Personalities: Gertrude Cadeaun.She's plucky. When she sets a goal for herself, she is determined to do her best to accomplish it, even if she has to muster the courage to go through terrifying ordeals to do so. She's also generally cheerful and spirited.
She's a polite, caring person. She rarely addresses people without using titles and she usually says please and thank you. She has a tenacious memory and she makes a point of remembering the names of everyone she associates with, their birthdays, and the like.
She feels the need to defend herself against everything, even things that aren't meant to be attacks. For example, if someone critiques her or disagrees with her, then she'll argue with him/her, because she feels like his/her statements are personal attacks against her. She also reacts violently to pranks for the same reason. Bucket to the head? How about a stick to the head? It's like that.
She suffers from a princess complex. She feels like a victim who needs to be rescued by a knight in shining armor. She's insecure and vain. She feels like she is surrounded by people who are better than her and who she'll never surpass. On the one hand, it drives her to want her to better herself and become even stronger. On the other, it makes her respond melodramatically to her mistakes and failures.
She has poor communication skills. She speaks cryptically and dislikes having to repeat herself or explain things, because she thinks just because she knows something inside and out that the person she tells should as well.
Myxy.He is curious. He tends to ask a lot of questions and he likes anyone who can answer them. He dislikes being ignored or being lied to. He'd rather have no answer or a wrong answer to a lie.
What he wants most is to become stronger. He's self-disciplined and a bit of a perfectionist. He constantly criticizes both himself and Gertrude.
He's laid back and patient. He believes haste makes waste and he wants to do things right the first time, not multiple times quickly.
When he's mad, he behaves in a passive-aggressive way.
Why did your human character choose to become a Hunter? In a nutshell, Gertrude loves the world and she sees the shadows as its enemies, so she wants to fight tooth and nail against them.
To elaborate, she was born into a well-to-do family. Her parents were both politicians and her older brother was a detective with the local police department. As a child, Gertrude would see shadows. When she told her parents about them, they didn't disbelieve her outright, because they thought she was talking about her imaginary friends. It was one of her many quirks, along with giving people nicknames longer than their real names, sticking bugs that bit her into cobwebs to feed the spiders that lived there, and watching CSPAN instead of whatever shows little girls are
supposed to like. Since they had always encouraged their children to march to the beats of their drums, they accepted these "shadows" with the expectation that she'd eventually grow out of it.
When she got older, she still saw shadows. She just didn't talk about them as much, because after she was enrolled in school, they were no longer in the forefront of her mind. There were far more interesting things talk about then, like her classmates, teachers, the classes themselves, and her new found love of extracurricular activities, like canne de combat.
Unfortunately, after she went away to college, the shadows became much worse. She would see them constantly and when she warned people about them, no one would believe her. She felt like they were a taint on this world. She had a genuine love of all living things, so if things had happened differently, she could've easily become a veterinarian, like she wanted, or even something less esteemed, like a pet sitter. Instead, she was so tormented by the shadows, that she dropped out.
