Tori had been moping in her room for how long she didn't know since it was harder than she had thought to not having Aklin around a soothing comfort that she just wanted back now. Soon was just not soon enough in Tori's book but she did keep on telling herself to have patience. Sighing a little while putting down the book that she was reading fully well knowing if she didn't do anything else that she might just lose it all over again like the night she had gotten back and had eaten most of the chocolate that she had left. Getting off her bed, Tori pocketed some of the chocolates that were in the bowl on her desk. Taking Aklin's tablet off the bed and putting it into one of her pockets in her coat. Tori just wanted the warm familiar weight around her neck and not in her pocket all cold and lifeless feeling. Heading out of her room did Tori think that this would be a good time to make sure that the rest of her friends were alive since she didn't see them all when getting back. One of the first people that came to mind was Ami and Tori hadn't even talked with Ami since after the horseman stuff. Nodding to herself that checking up on Ami was a good choice of action. Tori knocked on Ami's door to see if her friend was in. "Ami are you there," she said softly trying to keep to herself that she was in a hugging type of mood along with her mind reverting to a younger self a little. While waiting Tori fidgeted with her coat worrying a little that Ami might not be in.

Ami quickly shut the cover of her journal and threw it in a drawer of her desk. She trusted Tori well enough not to read it, but there was always the temptation, so in the desk it went. Not that Tori would have anything to read today. Ami couldn't find it in herself to write anything lately.
The petite huntress scurried to the door and opened it, not making any sort of welcoming motion. Hopefully Tori would be used to Ami's tendencies and realized that it wasn't out of rudeness that she didn't welcome Tori, but caution.
"Hi Tori," she said, surprisingly gentle expression on her face. "What did you need?"

"Hi, Ami..." Tori replied as she fully well knew Ami's tendencies as she tried really hard to suppress her own want of just fully out hugging Ami as that just might not bode well with her friend. "I just wanted to make sure that you were alright, since you know the last mission..." Totally going to say more as a tear escaped down Tori's cheek as she thought of Bix and her weapon and Tori keep telling herself to not cry to not look like a fool in front of Ami but it was dam hard to do so. "I...just wanted to know that you were still alive. So much has happened and I just didn't want to lose any more people that I care for," Tori said slightly nervous as Tori's mind had slightly revered to a younger her and she just looked really pathetic too since she was a little lost without her weapon. Tori didn't even know how to bring up that she had lost Aklin except that she took his smoking tablet out of her pocket to show Ami as she cried a little more. Oh how much more pathetic that Tori got and she was really worried that Ami might think badly of her now.

Ami inwardly groaned at Tori's tears, and the way she looked like she'd fall apart any second. An awkward hand went to pat Tori's back, pulling her into the room in the same motion. It wasn't a hug to say the least, but it was something.
"I'm fine, I'm fine. Shhh, it's okay. Please don't cry." Ami didn't want her to cry because it made her uncomfortable, but Tori could take it as a sweet sentiment.
She sighed and added, "Aklin will come back," she said a little quieter, trying not to spook the girl who'd arrived on her doorsteps in tears. She gestured to her bed, giving Tori a place to sit while she took the chair beside her desk.

Tori kept telling herself that she need to stop the water works since she had already did enough of that in her own room earlier. Tho Tori did calm down a little when Ami did pat her back and Tori was going to take anything Ami was willing to give. But she really did feel like she was falling apart losing herself in all the emptiness that was in her mind and she even thought that maybe it might have been a good idea to have a little stiff drink before coming to see Ami, oh well. She was trying really hard not to Ami that she was. Sniffing a few more times as Ami told her that she was fine that Tori did get the tears under control. "I'm sorry about that... I really didn't want that to happen," Tori replied in a soft voice as she then wiped the tears from her face while she sat down on Ami's bed and setting Aklin't tablet on her lap. "He will?" Tori questioned a little as Tori hoped that he would but there was a small part of her that kept telling her that he wouldn't and was gone for good. "I just keep telling myself he will but sometimes I can't convince myself its true and there is one think that I really scared of is being truly all alone," she added telling Ami one of her true fears that Tori never wants to happen at all. "Its good to see that you are fine, but how have you been its been a while since we last talk," Tori asked quietly since she wasn't sure on how much Ami would talk about since the last time they talk was when they had gotten them all from the horsemen and a little change of subject would be good and not have the water works start again.

