The first encounter Wyld Card: -snickering as she crept about on a rafter of the shop's ceiling, the wannabe cat-burglar peered out from behind her mask, looking for something fun to get her little paws on. she settled in near a corner and looked about, fluffy tail twitching in excitement for the hunt. after a few minutes, as no one or nothing of interest was to be found, the tip of her tail flicked back and forth, back and forth. she gave a small, indignant huff and glowered as she pulled out her playing cards, shuffling them in that way she always does when irritated, eyes still peering about in hopes of finding her next 'victim'-Hayden Love: *heading into the empty shop to practice his guitar, he paused to set down Helena. After being dropped and bumped into walls, he found it strange that his instrument never seemed to scratch, but seeing as she didn’t, he never bothered to put her in a proper case like most. Besides, sometimes he had these spontaneous needs to play the guitar and he didn’t want to wrestle with locks or zippers to get to her. Assuming he was alone, he set her down in one of the comfy chairs and headed into the back to get coffee. He knew no one would try to take his precious anyway. He’d seen many people shy away from her menacingly tattooed body.* I’ll be right back. *he promised her as he turned the corner.*Wyld Card: -after what seemed to be forever, being the impatient one that she was, the sounds of someone stirring about in the shop caught her attention after she had figured out a way to play solitaire on her tedious-for-gaming perch. ears now standing straight up at attention, here eyes peered down and about the place, easily picking up another who wasn't hard to miss. not that her attention stayed on the fox very long as her eyes saw his little shiny -- the name by which she called most things that catch her thieving little eyes. eyes now menacingly aglow, she set her cards down and crouched, tail flicking to and fro as she watched and waited for something promising. and then there it was! the idiot set the pretty little guitar down. grinning an almost Cheshire cat-like grin as he set it down, made his little promise, and then left for the kitchen. now it was time to get herself a new little shiny toy~ hopping down, landing surprisingly light on her booted feet, she quickly crept right over to it- Well hello you pretty little thing. -her finger stroked along the neck over the wires, before reaching for the strap, and with that she slung it over her shoulder, and made a dash for outside. there wasn't the intention to leave just yet, as she wanted to see him fret, so she found her way up onto the roof of the shop and waited for him to come out- When you can't find your pretty inside, there's only one place to go after all~ -and with that, she brought the guitar around front in her lap and leaned back against a convenient arch on the roof, claws randomly plucking at the strings -- not that she knew how to play -- as she waited-Hayden Love: *hummed to himself as he poured the hot water and the warm caffeinated aroma filled the shop. He took the cup between his paws and carried it back into the other room where Helena...the cup slipped from his grasp sending glass and coffee flying across the room. He flew at the chair and began franticly looking about the room.* Where are you? *he gritted his teeth and was about to start turning the whole place upside-down when he slipped on something. He crashed to the ground with a groan and a growl until he spotted the object. It was a playing card, stuck to the bottom of his foot. He took the ace of hearts in his hand and glared at it, ears and tail twitching, before crushing it. This gave him a moment to think and he took a deep breath, uncurled his fingers, and smoothed out the card. Whoever was here must have left it, maybe on purpose. He glanced about before deciding that whoever took his Helena must have already left. He was about to get up and leave when his ears began burning.* Helena! *Someone was nearby playing her! He crashed through the front doors forgetting his mess on the floor and trained his angry red eyes on the figure that stood leisurely upon the roof. His teeth gnashed together and his blood was so hot his mind didn’t register that it was a young girl that swiped his guitar, nor did he hear the pretty tune she was unknowingly playing. The only love he knew from a female came from his guitar.* Give. Her. Back! *Claws extended, he lunged for the roof in one uncanny leap.*Wyld Card: -as she waited, the little cat-buglaress began playing around with the sounds coming from the guitar as she plucked the strings, finding it surprisingly amusing- I wish you came around sooner. -she mused, normally pretty bored and having nothing to amuse herself with. the sound of crashing in the shop, however, caught her attention. that wide, 'here's trouble' grin spreading over her face. not stirring from her place, she stayed put, knowing he'd be out very shortly. not even the loud sounds of him crashing through the front door phased her as she continued to pick at the strings, though her ears did perk as he shouted a name. snickering as he shouted, opening her mouth to make a remark, she jumped slightly as he leapt to try and get at her... or the guitar- 'Her'?~ Awww... Did I steal your lil girlfriend? I think she might be a cheater buddy. We've been having a good time together. -grinning, she stood up tail swaying behind her as she slung the guitar over her shoulder and around her back once more. she crouched down, smirking to him- You a good runner? 'cause you're gonna have to be fast to try to get your baby back. -she gave a wink as she stood back up. spinning about with a bounce, she made a dash to the other side of the roof and jumped down, making her run for it with a crazy little giggle-Hayden Love: *The moonlight glinted off the burlaress' mask and he finally looked up at her. He blinked in surprise and lost his grip on the roof, sliding back to the ground, and had to pause to regain his footing. A growl exploded through his teeth and his ears lay flat as she teased him about his relationship Helena. He froze as she mounted his guitar on her back at took off with a wink. A smile tugged at his lips, but he shook himself and landed his jump the second time, using his claws to pull himself up. Was he enjoying this? No, he couldn't be. He was just chasing down his stolen property. There was nothing fun about this. Biting his lip, he hurried after her giggle.* Laugh while you still can! *He made it to the other end of the roof to see her disappearing around a corner. He took a deep breath and launched himself at the ground, rolling on impact to keep from hurting himself. He had to admit that she was pretty fast, but he knew he had to find a way to keep up, or risk losing Helena.* What's your game? *he called, hoping she'd answer so he could pinpoint her location.