There was a distant hubbub, cheers, at first, and Harrison stirred suspiciously. "Portals back up?" and it was too good to be true but hell. Maybe the Life techs had finally done something right-

The shade of the cheers twisted into screams, and before he knew it fast, grey hands were snaking into the tent, and the fog was billowing thickly up-

He grabbed Rep's arm the same time Rep grabbed his.

Jordan- Jordan was near the mouth of the tent-

He barely had time between that thought and the next as he was yanked painfully from the cot, and as his ribs smacked against the floor it pushed the air out of him. He tried to nail B0nez into the ground, at first, but it was pulling him faster and faster and towards a ring of light, his breathing was shallow and dizzy- and it was all he could do to keep his hand fisted in Rep's shirt-

He felt himself spat up onto a grey carpet, next to a rotted recliner.

When the cheers started, Jordan looked up curiously; as they changed to screams, his first instinct was to head for the noise, find out what was going on, find out if he could help. Before he could take more than a step towards the tent flap, though, it opened itself, and the hands came darting in under a billow of fog, snake-fast and unexpected. Two of them latched onto his leg, and he was hauled roughly and unceremoniously off his feet.

As he was yanked out of the tent, he could see others being grabbed. s**t - get out of there - he prayed, and in the next instant felt the swallowing weightless jolt of portal, and then a dizzying grey nothing.

He landed hard on a flat surface barely softened by some kind of carpet, and lay there for a few seconds, trying to catch the breath that had been knocked out of him.

Rep had perked up at the idea of the portals being back online. He wouldn't have minded getting back home from this foggy grey nightmare. But all too quickly it turned out that good things really didn't ******** happen to them as hands snatched people away right before his eyes. He didn't think to summon Tracey in the instant, instead his first instinct being to seize hold of Harrison - he was done losing things. Jordan though, he'd been over by the door hadn't he?

There was no one there anymore, just a writhing mass of grey. There was no time even for a sense of panic as everyone's problem very swiftly became theirs. A tentacle wrapped around his ankle and he panicked, kicking out hard, trying to shake it off, but to no avail - it didn't relent and was quickly joined by another appendage. A hand seized his other foot as he was wrenched unceremoniously off the cot along with Harrison. With his free hand he tried for a helpless moment to get traction with his nails, but simply managed to cut his fingertips on the ground. It was hopeless, wherever they were going, they didn't get a say, all he could do was hold on.

There was a moment of nothing. It could have been a second, it could have been a week.

All that mattered was that he still had his hand clenched around Harrison's jacket as the blackness receded. But he could feel and smell carpet against his cheek. Old musty carpet, it was kind of familiar. He'd almost have thought he had landed back in his old fusty house, woken up from the bizarre rollercoaster ride of being a hunter if it wasn't for the jacket held in his hand, the warmth of another body nearby.

It gave him the courage to open his eyes, the first thing visible to him that ******** swirling fog all over again. "Where ..the ******** are we now?"

Jerry had little time to respond as suddenly Jordan was there, beside him and then suddenly.... gone.

He lurched to his feet, Roar on hand before suddenly the screams resonated louder, tentacles of fog ripping Hunters away left and right- with his own yell of alarm, he fired wildly but it didn't do much good- it was soon tight around his middle and he was sent tumbling as well....

He landed on plush carpet, shifting mists, his glasses sent tumbling next to his weapon as he groaned, sprawled out and wondering what had just happened.

"H-hello??" He managed, squinting blindly as he groped for his lost lenses, "J-jordan? Rep? Harri?"

Harrison groaned and rolled over. "Somebody's trailer." The cheap carpet and smoke-clouds were familiar, and at least it wasn't cold anymore. He raised his voice, "What the hell did I say about calling me Harry, goddamn."

He hesitated before letting go of Rep, then pushed himself onto his knees, holding his ribs and catching his breath.

He scowled. "Makes our names sound like they belong in a nursery rhyme together."

He felt better, weirdly.

We're at 100%, B0nez added, I am, anyway.

"Wh-where the hell is Jordan?"

There was something comforting about joking about the bizarre situation they once again found themselves in, enough that a little of the nervousness seemed to melt away from Rep as he too disentangled himself and sat up. Jerry was there too, that was good - strength in numbers, and he felt at least that he could trust the other man with his back, if he blew it up it at least probably wouldn't be intentional.

That left Jordan unaccounted for - something he noticed almost the exact moment that Harrison did.

"He was in the tent, he can't be far." he said tersely. He wasn't about to lose Jordan again, not after the hive. His confusion was rendered irrelevant as he got to his feet. "Jer, is Jordan with you?"

Jerry relaxed slightly at the sound of familiar voices, scrambling to catch up with the other two. "He... he was right by me when he got grabbed! He... he can't be far." The panic was threatening to build up again, but... Jordan was resilient. He'd be fine if something had... gone awry. Right?

Roar was out and armed, all the same.

There were voices in the fog, and for once, they were familiar voices, not hissing, whispering promises that stayed just out of hearing. Jordan picked himself up carefully. "I'm here," he said loudly, and moved towards the sound. It only took a few steps before figures began to resolve out of the grey blur.

