This is the thread for all RPCs that are travelling in between cities or just in the swamp itself. It's a swamp, so plenty of soggy places, marshes, and a few enemies might await you (if you talked to me about it first, as this is a safe travel thread).

The shadow of a bird, passed flickered through the gnarled black arms of shadow trees, and glided over the stagnant green waters of the marshes. As it progressed it grew, like it was maturing, growing in mere seconds, its shape changed. The winged blot of its body grew arms, and legs, a head sprouted from the top, taking on a human shape that grew in height, then suddenly flipped an extended. The sunlight gleamed off the white brilliance of Krona’s fully extended wings as she landed, surrounding her in golden light. With her pale white skin, she resembled a marble state of a beautiful angel, bathed in a pool of light, the cascading crimson curls of her hair like a bold stain of blood against the pale white marble of her face. The illusion was broken as she unfurled her wings, and their sparkle was dimed as they folded neatly against her back. From her pack, she pulled a cloack, pitch black, except for a spot on the inside of the hood. There, a red symbol blazed. It was visible now, but once she donned the cloak, it would be hidden by the darkness within the cowl. She slipped the cloak on; it swallowed the wings at her back, blackened the red of her hair, and shadowed the white of her skin. Why are we stopping here? The haven of the light is very close…A voice – melodious with feminity smooth with wisdom - that only her she could hear echoed within the hood. The swamp seemed peaceful, but she could sense the turmoil in the silent brooding of the trees. Even so, the silence and darkness was a balm to her aching conscious. Places like this, silent, dark, eerily beautiful were like sleep to her; immersing herself in their serenity refueled her. Dear, did you hear me? I know mother. But from what read and heard, we are safe so long as we do not pass the town. The capital doesn’t concern itself with it.Her mother’s doubt, pressed against her mind, but the woman said nothing, so Krona made her way toward the town. Fallen

The shadow streamed around them, like waves in the wake of a ship. To the girl, it would be like floating through the blackest and most silent of nights, but to Krona it was walking through the warm of a home. The shadows greated her, touched her kindly as she passed through them. She reveled in the few moments of peace. She did not know Rykros well, so her shadow stepping ability was limited. It was nice to finally use it, to finally pass though the comfort of pure darkness. But that comfort was soon broken. Above her, she could see the pale orange of the sun-painted sky. She gripped Lizzy closer, as the light flooded over both of them. From the black between two moss-clothed trees, she stepped, Lizzy tight to her. “Not a word.” She warned, as she gazed up at the sky. It’s going to be light soon. Its best to get going and cover some ground before it comes too bright. No, you need to get some rest. You’ve been flying for three days; you need to be well enough to defend yourself on land. Mother… No flying. Besides, the girl will see, and we don’t want anyone knowing what you are, not for the time being. Krona grumbled. As much as she didn’t like it, her mother made a good point. Well what are we to do with her? Not a clue. It would be best to gain her trust, so you won’t have to waste energy forcing her compliance. And you’ve already ruined that by threatening to kill her. You told me to do that! I just told you to take her with you. The threatening was all you. Now it’s up to you to mend it. Why is it that you choose the most irritating times to play the good mother? Her only response was an amused chuckle. Krona scowled; she hated when her mother did that. “Lizzy.” Her voice was curt, but not cold, “ I am going to set you down. Do not make a sound, do not move. “ She set the girl down gently, and removed her hands from her body. “I apologize for that, but I had to make sure you would not panic and get us both caught. I do not know what that was, but it certainly wasn’t anything that would be friendly to us.” Fallen

Elizabeth squirmed around in the woman's arms angrily. When she was finally freed, her ears folded backwards and she bared her teeth at the girl. "What is wrong with you" she growled. It wasn't like if anyone was coming she wouldn't have followed Krona. Everyone in wormwood seemed to hate her on sight, so why take chances with the paladins. Slowly calming down, she gave a heavy sigh and mumbled, "A-all you had to s-s-say was danger and I w-would ha-have followed."

The girl react in a surprisingly calm manner. Krona has expected all manner or screaming, and clawing and other such shenanigans, but all the girl did was hiss a bit and express her annoyance in words.’ “What is wrong with me? Well it depends on what you think right or wrong. A great many things some would say. Nothing, I say. In fact, everything is right. They are what is wrong” Her lips turned up an icy smile, “Don’t you agree?” She did not wait for answer, simply turned away and addressed the next response, “And one can never be too careful. For all I knew, you were some fool who would scream and run like a frightened animal at the slightest sign of danger. And we couldn’t have that; it could be bad for me if you were killed. But it’s done now.” She turned away, gazing into the dark of trees, where the crumbled, nature word path to the town curled into the darkness, “I doubt they’ll come this far…” Who were they? No idea. Nor do I care any longer. More trash that to be disposed of. Yes…well, what now? You decided to take her with you rather than kill her, so what will you do with her now? Krona bit her lip in thought; she had not though to of what to do with Lizzy once they left the town. Were she on her own, she would have flown till full light, and then made camp somewhere dark and secluded, but she could not do either: to fly would b to reveal herself, and the putrid, slimy grounds of the marsh were not idea for a camp-ground What was she doing there? Was she not injured when you approached her. It almost seemed as thought she were on the run; perhaps those you sensed were looking for her. Krona blinked; she hadn’t thought to ask that. Why would it matter. If you knew her purpose, you could help her. And by doing so gain her trust. We have no connects at the moment; granted this girl may be just another nobody, but there is also a chance that she is someone of value. 50-50 odds are quite good. Ask her. Alright… “I’m curious…what were you doing in the marsh? Obviously something exciting or dangerous…” she gestured to the girl’s bandaged arms. Fallen

