as it went. It wasn't a hundred percent healed, but it was definitely further along in its recovery then it should have been at this point.

She might have done more for him, but the nergal spoke up again, and his apology had the muscles between her shoulders tightening painfully as she turned to face him once again.

Sorry. No wait- So sorry. She stared up at him, every ounce of fury she was feeling swirling in the glowing blue of her eyes, but when she spoke her voice was oddly level. Self control at its finest. "For what?" It was almost neutral, but even as enraged as she was she couldn't pretend he meant nothing.

The very firm urge to strike him was rising up in the ghoul. Instead she rather roughly grabbed his injured arm, pulling it around so she had better access to it so she could heal him up as she'd done with Saja. Though where she'd had been careful with the dragon she was quite a bit more hasty with the demon boil. The water she called was cold, and as soon as the bleeding was controlled she released him, as if she couldn't stand the touch of his skin.

It was quite the opposite of course, but she was still rather upset, and she was going to stubbornly hang onto that anger. After all, he had neglected to do so much as contact her in nearly a year.

And Sharra quite expected that fury, borne in her gaze, to lash out at him and give him his dues at any moment. It was why the boil still looked as though he was waiting for a blow, physical being just as likely as the proverbial. Her self-control was maddening, it honestly might have been far simpler if she'd screamed at him. That, however, was not giving the djinn enough credit...that would never be her initial reaction, as Hadiyya had far more class than that. Taking in a shaky breath, he wondered how in Jack's name he was supposed to answer that question...to put into words a satisfactory answer for all the things that the nergal had to atone for. He had a moment to think after all, with her fingers on him, and a shudder ran visibly through him at the chill of the water. Oh Jack help him, she was most definitely infuriated with him. A grand, aching part inside the demon wondered if he could even fix this, bridge the gap that he and he alone had created betwixt them.

"For everything..." He began, knowing that to leave it at that would be shallow, careless, the easy way out. "For not being here. For not being enough for you, or even me...for running away and not standing beside you." The blond boil's stance shifted as her fingers withdrew, expression slowly crumbling, "And...for not writing. I should have. I wanted to. But I just sat there and hated myself. I felt empty, useless...and a grand part of me still...still wonders why that's so damn hard to overcome." The boil's words were furtive whispers, acidic gaze affixed to the ghoul before him. "Because I had a thousand things that I wanted to say...the words just wouldn't come."

A pause then, as he had to steady himself with another ragged inhale, rather decidedly glad that he'd managed to break down before, rather than now...rather than here in front of Yaya where it mattered, where he had something to prove to her. He was no longer useless, and he wanted her to see that...and to comprehend just how damnedly sorry he was. "I know how my silence must have seemed. I...know I hurt you." There was a subtle thrum to the words, a hitch in the tone. The words weren't easy to speak aloud, "And that...is what I regret most." Then he could do naught but hold his breath, awaiting her reply, if she had any at all.

It seemed as though they were the only two standing here, and Sharra was ever so secretly glad that Seiji and Aksaja had their own conversation, adding to that illusion. The Nergal always seemed to have things go precisely as he hadn't planned them, after all.

Aksaja nodded slightly to the other boil, trying to sort of tune out the conversation between Sharra and Yaya. It was private, after all. Though he couldn't help but wince inwardly as Sharra spoke to the ghoul, trying to apologize. "For a minute, yea, I saw her. I think she was doing all right," he replied to Seiji. Of course, toward the end of that final battle, he'd kind of lost track of everything around him, just staring at the scene unfolding around him. Red was back . . . it was almost too much to take in.
PostPosted: Thu Nov 01, 2012 9:28 pm

A nerve jumped in the ghouls jaw, the corners of pomegranate lips twitching downward before she reigned in her emotions and turned that crumbling expression of pain and betrayal into something fierce and cold. Glowing eyes narrowing up at the boil as he tried to articulate a proper apology to her. But how could he possibly hope to make things ask better with words alone? Still, she listened, features damn near impassive as her hands curled at her sides. Manicured nails biting into her palms.

It took more will then was pretty to keep from snoring at him as he spoke off hurting her, but that wasn't dignified, not would it help. She couldn't simply let it slide though. "You have no idea how I feel," she snapped, finally letting leak a fraction of the anger she was feeling.

Her lip curled, and she stepped back, away from him. "You don't get it. You didn't back then, before you left, and clearly that hasn't changed!" Even her self control wasn't endless. The brightness of her eyes glittered as her emotions threatened to spill down her cheeks, and she spared a glance to the side towards Seiji and Aksaja as if just remembering they were there as well. Stiffly, Hadiyya backed up another step, crystalline tears finally falling freely as sheet posted the medal boil one last scathing glare before turning on a bare heel and stalking away, back towards the campus.

Things had gotten a little too awkward for the ghost boil to pretend nothing was happening. Once Yaya had made her retreat he turned his attention to the nergal, dark brows raised. "You are planning to go after her, right?" It really want any of his business but Sharra would have to be an idiot not to.

Oh wait... he'd already been one.

Sharra felt the words hit him worse than a slap in the face, taking the sting in a place too deep for physical blows to reach. For as much as he had watched her emotions play out, hearing her ire was far worse. He'd seem that glimpse, that half-second before the djinn had tried to be stronger, where she'd tried to hide the very root of her distress. Ah Jack help him, but he had never felt more wretched than right now.

Taking a deep, ragged breath of air, Sharra's claws creaked as he balled them into a fist, features wearing the most grieved of expressions, his own eyes stinging, though he ignored the threat of tears. He didn't have time for that. Lips compressing into a thin, unhappy line, he took a quick, purposeful step forward. "Yeah. I sure as hell am." His voice was rough, but strangely calm, as though he had conceded a battle somewhere deep inside himself.

And with long, determined strides, the boil headed after her, waiting only moments before breaking into a run to catch up with the tanned ghoul. He couldn't just let her go...in a way, he had once, and it was a mistake he'd not make twice. Not until he'd let her get out all that she'd needed to, and not until he'd said and done everything that must be conveyed. Hadiyya had loved him, and her pain, as tragic a sign as it was now, said that she still did. Human fingers dipped deep into his pants-pocket, to brush across the envelope, the paper rough from handling, that contained the last letter that Yaya had sent him.

"Yaya!" And he called after, as he pelted across the lawn.

He finally had a reply for her, and he couldn't let her go.

Not until she'd heard the answer.

(( Sharra's ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuut~ :V ))

Aksaja's gaze turned inexorably toward Sharra and Yaya as the djinn replied to the nergal boil's words. He winced almost visibly as she tore into him, feeling even more sorry for Sharra than before. Gods, Sharra was just . . . messed up somehow. But at least he was trying to fix it. Hopefully she would give him some credit for that. As Sharra moved past him, he reached out with one hand to brush fingers over the other's arm in silent support. Good luck.

Glancing over at Seiji then, he shook his head a bit. "What d'you think? Will they be okay?" Maybe not the best subject to talk about, but it was on his mind and . . . well, yea.
