Sahar was fully awake now. All her sleep had long but washed away and she was ready to snag breakfast. Or rather, more breakfast. She had already caught a mouse, but that wasn't very filling. Especially since it wasn't even her who ate it, it was her new friend Dylis who got to munch on the small snack.

Now the duo were tracking down the second course to their meal, a hare. Quick little thing it was, but no match for two jackals. Well, once it started running it wouldn't be. For now Sahar was relying on luck that the hare wouldn't notice her black pelt crawling closer to it. She looked over to her left where Dylis was suppost to be, waiting to see if she was also stalking this prey Sahar had sniffed out.

The small snack her new friend, Sahar, had been willing to give her had Dylis' stomach a little more satisfied than when they had set out. Though they were still going to need to find breakfast; Sahar had to be hungry after giving up her snack and there was no way the mouse was going to stay with Dylis until they got to hunt again.

They were now tracking down a hare that the black and red jackal had picked up the scent of. It was fast but there was no way it would get passed them. Not with the way they had themselves positioned. She noticed the other jackal look in her direction and gave her a small nod to let her know she was still on the hare's scent.

Sahar crept foward a little. The hare's ears twitched, but that was typical behavior in the species. As long as it didn't freeze up and notice it's hunters' presence would this be an easy kill. That was unlikely however, but there was no use in chasing it right away without attempting to sneak up on it.

So she crawled more, more, more... Snap! She had... Stepped on a twig. Now that was familiar. Didn't she meet Neirin that way? Yep, she if recalled correctly she did.

The hare's head, naturally, jeered up and stared in Sahar's direction. She herself froze, hoping the animal wouldn't flee yet, simply think it made a mistake...

Dylis watched as the hare's ears twitched and then turned its attention in the direction Sahar was hiding. Something must have startled it to cause it to look that way. She crept forward, minding her steps carefully. If it made a run for it, she would be ready to chase it down. She kept one eye on the hare and waited to see what it would do.

To Sahar's discontent the hare wasn't taking any chances and started to back up. She sighed, but advanced foward. Her crawling became faster the more the hare reversed, and eventually the little bunny started speed-walking away. Only speed walking wasn't going to save it in the slightest...

Dylis smiled when the hare started to speed walk backwards as Sahar got closer to it. She was glad that she must have been downwind of the tiny thing, or this would never work. As soon as it was close enough, she pounced on the bunny, pinning it underneath her.

Sahar stood up and dashed over to Dylis. "We have a lot of luck today, don't we?" She wagged her tail slightly at yet another catch. She wondered how many animals they'd catch in the pridelands once they got there. Lions probabley didn't go after hares, so Dylis and Sahar could hunt all they wanted. That is, if Dylis joined the pridelands like Sahar was planning too...

"We do, don't we?" Dylis chuckled as her tail wagged happily behind her. She didn't remember the last time she had a hunt this successful. She quickly finished off the hare and tossed it to Sahar. "Here, since I already had the mouse."

A mouse probabley wasn't too filling, but Sahar didn't say anything and instead started her meal. She'd eat half of the hare and leave the good parts for Dylis. Or at least, that was her plan. Instead she ripped off one of the hind legs and tossed it to her friend. "Lucky hare's foot?" She grinned before starting to eat her meal.

The tan jackal chuckled as she sat down while Sahar tore into the hare. When her friend tossed the hind leg to her, Dylis grinned. "Thank you!" She could eat the meat off of the leg and maybe find something to do with the foot itself. Maybe it could be a necklace of some sort. It seemed fitting with the way their hunt had been going, she thought as she tore into the meat left on the leg.

As Sahar ate she began to think about what prey Dylis and her wouldn't be able to catch. Where their great hunting spree would end if they were trying to catch a lot of animals. Well, they could probabley take down an adult goat if they were really determind to have a feast...

She finished licking clean the remaining leg of the hare and started ripping it's back apart. After a few mintues she tossed over a very meat filled corpse over to the other female. "I'm not all that hungry." She said. "You can eat the rest if you want it."

"Are you sure?" the tan jackal asked her friend when she tossed the corpse over to her; there was still a lot of meat on it from what she could see. If she ate that, she would probably get full and be fine until later that day. She wondered if Sahar had gotten full or was just wanting to hunt for something else.

"I'm sure." She said, laying down in the grass. She wasn't very hungry, just excited. Because now that Dylis had entered the picture, Sahar had the oppertunity to do so much more than she had previously. For example, Inia volunteerly would go and hunt for the little fox while she stayed behind and waited for her food to arrive. Now, she could not only hunt with someone, but someone who was around her size. She could talk about non-lion things, things that tiny creatures such as herself found important compare to how the bigger species would think of them.

Ah, so much she could do with another jackal. Sahar had never considered that her lifestyle would improve upon the arrival of another small creature. But it had, and she was thankful that it did. Because if it didn't, why she would still be thinking that her life an hour ago was better than it was now. And that wouldn't be very good for Sahar, now would it?

Dylis nodded her thanks to the other jackal and tore into the meat that was left on the carcass. With as much as there was left on the hare, she wouldn't need to hunt anymore. If they found anything else out here, Sahar could have it to herself or they could take it back as a small treat for the lions. Maybe then they would be happy to have another jackal following them.

Though with what Sahar had told her, she didn't think that the lions would force her to stay behind. Still, however, there was that small chance that they wouldn't be as friendly to her as they had been to the black and red jackal. Dylis tried to force those thoughts from her mind as she finished off her fill of the hare. When she was done, she threw the left over carcass off to the side for any other jackal or other species that would want it before cleaning herself up.

"Do you think we should head back to meet your friends or shall we continue hunting?"

Sorry that it's tiny. I'm not feeling to great so any replies will be smaller than usual or non-existant... sweatdrop

"Well, we could always bring back something for Inia and Neirin to eat." Sahar suggested. Prey seemed attracted to them today so bringing something small, even moderate sized couldn't be too hard.
