The meeting among the trees Rough: -with a grunt, the Tauros made his way about the tree line not far from the shop. he never spent much time about the area, but he got himself lost in thought and found himself here. his triple tails swayed behind him with each step before he paused, looking into the trees. was today going to get any more interesting than aimless wandering?-Meloetta Aria: -She wandered around aimlessly in the forest. This was her favorite place to be, it was so peaceful. Whenever she found herself getting close to the edge of the forest she would turn, to delve deeper into its mysterious depths. One day she would know this forest inside and out. Humming quietly to herself, she wound through the trees. The other day she found a small pond, she wished she would have marked it on her map so it would be easier to find. Luckily, after about 15 minutes, she found it. The top of it was perfectly still, like a sheet of glass. Looking carefully she saw some flat rocks just below the surface leading to the exact middle of the pond. There a large rock sat like a little island. I wonder if someone put these here… she thought to herself. Delicately, she walked from one to another until she made it to the center. Birds whistled a joyous tune while chasing each other around. She laughed as one of the feathered creatures almost ran into a tree. It turned around and landed on her hair piece. She smiled and sang a little four note tune that the bird mimicked. When it flew off she closed her eyes and started singing a song she had been working on for a while…it was almost done, but there was something important missing. The only problem was she couldn't figure out what…-Rough: -as the bull stood there, looking into the forest, there was a strange want to go. the expression on his face changed, morphed into a bit of a scowl, grunting once more and stomping his hoof on the ground. surely that was the silliest thing... feeling called to the the forest... and yet, after those thoughts finished passing through his mind, he could resist no longer and gave into the want to see if he could find what was calling to him... ermm... shaking his head, he began to trod forward. as the bull made his way through the trees, weaving and dodging, he nearly found himself enjoying the obstacles the woods had to offer, his pace quickening with each jump, swerve, and the likes. before he knew it, he had found himself skidding to a halt, ears perking forward then back against his head as soft, melodic sounds reached him from somewhere close. snorting through his nose, he slowly plodded onward until the reflection of light bouncing off the water caught his attention. his eyes looked on, gazing over the scene until they rested on a dainty form. he made no move forward from there, but her song was but beautiful and nearly hypnotizing, and he stood there, just watching and listening-Meloetta Aria: –She sang different versions of the song. The fast version was too fast, and the slow version sounded to melodramatic. Finally, she just settled for a medium speed, but it still did not sound right to her.- Oh well that’s enough for one day, she thought to herself. She got up carefully and stretched out her stiff legs. Then she hopped back along the rocks. Since the rocks were just below the surface, to anyone who saw her, it appeared as though she was walking on water. Perfectly round circles of water rippled around her after every step. She soon made it to shore. Squirrels were chasing one another around the pond and she soon found herself joining them. Their little tails got even more puffed up as they raced around. Her laughter filled the trees when she finally stopped. "Well, I should be heading home," she told the little animals sweetly. "I’ll be back tomorrow!" She turned and started walking back in the direction of town. She turned once more to wave good-bye. Unfortunately, when she did so she didn't see that there was someone standing in front of her and ran right into him. "Oh, I’m so sorry!" She blurted out quickly.Rough: -he stood there, not really hiding, but just there, watching the small creature as she sang. with each tempo change, his face changed, expressions varying. something in her voice radiated through him, and there was just something about it that he couldn't quite place, but he found himself unable to break away as her serenading to the forest continued. as her song stopped, he blinked, shaking his head and wondering what got into him. it was just singing, just music. an indignant snort pushed through his nose at the thought of how silly he must have looked, standing there as if spellbound. and yet, as the little creature moved once again across the water, he was filled with awe-struck wonder as she glided over the water's surface -- unknowing of the rocks beneath her feet. her playfulness with the forest critters has him spellbound once again up to the moment where she walked right into him, snapping him from his gaze. red hot eyes shot down to her, warning and yet... her uttered apologize melted them in an instant. snorting, keeping some sense of gruffness about him, he averted his eyes and gazed away- S'fine -he managed to mutter. something about her unarmed his ability to be aloof and uncaring, and it disturbed him. his whip-like tails flicked behind himself- You should... watch where you're going... Meloetta Aria: -She was startled when she looked up at who she had run into. It was such a large creature with horns and red glowing eyes. She cowered a bit as he seemed to loom over her. At first he seemed angry and she thought he might yell at her for being so careless. But then he just stopped and snorted through his nose. She looked down at her feet, embarrassed. Looking back up he spoke, his multiple tails flicked around in an agitated manner.- I hope he isn't too mad, she thought. -When he spoke again she took a step back, realizing that she was probably invading his personal space. Plus the space between them allowed her to look up at him without having to crane her neck quite so much.- "I’m sorry," she said again, "Yes, I should be more careful. It’s just that the forest is usually pretty empty this time of day. I wasn't expecting to see anyone…" -she looked off into the distance, not quite sure what to do. His red eyes looked so angry…and yet there was a softer side as well. She could tell just by looking at him. Why else would someone like him be in such a beautiful forest? She could imagine him better on some downtown street. Her checks reddened and she looked away.- "Sorry." she whispered yet again, feeling like she should apologize for her thoughts. But that’s crazy, she told herself, He can’t even read my thoughts. Remember never judge a book by its cover! And now here I am making a fool of myself – running into people and apologizing over and over. He’s going to think I’m dim witted or something. -She gave a nervous laugh, which didn't help the situation she was currently putting herself into.- Rough: The way the little creature seemed to cower before him, nearly made him feel bad. He could be quite rough around the edges, but he didn't mean to come off so gruff... well at least to her. He shook his head as she offered another apology, the softness of it enough to melt any heart. Her words pulled another scoff from him, this one softer than before as he peered off to the side, avoiding looking her in the eyes. “Don’t sound so scared of me... I don’t bite.” There was a tone of irritation in his voice. It was unintentional, but there. Those whip-like tails flicked back and forth once more. By the time she apologized once again, he rolled his eyes, peering back down to her, his face softening. “You apologize for too much, little thing. It’s a bad habit.” His back legs slid out from behind him, his behind plunking on the cooled forest grass. From his new seat, he proceeded to look her over once again, taking in little details about her and such. In an attempt to make her feel better, he offered up a grumbled compliment. “Your voice is quite lovely... enchanting. Perfect for someone who seems the part of a forest sprite.” A hint of a smile graced his features as he gave a small nod to her.Meloetta Aria: She stood awkwardly for a second before backing up another step and sitting down as well. When he spoke he sounded a little annoyed at her. She almost opened her mouth to apologize once again but stopped herself as he made his next comment. "Ah, yes I have had people tell me that. Guess it’s just out of habit now." She shrugged then quickly added, "But I do mean it when I say it…I meant I just…" she stopped talking, no longer remembering where she was going to go with that sentence. I’m just making a fool of myself is what I’m doing… Meloetta told herself yet again. She blushed furiously when he complimented her. "Oh my goodness, you heard that? I’m afraid it’s not quite done…there’s this one part of the song that just doesn't sound right to me…hm…" She furrowed her brow in concentration as she went over the song in her head again. Whenever she started thinking about her music the outside world seemed to disappear and become unimportant. Her eyes wondered around the forest, as they often did when looking for inspiration. The settled on the Noodle in front of her and she blinked and came out of her daze. "Oh…" she said, stopping herself from apologizing once again. She smiled. "Um…how rude of me!" She offered him her paw. "My name is Meloetta Aria, nice to meet youRough: He couldn't help a slight chuckle as she confessed the fact that she's been told that a good bit. Needless to say, he wasn't really surprised to hear it since she had apologized three times already. There was a slight hint of a smile on his face, but only slight, as he nodded. "I did. It was the whole reason I made my way to this area. Suppose my ears decided for the rest of me to find where the sound was coming from." His ears flicked as she spoke about her unfinished song, almost surprised by the fact that she seemed to be having troubles with it. His eyes watched her as she seemed to space off some while looking about, not that he could blame her... something about the forest was very distracting. The moment she went to speak once more, he cocked a brow at her, then even chuckled lightly as she managed to stop the would-be fourth apology. With eyes widening some at her offered paw, he twitched his nose for a moment as he pondered if he should offer his as well, then placed his hoof to it. "Name's Rough."
