The local merchant caravan that comes into the village, has seemed to fallen behind schedule... by too long. Otogakure had made a negotiation with them years ago to aid in the economy. If they decide to pull out, it is our job to negotiate with them and get them back. If they are in trouble, aiding them will help further us along. The team Miyako, Makoto, and Airi will go, with Miyako in charge, to ensure the mission goes well. Meet at the north edge of the village on the main road. Good luck!

Makoto yawned with a smile on his face, having a great nap before a mission was all he really needed. But the details about it were still off, he was being led by Miyako and Airi was going to assist them as well. He really didn’t mind about Airi to be honest, he could trust her with his life… in fact, he did once. But whatever the case was, he was ready for the mission that was ahead of them all to face. Collecting the wooden weaponry he had taken care of for so long, makoto went straight to the rendezvous point to begin his mission. Arriving at the sight, he saw that there was another girl there… Makoto released a ragged breath before approaching Miyako. “ Hey… I heard you were leading the mission Miyako. My name is Makoto. “ Spoke the academy swordsman with a welcoming tone, but he was alert and focused.

Nodding to her with a slight smile, Makoto reached out and collected the map from her as he listened to her chatting. Taking a good look at the moment for a moment, makoto looked at the map and started to think about where they needed to go. After examining the moment for a few good moments, makoto seemed to smile as he looked up at the group and back at the map that was in his hands. They were going to be heading west, and from the looks of things on the map. Along the edge of the forest too, but this bared closer examination.

Thinking more about it, it did make since for them to go along the edge of the forest. But there were several quicker ways to get there, but the safest was also the longest of them all. He was going to have to ask them about that one, they were going to be a team and miyako was in charge of them all. This made him think if this was more than it seemed, this was her mission and to have them check out the map like this was her idea of leadership? More than that was being tested here, but he was starting to wonder if this was his genin test.

The third part of what they needed to know was after the forest, was a hard one, but looking around for a moment revealed the answers he needed to know. They were going to be passing a few rice fields to get there but he also found another shortcut, but this was also opened for the group to know and decide. But he was interested to find a strange item on a map, he didn’t realize it for a moment until now but there was a small place to eat along the short cut as well. It was interesting what shortcuts can reveal, and it could save them at least an hour of time.

“ Okay, so far this is what I’ve been able to come up with Miyako. We are to first travel west to this point, before making a decision. “Spoke Makoto as he pointed to a splitting path in the road. “ There were three ways to go from here. They all lead through the forest, but two are short cuts that will buy us time… but the safest is also the longest here, your call to be honest. After that, We will be heading into a rice field. By this point, there are two paths we can follow. We can go throw the small area here of builds to buy us an hour, or continue down the long path here. “ spoke makoto, pointing out the small place fill of houses and the long road that had them walking in the wrong direction.

Thinking about it for a moment, the short cuts could buy them time… but heaven knows what they might come across along them shortcuts. But the longest paths were used by the caravans anyway, for safety purposes and all that good stuff. Makoto smiled and shock his head as he examined the map one more time, he had to think about the distance as well. If they took the longest and safest root, they would be camping and starting back up in the morning. But if they took the shortcuts, they could go farther and camp closer to the caravan. It was up to the team leader to decide which ever was a good choose for them, but whatever they chose was… he was going to support it.

Around the caravan route, Makoto starts to notice quite a few red marks with a small letter next to them. After a moment of looking threw them all, he had already decided that the path in question was un-acceptable for traveling. Makoto, just then, notices a small key lining the bottom of the page which indicates what each letter is for. T for Theft, M for murder, B for bandit raids, A for arson, and K for kidnapping. His judgement was correct about that path, going down that road would be suicidal for not only the team… but for him as well. Looking back at the team leader and Airi, Makoto stared at Airi for a moment before a smile appeared on his face. He was going to do the right thing and was going to call it off. “Miyako… there is something I want to show you before we head on. “ Spoke makoto as looked at her with an honest smile, before he looked back at Airi.

Approaching the team leader again, he showed off the map to her before he pointed out the red X’s on the map. If she could see them, then she could see that they were marked in letters. “I believe that traveling this way is a very bad idea, with all the stuff threw that road… it is a very dangerous path. Might I suggest that we take the center path? It’s also short but we can get something to eat there, and to have a place to stay for the night. But also… there is no bridge there from what I can see, but who knows. “Spoke makoto as he pointed out all of the details on the map to her, looking back at Airi to wave her over with a smile. But he had his own plans on this mission.

“Judging from the distance, it is possible to get there before the sun sets, if all goes according to plan. Going the long way will of course take much longer and will cause us to camp. So in my mind, route two is the safest route there is. We can do stuff here but we need to check out the water here that divides this with the other road, if possible… he might need to make a short cut across to the longer road and continue on from there. This is where I put my complete life into Airi’s hands, her knowledge of the forest and following the water from a safe distance away… I’m sure we will reach the bridge while making our own shortcut. “Spoke to makoto as he smiled to Airi and gave her a wink and approval, he was honest with his friend around. He trusted her to do well and Airi never let him down before, if nothing else. Makoto proved that he had faith in her, and he was willing to trust her deeply.