* Why didn't you just leave when you took her?Wyld Card: -more than amused at both his shock of that realization that she had seen a few times before him, she snickered in a hissing way as he fell from his grab on the roof. and his reaction to her talking about his guitar? priceless~ that is until he managed to jump and keep a hold on the roof again. she wasted no time hightailin' it outa there as he was chasing her down to get '... Helena was it?' back, the thought of someone naming a guitar making her laugh to herself. turning herself around, running backwards for a moment just to mess with him, snickering and giggling in her amusement- Always laughing.. never not~ -she teased, then turned about once more and made a mad dash for the tree line and her hide-out that was in there. however, as she made her way into the wooded area, his call out to her made her slow, but as to not get caught too easily for taking the chance to reply, she jumped up onto a branch, climbing higher to be out of reach as she shouted back- Everything's a game, and everyone are players in it! And what would be the fun of me leaving if I didn't get to see your face before I made off with your poorly guarded treasure?~ -with that, she leapt to another tree across the way that didn't have any useful lower branches, crouching and tail twitching as she waited to see what he'd do next-Hayden Love: *He scrambled head over heels after her.* Yeah? Well, I'm always scowling. *He wasn't sure if she heard that, but he didn't really care. He knew where she was now. Her comment about everything being a game almost brought him to a stop. He always thought of everything as a competition. Every second, someone was judging you and waiting to shoot you down just as you're about to be truly happy.* He frowned and skidded to a stop underneath the tree she had monkeyed her way up. He was impressed by her graceful leap and considered applauding, but that would probably only encourage her to run further away. Instead he shook himself off and started making a show of stretching his arms and swinging them around, as if he were preparing to climb up the tree with limbs and jump after her. Judging from her stance she wasn't about to dash off. She wanted to see him fail, just like everyone else. The knot in his stomach tightened and he grimaced in pain. Exhaling loudly he took a deep breath and turned instead to the tree she was currently in. Launching himself as high as he could and digging his claws deep into the bark, he started climbing. He wasn't a strong jumper, but thanks to years and years of playing the guitar his upper body strength was a different story.*Wyld Card: -her ears flickered, picking up his little shouted blurp, but she didn't care to remark on it... for now anyways. as he found himself below her tree perch, her tail swayed back and forth, back and forth behind her, just grinning down at him. she was more than happy to have found someone who played right along with her little game, then again most were so predictable in that way. snickering as she watched him stretch, which wasn't a terrible sight really, she began wondering just what he was up to. of course, she was pleasantly surprised as he began climbing the tree. he was playing her game and she couldn't have been more thrilled, but not without wondering how far he'd actually go to get his precious lil guitar back- Ooooooh~ Look at the big man trying to rescue his damsel~ -she stayed in her spot for a few moments as he climbed higher, tail twitching as she bade her time. unable to resist, she taunted him some- Ooo ooo ee ah, monkey, monkey! -snickering, amused with herself, she rose to her feet once more, nearly dancing along the branch until she got far enough along it to where it was making her wobble. eyeing the next tree over, the cat-burglaress crouched, giving a wiggle of her aft end, before jumping across the way, easily landing her jump and spun around to look at him once more- If you can catch me... I may just give you your precious lil toy back~ But you'll have to give it some gusto, grumpy a**~Hayden Love: *He started to climb faster as she called Helena a 'damsel'. Those kind of things don't exist in the real world. He tasted blood when she began dancing about making monkey sounds. He had to blink the water from his eyes to watch her jump. As soon as she'd landed he started coughing. He prayed she didn't realize he was hiding a fit of laughter. That was adorable... He swallowed the coppery taste, he wished he'd been able to think of another way to stop himself from grinning at her. Giving himself a shake he climbed up onto the branch she once stood on and glared at her. Grumpy a**? How dare she? He tried to think of a retort, but couldn't come up with one. She'd nailed him and that ticked him off.* Don't get too comfortable wearing my guitar then! *He edged out onto the branch and prepared to jump. It creaked and bent slightly under his weight. He wasn't as small or light as...well, he didn't know her name, but as soon as he got Helena back he would find out. Trying to avoid looking down he crouched down and jumped. His heart shot into his throat the moment his feet left the branch. He wasn't going to make it. Panicking, he reached out, and tried to dig his claws into the tree branch she stood on, but only managed to sever the tip off it with his sharp claws. This is gonna hurt, was his only thought as gravity seemed determined to make a fool of him.Wyld Card: -as she enjoyed taunting him, behind her mask she could easily see that on some level he was finding her amusing as she peered at him from her new perch... that only fueled her all the more. He was making this all too fun for her after all~ musing as her words seemed to stump him some, maybe even irked him a bit, she continued to smirk, bright blue eyes dancing behind their covering. the sound of his promising threat made her giggle joyously, nearly beginning to dance about the branch once again, quite graceful even in her boots. giving a small pout, she protested a bit- Awww... And here I thought I was hitting it off with your little lady so well~ -an unseen glint was sparkling in her eyes as she watched him inch out on the branch, curious as to if he could actually make it... he didn't seem to have a very easy time with obstacles thus far. nibbling on her lip in an almost anticipation, she watched him intensely as he jumped, and automatically knew he wouldn't make it. physical pain wasn't her thing and she certainly didn't enjoy the thought of seeing him get hurt. without a second thought she grabbed the branch tightly, claws digging in, and reached out, snagging his paw with hers, lurching and grunting at the pull of his weight on her body- Ung... Seems you're more the damsel, than your guitar... -her face twisted some as she struggled to hold onto him, strength not being... well.. a strength of hers. agility more what she was built for. grunting again, grip tightening to keep her hold on him, she hissed out s she shifted on her feet, her fingers hurting as her claws continued to dig into the branch- Are you.. urrrmf.. gonna make me do all the work here, damsel? If that's the case, you're gonna be meeting the ground real soon. If you were... a fish, I think I'd get... ermmm... quite the trophyHayden Love: *All he could think to do was close his eyes and brace for impact. It didn't come. He looked up at the thief. The branch creaked in anger at their combined weight, his more than her's.