Remarque had plenty of things to occupy his time with—between work, and school and draining energy. There were still evenings that he felt bored. It was an emotion he'd often struggled with—when things just weren't exciting enough for him to care about much of anything. Typically, his go-to was to go pick a fight, but with no order aligned signatures freckling the area around him, his options were limited. He could pick a fight with a bum—maybe an angry squirrel, if he looked hard enough to find one.
Or he could meander towards the Chaos signature just on the horizon and see where that lead him.
Anything other than a lieutenant would have been a nice change, and after his latest conversations, he found himself considering the Negaverse in a much better light. He wouldn't call them pals by any means, but certainly they weren't as much of a nuisance as he sometimes took them for. While he was certain that picking a fight with a Captain wouldn't go over well, that didn't bar him from conversing with one. And—hey, if that lead to a fight, who was going to blame him?
He meandered closer to the aura, not bothering to rush himself, yet still walking with obvious purpose.
One night, he might go insane from boredom, but at the very least, he wasn't going to let that night be tonight.

There was something just not right about a thirty-one year-old man prowling the streets to beat up sixteen year-old girls. Captain Osumilite didn't care what the Negaverse had to say on that front. The Senshi may be a threat and he still performed his duty of patrolling, but picking needless fights weren't quite up his alley. There were other, more calculated ways to take an enemy down than that. Plus, the age difference.
Oh god, he's getting old. He's thirty one. His son is three. He frowned.
"I need a ******** cigarette," he mumbled as he took out his pack. A slight tingle warned him of an approaching Chaos energy signal. Better not slack off. He started to push the cigarette back into the pack until he realized it was just a Dark Mirror Senshi. Not one of his superiors. "Oh, its just one of you people."
He took out the cigarette and lit up. He took a long drag of the cigarette before re-noticing the Senshi.
"What's up?" he asked, a brow raised. He didn't really make a habit of talking with Dark Mirror Senshi. Or twenty-year-olds. Or at least not twenty-year-old men.

Despite the sort of lackluster greeting, Remarque couldn't say that he was entirely disappointed. Already this had started out better than half his Negaverse encounters—which, unfortunately, wasn't really saying much. Remarque's approach was did not halt until he came to stand just a few feet away from the Captain. "'Just one of you people'? Well that almost makes it sound like you don't much like us." Which would have been a damn shame since the Dark Mirror Court was the best damn thing this war had to offer. They might have been allies, officially, but Remarque would always retain his bias. He knew more than his fair share of Negaversers who held at least moderate disdain for the Court, though the more he met, the less he let himself be discouraged. He didn't have much happening this evening, though wasn't admit that there was absolutely nothing 'up'. He shrugged, brushing off a sleeve as though he had accumulated some invisible dust. He answered Osumilite's question despite his earlier comment, figuring that if this Captain thought any less of the Dark Mirror Court than he did of the Negaverse, he was entitled to make as many mistakes as he wanted. "But I suppose there's nothing glorious happening this evening. Unless someone's up to no good and forgot to invite me. You?"

"There's nothing going on," Osumilite insisted. "People wouldn't forget to invite me. I'm always on the VIP list. The name's Captain Osumilite, though you can just call me Captain Awesome. Or God. Take your pick." He grinned as he took another drag of his cigarette. There was probably something equally as ******** up with a grown man referring to himself as either of those nicknames as there was the same man beating up teenagers, but hey. What are you going to do?
"What do they call you?" he asked. "I gotta say, I haven't seen many of you male Senshi, especially in the Dark Mirrors. You're sort of defeating my whole Tit Brigade nickname for them. Fun-killer."

"Oh, full of ourselves, aren't we. Well, Captain Awesome," he said, amusement dripping in his voice, "If I'm ruining your little stereotype, I'm sure you can come up with something a bit more creative than 'Tit Brigade'." For the most part, it seemed a mostly accurate nickname, though; even Remarque couldn't argue with that. He'd long since noticed that the male to female ratio was vastly different—but how could he complain about it? He was surrounded by attractive girls on a daily basis. Of course, his girlfriend had to take priority over the rest of them, but who was he to deny the general attractiveness of the rest of his team?
"Remarque," he introduced, always in a good mood when he got to talk about himself. "Vice Captain of the DMC, and senshi of puppetry."
If Osumilite had been an attractive women, he might have tossed in a 'pleasure to meet you', but on a guy, that line never quite felt right. Besides—he wasn't even sure if it was a pleasure. At the very least, running into Osumilite had at least taken his level of boredom down a notch.

"It's only wrong to be arrogant if there's no ground to stand on. Otherwise its just being honest about my greatness," Osumilite winked. "Your group's nickname is a work in progress. Apparently p***y Riot is being used by the Russians."
His interest piqued at the mention of the Senshi's title.
"Vice Captain, huh?" he questioned. "Sounds like you're a good person to know. What sort of responsibilities does that title hold? I mean, you do know what responsibilities are, right? You're not that young, even if you are the Senshi of Puberty."
His listening skills sort of dropped after the words 'Vice-Captain.'

While Remarque could only agree with Osumilite's opinion on arrogance, it was his own arrogance that had him rolling his eyes. Remarque thought particularly highly of himself, though had yet to go about introducing himself as 'the Remarkable senshi of Puppetry'.
"Puppetry," he corrected, finding it a far more interesting sphere than Puberty. Though if he'd been the Senshi of Puberty, he'd have loved to slap some acne on this guy's face just to knock him down a notch. " And, no, I am 'not that young' so as I don't know what is expected of me. As Vice Captain, I have a select range of duties." None of which he had any gripes against; he thoroughly enjoyed his job and was reluctant to go into terrible detail with anyone he wasn't sure he trusted. "I look out for the others, keep them educated, make sure they can handle their jobs. I suppose I'd be the one to go to if they had any, say, sexual harassment claims," he said, giving Osumilite a rather pointed look.

