Amadeus made sure never to fly between the sun and his prey. If ever they caught sight of his shadow, the mistake would cost him a good meal. Luckily, Amadeus had learned to hunt from the best: his parents. He kept low to the trees, though never brushing against the tallest of the branches, while he watched the relatively small herd of deer, all grazing inattentively. He picked the easiest kill. It was close to the edge of the forest; closer than the rest, in fact, and at a bit of a distance from them.
Amadeus flew a few yards higher before turning to face the deer directly. After a few short moments of mental preparation, he flew straight at it. The deer didn't know what had hit it. Amadeus flew at incredible speed, coming at the animal from behind and hitting it, first and foremost, with his claws and teeth bared. They both fell to the ground, the deer quickly dying. Meanwhile, the rest of the herd panicked and fled.

Isabella moved quietly and slowly through the brush. She had been starving for some time now and finally caught a break. She had spotted a herd of deer grazing nearby which provided the perfect chance to get something to eat. She couldn't help the smile that crossed her face as she made her way closer to the the one she had picked out. Moving quietly she slid through the trees getting as close as she could then took off after the animal. She was always a better hunter from the ground. Trouble was, she never thought of looking up to see if there was anyone else interested in her meal. Just as she was about to take down the animal another Deava came out of no where and snatched it up. If she didn't stop she would end up flying right into the Deava... only problem was that she couldn't stop, so she opened her wings and ended up sailing over the two and landing about a foot away looking rather annoyed with what just happened. Well... annoyed... And pissed.

Something, perhaps instinct, told Amadeus to duck his head just after pouncing on the deer and killing it quickly. Soon afterwards he realized why: another 'Daeva flew right over his head. She landed close by and Amadeus could tell she seemed rather... angry? Yeah, she was probably pretty angry. It seemed, he deduced, that she had been aiming for the same deer; he had only gotten to it a mere moments sooner.
Amadeus watched the other 'Daeva, a vixen of a darker shade of blue than he was, wondering what her next move was. He didn't really have to look around to know that the rest of the deer herd had already moved on from the area, frightened by the appearance of the two 'Daevas and the death of their prey. So he eyed the vixen warily, his front two paws pressing down possessively on the hide of his kill.

Jut who the hell did this guy think he was? Waltzing into HER hunting area and killing HER lunch. That kill was suppose to be HERS. She had been the one stalking them all day and then he just comes out of no where... Ohhh... not cool. Of course her anger replaced her smarts at the moment so the fact that this place was in fact free for all did not occur to her at all. Glaring at the male she completely ignored his looks and walked right over to him not at all phased by him.
"Just what the hell do you think your doing?" She glared at him.

Amadeus raised an eyebrow at the clearly pissed off 'Daeva. There was no way he was going to hear the end of this from her; she clearly wanted restitution. Psh, like he was going to pander to this girl's wishes. As far as Amadeus was concerned, it was first come first serve. Sure, he probably would have felt differently had the roles been reversed but... They weren't, so why dwell on the possibilities?
"At the moment," his reply began, "I believe I'm protecting my lunch from an angry female." Amadeus watched her cautiously, unsure about what she might do next.

"Your lunch?" She glared. "Your lunch?" She growled as she stormed closer to the male and stood only a foot from him. "That was suppose to be my lunch, until you flew in out of no where and ruined everything!" She put her right front paw down in anger. "I've been stalking that group of deer for most of the day waiting for the right moment to strike!" Her tail whipped angrily behind her. "I demand that you give me whats mine!"

Amadeus tilted his head to the side; he wasn't intimidated in the slightest by this other 'Daeva, but he was hoping her anger would subside soon so he could get back to his meal. He liked his food as fresh as possible, after all.
Then again, it may be fun to get a rise out of her, Amadeus thought with a smirk. "I don't see why it took you so long," he replied calmly. "I circled the clearing only twice before attacking, and I got here first. Besides, the meal doesn't go to the fox who, rather foolishly, invested more time into the hunt, but the fox who actually kills the prey."

Isabella gaped at the male. Did he just insult her? She just stood there gaping at the male. He did! And he called her a fool! She was not a fool! in fact she was vary far from being foolish of any kind! Growling lowly she tried to think of something to say back to the cunning male standing in front of her. Sadly... that was not turning out so well.
"You... I... Grah!" She stuttered. "A good hunter takes their time and waits for the perfect moment to strike!" She threw back at him. "I was waiting for the right moment to strike till you fumbled in and ruined everything! And I WOULD have killed it if YOU hadn't come along!" She defended.

Amadeus smirked a little, finding it fun that he was annoying her to such an extent. "It seems to me like you missed this perfect moment. Not exactly the habit of a good hunter," he replied, his voice clearly much calmer than hers. "And I don't fumble when I hunt. My dive was precise and the kill was perfect." Amadeus was rather proud of himself. "I don't doubt that you would have killed him, but you didn't." He shrugged. "That means he's mine. Perhaps I'll share him with you." Amadeus examined the other 'Daeva thoughtfully. "But then, perhaps I won't. I don't see why I should." He stood protectively over the main body of the carcass.

