Two feet on the ground was vastly different from four feet. No one could tell her otherwise.
So used to the sound of claws clicking against rocks, the relative silence of bare feet against the ground was almost deafening. Tail swaying behind her, it was a relief to have both it and her wings to help serve as additional balance points. The concept of walking around without at least some form of familiar limbs was petrifying. Even if she was sorely temped to just... fly around everywhere. It was certainly her main mode of transportation thus far outside the buildings. Great disdain was sent towards how restrictive the halls were. There were even rules against flying in some areas. How cruel!
One such restricted area being the library.
The dragon could have cried to see the massive collection of books when she'd first wandered her way in around mid-day. Of course she knew the academy had one, but she'd been skeptical to how it could compare to some of those compiled by members of her clan. There had been a level of delight to see she would not be in particular want of new pages to get her claws on any time soon. Even if she'd made a few brazen comments to no one in particular when she first walked in, hoping it would have been bigger. Certainly didn't stop her from her awkward exploration.
The Predator Computers were avoided like the plague. Why anyone would be so lazy, type and print instead of taking the time to write... and don't get her started on choosing a cold screen over a book in one's hand for research. There were a few glares sent their way as she bee lined for the bookshelves. Even if her wings had to be tucked into ensure nothing was jostled around her--something that made her feel slightly more off balance. Her hands now and then shot out to grab hold of a shelf to steady herself, scowling and cursing inwardly at each time her legs would wobble or her feet would catch on the ground.
Or each other.
At least amongst the high shelves she was hidden. Agsilved's cheeks were considerably darker as it occurred to her what a sight she must be, fumbling around like a scareling. Straightening, she pressed onward, letting her eyes scan the bindings. Now and then she'd pause, lifting a book from a shelf to skim the pages before replacing it where she'd found it. Great care was taken to keep her claws and ink away from the pages, though more out of respect for the books themselves than any concern of reprimand.
It was in one such moment she glanced further up, peering up at a shelf high above her head. Glistening red letters stood out against black bindings, forcing her to take a step back to try and better read what the title said. Fifty Shades of Blood. Her head tilted, a few dark locks falling around her horns as she stared up at the book. She hadn't heard of that one before. Curious to what was even the content--one could only guess, being in the fiction section--her hand stretched up.... only for her claws to not even skim the bottom of the wooden shelf it sat on. She tried again.
No change.
Placing her other hand on a shelf down on her level, she tried to give herself a boost. She could just about reach it... but no where close to being able to actually grab hold of the novel. Agsilved scowled, tail lashing a little close to the ground. Her wings stretched out a little, knees bending slightly. Fine then, she'd just-- wait. She froze, staring up at the book with a new sense of unease. Flying was prohibited here.
She couldn't fly.
"...for Jack's sake how do they expect smaller ones to get higher books here?" came her soft seething words, a faint incredulous whine seeping into her tone. Chock this up to yet another reason she hated the form requirements.
