The woods. Eerie, cold, smells of pee. All the things Ate loved. She couldn’t understand why people grew scared of forests at night, it was peaceful, tranquil…full of dog muck. Nature at its finest. And she took all this in as she dragged on her fifth cigarette, blowing the smoke up into a hidden robins nest just above her head.
Nature.
Ate lived and breathed it…sort of. She tended to do these midnight walks when she had been over doing the pollution side of thing. Tried to make herself feel not as guilty when she was gather all the smog and filth humans and machinery left behind. She would take herself into the forest framing the outskirts of the park to the south of the city and just walk. Walk and smoke and smoke some more. It was meant to be all hers.
But on the edge of her sense she could feel the dark energy tainting her perfect moonlit scroll and spiking her aura. There would be no quite walk tonight.
There was an agent about.

Natron had taken a bit of a different patrol route today, specifically because he hadn't initially noticed any energy signatures. The forest was calming and quiet, comforting almost.
He wasn't always a fan of woods; one never knew what strange cryptids lurked there. But tonight it had seemed quiet and peaceful. Until a very strong energy signature appeared on his radar.
"Oh s**t," he whimpered to himself. He knew he was outranked, but maybe he would be lucky and the Senshi would just pass him by. Maybe. He ducked into the shadows behind a tree as a weak form of hiding.

Sadly Ate was one for sniffing out trouble, she couldnt help it! Hear a scream she comes a-running, feels a taint she tracks it on down. Sense someone hiding behind a tree, she totally throws a stick at you. She couldnt see the agent due to the shadows but his energy was like a homing beacon and for a slightly higher ranking Senshi he was like a glow stick in the night. She didnt have to see his physical form to know he was somewhere nearby and trying unsucesfully to hide. His low energy spiked her thoughts and without thinking she looked down at her fists and mounfuly unclenched them. No near death battle match for her tonight. Fudgestickles.
"You know... hiding is all well and good when you auctally have some skill to it. You, my tree hugging friend, are seriously not."
Walking in the area she twisted to look behind tress as she approched them, not quite being able to pinpoint him. But the air was humming with his chaos and she would find find him. You never know he may be a world class boxer, this little incident may not be a waste after all. She could finally have her epic show down.
"Come out sweetie, I won't hurt you...much....No? Ok you want the whole show? Ok, in the name of Ate and all that, I summon you to fight me bla bla bla...get your a** out here!" She stood hands on hips as if waiting to tell off a naughty school boy for skipping class, her heeled foot tapping the ground in fustration as she waited. Ok maybe this might not be so epic after all.

Natron swore under his breath. A lot. Why did he always seem to get in trouble when he was out alone? He could feel the aura of the stronger Senshi, and he knew she could sense him. And then she was calling out to him. "s**t s**t s**t <********>," he swore. He did not like to swear, but some situations called for it. Being cornered by someone stronger? One of those situations.
"Miss...Ate?" He guessed. He was beginning to figure out this Senshi naming scheme thing! "This, uh, this really doesn't have to come to a fight, does it?" He asked, walking out from behind the tree. "But, uh, if that's what you want, I'll give it to you!" He threatened.
Because biker outfit aside, he looked oh so horribly threatening with his dodgeball and his skinny frame. This was going to go so, so terribly badly, he knew it.