* Thanks... *His face heated up, they were pretty close now. The heat of her breath heated his nose. He caught a glimpse of the hidden beauty of her eyes behind her mask and almost couldn't look away.* Oh, right. *He carefully pulled himself up enough so he could climb up onto the branch with her. He had a bit of trouble getting himself all the way up, but managed to get to his feet. He sighed with relief, then realized he was still holding her hand.* Erm... *He let go and scratched the back of his neck awkwardly.* Um, so...can I have my guitar back?Wyld Card: -biting down on her bottom lip as it was becoming really difficult to hold onto him anymore, she sighed a sigh of relief as he made his way onto the branch, inching back bit by bit so the end of the branch wouldn't break off completely... almost nervously backing away to safety in a way as she was puzzled by his staring. letting go of her hold on him as he pulled his back as well, her paws slid over the material of her clothing, smoothing it out some, before giving him her trademark grin of mischief- Next time I might have to let you fall on your a**. I have a rep to hold up, and I can't be rescuing damsels all the time -almost scoffing a he asked for the guitar back, she leaned back against the trunk of the tree carefully. she surely didn't want to damage such a pretty guitar after all. that nearly Cheshire like grin plastered all over her face now as she pondered her words for a moment- Nope. I said you had to catch me... not the other way around. -her eyes twinkled behind her mask again. she didn't have plans to run off again, but she sure wasn't going to make this easy on him. troublemaker? yes. completely cruel? no- Thoooooooough.... -a dragged out word as she began to ponder again- If you think you can make it worth my while to give up... such a steal... I might consider giving it back -tilting her head up, she stroked at her chin in such a thoughtful way, but the mischievousness never leaving her face as she wondered how he'd react-Hayden Love: *relaxing slightly, he gave her a cocky grin* I promise I won’t tell anyone. *His smile faded as she gave him a look, a very mischievous look. He gave a nervous laugh and rubbed his arm, extremely self-conscious. * You’re not going to let that go are you? *His ears perked. He could talk her into giving Helena back, but how? She obviously thought he couldn’t convince her, judging by the look on her face. His palms started sweating, what could he promise her? Maybe he could take her out for coffee? No, she didn’t strike him as the type who sat around. A concert? Maybe, but he’d have to ask her what her favorite band was, and even then, they might not come around for a while. He watched her carefully, just in case she decided she’d rather keep his guitar. He tried to stay still, but he was used to pacing when he thought, but in this situation, it was a really bad idea. Plus, she’d probably just tease him about it.* Did you have something in mind? *Usually when someone wants to barter, they already have an idea in their heads. He just hoped whatever she wanted was within his abilities to give her.*Wyld Card: Good! -scoffing once again, her skin prickling with a hint of annoyance as she realized that she may have just cause herself more troubles by saving him from his fall. she enjoyed a hint of gratification as he seemed unnerved by her oh-so-troublesome expression, pleased that she could unarm him with it. with a snicker, she slowly shook her head side to side, blazing blue eyes never moving from him- Oh no.. I sure as hell am not. -then began his thinking as she offered a chance for him to get his little girlfriend back. she could almost see the gears turning and grinding in his head, a brow quirking, curious as to what he was thinking exactly. rolling her eyes and sighing as she began to get impatient with him as he lost himself in thought, shifting in her boots on the branch. his question grabbed her attention once again, and she crossed her arms across her chest, shrugging- Not like I know what you can do... aside from falling. You don't think of something soon... -smirking, she reached back, bringing the guitar in front of her, fingertips stroking along the guitar's body- I may decide I want to date the little lady myself. -her fingers played over the strings, debating on what she would do next, knowing he wouldn't do anything to risk his precious instrument's well-being... which was a weird thought to her as it was just some silly, shiny, inanimate object-Hayden Love: *He started drumming his fingers on his arm. He had to think of something. Something she couldn't say no to...* What if...? *No, he couldn't play for her. He remembered all too well how his public performances had turned out. The first one was ruined by his jealous older brother and the second...his eyes darkened. He could only too easily recall the tone of the man's voice as he shouted and bombarded him with tomato's. But, if he offered to play for her, she would have to give him the guitar. He ran a hand through his hair and exhaled loudly. Even if she didn't like his playing, at least he would get Helena back. That was good enough, right? He watched her fingers dance playfully across Helena's body and soul (what he called her strings). He knew she must understand what Helena meant to him, though he didn't dare tell her why. He took a deep breath and decided it was his only option.* What if I played Helena for you? *He knew he was taking a real emotional risk. For some reason, he really wanted this thief to like him (especially since no one else seemed to) and he knew that if she shot him down he'd end up shut up in his room for months. His family would try to figure out what was wrong, but he'd never tell. His wounds always seemed to lay open and it was getting harder and harder to heal them. I'm doing this for you. As he thought about it, he began to wonder if he was doing this for her, Helena. Or her...* What's your name? If you don't mind me asking...Wyld Card: -this male never ceased to amuse her so. the way those fingers drummed as he pondered, to the way that he seemed to struggle with something that would be a fair trade for his obviously prized possession. he certainly had her curious as his expressions varied with his thoughts, but she just went back to taunting him as she plucked at the strings of his guitar. nearly losing herself in the sounds coming from it, she almost missed that sigh of his, ears perking straight up and her eyes slowly rose to peer at him. quirking a brow up behind her mask at his offered bargaining chip, her gaze lowered back to the guitar again- Now that's an interesting offer... -not saying 'yes' and not saying 'no' just yet, her fingers continued to play at the strings- Hmmmm... And how do I know you're not gonna just run off? That's my job in this after all... -eyes glinting with mischief still as they turned back up to him again, she purred softly, holding the guitar closer and in a tighter grip. his asking for her name made her snicker- I suppose I could tell you... -the want to keep a hold of the guitar was there. not wanting to give it up as she stole it fair and square, but... she could always mess with him later. smirking, she pulled the strap up over her head, shifting back against the tree, holding his guitar out to him- Wyld Card. I just go by Wyld. -grinning to him, she wondering how he'd react- I know your little girlfriend's name and you know mine... so I guess it's your turn -her tail flicked behind her as she crossed her arms over her chest, watching and waiting-Hayden Love: *He remained ridged as he waited for a definite answer. He took shallow breaths and she took her time, pondering her responce.