The world torn asunder by war and famine. Countries destroyed and towns were leveled. Amid the destruction a prophecy was placed that two girls would be born. One brought into the world to save it. The other to end it. Years passed with no sign of these girls until a day two twins were born with powers beyond comprehension. Their parents decide it best to seal their powers and be rid of them until it was safe. Nineteen years later the girls are grown, not knowing of each other or of the power they hold. Guided by guardians, they must decide which it is destined to save their dying world.

Arya looked over at Kyra walking through the dried up lake bed."Kyra we need to get going."She said as she watched her.
Kyra had been lost in thought as she had walked the lake bed. When Arya called out to her she came back to reality. "Alright. But don't we need to find water?"she asked looking around.
"There's none here. We need to keep moving before it gets dark." Arya said as she waited for Kyra.
Kyra sighed as she made her way back up to Arya."I just feel sad seeing the forest like this and the rivers and lakes so barren."She sighed a bit as she looked to Arya.
Arya was like kyras sister even though Arya raised Kyra they acted more like sisters than a mother and daughter. Kyra didn't know Arya was her guardian and would more than likely not find out until its too late.

Alice kicked a rock down one of the holes. She was sure it had once been a burrow for an animal but she really didn't care. Looking around she noticed some tracks and drew her pistols. She followed them to the base of a tree and frowned. "Damn squirrels," she muttered looking up the tree. She didn't see the rodent. A chuckle caught her attention and she leveled her pistols at Trel. "The hell do you want now?" she asked keeping her pistols pointed at his chest.
Trel shook his head. "Nothing. You weren't at camp. Didn't know where you went." He'd been watching the girl from afar since her first guardian Illa died. It was only recently that he made his presence known to her. "You hungry or something?"
"You have a death wish?"
"You haven't shot me yet."
"Yet being the key word," she mumbled. She lowered the gun and fired just in front of his feet. She smirked and started back toward their camp.

Arya wrapped an arm around kyra's shoulder."I know."she said pulling her into a hug."let's find a place to camp for the night and rest."
Kyra nodded as she pulled back and they kept walking. She was glad when they found a place to hide and rest. It was a building that was still standing but wasn't fully stable, but the first floor was stable enough for them.
Arya set up an area for kyra to rest."You rest I'm going to find us some food."
"But Arya.."kyra sighed knowing not to argue with her."fine."

Alice crawled through the damaged wall and slid down the beam to their little area. It was mostly a basement but it would keep the wind off them. She reached for the last of their food and looked at the veggie with distaste.

Arya had been gone for a while but had been unable to find anything to eat. She did manage to find water. She went back and saw Kyra asleep. She smiled as she went and sat by her and covered her with a cloak.
Kyra woke slightly but went back to sleep when she saw it was Arya.
Arya looked at her and noticed the seal was weakening.'This is not good.'She thought.

Trel came down a little after the sun had set to find Alice sleeping beside a fire. He frowned a little as he looked towards the slightly spoiled produce beside her and the fire that had once been a bed. He checked his pockets and found his lighter and knew the girl didn't carry a lighter or matches. Looking closer at the produce he noticed two small fuzzy pieces in an odd shape. The mold had grown to form fingerprints where she had held it. He moved a little closer to her and noticed some of the mark was fading. 's**t!' He looked around, trying to find a reason to get closer to her to better examine the mark. He found a tattered blanket and put it over her slowly.
Alice woke and glared at him, the gun pressing into his stomach. "Something, and I do mean something, better be attacking us," she growled. She noticed the blanket and snagged it from him with her free hand. "Back up slowly and go back to your side of the room, Trel."
Trel, not given much of a choice, backed up to the far wall and sat down. He waited until she was sleeping before crawling back up to the "surface." He sat in the remnants of the doorway looking out toward the sky. "I hope she can end this once and for all," he muttered to himself.

