I guess most people would want to avoid it at first. It currently may be designed for nothing but tablets due to the menu placements and functionality.
If the system is operated to have an even more limited overview/control of the file system (other than their Microsoft shop software list), I'd personally feel really annoyed.

On the other hand: I probably need to try it out myself before making a determined judgement. User Image

Majority of the Industry thinks of it as a joke or a failure, since 7 was finally decent.

I have previewed it and it seemed like a joke.

When I skimmed this page, I were given an expression of Paul Allen (a co-founder of Microsoft) liked this for use on a tablet. For use on PCs, it may feel far more hindering.

Perhaps there may be some better workaround(s) for PCs to use the desktop view available (either now or in a close future).

I think they ought to just leave it for exclusive tablet use and then design a real windows 8 for use on PC. I've had a look at it and it seems very...uh...uninspiring to say the least.

Ehh, even on my Win7 computer I'm using the classic windows layout. So if it's mainly the layout that is new in Win8, then I'm not interested.

It looks like they just adapted the format of the Microsoft Phone to tablets and PCs. Anyone smell yet another MS failure?

I was fiddling with windows 8 for a while.
Aye its good, the foundation of it is good but where it stands now and it being released the way it is, is just...not really productive considering it has alot of competition which is providing more or has the ability to provide than it is currently providing.