* I promise. I swear on my life and my honor. *He bit his tongue, hoping he didn't go to far. When she relaxed and handed back Helena, he almost didn't take her.* Wyld Card...it certainly fits you well. *He gently took his guitar and fitted her across his chest. She was still warm from sitting against Wyld for so long.* Hayden. Hayden Love. *He'd been teased about his last name a few times, but he wasn't worried about that. His name was what he was called, it wasn't who he was. He began picking out a tune, quietly with his claws. It was the same one he always played when he was nervous, the Jeopardy theme song.* So, do you want for me to play for you on the ground? or up here? Also, do you have any favorite songs you'd like to hear? or...? *He shifted nervously from foot to foot. Maybe she'd like it better if he played something she liked...or maybe she'd judge it even harsher since she liked the song. Despite the cool weather, the back of his neck was starting to sweat.*Wyld Card: -oh how she wanted nothing more to roll his eyes at that line as she held out his guitar to him. who used wording like that anymore? all the same, as he took it back carefully, she smirked at his remark on her name- The only thing I have of my father, really... Well a hint of him is in my style too, but not much. -she shrugged that off, not even sure why she bothered saying that. shaking her head at herself, her ears perked as he said his name, grinning that Cheshire grin- I see what your parents did there. -unable to help herself, she gave a light and amused laugh- Well Hayden... I don't really know what I want to hear, and given your record with gravity, I think a floor show would be better... -the paw that had held to the tree as she saved him from his fall, crossed over and rested on the shoulder opposite it, rotating and flexing her arm- I don't think I could handle having to save you again. -with a grin, she moved herself out on the branch slightly, close to him, yet not, giving herself space. holding up her arms, she peered over to him, eyes glistening, then she leaned back, letting gravity take her. Twisting her body in midair, she landed on her feet easily with a soft and grass muffled 'thud'. she clapped her paws together in front of herself, then grinned up at Hayden- I'd advise coming down a tree trunk for you... I sure as hell don't feel like getting squished. -she teased, arms crossing over her chest once again as she waited-Hayden Love: *He cocked his head when she spoke of her father. It was the first time she'd seemed...he couldn't think of the right word, but for most of their time together, he'd seen nothing but genuine smiles. It was strange, even though he'd gotten Helena back, he didn't want to leave Wyld. He blinked at her, slightly confused. What did she mean by, 'I saw what your parents did there.'? Did Echo and Lupus do something sneaky when they named him? He nodded when she agreed that he should perform on the ground. He was about to ask how they should get down, when she fell off the tree branch. He almost made a grab for her, but remembered that she had caught him accidentally falling, she meant to fall. He sighed as he watched her land perfectly, half out of jealousy of her gracefulness, half out of adoration of how cute she looked. Shaking himself to clear his head, he prepared to climb down.* Oh! Hate and love! I get it! *He blushed as he thought of how stupid he must have sounded, not knowing the meaning of his own name. He dried his palms and hurried down the tree. Half way, one of the smaller branches snapped and he ended up sliding the down the rest of the way. He looked up to find his claws had left deep groves in the poor tree. Biting his lip, he turned to face her.* I meant to do that...Wyld Card: -not bothering to give a second thought to either of her parents after her little... unpleasant reminder of them, she found her contentment in poking at him teasingly, noting his confusion- You're a little slow there, huh? -she snuck in a wink to him before she let gravity do her work for her, beaming and cocky as her eyes rose to meet his once again. she had seen him almost try to 'save' her from plummeting to the ground. the way he looked at her now made her grin widen as she kept her arms crossed in front of herself. taking a couple steps back, her eyes stayed trained on him as he got ready to start his climb down. his sudden realization made her just burst out into a fit of laughter, no holding back. It wasn't that funny, but at the same time it very much was. oh it was almost painful as tears welled up at the corners of her eyes and her arms moved down to wrap around her stomach. why she was laughing so hard was beyond her, but as she thought she was safe from her laughing fit, she saw his oops as he made his way down the tree, and it started all over again- Ahhahahahahaha! I'm sure... you... did! Oh! Ouch! My sides! They hurt! -even though she was laughing at him, it wasn't in a cruel way, just amused... well beyond amused with him- Oh damn, Hayden... You kill me...Hayden Love: *A frown curved at his lips. Now she thought he was not only an idiot, but also a klutz. Way to go, Hayden. He blushed slightly as she started having 'laughter pains.'* Glad I could provide you with such amusement. *He mumbled and stared at the ground. She had a cute laugh. It seemed to echo and fill the empty silence with a sound that could only be associated with joy and happiness. He had to spare a smile, purely to allow himself a moment to revel in her amusement along with her. His smile slowly faded, but her laughter continued. He wondered when the last time she'd had a good laugh was. Normal people didn't laugh this much...did they? Maybe it was just him, with all his pent up 'hate' was the one who didn't laugh enough. He didn't see a reason to laugh right now, a few moments ago he almost fell to his death. If it weren't for his claws...he shook his head. His tail flicked playfully, giving away his amusement, but the rest of his body remained mostly ridged.* Yeah, since you're so busy...we'll just schedule my performance for a later date I guess... *He turned away with a twitch of his ear and started to slowly walk away. Part of him hoped she'd let him go, but the other part wished she'd notice his not-so-subtle attempt to slip away.