Ami stared at Tori with a hollow expression, nothing registering on her face. It was harsh, but Tori was mirroring her feelings, and Ami didn't want to reciprocate.
"You're not alone, hon," she said quietly. It was an empty sentiment, though. Ami knew what it felt like to be truly alone, and it was hard to reassure someone that things got better when they hadn't improved for her lately.
She gestured to the tablet, changing topics. "He's not gone for good. That much is evidence in the tablet placed on your lap," she said. "It's like your connection has been snipped in the middle of the wire. Both parties are unequivocally present, but your coquettish charms won't reach him, and his quips won't reach you." She smiled softly. Such a simple break. "I'm sure the life hunters are working on something to repair your connection."
Encouragement for her friends that rested so gently on her own situation. It was for Tori, but the words didn't apply to her. She was different.

Tori knew that expression from Ami was harsh but she didn't mind as Tori knew that Ami must of had harder life that she did in all aspects since she had been a papered rich kid before coming a hunter and was learning lots of things the hard way. "I know, but it just feel that way especially in my dreams and I just don't want it to stay that way like how it was for me before I became a hunter," Tori replied as she had been having too many nightmares of late and some of them her becoming a puppet. "Another thing I fear is becoming a puppet," she added really softly. Listening to what Ami was saying as Tori looked at Aklin's tablet as it did make her smile a little to what Ami said at her friend. "I hope so," she said as Tori poked the tablet a little but affectionately. "That would be nice and I hope the same for you as well," Tori said but she did feel sad and lonely none the less. 'You are taking this a whole lot better than I am you are stronger than I am," she added since Ami was help her out when she felt so useless.

"I'm not," Ami quickly denied. If there was one thing she was certain of, it was that she hadn't dealt with it well. "I've simply dealt with it longer," she admitted.
A hand went to her chin and she looked away, pulling out her broken weapon. "Look ... the truth is that back in the horseman corridors-" A slight shiver ran down her back, but she ignored it. She wanted to ... TRY being friends with Tori. Friendship. She'd attempt. "I wasn't the only one who came out broken."
She sucked in a breath of air, apprehensive to hear Tori's response. She'd told a few people by now, and it was getting easier day by day. Each time was equally as shaming, equally as nerve wracking, but at least she had a few people with positive responses that she could rely on.

Well in Tori's mind you were Ami stronger than she was being right now and there was nothing that could change that. Since Tori might as well turn into a puppet if she had to deal with a long time without Aklin. So strong to be dealing with a lot of things including missions without your partner. Listening to what Ami was saying and looked when Ami showed her Junpei clip. Tori really wanted to give Ami hugs but she knew that would only end badly. Getting up off of Ami's bed after putting Aklin's tablet back in her pocket that Tori went over to her friends side. "I'm sorry Ami that I couldn't have protected you from being taken," she said it had been something that reached into one of her coat pocket and put into Ami's hand some very nice rich individually wrap chocolate non booze ones but ever so good tasting. "But in time things do mend and Junpei will be back just like Aklin will be back it will just take more time for Junpei even you Ami can mend with time too. I will try my best to help you out in any way I can just as you are with me. You just have to let me know what I can do to help," Tori said as she stood there giving Ami a very warm smile and she truly wanted to help her friend out the best that she could.

