When she finally did manage to return to her room, Freya looked like she'd just fought a war. Her face was pale and lined with tears, her hair was out of it's braid and sticking out at all ends, and her entire body was shaking. She barely made it to the dorm before opening the door, and stopping there.

She touched the half open door, and a bittersweet laugh left her lips. It was followed by a sob, and then silence.

She closed the door behind her, but couldn't be bothered to lock it. The moment the door was closed, Freya fell face down onto the floor like a log, and remained there.

She wished her kind could die. She welcomed the blissful peace of death. No aching, broken heart. She wished, and wished, and wished.

But in the end she just lay there, and lived.

Freya, in her state, probably wouldn’t realize that she wasn’t alone in her room…and that her room wasn’t quite as messy as when she left.

A dark head poked up from the kitchenette area at the sound of a door closing, a sob, and then a heavy thump. Hel’s brows were furrowed, and she tossed some shards of glass into the trash can before she straightened, dusting her hands on her tunic. Hrm. Something was wrong…even more wrong…but Hel knew that before Freya even returned. Just look at her room, after all.

The ghoul quietly padded out of the kitchenette and approached her fallen sister. She stared down at her for a long while, her lips twisting, before she knelt beside her, and rested her hand on her shoulder.

What happened?” Her voice was calm.

"AAAAACHHHHHHH!!!!!!!"

Freya convulsed like a dying fish as she tried to sit up and see the intruder, her heartbeat rising to a mile a minute in surprise. Both of her hands were in front of her face in karate chop style when she finally started to realize it was just her sister, and she sagged back down to the floor and fell in a lump.

"HEL!" She cried out in surprise. "Whatcyeh doings-"

She literally couldn't finish her sentence. The mere moment the shock had worn off, she was back to feeling the only thing that she could feel right now. All emcompassing heart-rending pain. So instead of talking, she just put her hands over her face and started crying. She couldn't even control herself. It was as if her body said she had to cry, right that very second.

Hel leaned just a bit away from her sister, squinting her eyes a bit as she yelled before she settled. The ghoul didn’t even seem alarmed by the raised hands, and just stared, waiting for a long moment until something rather unexpected happen. Freya broke down crying. A lot. Hel blinked, her hand still resting on her sister’s shoulder, and after a moment, she sighed softly, and tightened her hold on her sister’s thin shoulder. She pulled the ghoul to her, and then wrapped her arms tightly around her.

One hand moved to start petting the back of her head, and she waited for that time in which Freya would speak.

Freya all but jumped into Hel's arms, curling up into them for sheer desperate need. She wrapped her arms around her sister's waist, and buried her face into Hel's shoulder. It was hard to breathe. She just kept sucking in a breath, and sobbing it out again. She shook in Hel's arms, still unable to control herself in any manner.

It felt like forever before she finally calmed down enough to breathe normally, but she couldn't stop shaking. But there was a warmth spreading over her body. It wasn't comfortable, and it wasn't welcome. Her blood was boiling, overheating, and she swooned.

"Unnngghh." The ghoul pulled one hand away to rub her head. It was swimming with pain. She couldn't open her eyes, they hurt too much. Besides, she never wanted to see the world again.

But even then, Hel's presence gave her something to hold onto. And she let out a few more tears, for a different reason. Her sister was there for her, when she needed her most.

"Is over." Freya sobbed out quietly. "Is all over. Is all over."

Hel still didn’t like touching her sister. Not when she was this thin. It disturbed her…but she was her sister, and the ghoul just knew, without even asking, that she needed to do this.

The reaper started to gently rock with her sobbing sister in her arms, just continuing to stay quiet. Her brows furrowed when Freya felt hot all of a sudden, and one arm left the thin valkyrie to start fanning the blonde’s face. The hand paused though, as Freya spoke, and her brows furrowed even more. Hel took a moment to process this, and surprisingly, she understood what Freya meant, because suddenly the entirety of the situation hit her like a ton of bricks. Hel was in Freya shoes not that long ago. Hel had gone through this already.

