Dinner out and a night spent indoors watching movies were all well and good, what was expected from people dating and thus cliché, they were formal and informal and personal but not as personal as going on a haunted walk with your dates younger sibling. That was very personal; getting to know the family members of the person you were dating. And this was just what Alexandre was doing tonight; he was meeting Michael’s youngest brother.

It wasn’t even just a normal meeting, go to his parent’s home or even out shopping, they were going on a haunted walk through the woods. Alexandre had passed by flyers for it in school and mentioned it in passing, over the phone, that he planned to go sometime in October and did Michael want to come as well – a date (yet he hadn’t said those two precise words). From there it had somehow turned into them going but with the addition of Michael’s little, as in younger than Alexandre, brother Peter. Deciding to lighten things, and go with the Halloween theme, he’d mentioned that he’d be dressed up in some costume for it – he hadn’t mentioned what costume. Alexandre wasn’t planning to go to any parties this year, not after feeling so odd and uncomfortable at the one last year, nor was he young enough to trick or treat but he had been planning to dress up and so he already had his costume.

He was meeting Michael and Peter at the place, which was fine by him, since he didn’t want to burden Michael with going to pick up his brother and come and get him as well. Plus he’d had to get himself ready which had taken some time, no surprise really, but he had started early and was apparently here before his date and his dates brother.

The haunted walk was being hosted by some group of people, the name of which escaped him at the moment, who had gained use of one of the cities smaller parks. From the parking lot the walk to the “entrance” was lined with orange lights sticking up from the ground. Past trees and into a clearing where tables were set up for people to pay, get glow bands if they wanted, a concession stand where all the usual fall favorites were being sold (caramel apples, chocolate dipped apples ect..). Beyond them, and blocked off, was an ambulance on stand by for anyone who might get hurt and it seemed there were people also set up to go looking for anyone who might get lost in the woods. The clearing was light up and manned by staff who were dressed up but not in anything too…dramatic, that would be seen along the walk.

It was with a simple apple in hand that Alexandre stood waiting; he’d yet to pay since tonight he was covering the costs for them all. His costume was simple, though for anyone who knew him it was also very fitting, black pants which bore a stripe of red and a stripe of gray on the outside of each leg and a shirt which matched in color scheme. The shirt itself was collared and black while the red and gray ran the front and back of the short sleeves, leaving a stripe of black down the middle right along the top of the shoulder and down. It was in this black area that a square of gray was with a number 1 in the center done in red. He’d dressed as a tribute from District 1, a Hunger Games costume, it seemed someone was a bit of a fan and thought the idea fitting – and it was really.

The boots he wore were the only place he could keep his money, and cell phone, as his pants had no pockets and he was without a coat. So it was bent on the ground that Alexandre was peeking out his phone, which was half peeking out of his right boot, as he checked the time. They should be here soon, he figured they were running late due to city traffic or the crowd into the parking lot that he'd run into. Slipping his phone away he stood up while taking another bite from his apple. It had seemed a few people noticed his costume, and knew where it was from, someone even mentioned that it was district 1 and not 12. He'd felt a smirk forming at that.

If someone thought that a small, two legged animal was on the loose, they would only be half right. Peter Gallo had thought long and hard about what he wanted to be for halloween this year, and when he couldn't decide between a ninja, a space monster, or a transformer, he went with what his older brother suggested.

A Wookiee.

Not just any Wookiee, though. The most famous of all Wookiees — Chewbacca.

That's right. The small child running around in a fully furry costume was really Peter Gallo, accompanied by his older brother, of course. It was going to be a great night, and he was super excited to be out and about and not stuck at home doing something lame. Like homework. Besides, he never got to hang out with his oldest brother, who was so much cooler than his other brother.

Now it was all just a matter of finding Michael's date.

And Michael was none other than Han Solo. When in doubt, go with Star Wars.

It didn't take long for him to find Alex in the crowd, although he couldn't exactly place what his costume was from. He'd never seen the Hunger Games movie, nor had he bothered to read the books. He doubted they would be something that would interest him. But regardless, it looked like others seemed to know who he was, and Michael made his way towards him while keeping an eye on his furball brother.

