((Please only post when the title says open. It will not be one at a time, so hopefully it doesn't take too long to finish everything. It'll be closed when I'm at school, busy, there's a huge pileup, or asleep.

You will post your lion approaching Skan Kanati. (include their full name!) He or she will need to offer something small, like a bit of hair. Skan will toss it into a pile of smoldering herbs and plants, and from the way the smoke swirls, he will determine what clan they will be. I will roll in the same post as he does this (probably a cookie-cutter post, but I will do my best to make each post unique for you), and so you will see what clan your lion goes into. If you want to rp a response to this, feel free to do so!

The dice:
1. Bird
2. Earth
3. Mantis
4. Shadow
5. Sky
6. Wolf

If you have any questions, please post them in the sign up thread! Not here!))

Skan approached the small but growing crowd of lions. There were some familiar faces, but many of them were strangers. Those that wanted to pledge themselves to the ideals and culture of the Ela'wadiyi. The wanidatsi couldn't help but swallow against his unease. For the years he had been the leader of the Ela'wadiyi pride, he had always had a sense of unease, but it was from the stories he had been raised on as a cub. Tawa'di kanati had warned his son of their past history, of the Eusi'uzulu. Their forced migration away from their true homelands, their status as forever refugees. Many of the current Ela'wadiyi did not know of the dirty details of their past, and Skan was believing that this was the wise thing to do. There was no hint of trouble on the wind, and none of his siblings ever Saw anything that might warn them. So. Here he was, slowly getting used to the idea of these strangers entering and being honest in their convictions.

Ready as he was, he nodded towards the crowd, letting them know that they could approach when they were ready. Some of them may be more shy than others, and linger towards the back of the line, but that was quite alright. Everyone would get their turn, and he would in turn guide them towards their future.

Inhaling the smoldering herbs, he set his might inward towards his seer abilities, putting his faith in the fact that it had always guided him well.

Ina'Ori padded forward with mild uncertainty, though one unfamiliar with her may not be able to spot it. The dark lioness was quite composed most of the time, and this was no exception. She had a calm smile on her maw as she approached Skan Kanati. She had been quite fortunate to happen by the pride when she had... She had long searched for a home as rich as this one, and at long last had found it. She had strong faith that this was where she belonged, and that Skan would be able to guide her to her proper place in the pride.

She gave a respectful nod as she got to her turn, her smile growing just a little. She told Skan her name before she sat on her haunches and curled her tail around to her front paws. The lioness grabbed a small section of brown fur from her tail, then sprinkled a little bit of dirt into it. She handed it to Skan and waited with a certain eagerness, excited to see the leader guide her to her new home.

Skan was ready once the first inductee approached. It was reassuring for him to see her calm and confident in her choice to become part of the Ela'wadiyi. A fine example for everyone else who may be a little nervous about this ceremony.

He watched as she gathered up her offering, nodded when it was pushed over towards him. He scooped up all that he could in a fairly fresh leaf, using it to help him pour it into the smoldering pile. The fur hissed and curled as it burned, as the bits of dirty mingled it broke down as the heat touched it. Swirls of the smoke started to speak to Skan, and he studied them carefully. It was important, and he was certain that Ina'Ori put all of her faith into this.

"Ina'Ori, your future lies within the Shadow Clan, which I know you will serve faithfully. Go to your new family, and welcome to the Ela'wadiyi," he said slowly and clearly, doing his best to not lose his light trance from the herbs.

The lioness's eyes followed Skan's moves, curiosity overtaking her manners. She knew it was rude to stare in most circumstances, but she could not help it. Her future was being decided here- she had to watch it!

"Thank you very much," Ina responded with an open smile. She nodded fluidly before she moved aside for the next lion, this memory being written into her mind for the rest of her life. The Shadow Clan was where her fate lay, then. She was glad to go to it, excited for this next stage in her life.

Yamini was not much of a follower, it was how she ended up so separated from her family, but she was certainly a bit uneasy in a crowd like this, dealing with the first ceremony of what was about to become her home. She stayed near the middle of the group where she felt she might blend in best and get a feel for what was going on but it turned out she only needed to see one other go before she was confident enough to put herself out there. Taking a deep breath, she stepped forward to stand opposite Skan. She nodded and offered an almost shy smile before kneeling down and removing a bracelet tied around her paw. Though she wasn't sure the lioness that had gone before her spoke, she introduced herself as she pushed it towards the wanidatsi.

"My name is Yamini," she said, "It has been a long time since I've had a home and I offer a piece of that past, I am ready to move on."

Witu Majani awaited his turn patiently among the many others who were joining the pride with him. He had never seen so many lions in one place before in his whole life. He wondered if the pride would always feel this cramped. He didn't think a pride would have this many members to it and it was blowing his mind.

Soon it was his turn and he stepped forward to the fire and the lion sitting next to it. He greeted Skan with a nod and then he carefully pulled some of the hair from his mane lose and gave it to Skan. The closer he got to learning where his future would be the more nervous Witu got but on the outside he kept his cool and simply watched and waited.

Nervous paws moved forward, one shaky step at a time. In her maw she clutched the dew, and now saliva, soaked fur of her pelt, ready to offer it to her new home. All she had to do was stand tall, proud and in front of the group while Skan Kanati performed the ceremony.

Stand tall, be proud. You found your home, you found your home!

Grinding her molars together as she neared the front, gem colored eyes searched the different faces of the crowd. They were all like her, awaiting introduction into their new family. No one would judge her, or, at the very least, not cruelly. She would be able to become part of a large family and maybe one day... add to that family.

Dizzy now with anticipation, the small white lioness stood now in front of many. She felt like she would faint, but she pressed forward, resting her offering at the feet of Skan. "M-My offering..."

Her face was all but paniced as she waited, her weight switching between feet making her look like she was teetering back and forth from side to side. She felt she was forgetting something... but she couldn't exactly remember and so she stood staring at the ground for a couple moments.

Ears perking suddenly as it hit her, Tafuki squeaked, "My name! I am Tafuki..." Suddenly becoming bashful she added, "Sorry."

User Image Myrina looked at the gathering crowd of felines, and it sure was becoming packed fairly quickly. She had been traveling through the rogue lands for days when luckily she had found the place. All thanks to said crowd. She turned to someone near her about to open her mouth when a lion stepped out to speak greetings. She watched as he gave a regal nod and that cued some of the lions to move forward? Huh? Oh, this was nice. The male lion wanted to know their names, it said a lot about a leader that wanted to get to know the members of his pride individually. After some time, she was lucky and had arrived early, she stepped towards the pride leader.

“Hello,” She smiled shyly and basically did what the other lions before her had done. “I am Myrina and it is a pleasure to meet you! What I have to offer is this--” She gathered the things she wanted to gift to the fire. “—a feather that I had found on the journey here, and a tuff of fur from one of my baby’s head. They have grown and moved away to start a life of their own.” It was a symbol of her past and she had hoped she had done this correctly. That’s all she needed was to insult the leader and be cast out to wander in the rogue lands. She stepped back and waited for which clan she would attend.

User ImageXanaris ambled onward until he reached the pride he had been looking for. Ela. Finally he was here after so much wandering. He took a deep breath—only to wish he hadn’t. Phew, someone needed a wash! Brown eyes took everything in with wonder. “Wow,” the word slipped out before he could stop it. “Guess I came here later than others.” He eyed the lineup warily before shrugging. Something worth getting always took time and patience, so he had learned earlier on in his youth.

When it was his turned he stumbled slightly before catching himself quick. “I’m Xanaris." He spoke to the leader, "Hey! You sure have a nice pride! It forever to get here-” He knew he was exaggerating but he blabbed when nervous. “Um, so I guess I give you this?” He offered a piece of tree bark to the leader but then realizing it was supposed to go in the fire he moved towards the flame. “I saw the others do that so.. yeah! This is so neat, the ceremony I mean! Never seen anything like it!” He stepped back and waited for the name of the clan in which he would be placed.

Kibwe stood and watched calmly as the first few inductees stepped forward with various levels of confidence. He was nervous and excited to be placed in his clan, but he wasn't nervous about the ceremony itself. He felt a kinship with his fellow inductees, lions who had also walked their own paths before finding their place here, with the Ela. And he hoped to find the same comfort from his future clanmates.

He wondered what they would be like. What stories would they have to tell? He wasn't sure that he wanted to share his own stories... Stories of infidelity, theft, and other such sins. But perhaps he would, eventually. They were a part of who he was, no matter how much he tried to deny the past.

When it was his turn, he walked forward to meet Skan Kanati, and lowered his head to drop a small piece of his mane as an offering. "My name is Kibwe," he said in a warm tone, "and I hope to serve the Ela'wadiyi well."

Well. It looked like this was it. Azria stood and surveyed the other lions with a silent stare, watching as each one approached the leader and offered something small to the fire. A myriad thoughts and doubts and concerns ran through his mind, wild as the wind, and with each one, he wondered a little more whether he was making the right choice.

There were so many reasons this might be wrong, so many ways in which he didn't quite fit here. He liked to move, sometimes he got bored easily with the same few creatures, or angry, he chafed under authority. And he didn't play well with others. The more he thought about it, the more daunting living in a pride seemed - especially one that seemed so... so peaceful and good. Azria did not consider himself to be either of those things, and sometimes in his mind, he cursed the little lioness that had somehow managed to worm her way inside his head and convince him to give all this a shot.

But then again, wasn't that the point? A change, a complete change from the life he had been living? It was time for something new, he told himself. Time to leave that old him behind - or at least try. Success was hardly a guarantee. It had been too long, after all, too many years of that nomadic life.

Maybe this was all for the better.

So for a little while, he would swallow his pride. The dark lion made his way to Skan Kanati, as humbly as he could manage, and offered some fur. His mane, he supposed, would have to do.

Channah stood nervously next to the male that she had met upon arriving. She and Lancelot were both newcomers, both a bit on edge about what was going to happen next.

She felt comfortable around him, happy that he was joining with his intended, and she as well. She looked at him, and he looked at her.

"Well, I can go first, I guess." She said, taking a deep breath and walking towards the fire and Skan Kanati. She took a deep breath, and clutched the flower she had been carrying in her mane. She placed it in her maw, carrying it to the fire. She dropped it, and looked at Skan Kanati.
"My name is Channah, and it's a pleasure to meet you." She said.

Next Lancelot walked closer. His eyes looked at Channah, who smiled in support. If everyone was as friendly here as she was, he was going to fit in well he imagined! He grasped at the bead he had carried from home. It had marked him as a Dawnwalker once. Or, a piece of it had. The small bead was no where near all of his jewelry. He dropped the bead in the fire, following Channah's lead, and smiled to Skan Kanati.
"I am Lancelot." He wasn't sure what to do, and so he stood nervuosly, watching the bead burn slowly.

Skan was prepared for the second lion to approach him, and so once she gave her name and her offering, he nodded politely at her. A bracelet would take longer to burn, but it wouldn't be as strange as some of the offerings in the past. Sometimes he had been given something that just wouldn't burn, but he still had to let the smoke swirl around the object to better understand the soul that was attached to it. He rested it on the top of the pile, watching as the edges of the bracelet curled within the heat. It would burn, but it would take a while. The scent of burning bits of hair and leather filled the air, but his nose didn't twitch. After being under the pile for a while, his nose would get more and more desensitized.

"Yamini," he echoed, his voice feeling a bit distant as his eyes followed the smoke swirls. They teased him for a moment, and he had to will himself to concentrate and read them. "Your past is finished, and you will begin anew within the Mantis Clan. Welcome."

The next one to approach was a lion, and though Skan was used to seeing the different colours of coats that were common on rogue lions, it was still a touch startling to see such a rich, deep tree green with markings that vaguely reminded him of their own tattoo designs. He did not let himself be too distracted for long, as there was a lot of work to do any many lions to process through.

He nodded towards the green lion, brushing the mane hair into the pile. There was nearly nothing left from the bracelet before, and the green hair curled and burned quickly.

"Witu Majani, your home is within the Wolf Clan. Welcome to the pride of the Ela'wadiyi."