*Wyld Card: -oh how her sides were hurting as tears began streaming down her cheeks as she laughed. even with her father being who he was, she didn't think she could even find anything so amusing. the way he mumbled grumpily was making it even harder to stop, but then there was the sudden threat of him leaving as he turned to walk away, and everything just seemed to stop right there. she didn't want him to leave! and not even because he owed her a song, but because she was pretty damn lonely almost all the time and for once she had someone to get a good laugh from and... well... true he was only around because she stole his guitar, but she had enjoyed his company. in an almost panic, she moved in front of him, unsure how to express herself, but any an all traces of her joys at his almost unfortunate situation and her laughing fit were gone, only the tear-stained cheeks remained- "No! Please don't go!" It sounded much more desperate than she meant it, but she meant it that she didn't want him to go. In an attempt to make it look like it wasn't that she cared or wasn't a lonely, pathetic thief, her ears pinned back and she summoned up a growl -- which was quite difficult to do, actually- I'll steal her again! It wouldn't be that hard for me to do! You owe me a song! You can't just leave like that! Even a thief has more honor! -and each thing she said did, in fact, sound laced with her desperation... and she hated herself for it. giving another growl, this one easier to come because of the irritation at the thought of his leaving her alone now, her tail whipped behind herself as she glared at him behind the mask, eyes still stinging. never before was she more grateful for the damn thing than she was now. at least he couldn't see how much this was truly affecting her, along with more tears that threatened her by stinging at her eyes, aside what her mouth gave away, which for the moment... was anger-Hayden Love: *For a second, he was pleased that he had made her stop laughing, but the moment she leapt in front of him and forced him to stay still a sudden wave of guilt crushed him. He knew the streaks of tears on her face were form the laughter, but he couldn't help but confuse them with the desperate look in her face. A knot formed in his stomach as she stared up at him and begged him not to go. Any part of him that wanted to take Helena and leave was dead and gone. He was rooted to the spot, staring down at her with a slightly surprised look as she tried to hide her emotions with anger...the same way he did. It only made it worse. No matter how hard she tried, he knew that face. He'd been seeing it every single time he looked in the mirror. He was so deep in thought, he jumped back a bit when she growled at him. Tightening his grip on Helena he instinctually growled back. Shaking himself, he tried to fix the situation.* Sorry, I didn't mean it...I... *What could he say? He wanted to admit that he knew how she felt, but couldn't seem to get the words out of his mouth.* Why don't you sit down, and I'll play for you. If you like it, I can play more than one. *He really wanted to make her feel better, but didn't know how. His social skills were poor so he was very unsure how best to react.*Wyld Card: -as she stood there, barricading him from leaving, she almost instantly regretted it. She felt like a fool, an idiot, and even worse... vulnerable. all these feelings washing over her at once was completely overwhelming and she nearly broke down and cried as he looked at her. inwardly, she cursed her sudden spring that barred him from leaving, but outwardly she kept up the anger that was her shield for the moment. ... of course she wondered how long she had before he managed to disarm her of that. snarling to herself, though making it look pointed at him, she shook her head and sighed. her entire body slumped to the ground as if on cue as he spoke to her of sitting so he could play a song for her. she'd never admit that she liked the sound of more than one song. now that her crisis of being abandoned was over, she tried to come back from her crazy, whirlwind of unusual emotions -- that rather made her scared of herself, as she didn't think she had it in her to feel like that, let alone made to cry so easily. damn this guy. doing her best to throw him off her already known scent, her body slowly moved to hunkering down, arms crossed over her chest, glowering at him from behind her mask to come off as pissed that he would even think of leaving even though he was the one that owed her something, tail twitching behind her to reflect her irritated mood... not that it was at him, but she'd welcome the added bonus if he thought it was. just as she was sure she was settled in for her show, she grinned again -- and boy did it feel good to grin -- and quickly stood to her feet. in a moment she was in front of the offending tree that he clawed his way down, plunking herself before it, still grinning- Okay... now you can play... -leaning back against the tree, she crossed her arms across her chest once more, waiting for her song and her show-Hayden Love: *He watched her collapse to the ground. Now he was even more unsure of what to do. Should he help her? or would that just make her even more upset? His ears and tail twitched nervously as he hovered over Wyld. He merely stared back as she glared at him. Did I do something wrong? He picked the bark out from under his claws and tried to avoid looking directly at her. Either her eyes were burning a hole in his face, or he was blushing. Must be the first one, he thought to himself. He blinked, surprised, when she suddenly grinned and moved to sit more comfortably against the tree he ‘fell’ out of.* Right, okay. *His hand raced up and down Helena’s neck as he tried to think of a good song. Something inside him said, don’t think, and suddenly he was playing. He didn't have an amp, so Coldplay’s song ‘Paradise’ was quieter than he was used to, but the first part transitioned to the guitar very well. Despite Helena’s wicked appearance, she expressed her kinder, softer side beautifully. His heart rate accelerated as he took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and started to sing. He kept his eyes closed throughout the entire song, immersing himself in the music. It felt amazing to be playing outside. The soft breeze lifted the hair from his face and helped him to relax. As soon as his fingers traced the last of the melody and he exhaled the last notes, he opened his eyes and waited for Wyld’s reaction.