It wasn’t hard to see that this was all Kennedy’s fault. Marc stared at his frog and frowned. Him and Kennedy were seated outside the headmasters office. It was the day before they went home… and somehow… Kenny had made life hell for them both. Marc glanced up with a frown. “Good going…” He sighed and glanced at the solid oak door. They were in serious trouble.

Kennedy glanced at marc and the scuffed his foot in frustration. Only marc was supposed to get caught. He sighed as he tried to figure out what had gone wrong. It all started with him heading down to the hufflepuff basement…. He stood out there and yelled for marc for like an hour. Grinning as he remembered the other student’s faces he waited.

Marc pushed out of the basement a disgruntled look on his face. “What in the name of merlin are you doing?” When kennedy simply stared at him he shook his head. “Do you honestly think that I want to talk to you. Im done with all this drama… ill find new friends. I don’t need you… or von.” With a nod he turned to head back to his common room.

Kennedy called out to stop him. “Hey…im sorry for all the s**t I put you through… but grow a back bone will you. ..Im here on Von’s behalf… I was asked to give this to you.” He twitched a red envelop. It was obviously a howler. “Trust me… you want to hear this howler.” He grinned. “Come out and we can head to the music room so you don’t have to get embarrassed.” He winked and turned to start toward the music room.

Marc reached out but snapped his hand back when Kenny turned. “Fine… but if this is some stupid joke im gonna … i… ” He grit his teeth… he wasn’t a violent person, but he was so done with Kennedy. Carefully he stepped into the open and trailed after Kenny… Once they reached the music room and he was seated on the lounging couch he reached out his hand for the howler.

Kenny smirked as he handed it over. He waited and it opened and out came a voice. It sounded like von if you were expecting it to be von, he would have to pay the other girl later. The howler went on:
“Marc, I needed to send you something to tell you how I feel about you… All my emotions are for you and I want you to be my boyfriend… all I need is the noses off of 7 of the statues around the castle. Bring them to me and I will make sure I have something special for you.”
Kenny tried to hide his smile… He should be angry. And so he schooled his features and then looked at marc, Anger written on his face “Damn… should have said no… when she asked me to bring it to you…”

Marc was grinning ear to ear. “All I have to do is get her some stupid statue noses and she said she would be my girlfriend.” He glanced at Kennedy. “Im sorry you had to hear that…”He frowned “but…um maybe you could help me pick the statues?” Marc frowned and reached for his bag. “The sooner we get started the better. ” He stood… “I know a really big nosed statue down the hufflepuff hallway….” He nodded. “It will be perfect for our first statue.”

Kenny nodded and then glanced around the room. “I think you should do that… But I can’t help…that would go against the rules… or at least I would guess it would. ” He shrugged. “You can do it by yourself… but I think you should go for the goblin statue in the courtyard…” He grinned thinking about it… a teacher walked by at least once every twenty minutes or so… He would get caught… easily. With that he nodded. “Im gonna… well… im gonna go sulk… don’t mind me…” He glanced toward the door and walked out it… far enough that he could trail the other boy. No one said he couldn’t watch from afar.

Marc just watched him go. He would go get that goblin nose… It wouldn’t be hard… but he would have to hit the library first… to figure out a slicing spell… With that giggle of hope he headed out of the music room. He turned left and headed silently down the hall. While he waited for the staircase to finish moving he whistled. He couldn’t believe all it would take would be a couple noses. He climbed the stairs to the Library and entered went straight to looking for his spell.

Kennedy raised an eyebrow when he watched Marc go the wrong way until he watched the boy head into the Library. Kenny was mildly surprised… At least the bugger was thinking. It would take him less time to cast a spell instead of hacking away with a hammer. He shrugged and settled in to wait for him to leave the library.

Marc said the word 100 times. Then motioned his wand 100 times… ok he had it… With a glance around the library he stretched and put the book back onto the shelf where he found it. Diffindo… he nodded. It should work perfectly. He would get the goblin statue first. With a glance both ways marc headed toward the courtyard. He descended the moving stairs to the main floor and made it to the court yard in very little time… He glanced around at all the different statues… And then his eyes fell on the Goblin. Its nose was so big it should just fall off.
Marc glanced around once more to make sure no teachers were in sight. And then he carefully pulled out his wand. He made a go for the statue. When he came face to face, or nose to nose if you enjoy a pun, he flicked his wand whispering “Diffindo”. It took half a second for the whole goblin to shatter into a million little pieces. Marc stared at it… to stunned to move. And then it hit him… not only did he not have his nose… he had just made so much noise that all the teachers would be on him in a matter of moments.

Kennedy stood to follow marc. He had hit the door way to the court yard when he heard the noise. Jogging t get a better look his brown eyes widened. And he laughed. Hysterically. He couldn't help it.
And at the same time as marc it occurred to him he needed to hide. Not taking his eyes off marc he turned to walk away and ran smack dabb into a professor. He stared up and shook his head. He was in big trouble now. The professor indicated they should follow.
Glancing at Marc who was staring in horror at the professor Kenny sighed and shrugged... nothing to do but follow after the irate professor.

Marc stood there... looking at kenny... looking at the pile of rubble that used to be a statue... then to the professor. What had he done... How could Kenny just stand there and laugh? And then it all fit... Kenny had set him up... if he thought about it that letter had sounded to nasally to be von... and Kenny had set him up.
He had to resist the urge to bawl his eyes out. He had never been so hurt. Carefully he grabbed a handful of the rubble and followed after kenny and the teacher.