Deep down, the ghoul couldn’t help but be amused, not at Freya or anything, because she understood the hurt and ache her sister was feeling, but amused at the situation. She had been running to Mac for quite some time…and now it was her turn to be in his shoes…not there was much she could do. She could do that he did though, the most important thing, and that was just to be there.

Hel’s hand cupped her sister’s face, and then trailed up and across her forehead into a soothing gesture. “I am sorry, Freya.” She murmured.

When Hel cupped her face, Freya slit her eyes open, blinking the tears out of the way to look at the ghoul. She was all dark, and it reminded her of Herryk. It made her shut her eyes closed again, and she buried her face into her sisters neck.

But the presence was welcome. She needed her sister right now, and she needed the comfort and healing touch that came along with someone who loved so indiscriminately. She sniffed, and soaked in as much as she could, until a cracked voice squeaked something out.

"Hel." Freya whispered with a quiet but remarkably focused voice. "Gets the eyescream."

Oooooh yeah. Even though Hel was pretty certain she knew what happened before…this definitely sealed it. Eye scream. Been there. Done that.

Got ya.” Hel squeezed her sister for a moment before releasing the ghoul and standing. She made her way back to the kitchenette and then went to the little fridge where she pulled out a tub for her sister. Screw bowls too, okay? Hel just grabbed a spoon and then came back with it. She flopped down on the floor with Freya, pushing the tub and spoon over to her, and then sprawl out, stretching her legs in front of her and leaning back on her hands.

The ghoul was quiet for a moment, mulling over what she could say.

“…I know…it hurts, sister and I will not tell you to be happy or to get over it, because I know it does not work like that…but I do feel…it is for the best. If he could not be here for you now…then he should not there for you at all.”

Freya stayed in the exact spot on the floor Hel had left her in when her sister got up to get the eyescream. Her body kept shivering uncontrollably, as if she was cold. But all she felt was numb. She sat there, staring at her rug mournfully, until a tub of eyescream was placed in her line of vision. Her hand reached out for the spoon, and there was no hesitance. No roils of nausea at the idea of eating so much fat. There was no room in her heart for her disease ridden mental disorders. There was only the aching, jagged hole Herryk had left when he ripped himself away.

She put a mouthful of eyescream in her mouth, and brushed the tears that just kept coming away.

"Nothings about this is for anyones best." Freya's hoarse voice whispered. "He is brokens. I am brokens. And now we're just more brokens." She took another spoonful, and ate it immediately. Her eyes lifted up to look at her sister, and her brow furrowed deep. "I don't even knows who he is anymore, Hel. He didn't even wants teh touch me."

The spoon clattered down on the eyescream, and the bubbles of nausea finally made their appearance.

"Maybe.." Oh, no. Not this. Anything but this, anything but now. "Maybe he just thinks I'm fat."

…Huh.

The sudden realization that Freya was purposely eating something slapped Hel in the face. Sure, it may have not been FEAR nutritious in the least…but at least she was eating! “…Mn…it may seem like that now but…once you get on the other side of it…you will see. I felt like that too, Freya. How could…life possibly go on…or get any better after that…but it does.” She looked at her sister. “Believe me when I say it does. I am on the other side of it now…and I feel much…happier than I have in a long time.” But ah, this wasn’t about her, so Hel stopped there…only to face palm at her sister’s suggestion.

No. Freya, that is not it, and Jack, I am ******** tired of hearing about it. Freya, would I lie to you?” It was a rhetorical question. “So you must believe me when I say you are not fat…and I highly doubt the reason it fell apart was of that. So ******** knock it off with that ridiculous notion and if you ******** talk about it again, I will shove that container so far up your a** that you will be sneezing chocolate chips.”

Freya's a** clenched, and she picked up the spoon.