Ate stood back a little as the boy made his grand appearance and stared for a moment, one eyebrow raised, looking him over. Well, he wasn’t the worse looking agent she had ever come across and actually she did kind of dig that biker outfit. If anything good was to come out of this night it was that she needed to go shopping.
“Heh, glad you could join the party pipsqueak. Does your mommy know you go out into the woods with a….a dodge ball?” Green eyes grew misty with confusion. Ok she had defiantly seen weirder weapons in the lower ranks of the Negaverse but a dodge ball? Was that even worth carrying around? Suddenly flashes of high school memories came flooding back with a snap and she remembered just how bad being hit by one of them could be. She grimaced inwardly and took this chance to go lean against a tree nonchalantly. That’s how the cool kids did it. Always ready but letting her body relax she judged the boy before her with a smile.
“Well…it could be worse, someone had the nerve to attacked me with a paperclip the other day, but at least your weapon could actually do some damage.” A small hint of respect laced her voice as she picked at her gloves.
“You know of course all senshi have powers too, mine would kick your a** from dust to dawn but that’s hardly a fight now is it?” She stopped picking to look him dead in the eye, her lips curing up to show teeth in a mischievous grin. “How about this kid, am a lover of a fight, I crave a good battle. I don’t seek your death or destruction but just for a lesson to be learnt. To not mess with the moon court is to mess with me…for nowand you need to learn to take yourselves from where your crawled from.”
Her hand pushed herself from the tree scattering bark and dead leaves as she walked towards him. Her eyes watching for any sudden movement as she approached.
“But of course teaching you that would be a small victory, your hardly what I call a worth while fight. But you could be a little fun for a short while at least. How about this. I promise not to use my powers, and you can use that dodge ball anyway you want?” She winked at him, calm and smooth as if she were merely flirting with him and this was all a big joke.

Natron really, really, really wanted to panic and run. He was terrified of her. She was so utterly confident, he was certain she could turn him into a Nega-splat without trying.
"Right, because I totally tell my mom about-that was a rhetorical question wasn't it." He had a tendency to babble and often a reasonably literal mind. Plus, the more he watched how confident and casual she was, the surer he became that she was way, way better than he could even hope to be.
"Oh I am quite sure I could have it much worse," he agreed. He did catch the hint of respect, but he was sure it wouldn't last. Especially if this actually came to a fight. He was not a fighter.
As she approached, he froze in place, a deer in the headlights of her gaze. He was blindly terrified of her. "Well, I mean, I already am not fond of messing with the White Moon, most of you are a lot tougher than me." It was true. He'd learned very well that he wasn't a tough fighter. He'd had some luck, but only with help.
He pondered her offer. Maybe by taking magic out of the equation, they'd be a bit more level. Of course, he'd never actually had magic used on him but he didn't know. "...I think I can do that. It, er, sounds fair." They would be matching physical against physical. He could handle that, probably.

Watching the agent fidget with anxiety she couldn’t help but feel her stomach flip over with pity for him. He was just a kid, and yet here he was empowered with chaos that would make him a worthy if not indestructible foe to a lesser Senshi. The Negaverse were playing dirty tricks recruiting them so young. They had no chance; they were impressionable, fragile and unsure about their gifts.
And it would be their downfall.
“Am glad you see it my way kid, its nothing personal, but as long as I wear this uniform - ” Her hands motioned to her form in a sweeping gesture, her feet making small steps towards him. “ - I have to fight you…” Her arms tensed a little, showing what nearly 5 years of beating girls up in the rink could do for you, not to mention towing quad bikes and the general fitness you got with being a Senshi. Sure she may look like a man in drag if she wasn’t careful but her unsightly muscled arms had paid for themselves time and time again.
Though her punches didn’t rain down just yet.
Instead she chewed her lip hesitantly as she mulled him over again, her hands clenching a little as she pondered her next step. If she were in charge she would never let this agent go out alone just yet. He was too wet behind the ears and needed guidance. Although the nagging feeling of being a traitor still gnawed at her mind she couldn’t help feeling protective over the young. She knew that no matter what the future held for her she would still feel this caring need on either side she fought for.
“…why do you do it kid? Knowing what might happen when you pull out that…dodge ball. Are you not scared? Or does the thought of not obeying your generals cause you more fear than running into someone like me?” As if to prove her point she quickly moved to his side bringing her knee to connect neatly with his stomach.