*Wyld Card: As she settled in against the trunk of the tree, she felt much better. It felt like a... safe place for her. Like he wouldn't dare getting too close to the tree considering his close call. Her face slowly fell into a more neutral expression as she waited for him to start playing, ears flicking as she wondered what kind of music he'd play. The soft sounds of the notes on his guitar caught her attention, ears swiveling forward. She hadn't known what to expect, but shockingly enough, somehow, she found herself really enjoying the sound. Her body shifted, leaning forward and crossing her legs under herself, arms over her legs and propping herself up on them. Though she couldn't tell, her face began to almost show a hint of wonder as he began singing, tail flopping in a lazy wag of sorts beside herself. Her eyes were nearly dancing with awe behind her mask as she got lost in the sounds of his song, his voice making the fur on the back of her neck prickle up and stand on end, a shiver shooting her spine. as the melody began to wind down, the last of the soft notes being played, she was all smiles unbeknownst to her. As his eyes looked to her, it was only then that she noticed she was grinning like a fool. She coughed, clearing her throat and looking away for a moment before looking back to him. It seemed pretty pointless to try and lie about the obvious. "That was pretty damn awesome. Didn't know what to expect, but I think it was a fair trade." She smirked and leaned back against the tree again for a moment before pushing herself up. Her paws slipped back and ran along the tails of her jacket before smoothing over her shirt. Looking up to him, she grinned once more. "Watch yourself... I may come back for her again." Smirking still, she gave a playful wink, then turned away. She took a couple bouncing steps, then ran off, both still grinning like mad and confused as hellHayden Love: The first thing he noticed was her smile. He couldn't help but grin back at her. She liked it! His chest swelled and he felt like he might explode from happiness. It was the first time someone, besides his family, had expressed that they enjoyed his playing. His tail flicked happily behind him and bounced slightly on his toes. "I'm very glad you enjoyed it!" He watched her adjust her clothes before taking off with a...threat? or a promise? "I'll look forward to it..." He whispered after her, longing to follow her deeper into the woods. He stood there, unmoving, long after she'd disappear from sight. Finally, he sighed and decided it would be best to go home. Wyld's warmth seemed to abandon Helena as he turned away, leaving her cold against his back. His mood seemed to worsen as he got further and further away from where they'd met. What if he never saw her again? For some reason, he found this funny. The thought that the first person that made him feel alive might never give him that joy again. Irony was a b****. Looking down at his wrist, he saw red marks from where Wyld's fingers grasped him to keep him from falling from the tree. Her laughter still echoed in his mind and he felt a small sad smile tug at his lips. Maybe he would see her again...

'What's a girl like you doing in a place like this?' And so they meet again Hayden Love: It had been a few weeks since his night with Wyld Card. His dreams always seemed to end with her laughter and he woke with his wrist burning right where she'd caught him. He felt as though he was in an emotional rut. He went to bed happily chasing her in his dreams, but woke up feeling lonely. Everything else about his life now seemed as boring as the white walls that surrounded him now. He could no longer stand to be inside for more than an hour. After running through the night with the wind in his hair, he understood why his dad, Lupus, loved it so much. But even more than that was the company he shared that night with. He longed to hear Wyld's laughing and taunting voice teasing him from just out of reach. No person's company could satisfy him. They either laughed too much, or not enough. They were either too quiet, or too loud. He tore the sheets off his bed and headed out into the chilly morning air. He'd also become terrible company himself. No one wanted him around anymore, they said he was 'too depressing.' Sighing, he kicked the curb as he crossed the street and headed to the little shop where it all started. Standing there, he began to feel angry. This was all her fault! If she had just left Helena alone they would have never met and he would have never known what it was like to be happy. If she'd never shown him what it was like to be happy, he wouldn't feel so darn miserable right now. He huffed as his pulse began to race. Suddenly a hand grabbed his shoulder and he let all his anger and frustration out with one clean blow to the person's face. The cop cried out and almost fell over. "Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry!" He helped the cop up, who waved him off and explained he was merely returning something Hayden had dropped. "Oh, that's very kind of you. Thanks!" He wasn't really paying attention and just shoved the item back in his pocket. Turning back to the shop, the cop said something that made his gut squeeze painfully. He'd recognized Hayden from his second performance. 'The kid who messed up and ended up covered in tomatoes.' His ears and tail twitched in annoyance. Apparently all his feelings hadn't been expressed in that one punch. Forgetting himself, he turned and attacked the cop with not a single regret. He didn't regain consciousness until he was against the cold floor of a jail cell with his hands handcuffed behind him. His face felt funny and swollen, but he didn't care. The ground felt good against his bruised cheek and his mind couldn't help but go back to the moment when Wyld saved him. He'd probably be in a hospital if it wasn't for her. All his resentment toward her was gone now, leaving only a hard empty space that desperately needed to be filled. He rolled over and opened his eyes. Blinking hard, he tried to focus on the figure sitting across from him. It couldn't be..."Wyld?"Wyld Card: having had been a clumsy, weird mess since her encounter with ‘that guy’ as she termed him, refusing to say his name for her own reasons, the little cat burglaress had managed to get herself in quite a bit of trouble. Well... more trouble than usual as she managed to get herself caught during a silly slip up while trying to steal a guitar for herself. So now, she was stuck in a small lock up, awaiting finding out what was going to happen with her. luckily enough, it seemed there was some commotion, providing a temporary bit of amusement during her far too quiet stay. she leaned herself against the wall of the cell, smirking as she saw the officers dragging someone in. As soon as she caught a good look, she felt pretty baffled, thinking she was seeing things. But sure enough, the body was left to fall on the floor, and there he was. Mister clouding her brain for what seems like ages. She gave a scoff, smirking to the officer who was obviously sore in both face and pride. “Nice shiner, bud.” She taunted. And with that, she settled into her spot on her bunk, waiting and watching, arms folded across her chest once more. As it was taking longer and longer for him to come too, she had dozed off in a light slumber, until she heard her name being spoken. That trademark grin crept over her face, and yet her eyes stayed closed, playing a cool customer, planning to do her best in playing off not remembering him... just yet anyway. “That’s my name... don’t wear it out, bucko.”Hayden Love: Still blinking the one eye that wasn't beginning to swell up, he struggled to get upright. This was impossible to do without his hands. Pausing a moment to catch his breath and think, he started forcing his feet through his retrained hands and managed to sit up. He grinned foolishly at her, "I still can’t believe it’s you…" Bucko? What kind of name was that? His smile disappeared as if she’d slapped it off his face. What if…what if she didn't remember him? His heart plummeted. It hadn't been that long since they’d last met, but what if