"Then what did happens, crumpet? Is this all my faults for not comings to him when he didn't comes teh me?" Just hearing it out loud sounded so stupid. "How could we have gone from.. just.." Her face flushed as she remembered it all, and she stabbed the eyescream with her spoon angrily, and put a giant spoonful in her mouth.

"Is just stupid. If I could understands it, this wouldn't be so hard. If I could understands why this happens, then maybe I could feels like I'm not still his."

But she did feel that way, and she hated it. She stabbed the eyescream again.

Hel could only shrug. “I dunno, Freya. You tell me why you think you are fat.” She was making a point with that statement. Some stuff just happened…even with no really logical explanation, and then Hel snorted. “I hate that, yanno? Did you really play that game? He should have come first, no she should have come first…so because I had to go first I am going to get mad at you…I hate that.” Hel reached up to rub the back of her neck, agitated. “Ya know…people like to wait around…and wait for others to take action…but then action does not end up happening, because everyone thinks that someone else will handle it…and you see what happens?”

Hel pouted. “Is it wrong to just go to someone you care about and say ‘I am hurting, please stand by my side?’ You should not wait for someone to come to you if you want them…you can not get mad, if you are playing the waiting game…” Hel smacked her forehead again. Ugh. She was rambling….Jack damn it! This was supposed to be about Freya! But saying these words out loud…it helped to reflect on some of her past experiences as well. “…I am not saying you were completely in the wrong, ya? Because…because it truly means something, when others come checking up on you without prompting.” Like when Mac came and took care of her. Completely unexpected.

She trailed off, and sighed a bit. “…Maybe you will figure it out one day…but do not murder what little thought particles you have left, alright? Some things just come in time.”

The statement stung. When did Hel become the one with all the answers? Freya stopped shoveling eyescream down her throat just to look at her sister critically. It was unnerving her, but she couldn't be unhappy about it.. because she needed it so desperately. Everything she said was right, and rational, and Freya was the opposite of rational right now.

She smirked faintly, and leaned in, kissing her sister's cheek.

Then she poked at the eyescream again, and thought hard about what her sister was trying to tell her, bit by bit. An unfortunate moment of weakness popped up, when she thought about whether it was right or wrong for her to say ‘I am hurting, please stand by my side'. She had wanted that so bad. She had wanted him by her side, forcing her to see the truth, just like Hel and Kettil had. That was where she always thought Herryk was going to be. But the first time she needed him - truly needed him, he wasn't there.

And someone else was.

Freya's eyebrows furrowed, trying not to think about that. But even as she sat there eating eyescream, she realized it felt like something was missing in the scene. As though she expected herself to be here, hurting, and she expected two people to sandwich her in determination.

And for the first time in as long as she could recall, someone was missing.

"Where's Kettil?" She regretted asking it as soon as she said it, because it wasn't the time, or the place - but he was her best friend, and he was.. he was just always there at the right time.

So she worried.

But she backtracked, so as not to look like a harlot about it.

"He's usually here this time of days, did yeh shoos him off when yeh saws my room?" She asked, casually taking another bite of eyescream.

Freya was looking at her funny, and Hel squinted back at her sister with her brows furrowed. Her expression then softened when Freya leaned in to kiss her cheek, and the ghoul huffed a bit before smirking faintly as well. She fell silent then, waiting, as Freya shoveled more of her eye scream in, and at her question, her expression pulled into one of confusion. Wait…wait, wait. She was crying about Herryk…and now she was asking about Kettil?

Hel leo-squinted at Freya for a good few minutes.

She then grinned the most obnoxious Cheshire grin in her seventeen years of existence.

She didn't know why Hel was taking so long to answer, but when that damn smile crept up her face, Freya's answering frown grew deeper, and deeper.

"Yeh stops that right now, young lady. I'm serious. Not the times nor the place, I'm just worried. I'M SERIOUS. He's usually heres and yehr not answerings whether yeh saw him or not and that makes me worry - I'M SERIOUS STOP THAT."

She flung eyescream at Hel's face.