Run from a fight? Did she even look Elizabeth over? "Look a-at me. Do I-I-I really look like the r-running type?" she said, pointing out the dirt and suggestive bloody smears from last night's scrap. "A-as for why I w-w-was here, I was j-just sent to find some g-guy. I don't e-even remember his n-eame...something Like A-Arron or Aaron." As she spoke, she looked over her body in disgust. She was filthy. Sure there was a mission to complete, but right now, the vixen really wanted a bath. Krona's eyes scanned the girl, taking in the dimunitive height, the thiness of her limbs, the cherubic roundess of her jaw, the small, child-like features of her face. " Yes, you do." There was no question in her tone. "...but I suppose one cannot strength merely by appearance." Her shoulders lofted and fell in a shrug, "But it's done now. I doubt they will venture this far, but if they do Ill be sure to allow you unless your fox-like fury on their heads." She gave the girl a teasing wink as she turned away. If they do venture this far the only fury that will be unleashed is that of God upon your heads.
Your fear of the light makes you too doubtful mother. I have defeated more than a few holy beings.
Hmzph...Krona did not let her face show her irritation; even after all they had accomplished, her mother still doubted her strength and will. And she knew that until the last light of earth had been consumed by darkness, her mother would continue to doubt, no matter what great feats she accomplished. She gritted her teeth togher, as the rage he kept locked away began eating at its comfines. Breathe...She sucked in a deep breath - and nealy gagged as stale air filled her lungs - and breathed out. This was neither the time nor the place for emotions; it was never the time or place for emotions. Emotions were a hiderance to progress. Only logical, calculated thought brought results. Calm filled her, as the breath left her. Focu. She needed to get some information from this girl see if she would be of use to her. She turned back to the girl, who was now asking for a bath. Krona scanned the land around them; nothing but gnarled trres standing in murky water for as far as she could see. "Go find one if you wish, but I doubt youll find anything but rancid murk to bath in here....and youre welcome to bathe in that, just don't come near me afterward. We might need to venture further, to dry ground, to set up a camp."She began walking northward, gesturing for Lizzy to follow. As she talked he questioned. "SO you were sent on a mission to find a man. For what reason?"Fallen

"I d-don't even know. Lady L-L-Liliana just said to f-find w-where he w-was." she said, not noticing that Krona had started leaving. Once she did though, Elizabeth quickly jumped up and ran after her, tripping as her foot got caught in the mud. With a quick cough, the muddy girl wiped her face, and that's when she realized it. Her mask was still back at the inn. She must not have realized she never put it back on that night. Fear quickly gripped her and she struggled to get her words out to Korna. "W-w-w-w-w-w-e n-n-nn-need to g-g-g-g-go b-back! NOW" she cried, her voice rich with deep concern.

Lady Lilianna...It was a name she whispered by many, as though the very sound of it was powerful. It was a name that graced the pages of many books, dancing between lines that told of great power and influence. Her lips turned up into her mile. I told you we shouldn't kill her.
I wouldnt get your hopes up too high. It may not be the Lilianna you read about.It was a good point. But if the girl was not insane, or lying, and did indeed have some connection to this powerful "Lilianna", Krona was certainly in luck. Friends in high places took one far. And she intended to make many. But it also could be the Lilianna I read about. One gets nowhere if they take not chances mother. You should know that better than I....Very true. Bu...Her mother's thought was drowned by fractic cries of the girl. Krona's hand snapped to the handle of her whip, ready to lash out against any danger. It would be a shame if the girl died now. But there was no bloodthirsty creature or man preying on the girl. No, Lizzy was making some noise about having to return from where they just came. ...is she mad? Why would we walk back into the fire we just walked out of?Krona ignored her mothers ranting, turning her full attention to the girl. It was top priority to gain her trust, to please her. Elizabeth frantically gripped at her face repeated and fell to her knees, shaking frantically. "M-my mask....I l-lost my m-mask," she whimpered. To most, it didn't seem like that big of a deal to lose something as trivial as a mask, but to the Kakurenbo, it was their life. Even if she didn't wear it directly over her face all the time, she'd still sooner die than lose it. "We have t-to go b-back!" she repeated, running over to Krona and grabbing hold of her arm which she tugged in the direction of where they were coming from.

A Mask, what foolishness is this? Are you sure it wouldnt be better to kill her?The same question was crossing Krona's mind as she glazed down at the girl wtih eyes that were pools of disdain. It was entirely ridiculous for this girl wring her hands and clitching her head like a grief-sticken widow over something so trivial as a mask. "Look girl, stop it...I..."She reeled back as Lizzy suddly sprang forward and grabbed her arm. Krona wretched the limb back as though her touch was poision. Red tainted the deep annoyance in her eyes. ANd people wondered why she disliked animals. Shes isnt really an animal.
Well shes certainly acting like one.A part of her debated simply picking the girl up and dragging her away, but she sensed the girl would give her grief till she got her mask back. And, she needed to keep things pleasant with the girl, no matter how much the girl made her want to stab her in the neck. "Alright! We'll go back for this mask! Just shut your mouth!" Krona resisted the urge to grab Lizzy by the hair and instead wrapped her arm about her torso as before. In he rmind, she conjured the image of the town, of the haunted faces of the buildings, the skeletal trees, and, battered grounds. She stepped back into the shadows. Fallen
