Nevada took the stairs one at a time, a hand trailing the cool wall of the cove. They said she had come to find her partner and well...She was really in no hurry to do so. A yawn escaped the lower she descended, heavy lidded violet eyes scanned as she finally hit the bottom stair and wandered the large room. A wall of stone, carved with runes she couldn't identify loomed over her. If she looked closer though, the wall indented and inside it was tiny tablets with runes and markings of weapons.

Her finger trailed over the wall as she traced the outline of what seemed like a sword.

/Not that one Pidge/

The voice was amused and yet demanding. A bare whisper inside her mind as she blinked. Of course her hand pulled away to look around and yet no one occupied the cove but herself. Curious and curiouser. The young huntress smiled again and traced her finger from the sword tablet to a hammer, it warming under her skin.

/Not that one either poppet. He's too burly for a pretty dame like yourself../

“Oh? I didn't know I was to pretty for stone...” Her tone held amusement of a young woman, carefree almost. Her hand heated under the hammer as if it yearned for her.

/Why would you want some brawling brute like him Pidge? I'm much more...elegant. More practical for a ghoul like yourself/

“I don't know, I want a weapon that'll do the work for me darling. I'm not much of a...” Nevada searched for the right word before smiling, “brawler myself. Wouldn't a heavier weapon be better to fight with?”

/are you dumb ghouly? How the jack would you be toting around a large a** hammer be you not doing the work? No what you need is to come closer to me, come on pidge. I'm a real weapon...One that'll do most of the work for you./

“Well, deal then my vocal little friend. Please direct me to you and we can get this gig started with.” Nevada chuckled as she traced her hands over the tablets.

/Closer and closer Dame/ The tablets heated as she traced one weapon after another after another, small pistol, large katana, polearm, axe, sword, chucks, nets.../THERE/

She stopped on the shape of a long gun with a circled barell, /Ah, your a pretty piece of flesh Dame. What's your name?/

“Nevada. Like the state.”

/Awful name. I'll just call you whatever I want Dame. You mind pulling me out? I'm a little stuffed in here and well...I'm itching for a little more action then a stone wall with these other blokes. Whatchu say pidge?/

“I don't think your really giving me a choice are you?” She tapped the stone and thought long and hard about it....

It ended up taking her thirty minutes and a quick cat nap on the cool tile floor to figure out that maybe it was time to take the thing out. Whatever it was.

/I can't believe you fell asleep on me! I never been so shamed that I put a ghoul to sleep. Hurry up and pull me out before I decide that I don't want to waste time with you!/

A yawn escaped as the girl made some sort of muffled sounds and then snickered. “I have nothing but time to waste though. If we're going to be partners...you'd think you would be able to handle...” Nevada smile widened. “Okay...I accept you as my partner.” A small flash of light as the stone disappeared and the girl's hand sunk into space. When she felt the rub of metal against her hand, she gripped tight before pulling the long gun out, bring her other hand up to hold the rest of it.

She recognized the weapon from those old mob movies and felt her smile truly widen. “Does this mean that I get a fancy flapper outfit and feather boa?”

/Sure Doll, Whatever you want./ The weapon seemed to fit so easily into her mind and sunk like a stone. Amused again, Nevada tilted the gun up and rested it on her shoulder.

“So you got a name partner?”

/Leroy Pidge. Leroy 'the snake' William the III.../

“That's a hell of a long name Roy boy. I think I'll just stick to Roy then.”

/Whatever Dame. Let's get out of the pit, I wanna see the world./

“Uh that sounds like too much work Roy. how about a bed. That sounds better. Or maybe a couch....”