she’d run into someone else during they time they’d been apart, someone better and more fun than him? That wouldn't be hard to do… He thought miserably to himself. What if she didn't like him? He suddenly wished he hadn't punched that cop. His face turned red and he slouched wishing he could melt into the floor, or somehow get into another cell. He couldn't stand the thought of having to explain to Wyld that she was the best person he’d ever met, only to have have her not even remember him. He nervously chewed on his swollen lip, making it bleed again.Wyld Card: It was almost painfully amusing to watch him try to sit up, struggling with his cuffs. She winced, rubbing her wrists from the thoughts of having them on earlier herself. And yet, she couldn't help but smirk at the fact he ended up in the slammer with her. How funny. It was his fault she ended up in here in the first place. Distracting her in her thoughts and such. Stupid guy! As she was thinking these little raging moments, her expression was following suit. Oh she remembered him all right, but because of thinking about him, she got busted while slipping up during a break in, trying to get herself back in her way of being ’But nooooooooooooooooo... he just couldn't leave me alone!’ she yelled at him in her head. After a couple minutes of this inward raging, followed by crazy faces, she finally realized what she was doing. She coughed to clear her throat, shifting herself and pushing off the bed she was sitting on. Giving a wide grin, she was quite curious as to how he landed himself in the slammer with her. “Sooooo.... Whatcha do to get yourself chucked in here, huh? You don’t really look like a lot of trouble.” Smirking, she plunked on the floor beside him, crossing her arms behind her head and leaned back against the wall. She gave a yawn and closed her eyes, waiting for him to start talking. It would be like a sweet justice to hear about how he got stuck in here too, after ending up in here because of him. She blamed him and was completely content to do so. Made it much easier, in a roundabout way, to escape the fact that she messed up and got caught because she had been thinking about him.Hayden Love: He licked the blood from his mouth and winced at the taste. When he looked up, Wyld's face was changing every few seconds. He found it a bit hypnotizing to watch and couldn't help but wonder what was going on in her head. He was about to speak up and ask when she suddenly rose and planted herself next to him. Blush crept to his cheeks and he frowned slightly as she seemed to be refusing to look at him. He tried to cross his arms across his chest, but the handcuffs yanked painfully at his wrists. He huffed becoming angry again. "If you must know, I beat up a cop. I clobbered an innocent guy because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time and said the wrong thing." He ground his teeth as his dazed mind brought back distorted images. "It wasn't even my fault! I was standing in front of The Lucky Noodle and he said I dropped this!" Too frustrated to try and get his cuffed hands in his pocket, he tore it open with his claws and threw the crumpled playing card at her. It was the same one he picked up the night they met. at the time he had unconsciously put it in his pocket and had been carrying it around ever since. "Go ahead! Laugh at me." His eyes were starting to water and he had to look away so she couldn't see how frustrated he had become.Wyld Card: She waited there, paws behind her head, eyes closed, wanting her story. As such, she couldn't see the affect her not looking at him was having on him, and that he was becoming angry. The sound of his huffing made her crack an eye open, peering at him out of the corner of it, brow cocked as he became more and more upset. His confession of how he got himself locked up was pretty impressive to her in all honesty, and caused her to grin at him. She opened her mouth to sing his praises... in her own little way... but then he got even more angry, shocking her some as he ripped one of her playing cards out of his pants pocket, the surprise reflecting in her face. “Hey! I was wondering where that thing went!... You had it all this time?...” Her body shifted on the floor, moving to her knees and she turned to face him, her face scrunched a bit. “And people call me the thief...:” she mumbled quietly as she reached down to grab up the card. She had wondered where it went to, it being part of her favorite deck.... that she ended up ripping to pieces in a small fit of rage when she found it to not be a complete deck. Flipping it between her fingers, she smirked then held it back out to him. “You can keep it, Hayden... I destroyed my deck. A deck is pretty useless unless all the card are there.” She gave him that big ol Cheshire cat-like grin after she spoke, hoping that he’d realize that she did, in fact, remember him. “Calm your tits. Sheesh. And I thought my dad was an angry character...” Her boots were making this particular way of sitting awkward and a bit uncomfortable, so she moved to sitting Indian style, slouching and resting her arms over the length of her thighs. “So... yah missed me that much, huh?” smirking as she teased him... just a littleHayden Love: He frowned at her as she scolded him for taking one of her cards. It wasn't his fault. He'd just happened to put it in his pocket as he chased after her. He was about to start trying to explain himself when she examined it and handed the card back to him. Blinking in surprise, he took it and a fit of sudden happiness threatened to take over. She does remember me! He chewed on his tongue and tried to keep his cool. "I'm not angry..." He blushed at her warm happy grin. He loved that smile. Even though he couldn't see them behind her mask, he knew her smile had to make her eyes sparkle. He gave a half-nervous, half-overjoyed laugh as his face turned even redder. Coughing to try and hide it, he shrugged. "Yeah, I guess I haven't really been myself lately." That was an understatement. He'd been grumpy and antisocial before he'd met Wyld. Afterwards, he'd become depressed, grumpy, and even more antisocial. No one seemed to bring out his good side like she could. He glanced around the small cell. "So, what about you? What brought you here?" He hoped she wouldn't be in for too long. Maybe they could go someplace for lunch, or maybe they could go back to his place and he could play Helena for her. He didn't even really care what they did, as long as it was something that would make Wyld smile.Wyld Card: She watched his reactions, finding them so amusing. From him trying not to flip out, to getting excited over getting the silly card back... or maybe it was her acknowledging that she remembered him and his name finally. “Oh... You sure about that, mister punch a police officer’s lights out?” she taunted. His laughing, complete fail cover-up cough made her snicker, but his little confession made him frown. “Is it that time of the month, buddy?” She gave a nod and a most knowing look on her face, of course she was just screwing with him like she always did with anyone. She gave a shrug, looking off to the side and out the bars. The