"I totally understand, I feel the same way." Ate seemed nice enough, it was too bad she was a space invader. Otherwise they might have been friends.
Oh good Lord she was built, he realized. He'd mentally classified most Senshi as petite girls in cute skirts, but Ate definitely looked like she could do him some serious harm with her fists alone, now that he looked. s**t, s**t, s**t, he was in deeper trouble than he thought.
The question of why he fought was a good one. Of course, her kneeing him in the stomach drove her point of how thoroughly outmatched he was. He swung his hands at her, dodgeball held out, as he caught his breath to answer. "'M not...scared of them," he said. "Painite was the first person...to put faith in me; Benitoite too. Don't...want to disappoint them, so I do what I can to help the cause." He said. "Plus...get to beat up crazy space chicks." Ate, of course, didn't quite fall under "crazy," but he'd encountered Senshi that definitely did.
It was true, too. He was the crazy conspiracy theorist, the weird kid, the one that people laughed at before they talked to him. It was strange, out of his depth, to know that not one, but two Negaverse Generals had seen potential in him. Certainly there was an amount of faith inherent in leading a MUFON branch, but really all he did was attempt to keep people on topic.

Without thinking he could move that fast Ate flinched under the hit as the dodge ball found its mark. Beginners luck and all that. But Ate defiantly felt the impact of the sports toy land on her neck and shoulders as she was caught in his roundhouse swing. She side stepped away before he could land in another blow and cricked her neck slowly. It wasn’t that she thought he had done any damage but still being walloped with a hard ball was enough to knock some sense in you.
“Heh, good shot kid. But not good enough…” She moved around him as quickly as she could, preparing to chase his back if he moved before she landed a punch towards his right kidney. If she had meant the hit he would be peeing blood for a week, but she still couldn’t see the boy giving her a decent fight so she held back as she connected with him.
“Didn’t your Pain-nite teach you how to fight? Or that Ben-gi-onite? Huh? I think you’re doing more than disappointing them right now!” She bounced back heavy on her feet; one thing Ate was not was light and airy. She was a power machine but that also so meant she could be slow. She knew her weakness having them shown to her not only here in a fight but on the derby court as well. She knew how to hit hard and to take a beating but if it was a prolonged fight fatigue and smokers cough were surely to rise their ugly heads. She would have to finish him quickly before he got wise.

Wow, he'd actually hit her! Natron was grinning, until he saw how totally unfazed she looked and his face fell. Ate was built like a tank, and he was the idiot soldier with the pistol firing hopelessly.
There was a depressing thought.
When her fist contacted his kidney, he doubled over, choking. Ow, ow, s**t, ow. This was going to suck very badly. And he wasn't even aware that she was holding back!
"Yeah, they did, I'm just not very good," he admitted. It was a breathless sentence. When she went back, he took a few steps of his own and pegged his dodgeball at her. She was right, he was definitely going to disappoint both Generals if they found out about this. He had been stupid and gotten into a fight with someone he knew was stronger than him. But at least he would put up a fight.

This time Ate was ready for the ball hurtling towards her as she dodged out of his line of fire. She moved quickly behind some trees, ducking beneath branches until she felt safe enough to stop and look back at him though the leaves. To anyone else it may have looked like she was trying to hide but she was just biding her time, picking scraps of bark as she went past.
“Then why are you out here then?” She shouted as she threw pieces of wood in different directions to distract him from her current position. This trick she had learnt the hard way from another Negaverse agent. Her face still hurt when thinking of that encounter.
“Surely they should be taking better care of you? Assigning you a partner? Giving you desk duty? Why it almost sounds like they want you to get killed out here!” With another flurry of movement Ate dispatched the last of her tree bark around her before jumping into a tree branch. Hoping the noise would distract him long enough to look anywhere else but up Ate felt it was high time for an aerial attack. Launching herself she aimed for his form, both hands clasped together behind her head as she sought to bring them both down on his. She might break a finger or two completing this move but at least she looked cool flying though the air.

Natron's first reaction to his ball whizzing past her was a mental 'Ohhhh s**t s**t s**t.' That was one of the things he hated most about his weapon - he had to chuck it for it to really be effective, and so sometimes it went away or got thrown back at him. Curse you forever, dodgeball. And sometimes, like now, he didn't want to worry about using energy to call it back to him. He just didn't have the free energy to spend when he was worrying about not getting the s**t kicked out of him by someone far stronger.
So while she ran into the trees he went chasing his ball, and he finally caught up with his weapon just as she started shouting at him.
"I'm out here because I want to be!" Natron replied, standing totally still rather than chasing her down. He wasn't particularly trying to find her, thanks.
"Of course they don't want me to get killed, but how am I ever gonna get stronger if I hide behind someone else?" He asked, sounding a bit baffled.
And then, suddenly, FLYING SENSHI. His instant reaction was to cringe and shield his head with the ball as best he could, about all he really had time for, but she still sent him sprawling to the ground. And even with shielding, it was a dizzying hit. Natron was seeing far more of the birdies than of Ate right then.

