Vonali was sitting in the common room couch staring at her guitar. She hadn't been able to play anything in a while and it was starting to wear on her nerves. She glared at it now debating on if it was being difficult since it'd been a gift from Marc. She sighed and tilted her head to the ceiling with a sigh.
Or maybe it was because Kenny had been avoiding her as well. She hadn't really seen him since they'd broken up at the end of last year. She kind of figured he'd moved on. She didn't call him Casanova for nothing. So here she sat alone in the Common room annoyed and silent.

Attor had slept in which wasn't normal for him, but it was something he did on occasion. He pulled on a button up shirt and a simple pair of pant before trying to brush his hair into something that wasn't a rats nest. It was a some what failed attempt this weather always made his hair look scruffy, but it wasn't a bad look for him.
Amduat, Attor's little snake familiar coiled around Attor's ankle. Seeing as Attor hadn't paid attention to him yet this morning. "Morning Amduat....sorry buddy you know you don't have to wait for me to get up." Attor said with a yawn stretching before heading to the common room.
Once in the room he spotted someone familiar. He smiled slightly and moved towards her. It had rather slipped his mind to seek Von's company. She has seemed busy as he had been of late. Or so that's how it had seemed to him. "Hey Von." Attor called before taking a seat opposite of her.

Vonali's head snapped up and she smiled once she realized it was Attor. She had noticed everyone was busy and she didn't fault them for that. She was the one who choose not to get involved with anything but her contact network.
Not wanting anyone to know truly how lonely she'd been she calmly nodded towards him. " Hey Attor. How goes?"

Attor tilted his head slightly something seemed off even though he wasn't sure just what it was. He put his hand down for Amduat to slither up it from his ankle before looking to Vonali again.
"Much better....Things are looking up." Attor said with a smile allowing his snake to slither from hand to hand. "Sorry we haven't hung out in awhile. I've been a bit distracted." Attor said a slight look of regret on his face. Between school and other things it was sometimes easy to loose track of friends.

Vonali shrugged off his apologies. "It happens. But I'm glad you're doing better. You had me worried there for a bit." She sat up and put the guitar away, it wasn't doing her a bit of good. She looked at the snake appreciatively. "Nice snake. It new?"
Von hated the catch up part of all this she didn't know why people couldn't just pick up where they left off last time. But here she was, she gave him a good looking at confirming that he'd been doing better. "Been practicing a lot?" She could almost see signs of muscle when he moved.

"Yeah I was rather messed up wasn't I, but I'm going home with Tynan for the summer. We're going to Paris for the Christmas break. I'm rather excited about that. I've been before have a few pen pals I would like to meet up with." Attor said with a small smile, he was so happy to not be going home to the heck he had spent the last of his summer at.
"Yes my friend Clover gave him to me. I can confess he has given me some comfort as well." Attor didn't mind being open with Vonali. He felt rather close to her since she had known about him skipping meals and such.
"Yes quite a bit it helps me focus. Clear my head and such......You wanna start boxing with me again? It's been awhile, but I'm back to my regular self again so no more half fainting on you or something." Attor said with a small laugh as he reflected on it though it made him frown a bit.

Von kind of zoned out and nodded, glad her friend wasn't going back to that place. Though at Clover's name her ears almost visibly twitched. " Seems she's quite popular with the Slytherin boys. I have yet to meet the gal."
Dorian, Quil and now Attor she was going to have to seek this girl out and find out what is going on. As he spoke about boxing her face lit up. " That would be awesome. You're the only one who's been interested in such a thing. Everyone else around here are wusses." She smiled and gave him a wink, throwing her feet up on the coffee table now completely relaxed.

Attor blinked giving Von an odd look at how she reacted to Clover's name. And what she said gave him and odd feeling, he didn't know there were other Slytherin boys talked to Clover. In a way he liked Clover a lot though he wasn't really sure why. "Is she?.....She has been my friend for a long time now. You should meet her, she is easy to talk to."
"Great lets start this weekend? One of the teachers gave me a room to practice in when it got to cold outside." Attor smiled happy to see her face light up like that. "I hate to have to agree, but most wouldn't know how to protect themselves without a wand."

Von nodded in agreement. " I agree. What can you tell me about her?" Von tried to act uncaring but it was clear she was curious and slightly something else.
"This weekend sounds awesome. Meet here and you can show me the way?" She gave him a true smile. There were few who got one of her real smiles, mostly because it was such an innocent look.

