PERSONALITY ▄ As a once mother, she cares for any youngling or new mother she meets, offering help if they are alone or have no one to watch over them. She does not like to overstay her welcome though, and often leaves once her help has been given, or a thanks has been said by the other. She will risk her life to save a little one, her heart always going out with the thought of caring for the baby she never got to show her love for.
BACKSTORY ▄ She grew up with a normal life, aspiring to be the best she could, to be the mother she saw her own as. To show love and care and have a family. But until then there was adventure. Adventure to go out and find the one she cared for, meet friends and find new places. Make homes and pretend... Until she found the right one. The one who would show her what it would be like to be a mother. To properly express her joys and care to a foal of her own. And so she was going to. She woke by her mate, the growing young checked on before she went on the walk that fateful day. The intention of a new place to eat in her mind and heart, tail flicking and eyes settling on the trees above her. And then that panicked cry was heard, a vicious snarl. Her own fear set in, her mate being in danger! So she ran, turning on her plans to be sure he was alright.
He wasn't. And the fear set in as the killers turned to look at her. They were still hungry. And she was heavy with children. Her hooves carried her again, as fast as she could go, hurrying away, tears streaming from her eyes. Thankfully there was protection in the form of a male out with a female he was courting. Her fear alarming the pair as she blurted out her tale, sobbing at her loss, eased down to rest by the female while her to-be mate settled at watching the area, fending off the attackers.
Her children were born after that, but the nightmare of the day haunted her. Every night, it was the same, unable to save him, running through the woods, sobbing at his loss until they found her and she was eaten. But she herself always woke up, always watched her babies. The grew well, and she was proud. They learned and played and made friends... but one friend wasn't the best. He was a little crazy, and, under her watch, became the end of her children. They always played by a pond but never went in, and even so, knew of the deepest part... She looked away for one moment, and there was that horrible splash, that painful cry to be saved. "Mommy! Mommy!"
She hurried and got in, splashing over as the offender stood there watching, almost bored as she pulled the two from the water, their bodies limp and soaked... They were settled at the edge, not breathing. She tried, yelled for help, cried as they chilled. As she wept, she found herself alone. More alone than she had ever been. And that feeling, she swore, would never fall upon another mother if she could help it.
Now she simply wanders and helps, somehow still wet from that time, from the loss of her first and only children. She always wishes to have another chance, but doesn't feel worthy of it.