Makoto also noticed that some of the map is a little worn out, due to much use over time. One thing you notice is a tea cup stain just north of the village, which seemed to distort some of the map. There is something written near there, however, it is now impossible to read. This was a bad thing, but he was going to bring that part of the trip up later… but for now, the trip was going to take a while. But he was going to speak his mind on the matter at hand. “ Also there is a tea cup stain here, but with this comes a bigger question… what is there that we need to know? I think when we go eat; we need to look around for answers. Because if there is something important there, that we need to know about… then that information will help us out. “

Looking further ahead you notice that we will have to travel north after staying at Shūshū. You see a few small green circles and deduce that this indicates possible locations for where the caravan could be at. Nodding at this information that he was originally looking for, he was also going to share this information to his team mates. “Also… I think I may have a few ideas as to where the caravan we are looking for may be at. But yea… We have waited long enough, ready to go? “ Asked Makoto with an eager smile, rolling up the map in his hand and handing it back to the team leader.

Miyako listened to everything Makato explained. She had already looked at the map and decided on the route she wanted. It seemed that Makoto chose to take the safe path, which was alright with her. "Well it seems it is settled then. We will take that path and stop for some food on the way there." She took the map back, and realized there must have been something going on between these two, especially with the way he kept looking at her. Don't tell me I'll have to keep my eye on these two... Airi, standing in front of her had seemed to take on a pink shade.

"I am sorry Makoto-san. I was unable to be of any help. I promise I'll do better next time." She looked up at Miyako wondering what was going through her mind. The last time another girl had come along, she was stripped naked in front of everyone. Of course, she was a bit strange, and Miyako had yet to show any of that type of personality. She looked back at Makoto, still slightly pink, "Do you think we'll run into any of those criminals along the way?" Miyako looked at the two of them. "Hopefully we'll be skirting away from them, but if anything gets out of hand, I'll be here. Don't be afraid to get your hands dirty." She said as they set off down the road. "Tell me a little about yourselves as we walk. I don't think I've ever met either of you."

Makoto smiled to Airi as she apologies for not seeming helpful at all, in reality there was nothing to apologies for. He could also tell that she was slightly pink still from the embarrassment; she had suffered at the hands of their late team member. He really didn’t mind as long as Airi was safe and happy, even now he still cared as he placed his hand on her shoulder. Nodding to her with a friendly smile, Makoto spoke to her respectfully and with a caring voice. “There is no need to apologies Airi. When the time comes, you will shine like a star. Also don’t worry about the bandits, I chose a path to ensure we stay away from them. “ spoke makoto as he looked forward at the team leader as she spoke, he was not afraid to get his hands dirty with bandits to be honest… he faced an A-Rank missing shinobi and survived.

Setting off down the road with Airi and the leader of the team, He listened as Miyako speak about talking about them. Makoto smiled to himself as he looked back at Airi, making sure she was okay before he made her any offers. Looking back over to Miyako, he spoke to her about himself. “ My name is Makoto Lung, I’m clanless and 12 years old. I’m training to be a shinobi swordsman, I have no desire to be a Kage… but I do desire to protect the people I love and care for the moment. “ Spoke makoto as he raised his hand to scratch the back of his neck, it was itching slight and after a few seconds it was gone. Dropping his hand down, he spoke again casually to Miyako. “ I’m not good at talking about myself, but I can adapt to any situations needed, just not talking my way out of things. “ spoke Makoto, his honesty would hopefully strengthen the team leader’s trust in him, He already had Airi’s trust and respected her as an equal.

Approaching the fork in the road with the group he was with, makoto could also see the restaurant a small distance off as well. But he was able to see that that place was not healthy, but it was a place where they could eat. Thinking about it for a moment, he had dry and preserved meat at well. But he was sure that one of the others wanted to eat, but if it was only one of them… his dried meat will help out greatly here. “ I’m sorry… but I ate this morning and I’m not hungry at all. “ Spoke Makoto being honest with himself, but he looked over to Airi and smiled to her softly. He spoke to her next to see if she was hungry as well. “What about you Airi? Are you hungry? We have two chooses here. “ Spoke Makoto with a smile, reminding her that he was carrying around the meat she liked so much.

Watching the group decide on their options, Makoto just waited calmly and with a smile as they made their way to the restaurant. The moment Miyako entered the place, makoto sighed heavily before he started to listen to Airi. Looking over to her for a moment, he reached into his backpack and pulled out a piece of jerky. The moment the name Iyou came into the conversation, makoto started to shiver with a cold chill. Iyou was good but she was… well, obsessed with him as a ‘toy’. Sadly Iyou died in the civil war from what he heard, but then again… what remained of his family had the same fate as well. If nothing else, he was the last child now. Sighing to her heavily, Makoto spoke to her respectfully. “Maybe we hit it off well as friends, but you know as well as I do that she was latched on to me both physically and… well…. sexually. But that was her doing threw the entire thing, I acted friendly so that I would stay neutral with her… but she watched more. You even heard her call me a ‘toy’, A word that creeped me out greatly… So my answer would be no, why do you ask Airi? “ spoke Makoto as he held up his hand to offer her the piece of fish jerky, it was rare but he got his hand on a piece before he left the village.