Attor's eyes fell to his snake Amduat he felt odd talking about Clover to Vonali. The first year he had spent pretending he wasn't friends with Clover meeting her when other Slytherins weren't about. The second year sh had been one of the one's to help him out of his funk. " Well she likes art...I don't tell many people, but I draw too. Dad always said it was something I shouldn't do, but I don't care what he thinks anymore. Anyways she caught me while I was drawing. She just seems to be a nice girl, doesn't judge which makes a Slytherin very comfortable around her." Attor said blinking up at Vonali.
"Sounds like a perfect idea." Attor said with a bigger smile. He was somewhat excited about sending time with Vonali again. Attor placed his snake on his shoulder before putting his hands together. "You sure everything is ok Von, something just seems...different."

Vonali nodded glad he wasn't caring what his father thought of him anymore. " Art is a good hobby. Not as good as music, but still good." She gave him a playful wink reaffirming she was being funny. As he mentioned if everything was ok she looked down at her feet and dropped them off the table.
" A lot of things are different this year. My best friend, Marc, who's also a Hufflepuff artist, admitted he had feelings for me last year and I didn't return them so he's been avoiding me all year. Then I found Kenny and he and I dated but at the end of last year he said he wanted to go our separate ways for the summer and he too has been avoiding me. And finally my best gal friend Violet is absent this year." She took a shaky breath and a few calming breaths.
"Needless to say, I've been doing a lot of thinking this year. Hell I'm doing my own homework." She sat up and looked into Attor's eyes pleading silently for him to understand how important these things were to her. She hadn't said anything before because she didn't want to burden him any more then he already had been but her walls had finally fallen.

"Tch..." Attor made the noise in comment to her jest on art. He waved his hand a bit. "Not all of us are gifted like you Von." His smile soon faded as he watched her feet drop from the table.
He made a face, Attor knew all to well how it was to having feelings for someone and they not be returned. But that was a complicated matter he was not about to talk about with anyone.
Attor waited for her to finish before he got up and sat beside her. "Give Marc some time. Its an awkward situation for sure. He will come around. And same with Kenny sometimes just being friends I guess can be hard after something else you know....I don't know what to think about Violet though. I can see where you could feel concern about all this....."
Attor looked over to her concern clear on his face. "Why didn't you ever come talk to me Von?" He said looking away slightly. "I would think we were close enough for such a thing....right?"

Von blushed and looked to her feet again. " Of course we are, or I wouldn't have said anything now. You just seemed so sad, I didn't wish to burden you with my drama." She offered him a sad smirk before leaning back and staring at the ceiling. " But what if Marc can't handle being just friends? What if Kenny's moved on to one of his many admirers?"
She gave a heavy sigh causing her head to fall against Attor's shoulder. " Am I supposed to beat them up or just let them ignore me?" She turned to look at Attor. " Think the rest of school will be like this?"

"From now on come to me. It doesn't matter what I'm going through I can always be there for a friend." Attor said giving her a serious look it was important to him to take care of those he felt close to. He often wondered how he wasn't a gryffindor up until he remembered he would gut people he didn't know if it meant his business would be more suspenseful.
"Then you will find new friends. And you will find admirers too Von. If people can't get over things then you just have to move on." Attor said with a nod, that's what he was doing after all.
Attor suddenly blushed as he felt Von's head on his shoulder. Honestly he had had some feelings for Von that were pushed down cause she was with others. He looked away when she looked up at him. "Make them regret it. Though there are things far worse then a beating. And maybe....but we can always be friends Von...my mother told me that if you can find at least one friend in Hogwarts you can survive it." Attor said with a nod.

Von turned back to the ceiling her head still against his shoulder. She'd never had feelings for others before, frankly she'd never even given it a thought. Then Vi started going on about guys, and then there was Marc, and Kenny. " What if you don't have it in you to make them pay? What if it hurts to make them pay?"
She didn't really expect an answer to those but reached down and took his hand. " Thanks, I'll try and remember to hunt ya down if I need to." She offered him another one of her rare smiles. " Your mom gave you some interesting advice. Not what mine gave me. 'Von don't screw up.' You're lucky." Vonali was really in a slump if she was allowing herself to sink into family issues.
