[[ World information ]]
[[ Our Mission and Dedication ]] Our Mission is to provide a friendly and family-like community for those with our common interest: monsters, horror and A LOVE FOR RP. This shop's staff were carefully hand picked for their care and dedication toward this shop. We would like to share with you Horror High, a monster world carved and made by Chi Sohma. Along with her inspirations we invite you into our world, helping to provide you with the safest way to enjoy nightmares! [[ Our Inspirations ]] To get a good idea of what you will be in for, here are some of the inspirations we have drawn the shop out from. They are loosely based, with some grasping concepts of the following iconic symbols. All rights reserve to proper owners: Monster High, HALLOWEENTOWN, Harry Potter, Halloween Tree, Nightmare before Christmas and monster movies, and books of all kinds!
Now, we will like to stress that those, are our inspirations and NOT what the shop is completely about. Just imagine all those cooked together in a pot, then add the extra special ingredient called Chi's Brain. With A HUGE creative license and constant changes, we have the world of Horror High! A world... very different then our own. So let us welcome you in to the doors of Horror High!
Where being a monster.. is...well. Mandatory!

[[ The Culture ]]
Horror High takes place in a modern day society. Things like laptops and iphones exist to an extent. As in Monster High, these new technologies are usable but they are geared towards the horrific versions of these items. This also goes for websites.
Examples: Items like iphones will have a real eyeball. A Laptop will literately have 'bugs' in them. ( You should try and clean those out D; ). Websites, like Facebook = Fearbook, The Daily Horoscope = The Daily Horrorscope, The News = The Bruise News, things of that nature.
Horror High also follows and mirrors what a human ('normie') school will have when speaking in societal standards. The school is HIGHLY strict on the no-bullying rule- anyone caught doing out-of-the-norm pranks and more hateful actions will be kicked out immediately, or actions will be taken against said student. It is not uncommon for stuck-up and popular characters to try and rule the school, this is inevitable. Anyone who has connections with high profile entertainers ( dead artists/singers, especially Michael Jackson with thriller ) and the like will most likely be popular, but it's also about style! These new age monsters have a lot of it, and sport drop dead gorgeous styles from heads to toes. This isn't the only thing that can get you higher in the polls, though! Trouble-makers seem to always make their way in the popularity poll too, but social status may or may not have some influence.
Pranks are usually seen as jokes, and a welcoming/breaking the ice sort of thing. The school does not frown upon it; they do quite the opposite. Being extra friendly, the school prides themselves of reforming chaotically dangerous monsters to members of modern monster society.
So you see, our monstrous culture has taken on a new reform to refine how we see monsters. We're more civilized! But that doesn't mean we've retired from scaring your average normies. That's one of our favorite pastimes still!
Now, a side note from the culture in the school: how the town views the school is sometimes a different story. Shops keep up with modern times as always, but once you leave the outskirts of town you might find some prejudice. Students are urged and warned not to venture too far. The new culture concepts are not agreeable to most old-fashioned monsters and may be dangerous. When students go off for spring break, summer breaks, winter breaks- they are sent in buses to their parents door. That's how 'safe' horror high tries to be.
It is also not uncommon for parents to barge in to Horror High when they find out that their counterpart let their child come to the school as only one parent signature is needed to be approved. Hostility towards Horror High sometimes occurs, but we can assure you that within school walls, students are safe. The town supports the new monster era and will do anything within their power to keep the school safe as well. Most shop-keepers are friendly in town square! This is the town where the most monsters come to reform and become.. civilized!