"Mental note," he said as he joined them. "Can't see s**t in this stuff. You guys okay?" He wanted to pull his guys into a hug, reassure himself they were there and real, but he wouldn't do that in front of Jerry; it would be awkward all around.

"Fine," Harrison said, "********, am I glad to hear your voice. Can't see three feet in this s**t."

He stood- Jordan was okay. Jerry was here.

Nobody else was volunteering their location, though. The whole damn camp had been dragged- dragged where?

He'd almost think they were outside, but he got the distinct feeling they were inside, like there was a ceiling just out of sight. B0nez was still in his hand, glow barely cutting through the murk. The main blade swung from his sash.

He examined the solitary, rotted chair, but not too long. He felt himself shiver, even though it wasn't cold any more. He didn't want to go looking under cushions any time soon.

"Wherever we are, I don't want to stick around too long. We- got to find the other guys. We don't want to get stuck if HQ sends a rescue squad."

Unless there was a wipe, B0nez said.

Jordan's voice was a weight of relief off his shoulders, enough to clear his head of the pressing worry that had occupied all of his attention. He took stock of where they were. Indoors yet not. Old, fusty. It seemed like the haunted house but everything was all wrong still and that ******** fog still lowered the visibility to next to nothing.

Rep nodded grimly as he eyed their surroundings. There was no reason to stay here and he had no intention to if he could humanly avoid it. Sitting around like prey with those mad fog things charging around and no idea if there was a base to fall back to, didn't appeal in the slightest.

Almost as an afterthought he moved to summon Tracey, glad there was at least room to do so, the lack of ceiling and conventional walls a small blessing in that respect. His runes seemed dimmer thanks to the fog, it unsettled Rep quite a bit.

"Aye. I'm awrite too." he offered. "Better than before I got hauled through that ******** portal even - though I get the feeling aye, we won't be okay for long if we stick around."

He peered hopefully into the fog. Let there be life out there that isn't insanity ********, he thought miserably - he didn't fancy being the last bastion of humanity out here in the ******** creepy mists. A world without bitches would be an improvement, but who would make all the delicious food?

"Is it just me or are there lights out there?"

Melvin had been entering the tent after a run in with a few monsters and had not observed much other than the fact that he was still terrified of old houses and that fog was rather solid when it came at you wanting to rip your face off. Thinking himself safe in the tent, he say a moment and raised his head only when the techs cheered that the portals were now up and running. A momen of jealousy and envy passed through him, wishing he could help with the other techs, to be out of fog duty, and take part in the feeling of achievement.

As it was, he wa at least happy the portal was up and hopes that meant that the mission was over. Saliva whined that he wasn't more willing to go out shooting till the end, but he felt more rattled than fired up. Saliva, as fate would have it, would get her way. Large tentacles spilled out, sweeping under cots and wrapping over ankles and wrists. A tentacle wrapped around his leg, chest, te neck. It seems too many to be in the room, and gasping for air, he tried to call out over the sounds of shouting orders, swears, and chorus of weapons. Dragged over, he was sucked in the portal.

When he woke, he was in the floor and no longer bound. He took a deep breath, choughed, then sat up slowly. He did a body check to make sure he was in one, un-violated piece and looked around.

"Great. More fog." But he was alone and he realized he had no backup. No senior hunter to shield him or deliver the blows. It was just him, a worm gun, and his shitty aim.

Rising slowly, he summoned his gun and slowly started to move in hopes of finding a exit. He was afraid to call out and then risk getting swarmed. He wasn't going to die this mission. He haut couldn't - as if he really had a say in this.

It probably didn't help to a certain group of hunters nearby to see a figure approach them in the fog.

"Looking around is better than hanging out with the moldy chair, anyway," Jordan said, eyeing it as though it might bite. On seeing it, he'd had a brief, too-vivid memory of the stomach-turning sight of an old couch filled with bugs; he wasn't getting anywhere near the thing.

He summoned Ferros. While he had the vague sense that they were inside a room of some sort, there was enough space for Ferros, and the hammer's weight in his hand was reassuring.

"Lights?" He turned to peer out into the fog, straining his eyes for any sign of the lights Rep had seen. Before he saw the lights, though, his attention was caught by a figure moving slowly through the fog towards the group. "Guys," he said sharply, and took a step back, bringing Ferros into a ready position.

"Who's there?" he called towards the shape.

Jerry whipped around, Roar in hand and glowing fiercely although the light from teh weapon's "eyes" was not enough to permeate the mist around them.

He was ready to fire at any given moment, his hands and face trembling as he searched the area...

Harrison stuck with the one, lighter weapon.

He scanned too, on edge.

"Looks like- that somebody's weapon?"

His shoe kicked something over, some bandaids from the infirmary, it looked like. One wasn't glowing anymore. Used. And the other two...there was something off about them. They were glowing, at least. He bent to pocket them, still looking at the soft green, eerie light.

Melvin almost dropped his gun when he heard someone up ahead. Squinting through the fog, he wondered if he saw shapes or if his eyes were playing tricks on him.

Stopping, he held his gun out. "Melvin. Who are you?"

Geez. Calm down. Your shaking is making me sick.

He took a breathe to steady his hands.