Looking at the chocolate placed in her hand made her want to vomit, actually. She knew Tori meant well, so she simply set the chocolates on her desk. Her latest endeavors, with alcohol made her not so inclined to eat the chocolates that Tori had inevitably laced with booze. Her disgust didn't register on her face at all though. She just gave Tori a slight smile and said, "Thank you."
It bothered Ami so much how hard Tori was trying for her. Not due to Tori's kindness, but because of her own inability to accept it. Ami just sat there waiting for Tori to say she'd found another friend, that she didn't need Ami anymore. Yet Tori always came pushing.
Even more annoying was Lex's voice in her head. She wasn't a turtle. She was not a turtle. "I don't think it works quite the same way, but it is a persuasion, I suppose," Ami said, her mind filled with other things. Why was she thinking of him at a time like this, anyways? "Tori ..." she said, somewhat confused by Tori's sickly sweet smile, "Are we friends?"
It seemed a strange thing to ask, but Ami wasn't sure anymore what she considered friend and what she didn't. Before Deus Ex Machina she hadn't had many close friends either- she was a bit of an epicureanist even before Deus. The friends she DID have were close and eternal though. She figured she'd left them all behind in the human world. It didn't occur to her that she'd make some here.

"Your welcome," Tori replied not really knowing that the chocolates made Ami sick. Well with her own endeavors with some of her own alcohol had turned her off of it for now and needed to figure out what other sweet would be good to have around besides chocolate. "Who really knows it might only time will tell, but he will be back for you," Tori replied as they only had hope that there partners would come back eventually. "Yes?" she answered wondering and hearing Ami's question she smile softened. "Yes we are friends Ami," Tori answered with no hesitation at all as it was true they were friends. Tori had been asked stranger things well most of the had been by her weapon. Once her in past Tori never thought she would have true friends in the life she left behind since most of those 'friends' she did have just wanted her status and money. chimarii Just to let you know that Tori's endeavor is her talking to herself to her weapon after getting back from the mission and I haven't finished writing it.

Ami mulled over the words for a while. "Yes we are friends." They tasted strange on her mouth, like trying a food for the first time. The feelings confused her most of all. Ami had had friends back in New York, but she'd never considered a single person here to be a "friend."
Even as Tori said it, she didn't feel much. Maybe a bit of relief, but Ami wasn't sure why. Yet a small part of her, somewhere under the layers of betrayl, was happy. Friends. As much as she wanted to deny the sentiment, she couldn't help but be a little pleased with herself.
"I ... think we are too," Ami said slowly. She blinked a few times. Friends. She and Tori were friends. More quietly, she added, "I appreciate that deeply, Tori." naggeela awww neat! can't wait to read it <3

Hearing what Ami said just make Tori all the more happy and she knew deep down that if Aklin was around he would be happy for her too. Since she didn't have many friends as all of this was still a learning process for her one she was really enjoying despite her own short comings. Tori was a little lost for words to what Ami has said more quietly as it meant so much to Tori and for the fact that she didn't want to mess things up at all. "That means a lot to me and I appreciate it deeply too, Ami," she replied as it was all the truth and something Tori wanted to have forever. Ami, Tori would never betray to at all as you mean a lot to her even more so than even she knew right now and she didn't want to lose any more people that she cared for. chimarii <3333 I will let you know when I get it up then.

Ami sat there for a while, not quite sure what to say. She was really just trying to take in the fact that Tori and her were friends. She had a friend here at Deus. Someone had wormed their way in, though she promised they wouldn't.
She had to fill the silence. "I never thanked you for my room, did I?" A subject change, but a necessary one. "The teamaker, the lights ..." Ami gestured around. "They're wonderful, really."

Despite not having her weapon currently, Tori was really happy since she always wanted to have plenty of true friends and she was making them. A little loss for words as Tori did try and find something else to say but was coming up empty handed. "No you didn't and I be glad that you like it as I didn't think that you deserved to come back to an unfinished room," Tori said glad that Ami liked what she had done even if it hadn't been much, but she still thought to what ever Ami had gone thought with the Horsemen that Ami needed something good to come back to. Tori had been worried that she might have crossed the line in coming into Ami's room to finish things and was glad that she liked it all. "And for the fact making tea with a pot that has been used for coffee makes for very strange tea," she added and one thing that Tori was never going to do again "I'm just really glad that you like it all and not mad at me for invading your personal space," Tori was really happy for doing something right here on this island for once.
