User ImageName Meaning: "pearl"
Note: I want to make it clear that Jay does not go around telling people her "given name". She hates it with a passion, and there is no reason for anyone other than Finn to call her 'Marjorie' - which he knows better than to do. Please understand, if your character addresses Jay with her given name, they will be met with hostility, distrust, and possibly violence.

Age: Pokemon

Birthday: October 16th (Libra)

Sexuality: Straight

Offspring: None

Likes
- Finn (not in that way)

Dislikes
- Being called Marjorie

Personality:
- In general, Jay is a quiet, introverted Pokemon. While she doesn't mind being in groups, at the end of the day she prefers solitude. She's also very artistic, but lacks the ability to create as much as she'd like due to...well, not having thumbs.

User Image Finn the Ponyta - Jay's best friend. They've known each other for longer than she can remember, and Jay trusts him completely. This is not to say she trusts him blindly...but she knows he would never intentionally hurt her.

"Hey there, Mary, how ya doing?"

The Blitzle winced, her ears laying back into her hair as she slowly glanced around. She'd sworn they wouldn't be able to find her here...she'd specifically picked out the large pine tree because the branches hung heavy and low, creating shadow and what she thought was a perfect hiding place. No, of course...never. She was never safe from the other Pokemon that lived with her family; their mission was to torment her, just because she was the youngest and smallest. It's what the big kids did, after all.

"You trying to hide from us, Margarine?" teased one of the boys, a Grovyle that belonged to the oldest son, as he peaked his head under the branches with a grin.

"My name's Marjorie," the Blitzle mumbled her correction, closing the book she'd been reading and trying to hide it under her front legs.

"That's what he said. Margarine, or would you prefer we call you 'Butter'?" sneered a Fearow as he landed in one of the branches slightly higher than where Marjorie had hidden herself.

The last of the group was a Shelgon, who granted didn't talk much...but his leering eyes creeped out the little Blitzle, and his snickers only egged on the other two as he joined the group under the boughs.

"Please leave me alone," Marjorie whimpered, wishing she could just meld into the tree trunk and disappear. Why did they have to be so mean to her?

"Aww, what's wrong? We just wanna hang out with you," said the Grovyle, coming to sling an arm around the female's shoulder...taking the opportunity of Mary leaning away to snag the book out from under her feet.

"Hey! Give that back!" the Blitzle yelped, starting to stand...and finding herself pinned under the Grovyle's arm, who was swinging the book back and forth by the cover.

"Don't you want to share with us, Margarine?" he chuckled, flipping through the pages with mock interest...before shrugging his shoulders and tossing the book towards the Shelgon.

"Stop!" Mary's voice cracked, tears swelling in her eyes.

The Shelgon grinned, most of his mouth hidden in his shell and just the corners of peeking across his cheeks evilly. He stepped on the book in the dirt, rubbing his face into the pages, wrinkling them and tearing a few.

"Please, stop!" Marjorie pleaded, and it was at this point that the Grovyle shifted, letting the young Pokemon 'break free' and make a mad scramble towards her book.

Just as she was about to reach him, the Shelgon kicked the book skyward, the Fearow gliding down the catch it in his talons. The force of his grab ripped the cover, shredding it and the first few pages that the Dragon-type Pokemon had missed.

"No! S-stop!" Marjorie cried, skidding on the pine needles and falling flat on her face.

The three older boys erupted in laughter, their cackles ringing in the poor girl's ears as more tears streaked her face. Finally, the Fearow handed the book back to the Grovyle, who hefted it in his hand with a wicked, evil smile on his face.

"Meh, books are boring," and with that, he took the book in his hands and tore it straight down the spine.

Mary's heart shattered, and she simply whimpered and cried as the boys began to leave, the Grovyle taking a moment to toss the pieces of her precious book at her. The destroyed pages fluttered about in the air around her, dirty and torn and ruined.

Marjorie stayed there until she couldn't hear them laughing anymore, and laid under the branches still until it started to get dark. Only then did she pull herself to her feet, slowly and brokenly gathering the pages, before timidly making her way back home.

