It really was starting to look and feel like autumn. The trees were on their way to being bare of leaves, the ground was littered with varying colored leaves, and water from the earlier rain still darkened the paved paths of the park. The sound boots stepping on wet pavement, and little pebbles that had come loose from the pavement, filled the air around him.

The smell of fireplaces had just started to fill the air, as of the last night or two, it really was a time of the year he loved. Taking a deep breath, filling his nose with the smells of fall, he let it out with a sigh. Loose blond hair was damp in some areas, he'd been standing under a tree earlier which had dripped onto him, and hung limp in those areas. Stopping under a lamp post he stood enjoying the evening, he didn't sense anyone around. Slate eyes took in the scene of leaves all around, drops of water falling from trees, and more leaves joining their companions on the ground. Yes, fall was here and he welcomed it, just as he welcomed the undisturbed evening.

The evening was crisp and smelled of autumn, which was a grateful relief from the sweltering heat that summer had brought. Considering that his uniform was long-sleeved, the transition between the two seasons certainly made it easier on Celsus, who would much rather be in cooler weather than hot and had spent his first evening back sitting up in a tree just admiring the colors.

This, perhaps, was his favorite time to paint - everything was a rather lovely shade of orange and gold, and in peering closer at the leaves, there were faint trances of violet and a pale maroon that spread out, tendril-like, across the plants.

In other words, it was perfect. And Celsus was quite enjoying it, if he did say so himself.

At least until he felt the power signature ripple through the air. He lifted his head and glanced around, eyes narrowing slightly as he searched for the source. It had seemed stronger than his own, which made him wary, but since running away was not one of his strong suits, he stayed where he was and waited - which fortunately wasn't for a very long time, as a figure was coming into view.

"Ahhh, looks like someone else is out this delightful autumn evening air."

And just as he was really starting to relax his senses told him someone was approaching. Whoever it was they were weaker, a squire from the feel. Sighing he lifted and turned his head toward the approaching figure. He didn't move, didn't show anything other than simple acknowledgement.

The autumn was nice and cool and perfect for his uniform, he didn't think his uniform would be warm enough for the winter which he'd heard was supposed to be harsh. The summer was too hot for his uniform and he hadn't tried this uniform in the spring time so was clueless, for now, how he would be come spring.

Stretching, arching back against the lamp post, he tipped his head back for a moment. As he relaxed, and came to stand on his feel properly, he let his gaze fall onto the squire. The look on his face clearly asking if he really had to deal with him. "Of all the nights..."

He vaguely recognized the figure that stood in front of him, but it seemed that he had gone up in rank since the last time Celsus had seen him - up to much higher than his own, he realized, with a slightly sinking feeling in his stomach. The young man that stood before him was a Negaverse General, his expression one of boredom as he looked up to where Celsus was sitting.

He had a feeling this was not going to end well.

Celsus lifted his eyebrows, lifting his hands and linking his fingers together behind his head, tilting to slant a gaze down at the general.

"And a good evening to you as well," he said lightly. "What a very nice greeting you've just given me there, sir. Isn't it more polite to say Good evening, fancy a chat or perhaps a battle to the death? instead?"

"That would depend on whether or not I personally fancy either, and at present I can't say that I do. However if either is your wish, especially a fight to the death, I'm sure I can be convinced to oblige." He spoke, calm but confident, he had every reason to be comfortable and confidant in himself and his power.

"Though if death is your wish I can assuredly grant it in a far easier manner than a fight to the death. If that's your wish...of course." That smile upon his lips turned into a cross between a smile and a smirk, almost like a cat that was quite satisfied.

The knight sitting in the tree wasn't one he recognized, but he saw far less of them when compared to senshi, and he really had a low opinion of the majority of them. It was little surprise he couldn't remember this one, aside from knowing he'd encountered them before. It had to have been brief, a glimpse and maybe a word or two exchanged. It had to have been some big battle, that much he was sure of.

"Well, actually, I would much prefer not to die," said Celsus amiably, swinging his legs over the branch he was sitting on so that they dangled over the side, his hands gripping the wood to keep from falling off. While he wasn't exactly scared of the general, the impression that things would most likely end with him on the ground was a much more likely scenario than him coming out victorious.

"Ah, a confident one," Celsus said, with a wink and smile, tilting so that his red hair fell about his face. "I much prefer the ones who are actually capable of kicking some serious arse to be confident. The ones that aren't capable merely look as though they're trying to compensate for something."

His eyes twinkling mischievously, Celsus swung his legs back and forth and said, "Might I ask your name, oh General sir?"

Pushing off the lamp post, back arching with the movement, he let himself walk slowly toward the occupied tree. His pace slow and measured. A tilting of his head, ash blond hair falling across his face, he looked just a bit curious or maybe amused.

"Are you implying that because of my words, and how I speak, that I imply what I am not?" As he questioned the other that smile became even more amused, he was finding this entertaining. A little light exchange of words between them and he was finding himself up to the idea of a fight, more than he had been, although continuing down this path wasn't bad either. Maybe this run in wasn't as bad as he'd first thought, though it still had interrupted his peace.

"Benitoite, and your name - Knight?" He questioned as he came to a stop under the knight occupied branch.

Celsus blinked and then smiled, slow at catlike.

"My good sir, not at all," he said lightly, and inclined his head towards the general with a wink, bringing a finger to his lips as though sharing some secret between them. "I was merely extolling your virtues. You are clearly a capable sort, which means you are allowed to make such comments. But I must say, there are some among your kind that make comments and really they are weaker than a child, which is when I believe they are compensating for their losses by talking big."

Benitoite. The name was familiar, and considering that Celsus knew he had seen the other before, he was under the distinct impression that their last meeting had not gone well. He leaned back on the branch a little as the general stepped closer and smiled benignly before climbing to his feet (not an easy task, considering the width of the branch) and managing a not-so-very-graceful bow.

"Celsus, Squire of Chronos, at your service," he said breezily. "And I would say it is a pleasure to see you, General Benitoite, but I sincerely doubt you would see it that way."

Watching the other carefully he wasn't sure what to think of this Squire. Were they mocking him, did their words hold true? With the winking and childish act to go with the words, which were elegantly spoken, he wasn't quite sure what to think. It was decided, rather quickly, to simply go with the words and to, for now, trust them. "I believe the same can be said of those on your side of this war, speaking as though they are far more than the actual truth. It is...a human problem." He spoke easily. It was likely even one he himself suffered from especially as a civilian. It was hard not to let the confidence he had as Benitoite come out when Alexandre.

Laughing at the bowing knight he inclined his own head. "And I would also doubt it is really a pleasure of yours to meet me. After all, who takes pleasure in meeting one who is considered an enemy?" He questioned gently. "Though I am sure there are some who enjoy such encounters as they wish to fight or attempt to change the others mind and bring them to the other side." And at times he did enjoy a good fight, but he didn't go seeking those out. As for turning peoples minds...he would try his hand at it when he found someone he thought pliable enough.

"Now that the introductions are over and simple words exchanged what direction shall this evening move toward?" Tapping his booted right foot, waiting to see what the knight had planned for this encounter, if anything.

The tree was not that big, and with one flick of his wrist, Celsus had the feeling he would be knocked from its branches. However, there was something about the trees that made him feel safer; perhaps the height, or the feel, but either way, being up here made him feel more at ease than if he were to be on the ground in front of the General.

Or maybe he just had a height complex.

"True," said Celsus, with a consenting nod of his head. "Very true. I suppose there are people on 'my side' as well that seem as such. I believe it is at the very nature of humans to think one thing when really there are other things."

The laugh surprised him a little, but at least he hadn't attacked yet. Celsus was not off of his guard, and doubted whether Benitoite was either, but still he made no move to attack, merely lifting a brow.

"You tell me," said Celsus lightly. "Are you in the mood for a spar, or shall we merely duel with words this evening?"

While he could indeed knock the squire from his branch he might be just as likely to teleport into the tree and kick him from it, it might even be the more likely thing to happen - just for the shock value of it.

Tilting his head as he watched the other he kept silent for the moment as he let the other speak. His own mind wandering, though he kept his eyes focused on the squire.

"Mmmm. I'm sure I could be persuaded either way. So again the ball is in your court, sort to speak. Do you wish to try you luck and see how you make out against a General?" He questioned with a slender brow raised at the end of his sentence. What would the outcome of this encounter be? Would he be battling or would things remain as a battle of words? He stood waiting, watching carefully for any movement to indicate the others intentions. As he waited he shifted his weight from one side to the other, his arms across his chest loosely, he looked a bit too casual..

"To fight, or not to fight," sighed Celsus, as if this were a very great conundrum indeed. "That is the question, now, isn't it? And we do seem to be playing a game of tennis here, tossing words back at each other, each one leaving it up to the other to decide..."

He shrugged, figuring there was no way out of it, anyway. Fighting a General was perhaps a suicide move, but there was little chance of walking away unscathed as it was, and he may as well go down fighting.

Celsus gripped the tree a little harder.

"Well then, General Benitoite," he said lightly, and gave another small bow.

"Shall we duel, then?"

At least if he had decided to walk away now, rather than fight, he'd only walk away verbally scathed. But it seemed the squire sought to visible injury from the blond haired General.

"It would seem that we shall indeed. Now will you come down or need I go up to you and...assist you in coming down?" He questioned as he let his arms drop to his side and stood back up straight and proper. he had no issue in helping, take it to me knocking or throwing, the other from the tree. At least by the end of this he'd have some more information to write down on another enemy, how much information he didn't know just yet though. Every extra bit of information he wrote down was a little more to pass on to others, and reference whenever he had time to read over things.

"I prefer to walk into my own doom, thanks," said Celsus cheerfully, and he crouched down, gripping the branch beneath his feet, swinging easily down and landing with a soft thump back onto the grass. He brushed off his pants, straightened his shirt, and then spread his arms wide.

"Ready when you are, your General-ness."

"How cheerfully you court those who will do you harm. Not something many would do. Have you a wish for pain or are you simply that uncaring?" He questioned, wanting to know. This whole time the other smiled, bowed, handled things with such ease and carelessness. It unnerved him to a degree, it wasn't normal. He could understand cockiness more than he could this behavior.

Even as he waited for an answer, unsure if he really wanted it, he summoned his weapon and held it tightly between his gloved hands.
