At G.U.N. headquarters, soldiers of all classes frantically run around for answers on why the entire planet is becoming unbearable for any living to live at all. G.U.N. scientists all scurried trying to find ways to stop the plantation from dying.

As for one of their best agent, Shadow The Hedgehog, he just sits and wait as he does not care of what is going on.
Rouge, a bat, walked up to Shadow, "It's surprising to see you just sitting here and letting everyone die from starvation and thirst." She said, glaring at Shadow.
"Hmph..." Shadow looked away, "Why should it matter to me? It's more likely the fault of these humans for wasting all the food and water to begin with."

"But what about us? Our kind?" Rouge said.

Shadow didn't say a word.

A soldier came to the same room, "The Commander has requested to see you, Shadow The Hedgehog."

Shadow stared at the soldier, "Fine. Something to do while I avoid all of this unnecessary mess..." He headed towards the commander's room, "You wanted to see me?"

"Shadow..." The Commander spoke, staring at the glass that looks out at the people below on computers and a huge map. "I'm sure you are aware of the news... Our planet is coming to an end. So they say." He looked over at Shadow, "I'm sure you have no reason to care... but we are asking for your help. Without this planet, you'll be affected as well."

"..." Shadow crossed his arms.

"Understand that everyone on this planet is starving from no food... and our oceans are beginning to dry up... leaving more places without any water and leaving most places in a drought." The Commander laid out a map on his desk, "Our soldiers found something that may be linked to this disaster." He pointed at the map, where a red circle is marked, "My men discovered a great disturbance here. You see, it's in the middle of a desert but my men said as soon as they pass a certain part of this area, they are lost in what seemed to be paradise. Although they described it as a dying paradise... Even our machinery were not working as soon as they pass a barrier into this so-called paradise... but our of our devices did detect Chaos energy. Large amounts, actually. They said the device acted as if the Chaos Emeralds were brought together... or the Master Emerald could be nearby... This is why I called you for this mission since you might be interested in this Chaos Energy."

Shadow frowned and stared at the map, "Fine... I'll go and see..."

The Commander smiled, "Thank you. It may be a clue to what is causing our planet to die... Bring Rouge with you on this mission... but I also request that you bring someone else..."

"Who?"

The Commander frowned.


Meanwhile, a blue hedgehog raced through the valleys and desert. He looked worried, seeing that everything around him is dying. Sonic was beginning to believe that this is the end for him. For everyone if they don't do something.

(we can have it that everyone already knows each other)

Shadow stomped out of the G.U.N. base, looking really pissed.
Rouge shrugged, "The commander said he need him for this... since you two run faster than anyone else..."

"Why the hell do we need that annoying pest in our team?!" Shadow snarled.

"Sonic can run more than the speed of sound. The faster this mission is done, the faster we can discover with what is wrong with this planet." Omega said.

"He will slow us down with his attitude!" Shadow crossed his arms, "I refuse to do this mission."
Rouge punched Shadow in the head, "Get this, Shadow! If we don't fix the problem with our world, we'll be all dead! I don't want to lose my jewels because of you!"

Shadow growled at Rouge, "It's always about your jewels..." he said, rubbing his head a bit.

Sonic arrived at the desert. He was holding a Chaos Emerald on his hand, which is glowing brighter and brighter as he arrives at the desert, "Maybe another emerald..." He then spotted Jewel, up ahead, "Jewel!"

Sonic smiled, "Same thing I want to ask you... but I'm jsut looking around wondering what my Chaos Emerald is trying to show me..." He said, holding a blue Chaos Emerald "Some kind of disturbance... or something... here."

Shadow got on his morotocycle, that was given to him by G.U.N.

"Why are we going on that contraption?" Rouge said, "We need to look for Sonic FAST."

"And?" Shadow stared at Rouge, "Someone like you who flies so utterly slow need to somehow keep up..."

Rouge rolled her eyes, "I'm not even part of this mission... I'm being sent some where else."

"Where?"

"To investigate if Eggman has anything to do with this would natural disturbance.."

"The Commander believes the good doctor could be involved?" Shadow scoffed, "Tch... I highly doubt someone like him will do anything this extrodinary..." He held out his Chaos Emerald, after jumping out of the motorcycle. "Come along, Omega."

Omega stood still, "I'm also assigned a mission by the Commander. I'm being sent to aid Rouge in her mission."

Shadow glared at Omega, "You serious?! So I'm stuck with the blue hedgehog?! Myself?!"

"I have no power against our leader."

"Fine." Shadow held the emerald up.

"Know anywhere to start?" Rouge asked.

"Sonic has his own Chaos Emerald." Shadow said, "I can find him through it with my own."

(I was thinking.... since everyone know each other... wanna make it that all the events from the past RPs are in their memory or something? O: like we can make it that Shadow and Jewel used to be in a relationship or something but broke up or something... o.O we can make it funny ;D )

Shadow appeared right behind Sonic, "There you are..." He said.

Sonic jumped a bit and looked back at Shadow, "Oh hey Shad!" He smiled, "Startled me... Uh... were you looking for me?"

"Yes..." Shadow then looked at Jewel then at Sonic, "Was I interrupting?"

Sonic looked at Jewel then at Shadow, "Not really. We were just catching up... like good times?" He sweat dropped, feeling a bit awkward being between the ex-couple.

Sonic reached over to Jewel, "Stick with us, actually." He said with a smile.

"She will interfere with the mission." Shadow said.

"She's my problem, not yours." Sonic frowned, "Now why were you looking for me?"

"The Commander requested that you...." Shadow scoffed, "You join me in an important mission." He took out a piece of paper, containing the Commander's message to Sonic.

"Me?" Sonic grabbed the paper and read it, "What would they want from me?"

"Because of your speed... it can help us.." Shadow then stared at Jewel.

"Top secret?" Sonic perked his ears and looked at Shadow, "Is this top secret?"

"It involves trying to find out what is going on with this planet and why it's happening.. so yes."

Sonic shrugged, "Well... everyone knows that this planet is going downhill... AND G.U.N. told everyone that they are taking care of it... so no." He smiled at Jewel.

Sonic smiled at Jewel.

Shadow rolled his eyes. He looked into a device, "Hmmm how uncanny... you brought me straight to this place..."

"What do you mean?"

"This was our destination."

Both hedgehogs looked at the same direction at where they were supposed to head to.

"So.... I see nothing but... dirt..."

Shadow poked at the air, which his finger disappeared into, "Hmm..." He then walked through the area his finger vanished in. He vanished too.