reason she landed a place in the cell? She was off her game while trying to steal something because she had been distracted while thinking about him. Of course that isn't something she wanted to tell him.... at all. “I was just off my game and got caught is all.” She gave a shrug, peering back at him out of the corner of her eye.Hayden: He felt like melting into a happy puddle at Wyld's feet, but did his best to contain himself. Pull yourself together! He sat up a little straighter and cocked his head, "What do you mean by 'that time of the month'? I haven't looked at a calendar in...well, I don't know how long it's been, but it's been a while!" He frowned and tried to remember the last time he took the time to brush his hair. Oh, goddess! What if he looked like a disheveled mess? She'd think he lived in a cave and didn't know how to take care of himself. He resisted the urge to run his claws through his hair and tried to shake the thought from his head. He looked up and caught her glancing his way. His eyes skirted the cell nervously before pinning her down at her words. "You? Off your game? How? You're amazing!" He bit his tongue and quickly looked away. He didn't mean to quiz her, but his curiosity got the best of him. He tugged at his handcuffs and hoped she wasn't mad at him.Wyld Card: She cocked a brow at his reply to her joke. Wow! This guy is so clueless... I don’t know whether to smack him for it or laugh and find it... no... no no. Don’t even go there! she scolded herself in her head, her facial expressions obviously betraying her thoughts to an extent. Luckily for her, she noticed he was busy freaking out in his head again, rolling her eyes at him quite dramatically, before narrowing them on him. “Tch... You are all sorts of weird and crazy, you know that? And that’s sayin’ something considering my parents.” Pursing her lips, her arms crossed over her chest, and she shook her head. Was it the fact that they were actually trapped together after him being on her mind and taunting her that was making her begin to feel temperamental somewhat? Maybe it was him acting like a lovesick puppy dog that was saying crazy s**t? Or it could have been that she was feeling.... No, no no no! she scolded herself again, growling at him. “Oh shut it! You don’t know jack about me! All you know is I’m a thief, that I couldn't let you fall, and that you somehow managed to wriggle under my skin!” she snapped. Pushing him away is better... right? Her eyes averting from him, looking off... anywhere but at him.Hayden Love: For a second, he thought it was safe, but when he looked up...His back hit the bars hard as he backed away from her wrath. He watched her, wide eyed, and only dared to relax when she looked away. I got under her skin? But, I'm nobody...why would she like me? He felt bad. It was obviously his fault that she was now locked up, but it was also her fault that he was locked up, too. Or maybe she doesn't like me, and I'm just to too stupid to see it. He wanted to ask her, but was afraid of what the answer might be. Maybe I could see my answer... He leaned to the side and tried to get a look at her eyes, but she refused to make eye contact with him. She must hate me, he frowned and began nervously picking the lock with his claws. "I've never told anyone this before, but this isn't my first time behind bars." There was a click and one of his wrists were freed. He rotated it a few times before working on the other. The first time was because I got in a fight with someone at a bar who was dissing my dad's music. He didn't know about it, and luckily I wasn't in that long so I didn't have to explain myself to anyone." He wasn't sure why he was telling her this, probably just to fill the silence. "Anyway," he unlocked the other side and set the handcuffs on the floor between them. "I'm not the kind of person who goes around hurting people for no reason, so...if I somehow hurt you in some way, I'm sorry."Wyld Card: Her eyes shot back to him as he backed up against the bars, getting away from her as best he could. She actually felt a sting of rejection at it, but turned her head, doing her best to brush it off in her head... and not to let him see how much it really did get to her. Ears perking as he began to speak again, she peered at him out of the corner of her eye, quirking a brow. “Well that’s not surprising to hear...” She scoffed quietly, but smirked some at his explanation. It amused her a bit to hear about him being such a gallant defender of his father’s music. And for a moment she pondered what kind of music he played. His son was talented enough that she enjoyed it when he played for her. The guy couldn't be that bad. Then she caught herself with her mind wandering again, sighing and closing her eyes, pinching the bridge of her nose. There was something there at the tip of her tongue, but the sound of the handcuffs being placed on the floor made her look at him in a bit of a surprise. “Well aren't you the talented one.” she said with an amused grin, though it quickly faded with his apology. “Look... you don’t have to get all Sir Gallant on me... And what makes you think you hurt me? Sheesh. Guilty conscious much?” She shifted in her spot, sitting on the floor in a more comfortable way, kicking one boot over the other, a smirk still on her face as she crossed her arms over her chest. “So... those claws any good for jail locks?” though she was merely musing out loud.Hayden Love: He flicked his ears, "How is that not surprising?...Do I really seem like that type?" He bit his lip, careful not to make it bleed again. What did she mean by that? Did she really see him as the type to go land himself in jail? He flushed as she complemented his ability to escape his chains. 'Sir Gallant?' He tried to back track, but couldn't think of a way out. "Well, I didn't mean that, I just, well I was, um, I wasn't sure, so I just..." He glanced around to make sure none of the officers heard her, but there weren't any present. He rubbed the back of his neck and shrugged. "Kind of," he held out a hand so she could see one of his claws. "I tried to break out last time I was here. It worked, but I messed up my claw hecka bad." Where all of his other claws grew out smooth and sharp, one of them was jagged and awkward from breaking in the large door lock. "Lucky I didn't get caught..." His thoughts derailed and he wondered how much longer they'd get to stay alone in this cell together. Would she leave him as soon as she was free? Or would she want to keep in contact? More importantly, would he ever get to look into, what could only be, beautiful intelligent eyes that hid behind Wyld's dark black mask?Wyld Card: As he almost seemed to take offence to her saying that, she couldn’t help rolling her eyes, a bit of a smirk on her face. She let him babble on a bit, but his last words... Well... That made her snirk. “OH! You get all touchy and offended when I say that, then you damn yourself right after. Yes. You very much seem the type to land your a** in jail. You’re here now, and now I know that you seem to frequent the place” Her tone was snarky, a bit pissy with him over the fact that he got upset for her reading him right. