Anya had asked her mother to send her a deck of cards.Playing cards with her housemate the other day had her in the mood to play. The sun was shining today and frankly she was tired of hearing her roommates shrieking over this guy or that one and what the 'in' style was this year so she grabbed a striped sheet and went out into the lawn to play a rousing game of solitaire.
So far she'd beaten 2 hands and lost 3. With a sigh she threw her head back and just took a moment to take in the sun on her face.

Kennedy tsked. "You shouldn't have covered that king with the queen out of the deck... It would mean the difference between winning and loosing this hand." With a smirk he glanced over the lawn. "Do you play other card games?"
Kennedy had a pillowcase slung over his shoulder. Inside were many different kinds of goodies... He had won the sweets off a couple of 4th years who just got back from Hogsmeade. He didn't eat candy...but its what he always played for, Serge used to eat it for him... he had a trunk full of candy in his room that was just sitting there since Serge had left.
He eyed her cards. "Do you like candy?" He smirked cause that sounded creepy. "Im Kennedy... I just won a bunch of chocolate frogs... and i don't eat chocolate... so ill play you in cards and if you win you can have this candy..."

Anya jumped and stiffled a scream as a voice sounded behind her. Squinting into the sun she made out the boy who'd been with the girl from the other day. She tried to act tough but if anything she looked like a frazzled kitten. " I play plenty of card games. Got one in mind?" Now maybe she could get more details on the situation with her housemate Marc. At the mention of candy her eyes lite up and she nodded. " Oh chocolate my favorite."
She moved her cards and scooted giving him room to sit. " Nice to meet you Kennedy, though I saw you the other day. I'm Anya.Please sit and let's see about that candy." She smiled brightly, the idea of candy and good gossip had her excited.

Kenny nodded. "Poker... 5 card draw" He plopped the pillowcase down and settled carefully at the edge of the sheet.He nodded to the cards in her hand... "You deal."
He opened the pillowcase to show his boon... All types of candy filld the bag. "Please help yourself.." He plucked a chocolate frog and tossed it to her before pulling a piece of gum out to chew.
As she mentioned meeting him he smiled. "Yeah...sorry about that...Vonali has a bone to pick with your house mate. "

Anya nodded and made ready to attempt to shuffle. Her small hands made it a bit awkward but she could do it though not as smoothly as most card players. Her hands were full when he said to help herself and she dropped the cards to catch the frog. Nodding she straightened the cards and opened the card, biting into the frog soon as it quit moving.
She finished dealing the cards before speaking. " I caught that. And I fear she's going to be highly upset that he had me throw her note in the trash." As she spoke she looked right at Kennedy, judging his reaction.

Kennedy watched her deal counting just to make sure. He scooped up his cards and glanced them over. He had a pair of 10's... an Ace and two lower cards. Doing quick math he calculated her shuffle with the chance that she got good cards... Keeping his Ace and pair he spoke "Give me two..."
However he glanced up sharply at her words and choked on his gum. He forced a swallow and closed his eyes. "Damn hes stupider then i thought he was." Shaking his head he dug into the pillowcase to look for a new piece of gum. He never swallowed gum but he always had a piece in his mouth.
Sighing he glanced at her and tossed her another couple frogs and some smaller candies.

Anya quickly flipped out 2 cards before lifting her hand. As he choked she looked at him concerned She didn't know if she could pull off cpr so she oped he'd be ok. After a moment she raised her eyebrow at his response. " So I take it you think he should have met with her?"
She finally looked at her cards, she had a pair of 2s and a pair of 5s. Shrugging and taking a risk she put down one. Right at that moment he tossed more candy in her lap with a pure smile she nodded and took a card from the deck. She stared for a moment before shuffling her cards around, before opening a candy and slipping it in her mouth.