Was he smirking at her? She narrowed her eyes as she looked at him and the amused look on his face. Oh he was! He was smirking at her! Wait, why was he smirking at her? She just unloaded on him. If anything he should feel like crap! No, he should be cowering in fear of her! She was strong! She was independent! She was... Her stomach growled. Hungry! Curse that suave good looking male! She was about to say something when he poked fun at her hunting skills. She gaped.
"I am an excellent hunter!" She growled. "I have hunted all around this area and know it like the back of my paw." She stomped her right front paw for effect, though she didn't seem to be making a dent at all. He even complemented himself. "Oh you wish." Was her sarcastic comment to his speech about his so called perfect dive. Ok, so maybe it was perfect, in fact it was flawless but like hell she was going to tell HIM that.
"Ha! I wouldn't share a meal with you if you were the last 'Daeva on the planet." She turned her head. Of course at that exact moment her stomach decided it was going to speak on its own. Her stomach growled loudly and it wasn't just a simple growl, oh no. It was one that made a statement for all to hear. One that said 'I haven't eaton in days'. At that she couldn't help the surprised and slight embarrassed look as her tail fell between her legs. "Well poop..."

Amadeus tilted his head to one side, his keen ears clearly picking up the rumbling in this other 'Daeva's stomach. He raised a questioning eyebrow. "If you're such a great hunter," he questioned, "how is it that you've let yourself get this hungry?"
Amadeus considered his options. He could ignore her and just eat, or he could actually share his meal with her. He hadn't seriously planned on the latter until he noticed how hungry she really was. But he had a soft side. Must be from the 'Phim side of his family, even though Amadeus seriously doubted that h is father would care enough to share. Either way, he really wanted to start eating himself.
"Look," Amadeus began, "I can't, in good conscience, just let you go hungry. Or, eat in front of you. So, here." He dug his claws into the flesh of the deer's flank and ripped off a large chunk of raw meat and tossed it in her direction. It landed with a thud at her feet. "You can accept it, or don't," he said. "But I'm going to eat now." And with that, he took a bit of the deer for himself.

Isabella couldn't help but notice that he had heard her stomach. Well that was just great. No doubt he would make fun of her, or worse. She glanced away when he asked his question. It was a simple one with a simple answer. "My luck as of late, hasn't been good." And it was true. In the past few days she just couldn't find anything and when she did it had been stolen. She looked away not wanting to show any weakness and knowing she was defeated turned to leave when he spoke.
"What?" She glanced back at him when he spoke to her. The next thing she knew a large chunk of meat landed at her feet. She blinked for a moment then looked at him. He had started to eat. She looked back at the chunk at her feet, her stomach growling. She was starving and couldn't help the savage way she tore into the meat. Hey, she was starving. With in seconds the meat was gone.

Amadeus was digging into the carcass for a while, but looking up to chew, he glanced back at the other 'Daeva. He swallowed what was in his mouth and chuckled lightly. "Done already?" He said. Amadeus looked at her expectantly for a moment. "Well, did you want more?" He moved over to one side, leaving space on the body for her to eat from. "You can get more yourself."
He continued to eat more, feeling himself quickly getting full. After a few more bites, Amadeus was done. He stepped back and just sat there, watching the female continue to eat. She was quite the pretty vixen, and clearly feisty and independent. Amadeus liked that.

She licked her chops after devouring the chunk of meat the male cut for her. To actually get something in her stomach for a change felt good. She couldn't help but glance over at the male as he ate. She couldn't believe he shared with her. It wasn't like their kind to do much sharing. She was still hungry but she knew how agressive 'Daevas could get about their food. She happened to be the same way unless she agreed to share. She blushed lightly when he looked at her and chuckled because of how fast she had eaton.
"What?" She asked a bit flustered with a hint of annoyance in him chuckling at her because she had scarfed down her food. "I was hungry." She said simply with a flick of her tail. When he asked if she wanted more her ears shot up and she had to keep herself from rushing over. Rather then rush over she kept control. She eyed him a little, taking in his looks as she walked around him calmly and cooly, trying to look profeshonal.
"I suppose I'm still a little hungry." She walked around him and seated herself and dug into the part he had left for her. Ok, so this guy wasn't that bad at all.

After a while Amadeus decided to stop staring at her. He was curious to find out more about her, but watching her eat wouldn't teach him anything. "So, who do I have the pleasure of sharing my meal with?" He asked, even if she was still in the middle of eating. Before she could even respond though, he continued talking. "My name is Amadeus. I'm a bit of a traveler, which is why you've never seen me in this hunting ground that you know so well. I enjoy exploring new places, but I'm never too far away from home. That is, the area my parents settled down in when raising me. What about you?"