"Is there a lot of sexual harassment going on in the Dark Mirrors?" Osumilite asked. "Wait, was that directed at me? Please. I'm thirty-one. I have no interest in girls who still have to sneak into bars. I think that's more your playing field, Senshi of Puberty." He didn't really care that he had already been corrected on this sphere. Osumilite preferred his version.
"That's nice that you look out for others though," Osumilite continued. "We've sorta got that in the Negaverse, but ugh those ******** kids bug the s**t out of me sometimes. They're just so immature most of the time; they can all go and suck my d**k." Osumilite, the pinnacle of maturity. "There's been some older recruits lately. Mostly women too, not so bad." He grinned from ear to ear and didn't try to conceal it.
"Of course, I'm stuck dating one of them so that kind of blows, but hey, every guy's gotta have some kind of hell to go through, right?"

While Remarque was half tempted to correct Osumilite, the little voice in the back of his head told him that it wasn't worth his breath. Sometimes he wondered why the Dark Mirror Court bothered to deal with Negaversers at all, and this certainly wasn't helping the case. While it went against his morals, he instead decided it best to just push away from Osumilite's inability to understand and comprehend basic speech.
"Nice of you to speak so highly of your teammates," he noted, and while he could understand the frustration, the last thing he was going to do was complain about any weaknesses in the Court. He himself didn't particularly care for older recruits, though he was torn with the addition of more women. On one hand, they were more aesthetic. On the other hand, he figured that being women left them a bit weaker than their male counterparts—and there was only so much that he could admire without incurring Lesath's wrath.
Actually, there wasn't anything he could admire without incurring her wrath.
"If you're not happy being tied down, why not just drop her?" he prompted, though he could only imagine the complications such a thing might do. If he ever dumped Raven, he wasn't sure he'd live through the first night—and not out of heartbreak or grief. No, she'd probably—literally—try to kill him in his sleep.

"I think she'd probably - literally - try to kill me in my sleep," Osumilite shrugged. "And what would the world be without me?" Osumilite winked as he dropped the cigarette and stomped it out. "She's in the Negaverse, so it complicates things. I'm just not a man to be tied down, but you can't just go and dump General Painite. And ********, I don't know..."
"...maybe its important to be in some significant relationship in your life, or something. Maybe its not bad to share my life with someone" Osumilite was getting all serious business up in here. "I'd just rather share my life with multiple women. Different ones each night. Maybe some overlap."
He grinned again. "How about you? You have a girlfriend?"

A bemused smile nearly twitched onto his face when he realized Osumilite's situation probably paralleled his own. "Ah, General Painite. Yeah, I don't really imagine she's one you'd be able to get away with breaking up with." What with her affinity with spearing people? He didn't envy Osumilite in the slightest.
"Yep," Remarque answered simply enough. "Lesath. Who I suppose would take a break up just as well as Painite." Hell, she might even take it better—and that was a damn near scary thought. Crossing his arms over his chest, he couldn't help but inquire, "If you're so interested in sharing your life with multiple women, why'd you bother settling for one?"

"There was a time that I thought it was right," Osumilte shrugged. "Just the girl I wanted wasn't available. I guess I projected how I felt to the wrong girl and put myself in my own goddamn mess. Bunch of other s**t too, tough times. It felt right at the time but hindsight is 20-20."
"What about you? Thinking of breaking it off with your girl, despite it all?" he asked. "Or not worth the risk? Or are you one of those lovesick puppy types?"

Remarque rolled his eyes. "Oh, please." Him? Lovesick puppy? Well, if that wasn't just about the most ridiculous thing he'd ever heard. "She's grown on me, but I don't suppose I'd partner myself with any girl that I didn't think I'd get along with."
Sure, Raven might have pushed for a relationship back when he'd severely doubted that's what he was looking for, but in the end, she'd surprised him. Despite her nagging and worrying and jealous nature, she wasn't in the slightest bit unpleasant. She wasn't afraid to stand up for herself and while she could be a damn pain in the a**, there was a little voice in the back of his head (a stupid voice, he sometimes figured) that told her she was work it.
"I like her," he concluded, which was just about as soft as Remarque could get. It was hard enough expressing emotion to Raven, much less talking to others about his feelings. "And I don't intend to break it off."

"Well that's good for you, kid," Osumilite shrugged. He wasn't sure he felt the same way about Gently. Sure, he liked her. A lot. But he didn't see a future with her, or at least not one shared with other women - so realistically, there wasn't a future. And he was sort of okay with that, and what it meant he'd have to eventually do. Other than the whole...aftermath. "I should get going back home," Osumilte thought aloud. He knew Gently wouldn't be wondering where he was - they were both in the Negaverse and went on patrols at night - but he did need to get home before her to wash off the smell of cigarette smoke. "It was nice meeting you, Remarque, Senshi of Puberty."

"Keep calling me that and I'll have to kick your a** for it," Remarque warned, and while he still spoke in good humor, there was a fair bit of seriousness beneath his words. He did not consider himself to be taken lightly—even when speaking to someone older than himself. "But I'll let it slide. This time. Good talking with you, I'll see you around some time. Good luck, with your lady friend."
He flashed a grin, however fleeting, and nodded his head in farewell before he turned away. He still had quite a fair bit of time before he'd planned to head home, and while he'd enjoyed his conversation with the Captain, he figured he ought to spend the rest of the evening gathering energy.
