Flits were trouble. They were adorable and she couldn't seem to get enough of them, but they were trouble. Multiplied. As nosy and noisy as they were cute and cuddly. Not that she really minded terribly - as evidenced by her continuing to acquire more - but goodness! They were always up to something, and that something was occasionally 'no good.' Adi had yet to develop the knack required to keep her pets in line, possibly because she was just too soft with them. 'Strict' was never a word that had described her, and probably never would.

Mazamath wasn't much help, either; he could have been, sure, but most of the time it was much more amusing to watch her deal with their antics. Like now. Stretched out on the lakeshore, he was enjoying the show that was his rider trying to chase down her gold flit.

There was an inherent disadvantage to chasing something that could fly, but that wasn't stopping Adi from making the attempt.

"La! La, get back here!" she pleaded as she pursued the little metallic, who was careful to keep just out of reach. It had a blue ribbon clutched in its front paws, and whenever the girl tried to jump up and grab it, it would dart up and away from her. "C'mon, give that back!"

Optheli had decided to take her green out walking. Ever since the weyrs had combined, the dragon was ever more shyer. Mingling with the other dragons, she was sure, would help Dynith overcome some of her nervousness. Her brother was planning something for the wing so she'd been leaving him alone. It was something of a great secret this time. She smiled amused.

The sound of shouting quickly drew her attention. Oh dear. It looks like she might have a bit of a problem Dynith. Perhaps we should help? Optheli smiled at the flit's antics. Clearly one way to get attention. With a hand on her green's foreleg she strolled forward. Her own flit, a green named Ismay, was perched like a rider on the dragon's back.

"Excuse me. It looks as though you're having a bit of a problem there. Perhaps we can help?"

"La, pleeease- oh!" Adi had been so preoccuppied with chasing her flit that she didn't notice the approach of another rider and dragon, and was rather startled when the greenrider spoke. Even startled, though, she was always happy to see just about anyone, and quickly left off of her pursuit to turn her attention to the other girl. Tellingly, the flit stopped as well, circling above them instead of continuing on.

"I just can't get her to come down," she revealed after taking a moment to catch her breath. "She took my ribbon. Again." She brushed a hand through her hair, loose now that the ribbon holding it back had been snatched.

Mazamath perked up as the pair approached. Things had suddenly gotten even more interesting! Hello, he offered to the green.

"Pardon us. We didn't mean to startle you." Optheli gave a grin. She hadn't recognized the blue or the rider, and wondered which Weyr they were from. "I'm Optheli of Dynith of Trine." She patted the green leg next to her soothingly. "My Dynith is a bit shy around other dragons you see. I was hoping we'd find someone who had a little time to spare socializing."

"However, seeing your problem I couldn't just walk on by." Her eyes glanced toward the gold with the ribbon and back to Adi. "Yes that does seem to be a problem. Does she do it often?" Judging by her tone this might be a fairly frequent occurance.

Dynith had stopped when her rider did. It looked as if Optheli wanted to stay and talk awhile. Carefully she lowered herself to the ground. Watching the two riders until the blue dragon spoke. Oh! What was she going to say? A cheep from her back made her consider. Hers was always telling her to say hi. Shyly she offer to the blue, hi.

"It's okay, I don't mind," Adi said, flashing a bright smile. "I'm Adi of Mazamath, from Malvren." The young woman gestured in her dragon's direction. "And we've got plenty of time! We love socializing."

"She takes anything she thinks is pretty. And since we don't have a lot of stuff, well. It's usually the same things." She stared up at the flit with a slight frown. "I don't mind, really, I mean it's sort of fun and all, but I like that ribbon. I don't want to lose it." It matched Mazamath's hide, and she didn't know how hard it might be to find another, given the state of things.

I am Mazamath, the blue introduced himself, eyes whirling pleasant colors. It's a pleasure to meet you.
