Kadryn was excited. Her da and Kral had allowed her to take her mace out for a fight! Now she didn't have to worry about sneaking around behind his back! With a big grin, she sauntered into the forest surrounding Lake Tyluafel looking for a Ysali to try it on. But for some reason, maybe they smelled the remnants of blood n her mace, or maybe she was making too much noise, but she couldn't find any Ysali dragons around. Disappointed, she began to walk back when she saw the silhouette of an Ayrala above the trees. An Ayrala, here? Kadryn was startled. Why would they come here where they don't have the protection of the winds like on Ayr? She shrugged, well it means I get to try my mace out on a tougher dragon.. but bad luck for him....
Stretching her wings, she launched herself upwards as stealthily as she could. She felt the cool thermals coming off the lake and knew that fighting over Serenia would be much easier than the temperamental winds of Ayr. Even though her mace was heavy and tended to slow her down, she knew she had this dragon beat.
As she flew upwards the dragon sensed her and quickly flipped to face her. Then it did something new, something no other dragon had done to her. The Aryala dragon released a small tornado from its mouth at her.
Whoa! I didn't know they could do that! Kadryn thought as she tumbled around inside the tunnel of wind. As she righted herself, she heard a growl from above. She grinned, this one was tricky! And she folded her wings and let herself fall into the tornado. Gripping her mace with all her strength, she forced it outside of the tornado so that it would gain speed and power from the dragon's own attack. She smiled in satisfaction as she heard and felt the sickening crunch as her mace connected. The wind tunnel suddenly stopped, startling Kadryn. As she caught herself she looked down and saw the dragon crash into the trees below, it's head smashed in.
