Haides trekked across the Greater Herd Plains, sighing. It was too hot; the sun was beating down horribly on his dark coat. Maybe he should've stuck to night traveling, but that would've messed up his sleep schedule. That, and night travel was difficult, especially when walking on uneven terrain.
He saw several Azrien, but none approached him, so he just continued walking in silence. He had no problem with that. It gave him the opportunity to focus on finding shade. Eventually his search led him to a large oak tree, which he chose as his place to rest. He laid down before looking around him at all of the other Azrien in his sight. A little voice in his head that sounded obnoxiously like Beta encouraged him to go out and meet some of them. But he didn't: he was hot, and he didn't feel like leaving the shade to meet some Azrien who would likely think him strange.
