Walking through the winter wonderland, Taro's gold black and white fur stood out like a sore thumb. Prowling through the cold slush he searched for shelter. It was cold but he wanted a nice spot to rest for a while, maybe make it home. After all his heart was as cold as this place so it was fitting.
Walking past the line of trees he came up to a clearing and a mouth of a cave appeared before him from the foot of the moutain. It was located in the north but west of the Einherjar pack that roamed the lands. He knew this because he listened and learned, staying clear from other packs because he had no desired to be near them. Just like he avoided other wolves as much as possible to not lose it and drag their bones with him. At least that what he enjoyed thinking to himself.
Shaking his head at the thoughts swirling his unstable mind, he walked toward the entrance slowly, his ears flickering around to hear for any sign of life.

Though not fully claimed, this land was going to be hers as soon as she established her dominance in this territory. The quick perimeter sniff had confirmed her suspicions that wolves had not ventured through this winter wood in some time. Many preferred lands that experienced all seasons instead of just two; winter and mild-winter.
Titania liked the snow. It reminded her of home and her snowy mother. Having inherited the soft snow-flower coat, she blended perfectly with the frigid surroundings. The only thing that didn't match the atmosphere was the females aurora scarf, a garment held in special regard in her mother's bloodline. The only thing her father passed to her was the marking on her flank. The constellation she sported was that of the scorpion, representing a strong creature with bite and vitality. The will to live on was terribly strong within Titania.
She reminded herself of all of this as she curled up tighter in a ball in the cave. Having procured it earlier, she had rid it of debris, but she was too tired to explore deeper within. Right now, she was going to wait on the recent freeze and regain her energy. When the time came she would search deeper for perhaps food and warmer pockets within.

Taro didn't hear a single stir in the area around him. Good. That meant he could have this spot for himself and then, claim the area later as his territory. Entering the cave he paused. While the scent of the cave hit him first it was the scent of another wolf that hit him. It was fresh and seemingly to be there.
That was not good. Taro had two choices. Either leave and find his own spot elsewhere or run off the wolf. The male's lips curled to bare his fangs and gave a sharp bark, the sound echoing. He was going to run this wolf off even if it meant he had to kill. Which Taro didn't mind given that he's done plenty of it to not really give a second thought on it.
Putting his body into an aggressive stance he waited for the wolf in the cave to react, to come to his jaws of death.

The sharp bark bounced off the cave walls in a deafening echo. Titania reacted, but not in fear. She lifted her head slowly and peered toward the entrance of the cave. Sniffing the air carefully, she could smell a male... an aggressive one at that. Slowly and gracefully, the female alpha got to her paws and made her way toward the entrance. With a low growl within her throat, she appeared before the male and squared her shoulders, her white coat glistening in the snowy light from outside.
Her eyes narrowed as she surveyed the newcomer's obvious challenging stance. He wanted this space as his own it seemed and Titania was in no mood to play that game. She was here first and she would be damned if she let it go to some rough and tumble lone male.
"Is there something you want?" Titania asked with a small growl. She knew what he wanted, but she was not about to give it up that easily. This was hers.

Taro stood there watching as a white wolf with a unique, star looking scarf seeing that the wolf was a female and alpha by the presence of her. The male smirked a bit at that. He wasn't intimidated at all. He was the son of alphas. He was the grandson of alphas. The great grandson of alphas and so on. Taro was brother to alphas and his sister who preferred being a beta. He himself would have been alpha but given that he was out of his mind Taro began to roam as a solitary creature rather than one seeking to form a pack and lead it.
That didn't matter at the moment. That was nothing but his past. The present was what he was more interested in as his hackles began to stand. The female spoke. While she was beautiful, more beautiful than any female he's come across, her voice was lovely perfect for her appearance. Yet....yet he was here for the cave not for a female. "Yes..Your in my territory. Therefore in my cave. Get out or I'll drag you out female. Make it easy on yourself to leave here without a scar. I'll not hesitate to hurt such a pretty face." Of course he wouldn't hesitate. His eldest brother whom he hated with everything he had messed his pretty face up. It pleased him to see his handy work.

Unamused and unfazed by the male's compliment within a threat, she dug her claws into the ground and squared her shoulders as she watches him. Her blood boiled at his insolence and arrogance, but she managed to keep calm under such pressure and menacing challenge. Though she had no love for her father, he had taught her well in the arts of hunting, fighting, and evasion.
This male was large, larger than she. For a split second she admired the strange contrast of gold and black, but kept her focus on raised hackles and extending claws. Growling back, she gave no ground and would show no fear to this brat.
"This is not your territory. It has not been marked in some time. On top of that fact, I was here within the cave long before you. I mean this in the most polite way, but get lost and find your own," Titania growled at him, giving a sharp bark in warning.
Deeper still within the cave the sharp barks and growls began to echo around a larger den that Titania had not checked. A large, angry creature began to stir slowly.

Taro watched the female and growled sharply, baring his fangs at her. The male took a step forward in offense to make her back off. "Look girl, this is my land now. I claim it. All of it and that includes this cave. Get the hell out!" Unknown to them there was something else in the deepest part of the caves. Something larger and bulky, deeply furred than they were and because of all the noise, especially from Taro it was being bothered.
THe gold and black male layed his ears back staring down the female. "You have a few seconds to leave. Or else I'll just slaughter you here and feast on your flesh. I care not."