Kennedy picked up his cards and shook his head. He got another ten and another Ace. While his mind mentally calculated the chance she had two aces and 3 kings or a royal flush... "Ill up you 5 chocolate frogs and a pack of swivel sticks."
He smirked. "You don't tell von no when she gives an order." He grinned. "Marc's about as good as dead now." He closed his hand and waited for her move.
With a glance around he frowned. He really should have been finding Von... or killing Quill. He sighed. He knew eventually von would tell him to get marc. And then it occurred to him... Poor von was gonna get stood up... He frowned... he would have to go drag marc kicking and screaming.

She took the card and frowned at the 4. Two pair wasn't bad, but wasn't that great. " Call." She tossed what ever was in her lap into the pile. " Well she can't do too much damage from what I could see. The guy's all torn up. And I don't think he's too keen on you either."
She watched Kenny, curious to see how exactly he felt about the situation. She laid out her two pairs.

He shook his head with a grin and laid down his hand. He shrugged carefully and started to pull the pot toward him. He tossed them back in the bag and gave her another handful of candy to eat or bet as she pleased. He pulled the cards toward him and shuffled. He pondered his answer... Bridging the cards he sighed. Once the cards were in order he tossed a blood pop into the pot to anti up.
"Von won't hit you.... she will convince you that you are worth nothing and make you hit you... and at the end you will think it was your idea." He pulled up the side of his mouth into a grin, he dealt the cards.
Setting the deck aside he glanced at his cards. "As for me... Marc doesn't like me because von does... plus... i haven't really made his life a walk in the park." He wasn't pleased with his cards. He had a king... He kept that and a ten (sorry these are jacks luff...i have a problem calling jacks... jacks XDD) showed her he was taking three and then did so. He waited for her to tell him how many she wanted xD

Anya snagged her cards and thought. She tossed a small package of Bertie Botts into the pile and kept a pair of Queens asking for 3. "That sounds awful! Why would she want to do such a thing?"
She shook her head curious why anyone would wish to be with a person like that. " I had figured as much jealousy can be such an ugly thing. So what do you plan to do?" She then tossed in a small thing of Lemon snaps.

He dealt her her three cards and then pondered his own. He had nothing... He got a 2 a 5 and a 6. He stared at the lemon drops. "Because she can." He glanced up with a grin. Von was a witch sometimes... but she was his best friend... and she was easily the funniest person he knew... and he respected her because she did what she wanted.
He raised an eyebrow at the hufflepuff. And then he glanced back at his cards... nope they hadn't change. "What do i plan to do? Im going to match your lemon drops and raise you a chocolate frog."

She took her three cards and got a 9,6 and 3. At his response she shook her head. " No one can have that kind of power over you unless you let them. Least that's what my father and the shrink tell me." She glared at the cards and then at her pile of candy.
She smiled at his light tone and matched his offer. "Call." She laid out her pair of Queens. Anya was a sucker for a full house and usually tried to get one when she had an option.

Kenny laid down his crappy hand and waited for her to realize he had started to bluff. "That is true... but von gives you that option... if you don't wanna play her game... she finds a way to make you want to play a different game that has the same rules... She is super smart and sly... but yes.... She can't do anything if you decide you don't want anything to do with her...but once she has her claws in... its very hard to shake her." He grinned lightly and set her deck aside.
Pushing himself up he stretched. "I don't play anymore after i lose a hand... i would hate to get in a funk... but we will have to do this again... And remember when playing solitaire... the card you need is always under the one you cant move...." He winked and eyed his bag of candy... "Think you can take care of this bag." He nodded.
"Ive gotta go pull marc out of his hide y-hole."

Anya looked up as he laid down his cards and smiled pulling the pot to her. As he stood and stretch she shielded her eyes against the sun to look at him. " I enjoyed the hands. And thanks for the advice." She looked at the bag with wide eyes. " You sure? And if you ever want some you're more than welcome to it."
As he spoke of Marc and bit her bottom lip. " Why not let her do that? If she wants him." She sighed heavily and just put the candy in the bag and placed her cards away. Perhaps she'd just go to the library and ignore the drama unfolding around her.