Treasure Hunting
A RP between Jay and Finn

"Come on, Finn," Jay called over her shoulder, ducking under a branch as she made her way through the trees.

Today's adventure included running into a bunch of Magnemites, attracted to the Blitzle's charge, who also had a whole bunch of junk attached to them. Intrigued, the two Pokemon pals had asked where all this stuff had come from, and it was explained to them that the humans had started a junk yard a little ways into the forest. It was to keep any foul smells from polluting the town, but it was riddled with nifty things that the people had just thrown away! Can you believe that?

Well, of course that meant Jay and Finn had to go check it out.

Fin was always two steps ahead or behind his best friend Jay, it was hard to explain his frame of mind as the ponyta was an excitable type. Right now he was pulling things off the magnamites and allowing them to zoom back into place with a loud CLANK. The magnamites didn't seem to mind as he did this repeatedly, the horse then bursting into snorts and laughs with each loud crash. He nearly ran into Jay whilst he was distracted in this manner.

"We almost there Jay?"

The rare smirk crossed Jay's face as she watched her friend, and she sighed and shook her head, doing a two-step to get out of Finn's way while he was distracted from where he was going. Looking up at the Magnemite's, they danced in a happy sort of way...making as if they were pointing in the right direction before taking off into the sky, off on their own adventure.

"I think so...looks like it's just beyond these trees," the Blitzle responded to her best friend.

Sure enough, perhaps after another minute or two of walking...there it was. It was a decent size, and even though it was new there were already small mountains of junk that had been piled up behind the chain-link fence that marked off the property. Sparks jumped between the spikes of Jay's mane as her excitement grew, her normally half-closed eyes popping at the sight.

"Oh...wow, look at all that stuff"

Fin gave a skittering of hooves along the ground as he turned to face the place they had come to. Sure it..didn't smell great but WOW there was just so much stuff...EVERYWHERE. This was even better than the candy they had managed to get at halloween! Trotting forward he nosed a empty box, wondering just what it had been for.

"Wow humans sure do throw a lot of stuff away...what do you think this was for?" He inquired as he continued to nudge the container...that was actually a old fashioned metal lunch box along the ground.

Jay was definitely more careful about where she was stepping, if just to make sure that she wouldn't step into something...unpleasant. Like whatever the glop of mush was that was dangerously close to where Finn was pushing that metal box.

"Don't know," she said, a little sneer on her face, and she nudged her head into his shoulder, trying to get him to go around...whatever that was.

"Please watch where you step, Finn?" Jay begged, suddenly distracted by something shiny. "Hey...what's that?"

"Huh?" Fin stated as he lifted his head, obviously completely oblivious to the goop that Jay was trying to get him to avoid. His attention quickly drawn to whatever it was that Jay had noticed.

"What are you looking at?" He inquired trotting over happily as he shoved his head down to the ground noticing a spring that he pressed a hoof against and marveled at how it bounced back.

Trotting after the Ponyta, whatever it was that Jay had spotted was up a bit higher than their heads. As Finn stopped, she moved up beside him and craned her neck, trying to see.

"Can't...tell," she mused, before sizing up how tall Finn was in comparison to the object. The reach wouldn't be too much of a stretch, if she had something to stand on.

"Hold still," she commanded, jumping to put her front hooves on Finn's back.

Oh, yes. Much easier now; reaching again, can you believe she actually managed to catch the spike of her mane against the rounded side? It wobbled, but just barely.

"Finn, shuffle forward. I've almost got it."

Fin shifted under her sudden weight. What the? Oh! Looking up the ponyta finally got what she was doing and he wondered if he stood up REAL tall if he would be more helpful. And so that was what he did, he stood up real tall like, he felt every muscle tense under his body and he was trembling slightly with the effort.

"Ah you almost got i...t Jay?" he inquired hopeful that she was close enough now.

"A-almost," the Blitzle answered...just a little...more...

Snagged! Jay manged to hit whatever the shiny was with her spike again, and it teetered backwards before falling forward. Nearly bouncing off of Finn's back, she snagged what turned out to be a leather strap in her teeth...and was on the ground before she realized trash was in her mouth and she promptly spit it out.

'It' landed on the ground with a thud, the bronze aviator goggles glinting dully in the sun. Really, probably other than needing a good scrub...they weren't in terrible condition.

Turning his head as he felt something bounce against his flank he waited until she had gotten off before turning around looking all excited to see what it was she had discovered. Eyes shining his ears and expression drooped when the item was no longer in her mouth. Though that energy was quickly replaced when he realized it had 'fallen' to the ground. Taking a few steps back he tilted his head looking it over.

Making lots of silly faces after having...trash in her mouth...Jay turned to look at the newly discovered object.

"Goggles," she said simply, going over and nudging them with her hoof. "Not a bad find, if I do say so myself."

GOGGLES! Fin pranced about all in excitement, after all goggles were a pretty awesome find! Nosing it again he had completely missed Jay's many faces at having something she found in the garbage in her mouth.

"Ohhh pleaaaase Jay! Can I have it? I know you found it but.." Looking up his eyes were huge the idea of owning a pair of goggles was just too exciting.

Well, that certainly wasn't something that she'd been expecting - rather, his desire to own the goggles, or think she wouldn't give them to him. Not his excitement; that was never a surprise for Jay.

"Wow, Finn, don't wet yourself," she said, a little mockingly. "Yes, you can have them."

The Blitzle shifted her hoof under the leather strap, lifting the goggles up off the ground and offering them to the Ponyta.

"Just...please? Wash them when we get home? I don't need the smell of junk yard following us around wherever we go."

If his eye's could get any bigger they would pop out of his head, luckily this didn't happen. And as if receiving the most precious thing in the world he stuck his muzzle through the strap and tried to get it on his head. It was...very awkward and a lot of work but he managed a lopsided situation of them ..sorta on his forhead. The only way to wash them now was to have himself thrown in a lake.

Looking around he beamed proudly striking a pose before he then laughed and looked around.

"Now I need to find something for you." The ponyta declared as he began to route around the dump.

"You look good," Jay said with a snort as Finn struck a pose, then let off a small sigh when he declared he now had to return the favor.

"Finn, you don't need to get something for me. Not like I was gonna keep those goggles anyway."

Ah, but it was too late and he was off. Smiling some, the Bliztle shook her head and carefully followed after her friend.

He really was too much.

It was his mission now, to find something to repay his best friend for finding this way too cool goggles for him. There were...a lot of things he found...or rather discovered that he would pause and consider, a bra that was interesting as an object though he had no idea what it could be used for, then he found some toy jewelry and he broke it... so obviously it couldn't be that.

Suddenly he saw it. It was a bit tarnished but it sparkled here and there and it was just so...neat. It even had a long chain! Picking it up by the chain he carried it triumphantly to his best friend and let it dangle from his mouth showing it off to her.

"You're like a puppy," Jay laughed as Finn came trotting back over to her...and then she saw what was at the end of that chain, and her breath caught.

It was super tarnished, but it was still a beautiful pocket watch - who knows how old it was, and someone just threw it away! How dumb...

There was definitely some hesitation...in taking the watch from him (cause, well...junk yard. dirt. yeah, blek) but after a moment she reached out and took it, holding up her leg and laying it across so she could inspect better.

"Finn...this is amazing..." she said, her voice filled with awe.

The pride the filled the ponyta's being was immense. He puffed up like a bird fluffing up its feathers and he looked very proud of himself for doing such a good job at finding a suitable gift for Jay.

"It can be our best friends forever gifts! I will never be without my goggles! " He suggested eagerly his ears pricking forward and his tail giving a flame like flick. It was funny to see just how excited the ponyta could become especially over junk.

There was a small smile on Jay's face, but she couldn't help rolling her eyes about Finn's statements about 'bff gifts'.

"You're such a dork," she commented, once again taking up the chain of the pocket watch - ever so gingerly - in her mouth.

Now, here comes the real trick: swaying her head back and forth, Jay finally managed to get the pocket watch to swing high! High up on one side of her head, coming back down to loop around her neck. It was like a necklace now, which she was trying to get the bar-like end of the chain into the hole of the other...without much success.

"Help me out. I don't wanna lose this before I can get it cleaned up."