"Alexandre," he greeted with a grin, not unlike the character he was dressed as. His hair might not be as shaggy as Harrison Ford's (or his brother Chris's), but he thought the costume was good enough and those who had seen the movies should be able to recognize it. Of course it helped that he had a Wookiee with him.

Maybe it wasn't something Michael, or even his brother, would know but Alexandre had rather liked his choice in costume. It wasn't something over the top and that you could almost consider normal clothing. That had been a big reason he'd gone with the costume he'd picked, liking the books and movie had been another. Somehow it also felt like it fit him and his life really, or rather his other life. Tonight was a night off from duty and a night to enjoy himself, to be a teenager (even if Michael was clueless).

Looking around, a quick glance around, his gaze landed on Michael rather quickly. He was tall and stood out to the shorter male. Smiling at the other, a genuine smile and not just a small one, he cast a quick glance to his brother. Where some might go and kiss their boyfriend the blond did no such thing. he really wasn't one for public displays of affection, it was just not something he was comfortable with. He'd never liked seeing other couples so close together, and it was not jealousy, and had a long time ago and subconsciously decided he wouldn't be like them.

Instead he turned his attention to the others little brother and paused for a moment. "Well, a theme idea. I like it." A glance over to his date for the night. "The costumes look good..." He let his words trail off, let the other assume how he really meant that. He knew his little brother and he hadn't expected that. For a moment he'd even had an odd feeling enter him. But at least he knew his brother, even if he didn't remember his name, and so he wouldn't feel so awkward around him.

"Your both ready to go pay? I'm covering tonight, so if you want anything it's on me." That was spoken to them both though the little brother especially, knowing how children tended to have a sweet tooth. There were enough children, and fellow teenagers, around snacking on all manner of sweet treats. With the teenagers around he was hoping he didn't have a run in with classmates, he was planning to keep his age a secret for as long as he could. Tonight was a risk but one he felt was worth it, if all went well.

Michael didn’t even raise an eyebrow to the fact that Alexandre wanted to pay. That was his decision and he wasn’t going to fight him over the bill. He wouldn’t mind paying for things, but he wasn’t going to go all out if he didn’t have to. Alexandre already knew what he was like, so the faux gentlemanly cover wasn’t really doing anything for him at that point in time.

“You’ve never met the kid, have you?” he asked instead, indicating to his brother with a nod. “Peter. Alexandre.” It was a short and sweet introduction, but it was all he thought was needed. They were there to enjoy themselves after all.

”Wait, I know you!” Peter suddenly announced, reaching up to pull off the wookiee head he was wearing so he could see Alexandre more clearly. “You’re the spy!” he said, in complete shock. He hadn’t known Michael was going out with this guy! Talk about a small world...

But wasn’t he, like... totally too young for him?

Peter eyed Alexandre suspiciously, not sure what his intentions were, but a spy prince was never a good sign.

”You guys know each other?” Michael asked, mildly amused. That was a strange coincidence, but not something he was going to worry over. They were trying to get into the event first, and then they would worry about other things.

It would be nice if people actually let him, though...

Just as he was in the process of ushering the two of them towards the ticket booth, one of the mothers of his students had spotted him and decided now would be a good time to talk. Michael put on a kindly smile and glance towards Alex to let him know it was okay to go on without him for a bit.

Staring at the others little brother he shook his head. "I'm not a spy, I did tell you that already I thought." He said with a shaking of his head, despite the amused smile playing about his features.

glancing to the older Gallo he gave a small, short, nod of his head. "I did have the pleasure at a social event some time back. I hadn't connected the names because it's honestly been a while." He really hoped Peter didn't shout about his age, since the little one knew how old he was; or in this case wasn't. But if he said anything, made to pull Peter aside, he was sure that like most kids he'd say something too loudly and Michael would hear him and find out.

Watching as it seemed someone, likely a students mother, decided to approach his date he gave a nod to him. "We'll head to the ticket booth, take your time." Smiling at his dark haired date he turned to the shorter wookiee. "Ready to go get our tickets?" Offering out a hand. God he hoped tonight went well and Peter only called him a spy and/or a prince. He didn't need Peter bringing up how old he really was.

