Briac pouted. He had been officially "grounded" since his stunt at the elephant graveyard with Nkosi the other day. Sure, sure, they might have broken quite a few rules by leaving the pride borders and nearly getting eaten by a hyena, but surely it wasn't something he should be grounded for. The black cub snorted, rolling onto his back so that his belly was up to the sun. He hadn't even seen Nkosi since their adventure. Briac would be willing to bet they were keeping the two in separate babysitting groups on purpose. Stupid nannies with their stupid rules. The worst part was that he had even been separated from his siblings, too! Well, not all them, but Briac had no interest in the giant scuffle-match some of his brothers were currently having. His sisters annoyed him most of the time, but at least they weren't as willing to jump on him all the time. It was odd. Ever since the graveyard, Briac didn't enjoy wrestling as much. The little nips and nibbles he got kept reminding him of the hyena's snapping jaws. He had even had a nightmare last night about. Hyenas. Worst possible creatures on earth, even more so than nannies. Every single one of them deserved to just be wiped out! Briac swiped at the air, blocking out the sun with his paws as he stared up into the sky.

Some cubs would feel bad for being so different from their family... And some would let it get them down... But Eliora never even had it occur to her. The bouncy gold lioness meandered her way through the tall grass of the pridelands, thoroughly bored thus far on this day. She lurked on light feet through the tall grass until... it started to let up. With a sigh, she pushed her way into the short grass and took a look around... Her earthy eyes fell upon another cub a little ways away. She didn't know him herself, but she was young! After all, it had only been a couple of days ago that her mother had let her and her siblings leave the den... The competition for her mother's attention would just have to wait for a long time now!
She padded right up to him, and just as she was about to peek over his head, the male let out a random swipe! She narrowly missed it- she could even feel some of the fur on her face move from the breeze he'd made. She took an extra instant to ensure that another swipe wasn't coming, and after she'd deemed it safe, she jutted her head out above his and looked down at the stranger. "Hey there!" she said with a huge grin, wondering if he'd take a swipe at her, or if he'd just say hi back. "Hey! Did you know you have a moon on your nose?" She asked suddenly, admiring the marking. She really liked it- she hadn't seen anyone else with a moon anywhere on their coat!

Briac started violently, his whole entire body jerking away from the sudden yellow face that had appeared in his line of sight. "Woah!" He rolled away, scrambling to his feet. Who did something like that? Didn't they know that it was rude to sneak up on people like that. Heart hammering in his chest, Briac stared at the offender. It was another cub, smaller and probably younger than he was. Her pink eyes stared back pleasantly, and the red dots on her cheeks made her smile look even bigger than it actually was. The black cub huffed. He couldn't be angry at a girl. His Papa would be very mad at him if Briac got angry at a girl. Sure, they had cooties and all that, but you couldn't ever be mad at them. It took him a moment to remember what the other cub had said to him. He had a moon...on his nose? Frowning, Briac's first response was to wipe his muzzle off with his paw. When nothing came off, the cub scowled with confusion. How could he have a moon on his nose? There wasn't anything on his nose except fur and...oh, his fur. Laughing at himself for being so slow, Briac scrunched his nose, making the crescent marking on his nose crinkle. "You mean this moon?" He asked, words slightly distorted and vision going a little cross-eyed as he tried to watch himself.
