There's some debate on what makes a person officially lose their virginity. For many it's as black and white as penetration or intercourse. For others it's oral, manual, or even other acts such as dry humping or visual pornography.
So what's your idea of loss of virginity or simple adultery in the eyes of the Lord?

 To be a virgin you must have not had any sexual intercourse. My reason being, God picked Mary to be Jesus's mother. she was a virgin, she was never penetrated. Granted I don't think people should be going around and doing oral or giving out hand jobs because it does open doors. It isn't sex but it is adultery because it is a sexual act. You should keep those acts between you and your spouse. Also with virginity I count those who participate in gay sex to also be candidates for losing virginity.

If a person has any form of sex, I don't really consider them a virgin.
Though I view virginity as both literal and metaphorical.
If a young man and woman in high school give each other oral sex because they want to stay "virgins until marriage," are they truly still virgins?
Literally, perhaps so. Metaphorically? ...I don't think so. Thus, I see virginity as more than just a woman's hymen in tact, a man who hasn't penetrated a woman; it's also a part of our hearts and what we seek out. That young man and woman are no longer virgins in my mind because of what they've done with each other. Their "wait until marriage" goal has been shot down by their lust and inability to control themselves. Perhaps they are still virgins in that they haven't had intercourse, but in their hearts and with part of their bodies, they've committed fornication.
But that's what most of this younger generation does; they try to find moral loopholes because it's all about "feeling good" and "having fun." I know girls who think they're still virgins because they've only had a**l with their boyfriends. People will try to reason anything into justification in order to clear their conscience of what they're actually doing.

I agree with you and I don't agree. I think somewhere in between the line is blurred into a gray area. I think although no one is legitimately being penetrated through intercourse, you can still give a part of your body and purity away depending on the severity of the act. Maybe textbook definition you may still technically be a virgin but you've given away some of your purity by participating in sexual acts not including intercourse. There are worse things you can do than using your hands on each other but it in no way makes you completely innocent and it's just one less new thing you'll never get the first time experience from when you're married.

I don't like the term "virgin" and try to avoid using it. Partly because there is so much disagreement on what "counts" as a virgin. There's no universal definition of what constitutes virginity.
I also abhor the idea that a person is defined by what sexual acts they have or have not participated in. Sex is something most people will partake in at some point in their life. Like driving a car, or riding a bicycle, but we don't have special words for people who have yet to go through those rites of passage.
By all means, adhere to whatever sexual morals you feel are right, but don't define yourself by it. Many people seem to think that sex somehow changes you profoundly, but it doesn't. It's just a life experience, and if you haven't had it yet, for whatever reason, it makes you no better or worse than someone who has had that experience.
I'd love to see more young people in the future being less concerned about how much they can get away with while still being a "virgin" and more concerned with making choices that they can feel good about.

Or simple adultery in the eyes of the Lord?

If you've have sexual interactions of the oral, hand, or full on kind - in my eyes, that person is no longer a virgin.
And honestly, it shouldn't be how far you can push the "limit" so to speak and get away with it. Follow what God and the Bible say about sexual activity and you won't have to be concerned.
Also the adultery question: God said in the Bible that even if you look at a woman with lust in your eyes you've already committed adultery in your heart... Just avoid that temptations as much as possible and replace those times with alone time with God, in prayer or bible reading. Or with a group of people doing a group activity that will occupy the time.

that's debatable but I would say yes. Because you're in a sexual act with yourself. Your body is not your own. If you are not married then you should not be touching yourself in that manner at all, if you're married, then you shouldn't be doing it either because that's taking away from your mate.