Snarling passionately, the female glared at him and took a step forward. Instead of backing off, she even advanced and challenged his violence. Her eyes danced with wild intent and violent promise. If she went down tonight defending a cold desolate cave, she would at least defend her pride valiantly. Snapping her jaws at him, she brandished sharp fangs and night colored claws. She would not go down tonight however.
"You have no claim on anything here and I will no back down to weak bullying and petty threats of violence. Find your own cave elsewhere for I arrived before you," she snarled at him and scraped at the ground for a moment, ready to get traction and launch herself at him if she had to.
The growls and rumbled began to wake the beast within. Slowly the other occupant of the cave became aware that it was not alone. This did not make it happy in any way.

Taro twitched and moved towards the female, baring his fangs and stands nose to nose. "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn." The male tackled the female, barking at her sharply and lunging down to bite at her neck. He will show this female who was dominant here. The male wanted to slaughter her and use her fur as a bed. Yes that beast in him, that monster was clawing it's way out.

A canine yelp sounded in the cave as the male attacked the female. She was taken by surprise, but she was not frightened or scared. Instantly her instincts kicked in and as he lunged in toward her neck she brought her head down and bit at his muzzle before using her back legs to kick him off of her. Turning swiftly, her white body move fluidly through the dense, cold air she then bounded forward and struck for the dominant position. Tackling him, she aimed for his shoulder and dug her claws in the best she could.
Though he was larger, she had speed and maneuverability over him. She and her siblings were always tested by their father and though she hated him, the young alpha had learned the ways of fighting and survival.
Thinking back on those days, she swore she saw red and suddenly she felt like she was fighting more viciously than ever. Her eyes blazed with fierce determination because she refused to be seen as something weak ever again.

It was very impressive at the ferocity of the female possessed. If this was another time and circumstances he would have been impressed because not many females he knew, aside from his sister who was the only female he knew and his mother, exhibited the same time of strength and fierceness. However....He was here to claim what was his.
Snarling he kicked her off at the alpha's stomach and rolled quickly to bite into her fur, growling and snarling madly, flaring his nostrils. Though because of his loud growling and snarling it made that large beast deep in the cave very angry to where it began to make it's way to the mouth of the cave where the two wolves fought. Very soon they would have company. Not the kind that was friendly neither.

The bite hit its mark and Titania felt pain anew in her side. Blood stained her coat and the snow upon the ground of the cave. Pushing the pain to the bottom of her lists of concern, she focused back on the male and lashed toward him, biting and snapping at his shoulder to get him away from her wounded side. Her hind leg was now raised slightly of the ground because of the bleeding area, but she was still able to maneuver. Snarling viciously, she aimed for another strike.
But a blood curdling sound made her stop. A savage, angry roar interrupted their battle. Instantly Titania's blood went as icy as the snow as her eyes darted toward the beast. A bear. A huge grizzly had been awoken from its hibernation. It was not pleased to find two fighting wolves in its den and the smell of blood on the ground.
Titania's first instinct was to run. To turn and flee as fast as possible. Unfortunately, her second instinct kicked in first and took over stubbornly. An overwhelming feeling of annoyance and rage consumed her. She snarled darkly and stood her ground.
"For Lupis sake!! I have had enough of these interruptions. I wont give this cave up to this mutt and you can be assured I will not give it up to some mangy walking rug!!" Titania yelled savagely before forgetting all about Taro and darting forward and launching upward to bite at anywhere she knew an artery lay.

The female got his shoulder and smelled the blood before he felt it. That made him further angry. Yet he had stopped when he heard the roar of a pissed off creature. Lifting his head he smelled the air and the stench of bear hit him before he saw it.
The beast was large and bulky coming at them. Before he could be off the female, she was already gone and attacking the bear. It was impressive but he wasn't there to think about that...No that bear looked beyond the normal anger and he launched himself at the female. Grabbing her by the scruff of her neck, he pulled her away from the bear who had swung it's large clawed paw to hit the female who was targetting the neck just in time to prevent a fatal blow. No, this female would not do. He would have to slaughter the bear and good thing too since the bear would provide warmth for his new cave....after he shooed this female of course.

When she felt teeth on her scruff she snarled viciously. Thrashing, she was pulled away as a large paw swiped at her form. Dodging the dangerous ursa's claws, she rolled upon the ground and freed herself. Snarling she pitched herself away before assessing the situation.
The adrenaline pumping through her veins numbed the pain in her side and she glanced around the cave and then upward. She saw icicles, sharp as daggers, glistening above them. They held fast to the ceiling and were not a threat to them... but they could be.
Noting that the male was attacking the bear, she stepped back before looking around swiftly. She saw the wall behind the bear and growled sharply at the gold and black male.
"Push him to the wall!!" She yelled at him and ran at the bear before throwing herself against the large furry creature, still groggy from waking. She slammed herself against him and made sure he stumbled back into the wall, his large girth plummeting against the wall and causing the cave to shake. The icicles gave off small dangerous tickling sounds.

Taro had gotten a good amount of bear flesh into his mouth. While it was not the jugular it was near enough that he tasted blood from this fur ball and was becoming violent at the scent and coppery, tangy bear blood. His ears flickered back at the female's voice, a growl ripping from him as he let go and watched as she slammed herself against the bear.
The bear stumbled back from the force of the alpha female, surprised and still rather groggy from it's interrupted sleep. It hit the wall. Yet the sound of tinkling from the ceiling made Taro look up and well....Maybe this female was really impressive. He actually stopped to look at her and there was a hint of approval in his gaze but it was quickly snuffed out when he attacked the bear who was getting up and shaking itself. It was time to end the bear and it was by their force of strength that can get him down.