[[ The School ]]
A seemingly old-styled facility ( though it was recently built ), has become the home of Horror High. The school's dorms are huge, and the acrege is vast, even housing a Clawege in the works. There are massive courtyards and the like, but that does not compare to how big the school is. Parts of the school are closed off, but the build is generally a large maze, although fairly easy to find you way around... unless you hit the catacombs. There are dreadful rumors going about, but we only know from the few students who have sneaked down there- it is usually kept in lock-down.
The Courtyard is split in two: the forbidden forest, and the enchanted courtyard. Students cannot generally venture into the forbidden forest unless accompanied by a teacher, whereas the enchanted courtyard is more a 'relaxing' and 'fun' place to be. It does 'play' with and mother students back , but it has been known to have a very dry sense of humor sometimes! The enchanted courtyard is where most sports are played.
The halls are home to friendly historical ghosts; some may even help tutor you! Paintings may come to life, but the older ones are quite judgmental. The school in itself has a few curses and spells that bind to students. Some of those very important!
Info you need to know: :// Through Freshmeat-Junior Years, High School Students should be humanoid monsters. Basically 'neko' styled with influences of their monster. ( Hands, Feet, Tail, Ears, scales/fins small things- only ) :// When they become seniors they can have DIFFERENT lower halves. ( REAL Nagas, Dryders, Centaurs etc ) :// IC Reason for this, is because of two major spells have been cast upon those attending the school due to safety regulations. :// ICC Height Spell, this keeps students at a reasonable height below 6'5". ( 6 feet , 5inches ). :// ICC Monster Suppression Spell, Keeps the students looking as uniform as they're going to get, as well helping to conserve space except for Seniors. The spell weakens as the individual becomes stronger. :// OOC/ ICC Seniors, Because the school is all about personal growth, the spells start to wear down around senior year and more monster characteristics can occur. Some students may never become stronger than the spell and wait until they graduate Clawege to go in to their original forms.

[[ Our World Vs the Human world ]]
You can say this please is really suburban. It's where monsters come for 'open minded' and accepting places to live. It's rather peaceful except for the occasional trouble-making kids that often cause minor mischief. Its a really good place to live, and they have parties once a month. Why? For them Halloween is every day, but they celebrate once a month! Who knows why? This is where they introduce themselves to the new monsters in town, and also invite the monsters from the 'human' world in to the monster world. Sometimes they even have festivals for special holidays from different monsters.
The town square's center is a huge pumpkin. Yep, a huge pumpkin.
Rumors and legends say that the pumpkin in town square was from the headless horseman, while other say its the head of a great King... No one knows for sure. Mothers and Grannies say it's just some pumpkin~ The towns monsters are mostly if not all friendly and the public transportation system is amazing! Always on time! ( We don't let zombies apply no worries biggrin ) Also, students are also encouraged to apply for summer/winter/spring jobs, and usually are praised/given extra credit for doing so!
As you get towards the outskirts of the suburbs, you will see where the more bitter residence where some of the monster world has come to live. It is a dangerous place, and not all of this monster world is happy-go-lucky. Please be advised to be extra careful while venturing outside of town.
Yes- We live in an alternate dimension!? Yes.
Speaking of another heavier subject- Humans VS Monsters?! The only real transportation from our world to the human world is through a unique bussing system. We thank our wizards and witches for helping to conjure up this unique ability given to our buses! Monsters often live among the humans for ages... but now that we live in a dimension of our own, we encourage all monsters to find their way here- to live in peace. Granted, we do sually slip into the human world during Halloween~ 83.
The history lesson to that is that a long time ago- when monsters made themselves known to the humans, they asked for equal rights which were denied, especially when finding that some monsters had incredible powers. Unlike the movies/shows of X-Men, living among the humans was just too dangerous for monsters and thus- by the obligations of the President John Hanson (( 1781-1782 A.D ))- he wished to no longer plague human citizens and monsters alike with brutalities against them. With the Salem witch trials, he proceeded to tell monsters to go else where. Later down the road, to conceal those that still remained in the human world, Area 51 was created and the top-secret government projects to conceal monsters were in full effect.
Although it is not uncommon to hear monsters being 'prisoners of war', in different countries (experimented on, and worse), the world of monsters is very secret... and very unique. Us existing among humans would shatter their world and beliefs. Thus, the only way for us to live in peace and safety is to have created our own world.
