(How this goes is very simple. Mostly, mothers (or fathers) can announce the birth of their children. Cubs can announce themselves if you want. That is up to you. This whole Ceremony is optional, but might be kind of fun!

Post as much as you'd like; it's a very open ended rp that is geared more towards the children introducing themselves to the adults, and making friends in other clans that they won't see as often in their own clan.

Don't forget that the clans migrate often, so this is seen as a good chance to know those outside of their clan.)

At the encouragement from her parents, Yinehi Kanati was determined to take part in the cloud ceremony and make lots of friends. She'd already practiced introducing herself to her mother at least a dozen times, so when the cloud ceremony began- even though there was no one in particular for her to talk to quite yet- she bounded into the middle of the group and shouted.

"My name is Yinehi Kanati, my dad is Skan and my mom is Muujiza and I live in the bird clan!"

With a satisfied grin, she stayed right where she was and waited for her new friends (i.e. everybody) to come say hi.

Ukahada Waya was far less enthusiastic about this ceremony than the yellow cub from the bird clan was, though he wasn't very far away when she skipped up to the middle and (loudly) introduced herself. He stared at her silently for a moment before glancing around, wondering if that was really how this was supposed to go or if he ought to go talk to her.

Ultimately he decided that no, he was quite comfortable right where he was, waiting to see what everybody else did first.

Unlike his sibling, Heskovizenako Waya was far from reserved. When Yinehi introduced herself to everyone, the youngster was a little distracted chasing down some unidentified bug, as something interesting had yet to happen here. But the yellow Bird Clan cub's introduction distracted him long enough for it to escape!

Oh well, he wasn't going to get too upset about it. Deciding it was time to find a new distraction, he trotted towards where Yinehi was, thumping his tail against his brother's side when he passed by. "I'm Heskovizenako Waya!" He grinned. "You can just call me Heskovizenako, though." He disliked when his name was shortened, for no particular reason. "Or Waya, I guess." He preferred being called by his surname than given a nickname!

"My dad is Kaleth'matar and my mom is Tsilihu Waya. Muuuuujiza is a funny name." He tilted his head. He didn't say it to be mean, though it might come off as a taunt. But it had just occurred to him! It could go on forever. Muuuuuuuuuuujiza.

Yinehi beamed when the little wolf clan boy came up to introduce himself, scrunching up her nose at his name and trying to repeat it back to herself in her head because it was easy to tell she was going to need extra help remembering that. He said it again, though, like he was offering a nickname but he .. wasn't. And why would you use your surname as a nickname?

"Heskavoi- Heska- Hes--"

Nope, she wasn't going to get it.

"Your name is funny," she said, almost defensively but part matter-of-factly. It was hard to argue when she couldn't even say it after he said it twice.

Ukahada watched as his brother suddenly appeared from chasing after a bug and introduced himself. His immediate thought was to get up and join his brother, use his introduction to lead into his own! He even got up to his feet and started towards them- but Yinehi's stumbling over Heskovizenako's name made him hesitate. But not for long.

"Heskovizenako," he repeated, cutting into the midst of the conversation, "Heskovizenako doesn't like nicknames."

It wasn't his own introduction but he was socializing!

Once, his mother had teased him, saying he disliked nicknames just because he liked to see people stumble over his name. Of course he had denied it at the time, but there might be a least a little truth to that, because her attempts were a little amusing. Heskovizenako shrugged when she called his name funny; he'd let that go. This time! And he did still think Muuujiza was funny. "My name is cool." he said nonchalantly, not likely to pursue any arguments here. He didn't have to defend his name, he thought it was cool, his mom liked it, so did his dad, and that meant everyone that mattered!

He grinned widely when his brother popped up to join them, and did the explaining for him. "Yup! What he said." He was glad Ukahada decided to pop up, he'd feel bad if his brother stayed too long sitting by himself. "This is my brother!" He paused briefly, wondering if his sibling would supply his own name. Heskovizenako didn't wait too long, though. "Ukahada." He nodded happily. "Anyways, d'you guys wanna play a game?"

"Heskavinizenako," Yinehi repeated with more confidence and finality- she wasn't going to try it again, even though she knew was getting it wrong, she had a few too many syllables in there. Part of her was trying to judge if it'd be worth annoying the clan stranger with a nickname that wasn't his surname or not. But she had to put it out of her mind, quickly settling on 'you' and 'him' for any future reference to the long-named cub.

She looked at Ukahada when 'he' introduced him, smiling but not getting another word in before the idea of a game was brought up. She grinned and jumped backwards a step.

"OK!" she said, "What do you want to play?"

Ukahada nodded in response to the introduction his brother offered on his behalf, smiling at them both- especially when he saw the look Yinehi gave his brother over his name. She clearly wasn't a fan of the 'learn to pronounce Heskovizenako's name' game.

"We could play tag," he suggested, looking around, "Then anybody could join in, if they want."

After getting thoroughly turned around and confused, the cub managed to find his way from the patch of plants he (and everyone else) wasn't supposed to eat to the Cloud Ceremony.

And one of his sisters was already there! There were also two more cubs, boys, that he didn't know. One of them was suggesting that the group play tag just as he was coming up.

"Oh, I love tag!" he exclaimed, coming closer. Then he remembered the manners his mother was working so hard to get into his thick skull. "And my name's Tsi-Tsi Kanati and Yinehi is my sister!"

He made a face, briefly, at the lack of perfection in her pronunciation of his name. But with a shrug, Heskovizenako decided to just focus on the positives, one of which was that this girl had agreed to play!

His brother helpfully supplied a game, and he was not about to disagree. "Yeah! Tag sound fun– hi!" He didn't seem about to bother re-introducing himself to this new cub who just came up. Yinehi's brother Tsi-tsi, ok. "Great! I'm not it." Heskovizenako thought getting that out of the way was more important than... uh, anything else right now. So there.

Yinehi was relieved when her brother appeared. He wasn't as excited as she was about this- at least, she hadn't run into him while she was practicing her own introductions before the festival really started- but it was nice to have someone safe and familiar there.

"This is Ukahada and him," she said, introducing the brothers to Tsi-tsi and purposefully not saying Heskovizenako's name. She gave him a pointed look but then bounced back a couple steps to put some space between her and them.

"I'll be it!" she volunteered enthusiastically, "Everybody run away!"

Ukahada looked to Tsi-tsi when he appeared, immediately recognizing the similarity between him and the pale girl already chatting with them. He almost thought he'd finally get to give his own introduction but Yinehi got to it first.. and skipped over his brother's name.

He smiled, deciding not to correct her or fill in the blank for Tsi-tsi. Instead, he looked at Yinehi when she declared herself it- and then around to the other two to see if they were really going for it.

( Sorry for the delay, guys! ;; )

"Wait, no fair!" the newcomer complained as his sister rushed through the introductions and arbitrarily declared herself it. He liked being it! This was so unfair. And he hadn't even caught one of the other boys' names.

Then he had to dodge his sister and Tsi-Tsi was off running, circling around the area that had been set aside from the Cloud Ceremony, but staying out of Yinehi's reach.

"You're not gonna catch me this time!" he taunted.

"Too slow!" she squeaked at Tsi-Tsi when he objected, snickering as she watched him run off- and looking to see if the other boys would run off, too.

Once Tsi-Tsi was off, Ukahada jumped to run off, too. Rather than go completely opposite of the yellow boy, he cut between him and Yinehi before running off that way. He turned back when he was sure he had put some space between them to see where she would go next. Tag could be a tricky game, at least they were supposed to stay within a certain area or it could get out of paw.

Satisfied that was enough of a head-start for the game to be considered fair, she made an extremely biased move.. and immediately chased after her brother. She was far more comfortable with him and she knew more about how he played games than the strangers, she had a better chance of catching him.

Not much more thought went into it, though, as she scrambled to catch up and tag Tsi-Tsi.

Tsi-Tsi blinked in surprise when Ukahada cut in front of him and pulled away. But this was tag! You were supposed to run in all sorts of directions, not just one! He'd already picked this way!

"Hey, what're you doing?" he called out after the other boy in annoyance. Then something warned the cub that he should look behind him. Craning his neck, the yellow boy saw Yinehi coming up behind him!

"Ack!" he cried out, deciding to take a chance and suddenly change directions, circling around to go the opposite way. He didn't want to get tagged!

Ukahada was warming up to the group and the game they were playing, he only grinned back to Tsi-Tsi when he called out an objection for the distracting method he had chosen to employ as the game began. He watched from his safe spot a short distance away as the siblings chased.

Yinehi wasn't ready for her brother's evasive measure and, leaping forward hoping to catch him, she hit the ground and stumbled a few steps before she realized which way he had gone-- but looking for Tsi-Tsi, she spotted Ukahada just standing nearby. So she changed course.

Nearly distracted by watching Tsi-Tsi successfully get away, he nearly missed when Yinehi charged for him instead. With a yelp, he leaped forward and chased after Tsi-Tsi himself. If he was going to get caught, he wanted to be near someone else, too. And now, they were all headed in the same direction.

The yellow cub turned to laugh at his playmates but he choked on the expression as he saw Ukahada coming towards him yet again, and with Yinehi hot on his tail! What was it with everyone?

"Hey, it's tag, not 'Everyone Chase Tsi-Tsi'!" the boy cried out in exasperation as he desperately tried to zigzag out of the mess of cubs, one chasing the other following the third. Even so, this was a lot more fun than just playing with the same siblings every single day!

"How else am I going to catch you, Tsi-Tsi!" Yinehi called despite taking a leap at Ukahada. It only really served to slow her down, though, and in the end more distance was put between her and the boys watching Tsi-Tsi zigzag out of the way.

"Hey!" she cried, jumping back into a run after Tsi-Tsi.

Ukahada could hear Yinehi behind him trying to get him- and then there was a thump and she was falling behind. So he took his chance and made a sharp turn away from both of them, scrambling off to find a hiding place behind some of the rocks around the Stargrove. He was panting when he finally ducked down to take a break. He wasn't really well hidden but he couldn't see them so he was satisfied.
