To say that Anella had been wary when it came to after-dark traveling would have been an understatement. Where as once she traversed the world fearlessly, now she seemed to be taking great lengths to avoid being out late.
…Which was putting a severe damper on her social life. She had thought she'd be content to just spent the night at home, eating ice cream, until she realized that, psych—she had had no ice cream.
She'd helped herself to some alcohol, instead.
Not much—just enough that, an hour later, she was reconsidering helping herself to some ice cream. Except, that meant braving the big, scary world to run down to the nearest convenience store.
Anella had really mulled it over—and then, with one last, decisive swig, she stood, puffed out her chest, grabbed her jacket, and set off. Her liquid courage and insatiable craving for sweets gave her motivation to get to the store, but by the time she got out, she wasn't so strong-willed. Loud, raucous clanging from around the corner made her reconsider the route she wanted to take. On one hand, it could be a cat in a trashcan. On the other hand, it could be another one of those youma things.
….On the other hand, she had melting ice cream.
Oh, but she was an adult. Who needed spoons? She could take the long way home to avoid that ruckus as long as she could help herself to some of that delicious, sugary goodness.
She took one look towards the park and then drew in a strengthening breath before pulling the pint out of the grocery bag, peeling off the lid, and licking the top of the frozen ice cream as she started her trek.

Lenka had snuck out this night, and she wasn’t upset by it. With all of the times that the girl snuck out…she was always so surprised that her mom hadn’t caught her or something yet. In all honestly, she was starting to wonder if her mom noticed anything anymore…she seemed to always be in her own little world now too. Well. That wasn’t anything she could really fix, sadly.
The chibi senshi sighed, walking towards the park and pausing when she saw someone walking the same way. It didn’t have any sort of powered aura, so it had to be a civilian…but why would anyone be stupid enough to walk outside alone, at night…in the park of all places? Jeeze.
She made her way over and blinked when she saw who it was. The lady from the store the other day…eating ice cream right out of the container.
Man it must be nice to be that old. Lenka walked over. “Anella, what are you doing out here all alone? It’s not really safe, you know.”

Anella froze, worrying it was some old friend who had caught her; slowly, she turned, lid still held up to her mouth and a deer-in-headlights expression. Her eyes met empty air for a split second and she had to look down.
"…How do you know my name?" she blurted, staring at the girl. She did not recognize her in the slightest, but damn that was a cute outfit.
…Cute enough to eat.
Anella forced herself to swallow and lowered the ice cream, tilting her head. "Do I know you?"
What was she? She didn’t look quite like a knight or anything (not that Anella really had anything to go by other than herself and Caelian, and the girl certainly did have enough pink…).
…At least she seemed friendly. Plus, her legs were smaller than Anella's, so even if she wasn't, she could definitely outrun her.

Lenka blinked, seeming confused for a moment, then nodded slowly. “Right…you don’t know me like this…oh that’s funny! I totally forgot I was powered up! Ahah!”
She cleared her throat, then held out a hand. “My name is Sailor Chibi Lenka, I’m the senshi of watermelons, it’s lovely to uh…meet you. Really lovely to meet you, but you shouldn’t be out all by yourself at night! I’ll come with you to protect you, okay? I don’t want any monsters or bad guys hurting you.”
Because she had to come over and make cupcakes. And she had the sprinkles, that was the big part of it, most likely.
“But…yeah! I’ll come with you on your journey home, okay?” Why was she suddenly in such a better mood? Maybe because running into people she knew while powered was a rare thing…besides…Anella was a nice lady. Or she had seemed nice before.

"…What?" she asked after a few seconds. "I know you? Who are you!" she demanded, suddenly seeming quite scrutinizing. "You look young. So like, less than fifteen. Who do I know that's less than fifteen."
She paused for a minute, stepped back, and tapped her finger on her chin thoughtfully before she was struck with an idea. "…Cupcakes?"
Which was enough that if she was the girl she was thinking of, they'd both know it…without revealing any compromising information while out in public. "—What are you doing out so late? Talking about danger! What does your mother have to say about all of this! Does she know you're out so late?"
…If she did, wouldn't she be out here with her, making sure she was safe?
