NAME: Bay
RANK: Omega
AGE: Four
GENDER: Female
RELATIONS: Blight - Brother
EXTRA INFORMATION: She worships her brother fiercely.
- PERSONALITY:
- Bay is a timid wolf. She's smart, she's creative, but she terrified of showing her ideas to anyone, in the fear of getting snapped at. She can learn fast, given that she's quite smart, but she prefers to be quiet. She gives and gives, hardly ever taking for herself. She doesn't ask for help and keeps to herself. She doesn't argue when she's summoned or needed, she simply goes, a true people-pleaser. She doesn't pity herself, but only tends to show emotion to her brother.
- HISTORY:
- Her mother was a loner who roamed from pack to pack, never truly settling. She never liked to be in one place, or attached to any person. There was one male, who must have been the father, that took her by surprise, capturing her attention and taking care of her as long as she permitted him to do so. They fell in love, and it seemed like the mother fae was finally going to settle down with a mate. The father of her pups. Yet, the night she gave birth, the brute left her cold, to fend for herself and the five pups by herself. This wounded the fae. Turned her cold. How was she supposed to take care of five pups that couldn't open their eyes, and herself without some assistance? She couldn't take up her pups with her when she went hunting. She was alone, just as she had chosen to be before this brute. But she wouldn't fail these pups, no. She found a way to make it work. She raised all five little pups by herself, receiving little help along the way. This was her achievement. No one else's. These pups were her own. Not their deadbeat father's. Her heart turned cold, but these pups were hers.
It seemed the bitterness overtook the fae, however. When the pups were of age, she lashed put upon them with a ferocity unknown to their young forms. She chose her healthiest pup, and gave him the task of killing off the rest of his litter mates. A kill or be killed situation. The small yelps were what woke Bay up on that night, but seeing the carnage, and her mother's cruel look, she feigned sleep, trying to keep her breathing as normal as possible. She was the smallest. She was the weakest. Her mother should have rolled over on her, instead of subjecting her to this. Finally, it was her turn. There were no pups left between herself and her brother's teeth. She cringed, her eyes opening into slits, waiting for jaws to close over her throat, and end her existence. She didn't understand why Blight was doing this, or why their mother was allowing this to happen, but it must have been for good reason, was it not? The pause was strange. Blight looked almost frightened. He yelled out apologies to nothingness, and it seemed as though their mother was roused from whatever state she found herself in, and protected Bay, who curled tightly to herself. Could she trust her mother? Or her brother? She had no clue.
It wasn't much after that Blight left, leaving Bay alone with their mother. Bay didn't trust her brother, nor her mother. But after the loss of Blight, the fae turned hard once more. More often then not, the older fae made mention that Bay was a useless pup. That she was good for nothing, and never would be. And Bay believed her. With no other reason or thought, Bay figured her mother was correct. She was useless. She lived under her mother's wing, serving whatever purpose her mother needed. That was all she was good for. Providing warmth for the aging fae, and bringing in food, that frequently, Bay missed out on. Winter was cold one year, and snuck up on Bay and her mother. The snow storms came before they found a den to hide away in. The elder fae froze over in her sleep. Bay was left alone, and to fend for herself. With no help, and no formal training in much of anything, it was a harsh experience. She tried to hunt, but found nothing to feed her belly. She couldn't even find her den again. Lost in cold and hunger, bay laid down to die, certain the weather would take her, just as it took her mother, but a miracle happened. Blight found her.
He saved her. He took her to a den he had been staying in, and nursed her back to help. She stuck close to him after that. He was her savior, and he deserved to be worshiped for his actions. This was not the first time he had saved her. No. He had saved her before. And now, he had had the mercy and resolve to do it again. Bay vowed from that point on, that whatever her brother needed, she would give to him. It didn't matter what it was. Flesh, blood, fur, warmth, food, anything he desired would be his. She traveled with him, keeping this vow to him, and as they settled upon Mujihi land, they joined the pack. Not being good for much of anything, other then protecting Blight, Bay found herself without rank or purpose. just a member milling around. She only got in the way skittish and afraid of other wolves. She was demoted further, to an omega. That suited her much better. She didn't have to think. She simply had to do as she was told. If she was called, she would come. If she was struck, she laid there until she was left alone. It seemed more fitting for her life. At least it gave her purpose. She could still care for Blight this way, and that was all that mattered.
