You really cannot go wrong with most of them in my opinion. It's always nice to start with something that's airing currently, that way you can follow it slowly and not get too overwhelmed with. I'm really enjoying Wizard a lot, nothing too complicated so far. I'd say look at any of the Rider series after Decade, being W, OOO, Fourze, and Wizard. Try to stay away from Decade until you have a firm grasp about what Kamen Rider is all about, and some back ground to the different series, otherwise you could end up a bit lost trying to watch it.

I agree with Mashed Potato, the neo Heisei riders are simple but have great stories, and very fun to watch

yeah just from a couple minuets of searching I kinda picked up on it being a bad idea to try and watch decade without having a better understanding of certain other parts of the series. thanks for the advice, thanks.

Old school Kamen Rider is also fun.
If watching Kamen Rider Ichigo is too much for you, I highly recommend Kamen Rider Black (not Kamen Rider Black RX).
Purely on skills and hand-to-hand combat. No super mode, no alternate forms, no weapons

Avalons Dark Shadow ok so ive never watched kamen rider but have been wanting to, what is teh best one for someone new to the series to start with? I started with OOOs. So far, all of the seasons, I haven't had one that I didn't like: 555 is a good one. So is W. I liked Kiva, Den-O, and Fourze. I went from OOOs, and went backwards. If you can, check out the current series, Wizard. It's not as dark as the older ones. Fourze is pretty light, too. The heavy series were 555, W, and to a degree, Kiva. I'm not saying that Den-O is fluff. It's somewhere in between. I just love Ankh from OOOs, so I am biased...

Now, I am watching it's indirect sequel: Agito. I find that I prefer this to Sentai, and Sentai to Power Rangers. I amaze myself... (20 years with Power Rangers, and I cross over into super sentai the last 2-3 years, and lastly, Kamen Rider, the last 1-2 years. I can't seem to go back).