The impact was a lot softer than Ate had expected and for a sickening second she feared she had smashed in his head (which although it sounded impressive was seriously not what she wanted to do! Eww. ) As soon as she felt her hand bounce back she realised his skull was not caving in on her but instead his quick reactions had brought his dodge ball up for protection. It was a good move and one that probably saved him from a smacking headache. Ate’s own fingers were relatively unharmed but the same couldn’t be said for her own face. For all it took to work out that he had shielded himself it had taken her longer to realise that her knotted hands were indeed coming back towards her. At least it was a perfect hit, she could be proud of herself for that.
“OWW! THOR THUCK SAKE! MY THOSE!
Stars mingled with birdies as Ate shook her head to gain composure. Oh god did he just see that? Did he? Did she seriously just punch herself in the nose? In front of the enemy?? WHO DOES THAT!
Swaying slightly she looked for him gingerly clearly expecting him to be pointing and laughing at her utter stupidity. So to find him sprawled on the floor was a welcomed surprise. Maybe she had just saved herself for complete embarrassment? Except it would have been if not for the familiar taste of iron creeping into her mouth and with a wipe she slid fresh blood from her face. Ahh a nosebleed, how perfect.
“Heh…Ok kid well at least learn this lesson, don’t ever punch yourself. It hurts.” She licked her top lip and grimaced. No matter how much training you had you could still do stupid mistakes like that. If anything this agent had a long way to go before he was going to a worthy match and suddenly the need to fight drained away.
“Hey kid….you alive? Com’on get up!” She went over to help but whether or not it was warmly received was another matter entirely.

Ate was definitely very lucky, because Natron totally missed her punching herself in the face. He was a little too busy trying to reorient himself on the planet Earth.
Ow, that hurt, and he really didn't want to risk any more hits like that in one day.
"I think I'm okay," he said, though his voice indicated a lot of dizziness. "That was...that was pretty good, dropping out of a tree like that..." He sat up, shaking his head slowly to clear it. Ohh wow.
"I'm alive, I'm alive, thanks for the concern," he said. Well, at least she didn't want him dead, that was nice. "I think you win."

Dropping her outstretched hand she saw the boy was more than capable of recovering on his own and watched as he shook his head to escape the fog that a head attack would cruelly leave behind. It was weird viewing him still conscious and relatively unscathed. Her fights were fought mainly to the ‘death’, by either the literal sense or the version in which the other ran off. And Ate had done plenty of that in her time. Seeing this side of the battle though was amusing. Neither had spent much energy or had any broken bones to mend. Other than a headache and a bruised nose this was a hardly a fight.
“Heh, I think you might be right about that …you know am not even sure how to let you go…I should just end you, make an example to the others, cease your energy gathering and all that…” she murmured slowly, pondering the answer. She viewed him through hooded eyes as if contemplating the ways she could get rid of his body before smiling briefly, her voice light despite the subject she was spoke off. She had killed before. Either by accident or on purpose but she had also been near to death herself having been beaten to a pulp and left bleeding out. It was not a sensation she wished to repeat. So to curse it on someone who was relatively weak in comparison, who hadn’t even honoured her with a decent fight, well, it just seemed monstrous and unnecessary. If it ever was to happen the deed wouldn’t be dealt with by her hands.
“…sadly though I have to go dye my hair. You understand if I don’t kill you tonight don’t you? I know you’re in need of a warrior’s death and all but a girl has to sort out her roots! Maybe we can meet again, maybe when you have a bit more bite to that attack of yours.” She lowered herself down so she was eye level with him, if he was only a bit older she would have made these parting words more fun but a view down her cleavage would just have to do.
“Promise me you’ll train hard kid, I like the idea of you kicking my a** one day…”