The ticket booth had quite a line of people, parents and children, teenagers on dates, and groups of friends. But this wasn't a surprise, in fact it was expected really. "Looks like we have a bit of a wait, maybe your brother will be done with his conversation before we even reach the counter, then we can go in together." Not that he minded going in with Peter and waiting for Michael. Moving to get into the line of people waiting to pay the entrance fee.

Peter stared suspiciously up at the spy prince, not knowing what his game was, or if he was all that serious about his brother. Ugh, it figured that his brothers would be the ones picking guys to go out with instead of girls. Not that he thought that was wrong, but jeez... talk about annoying to explain to ignorant people.

“I guess,” he said in response to if he was ready to get tickets. There wasn’t much else they could be doing besides standing around waiting for Michael. “Are you on a secret mission?” he asked curiously, narrowing his eyes in a mock-suspicious kind of way. He didn’t think that this guy was dangerous or anything, but he didn’t like not knowing what was going on.

Even with the line, it didn’t take too long to get to the front, and Peter hurried up to the booth to order for them, regardless of whether or not he knew Alexandre would pay for them. “We need three tickets. One adult and two kids!” he chirped, standing on his tiptoes in order to see over the edge properly.

"You still think I'm a spy?" He asked, though it was rhetorical. Obviously Peter still thought he was a spy. "I told you at the charity. I'm not a spy. I'm also not a prince." Laughing softly at the others antics. He really was imaginative and he rather liked it, an innocent child with such innocent and amusing thoughts.

A glance back toward Michael before he turned ahead and moved forward as the line moved. "No, I'm not on a secret mission. I'm on a date with your brother and enjoying an evening out with my boyfriend and his little brother." Really it still sounded odd to say boyfriend, it wasn't a word he'd ever used till recently. Letting it drop after that he continued to move up with the line. When it was finally their turn, and really it hadn't taken all that long, he let Peter go up to order.

"Peter, the sign says 15 and under as children. I'm seventeen, I'm not a child. So two adult and one child." Humor laced his words while bright slate eyes watched him as he stepped forward toward the booth. Wallet coming out as he bent to retrieve it from where it was down in his boot. As he got his wallet he stood upright slowly, busy opening his wallet and pulling out money in order to pay.

”Not a child indeed...” Michael said as he approached the two at the ticket booth, having caught the last bits of their conversation. He was still smiling, but it was a forced one. Alexandre was lucky that his little brother was there, otherwise he would have had some choice words right then and there.

“Sorry about that. Student’s mom. Wanted to see how her kid was doing, you know, the usual,” he said, taking the ticket that was handed to him and turning to make his way into the attraction.

Peter looked from Alex to Michael, not noticing the change in Michael’s behavior, and if he did, he wouldn’t really understand why it had shifted. Maybe he had a bad conversation with his student’s mom? Or something like that.

“Is there food here? I want a funnel cake,” he announced, glancing from Michael to Alexandre, hoping that they’d want something similar. If they were there to have fun, then they could at least get some food to go with it, right?

One thing went through his mind at hearing Michael - oh god. Somehow he didn't think the other was all that pleased with this revelation. For a moment he stood frozen before turning around to offer Michael his ticket. Seemed he was upset, if him moving ahead of them was any indication.

The momentary distraction that peter provided was a small blessing, in his book anyway. "They have food, I think I noticed funnel cake among the treats." A nod of his head as he motioned for Peter to follow him back toward where they'd met up. "My treat." Really tonight was his treat compleatly, it only felt right that he do the treating this time.

"We'll meet you inside, Michael." Calling over his shoulder, already moving to get Peter his funnel cake. An unusual hurry about him to put some distancde between himself and michael. he didn't like that the other had heard and was not looking forward to what he was sure to come by nights end,, he doubted even he could talk his way out of this situation - as he was sure it was indeed a situation.

"Peter...do you think Michael will want something also?" Not sure if Peter's older brother was fond of anything they had to offer here.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 05, 2013 2:40 pm

Michael didn’t pause to stop when it seemed as though Alex was going to get his bother some snacks. It was probably better that way, anyway. His temper wasn’t at all like his younger brother’s. Where Christopher let everything bottle up until it exploded in a rush of anger and frustration, Michael tended to say how he felt almost immediately. His anger was more controlled in that respect, and he was able to allow himself to wait for the right moment in which to confront the young man -- boy -- he’d apparently been dating.

For now, he waited at the entrance to the attraction, his arms crossed over his chest, and forcing a small smile to those who recognized his costume. Even if he was angry, he could still at least fake complacency.

Peter jumped up and down in excitement when he was offered snacks, overjoyed that he was going to be totally spoiled. “Awesome! You should pick some and surprise me. If you’re going to be treating us, then you should at least be the one to pick! I promise I’ll eat whatever you choose. I’m not picky at all!” he chirped in excitement, ready for a fun filled night.

Of course, for him it wasn’t worrying at all that Michael would wander off. It wasn’t like he couldn’t handle himself. And if anything happened, he would just hide somewhere, power up, and then come in to rescue both Alexandre and Michael from whatever dangers there were!

But tonight was supposed to be a fun night, so he wasn’t going to worry about bad things until later. “Yeah, he’ll probably like funnel cake! He’s not picky, either!” he insisted, holding out his hands so he could be loaded up with treats.

Focusing, for the moment, on Peter and not wanting to think on what was going to happen with him and Michael later Alexandre was more than happy to walk with Peter to the set up they had where snacks were being bought. It seemed they were lucky, or unlucky as he thought right now, that there was no line. So right to the booth they went.

"I don't want you getting too many snacks. I don't know what your allowed and not allowed, and I'd rather not go over any sort of limit." And dig himself into a deeper hole than he already was in. This was not a hole he'd ever wanted to find himself in, even as he'd danced around it. Having Michael know his age was not something he'd planned on, and not just because he wanted to be deceptive but also because he didn't know the others age and felt that it wasn't important - at least not at this point. He was making sure no lines were crossed that shouldn't be.

"You should go for the funnel cake." Which it did indeed seem they had. "And I'll get one for Michael as well." And he wasn't thinking it would help, in anyway, to smooth things over even in the slightest. "A caramel apple maybe. I hear they can make a mess though. So maybe chocolate - less sticky than caramel.

"Your brothers not picky either...what does he like to eat? Anything he really likes or is he the sort to try anything at least once, so long as it's food?" He asked, curious and also wanting to act like this was still a normal date. This was no longer normal, it had veered off the path of normal and headed down the path of dangerous only a few minutes ago.

For the moments here the one behind the booth was ignored till now. Turning on her he ordered two funnel cakes, a chocolate covered apple, his attention went to Peter when they asked if he wanted one with sprinkles or anything else on it. His look told Peter that was for him to answer.

Without looking to the worker he asked for a simple apple for himself, he wasn't big on sweets.

He bided his time, waiting for the right opportunity to pull Alexandre aside. Michael couldn’t really do with with Peter there and while he was sure both of them could sense his agitation, he did his best to conceal it from the little brother who still looked up to him. Alexandre, on the other hand, would understand his vexation soon enough if he didn’t already realise the problem.

The sweets were enjoyed well enough and Michael would even admit to having a decent time at the place. He wasn’t sure what had been going through Alexandre’s head when he decided to withhold certain information from him, and part of him realized that it was his own fault for never truly asking — he’d clearly hoped that someone wasn’t so stupid as to put someone else in legal danger. Thank god Alexandre was more of a prude than he was used to.

“We need to talk,” he finally said, grabbing Alexandre as Peter went to explore an attraction meant for the younger crowd. Taking hold of the younger man’s arm, he pulled Alexandre to the side, out of the way of the crowds walking by, and to the side of a tent. “Explain yourself,” he demanded, his eyes flashing dangerously, clearly no longer in the mood for jokes. “When were you going to tell me you’re underage? Let me guess, it didn’t cross your mind that I could be thrown in jail, or... what? You thought it would be funny to trick me?”