The ponyta stopped prancing about like an idiot before turning his head an ear flicking backward as the blitzle clamored for his attention. Moving back over to her he tilted his head so he could get a better look at the problem. If only they had opposable thumbs then this wouldn't be so hard.

Thinking it over he managed to catch the loop with his teeth and work it so that it could catch and stay together. Proud he was able to work it out he looked around the magnimites still floating about a random clank here and there indicating that something metal was now attaching to them.

"You think we should leave them to their..collecting?"

The Blitzle raised her head as Finn came in close, letting him get the task completed without much interference. She grinned, looking down her nose at the watch with admiration. Yes, this was very nice...very nice indeed.

Her own ears flicking, she looked to where the magnemites gathered...not particularly found of the way they danced. Last thing she and Finn needed to do would be aggitate an entire flock of the little buggers.

"Yeah, let's get out of here...before they decide to try and collect us," she agreed, starting to head out of the junk yard the same way they'd come in.

Finnagin laughed before nodding his head, yes he didn't want to risk losing his new treasure to those things. And they were the type who were 'finders keepers' even if it was his originally.

"Alright I bet i can beat you home!" He declared as he reared up tossing his head before he charged forward at a full gallop the crazy b*****d.

In his rush past her, Finn'd catch the Blitzle female a little off guard, making her stumble a little and snort.

"Oh, you are so dead Finn!" she shouted after him, though there was a laugh in her voice as Jay took off, trying to gain ground on her best friend...her pocket watch thumping steadily against her chest.

There were days when Finn and Jay didn't spend every waking moment attached at the hip. As far as Jay knew, Finn had gotten distracted by something shiny or moving - or both - and would spend his time investigating it. They'd eventually meet up and he'd regale her with his adventures, often asking a million questions or begging to stop whatever it was she was doing in order to come see what he had discovered. It was a fun game, all in all, so when Jay went about her day and hadn't yet met up with the Ponyta boy, it wasn't cause for alarm. He'd find her at some point, and in the mean time it gave her a chance to go scope out the junk yard again without having to worry about Finn stepping in something...disgusting.

Ducking under the fence once again, Jay stepped carefully into the junk yard and meandered her way through the huge, towering piles. There were pieces of metal and glass - Jay managed to find a large chunk of a mirror, and though she wasn't really a vain Pokemon, she did enjoy taking the moment to check herself out in the reflective surface for a while.

She was exceptionally proud of the watch around her neck. Probably the best gift Finn had ever given her, it had cleaned up very well in the waters of the nearby river. Jay smiled as it glinted in the setting sun, not caring that the mechanism inside didn't work, leaving it immobile and, other than looking pretty, useless.

While she was standing in front of the mirror, something caught the sun just so, blinding the Pokemon momentarily. At first, she'd thought it was the reflection of the watch...but after stepping out of the light of the sun, she still found herself squinting into a bright, flashing light.

"If you're a Pokemon, you need to quit it," Jay said, her voice annoyed as she started walking in the direction of the glinting light.

But...it wasn't a Pokemon, was it? The light was a yellow-white color, and was more of a glinting now that Jay's eyes were adjusted against it. A clock, maybe? No...but what else could make a light like that? It appeared to be coming from inside a pile of junk - which thankfully was not anything nasty, but rather just looked like old cardboard that someone really should have recycled instead of throwing away.

Nudging some pieces of box out of her way, Jay's breath caught in her throat. It was a star - a beautiful, blinking star. Jay automatically assumed it was battery powered, of course - had to have a secret compartment which hid all the mechanics.

"Oh man...Finn would love this," she finally said, her voice disbelieving at her luck! Carefully, Jay picked the star up in her mouth and started to leave the junk yard. She had to get this to Finn, he was gonna freak!

The Blitzle was half-way to the fence when she started to feel incredibly sleepy, and just assumed it was from being out and about so early. By the time she was on the other side of the fence, poor Jay was barely able to keep her eyes open.

Maybe it was just time for a nap...yeah, that sounded good. She could just lay down over there, under that tree and rest. Jay had barely curled up in a ball around the star before she was dozing, and within moments she was sweetly, soundly asleep...the star pulsing warmly against her side.