Arya went outside the shelter for a minute as she wrote a letter. She sighed as she pulled a letter out of her bag that was from Kyra's mother and father. 'When will it be time to give her this letter?'She thought as she finished her letter up and found her carrier bird. She attached the letter to it's leg and let it go to find whom the letter was for. She hoped that they would be alive still.
Kyra shifted a bit as she started to wake up and looked around fro Arya."Arya?"She said sleepily.
"I'm here. Go back to sleep."Arya said pushing Kyra's bangs from her face.
The bird flew to where it had last seen Trel and Alice. It soon found Trel's messenger bird and followed it to where Trel was. When it landed in front of Trel it waited for him to take the letter from Arya that talked of how Kyra's seal was weakening and wondered how Alice's seal was holding up.

Trel looked at the bird before taking the letter. He frowned as he read it before taking out a pen and writing a reply. He confirmed Alice's was weakening as well. He heard Alice mumble in her sleep and stopped a minute. He waited until he was sure she was asleep before asking what Arya wanted to do. Should we meet up and travel together or keep them separate? Have you heard from the others? He tied the note to her bird again before sending it on its way.

When the bird returned to Arya she read the letter. She sighed a bit as she wrote back: I'm not sure truly. I feel they should know each other but at the same time they are safer separate. No I have not heard from the others. She sighed a bit as she sent her bird back to Trel.

Trel watched the sky for the bird. Upon its return he read the letter and frowned.
I think it best we tell them. Alice is...not exactly the friendliest and I don't want her accidentally shooting her sister because of this misunderstanding. I haven't heard from the others in a while either. I'm going to try and contact Drian and Rick. Hopefully they haven't gotten themselves killed yet.
He sent the bird back and began the next letter.

Arya read the letter and sighed.
meet tomorrow at an empty lake bed near us? My bird will show you the way to us.
Kyra sat up and rubbed her eyes. She saw the bird leave but didn't ask about it."Were you able to find any food?"She asked as she reached for the canteen and took a small drink.
"Sorry Kyra I wasnt able to find any food."Arya said."We'll look again tomorrow alright?"
"Ok."Kyra said with a small sigh. She hadn't really had any food for a few days and was starting to really feel the affects.

Trel watched the bird land beside him and read the letter. He sighed. He knew trying to convince Alice not to shoot it for food would be difficult but he shook his head. If there was one thing he knew how to do was to scavenge. If he could just find some more edible plants or some unspoiled canned goods they could probably make it through the week. He bound the letter he had written to the others to his own bird. "Find me at the lake bed with reply," he whispered before sending it out.
He heard Alice turn over and saw her on her elbow. "So...who's is that one?" she asked nodding to the new bird.
"An old friend's. We're going to meet up with them."
"We? I believe you mean you. I'm going my own way," she said getting up. "Told you I'd only allow you to travel with me for a few months. Been a few. Now it's time you got your lazy, no good a** away from me." She pulled her jacket on and checked her weapon.
"Without me you'll starve," he stated. "There's only enough food there for maybe a day or two if we split it."
"Who says we're splitting it?" she asked glaring at him. She cocked her gun and went to pick up the meager supplies. "I'm leaving now."
"Alice, we go through this every morning. You'll be back by noon complaining about the heat," he said with a sigh. "Besides if you leave, you won't be able to catch up with me. I won't be here when you get back."

"We're meeting someone today."Arya said as she watched Kyra. She sighed a little wishing she had been able to find something to eat.
Kyra took another sip of water and looked at her."Who is it?" She asked as she waited for a reply.
"You'll see."Arya said as she took the canteen back when Kyra was done. She sighed a bit as she got up and walked to the entrance of their little hideaway. She looked out at the sky."We'll need to conserve our water I think it'll be even hotter today."
"Arya are you alright?"Kyra asked."You seem upset and way to worried."she stood up and walked over to her.
"I just feel bad I haven't been able to find you something to eat."Arya said as she looked at Kyra."But the person we are meeting is much better at scavenging than I am."She smiled a bit at the thought.

Trel watched Alice debate before frowning and grumbling. He watched with slight relief as she dropped the supplies uncerimoniously onto the ground.
"When do we leave," she growled.
"I was hoping to get an early start before it got too warm," he said trying to keep the smug smile from his face. "So...about now should work." He watched her throw her hands up in exasperation before moving to gather up their shelter and move out.