The blond had tried all night to enjoy himself but it was hard to do when your stomach felt like it was in knots, and the peaceful conversation he'd been figuring on was tense and stilted; not to mention short. Tonight was nothing like what he'd planned when he'd first brought up the idea; he'd really wanted to enjoy a nice evening out on a date and getting to know the others family, he'd wanted to do the meet the family thing slowly. It seemed all that was done for, if Michael's aura wasn't enough to go by, and Alexandre was not looking forward to alone time. He just hoped it would be after this poor attempt at fun, because he certainly wasn't having fun.

It seemed that luck wasn't going to favor him at all tonight, it seemed luck was intent upon cursing him all night. As Peter ran off to go explore something or other, his mind wasn't as focused as it normally would have been, and then he yelped as he was grabbed about the arm. He was not looking forward to this, those words We need to talk spelled trouble for him. As they moved away from everyone, only a few glancing at the couple, he pulled his arm free once they'd stopped. Guilt filled him and he stood letting the other speak before words burst free from him.

"I wasn't going to tell you! I don't see why it mattered one bit and I'm well aware - or did you forget when I mentioned my mother being a lawyer, even if she is a business lawyer." He had known and that was one of the two reasons he'd made sure nothing had happened, being a prude being the other reason (not that he considered himself to be one). "Why would I trick someone - a complete stranger that day on the beach? You think I would what? Take some pleasure in pouring my time and energy into some big trick? I'm not so immature and childish...and I've better things to spend my time and energy on than some trick." He said this all louder than he normally spoke and his words were a bit hurried. Slate eyes stared up at the other unblinking, as serious as the other but lacking that dangerous look the others eyes had.

"I didn't think age was such an issue when no laws were broken." This part was said in a suddenly quieter tone. "I would have told you if you'd ever asked. But I wouldn't have other wise." And what about when his birthday came up? Not being one who celebrated it that wasn't likely to come up, until the other met Lily or Johnathan...or even his family. He hadn't thought that far off though. But by then, by the next time his birthday came around, he'd be 18 anyway.

Michael could feel the anger welling up inside him, but the look of guilt in Alexandre’s eyes had it ebbing slowly away. He wanted to stay angry at him because he didn’t want to turn his anger on himself for being a fool. It was easier to take it out on someone else.

“Look... we shouldn’t see each other...” he finally forced out, his arms crossed over his chest as he glanced away from the much younger man. “Not like this, anyway... I can’t risk it. I’m a teacher, for ******** sake... If people found out I was dating someone as young as my students...” Obviously he would be out of a job.

He didn’t like how this had turned out. He obviously enjoyed Alexandre’s company, but now he was glad none of his advances were allowed. He would at least give Alexandre credit for that much... Whether he did it because he knew he was underage, or because he just wasn’t ready for their relationship to progress that far, who knew, but Michael was glad, especially now.

“You understand why we shouldn’t, right...?” he wondered, wanting to make sure Alexandre wasn’t going to go home thinking it was all his fault or something crazy like that. “And... It’s my own fault for not asking as well,” he forced himself to admit.

He knew the end was coming, he could almost hear it before it was said, and yet it still bothered him. How could it not though? He'd actually put his time and effort into this, he'd put his emotions on the line and poured them into this as well.

"Of course..." Though he still disliked this - the whole ending of this. The other was...right, as much as he didn't want to admit it, even if he told himself that no one would figure it out. Why would someone think Michael would date someone so much younger than himself? And none of Michael's students were likely to know him at all, though maybe their parents considering the money some of those students came from. He had thought, and maybe even to a point tricked himself, into thinking it was safe and no one would find out.

"Yeah, I do." He did but the words hurt to speak, every word he'd just said hurt. Slate eyes blinked before Alex looked away to observe everyone around them. Happy people, happy couples, happy teenagers and happy adults. It didn't feel right to be here right now, remaining here felt wrong. After a moment of looking at them slate eyes narrowed as he felt something darker well up inside of him, jealousy perhaps? He wanted to leave and power up and find some senshi to beat on and kill. His mood was quickly darkening as he felt even more like he needed to leave, to cancel this night of fun, and he watched all the people chatting oh so happily. Finally he turned back to the other, slate eyes not as gentle as before. "You wouldn't have thought to ask - why should you have?" He questioned though clearly wasn't looking for an answer.

"Look - I'm going to go. You should let your brother have fun though."
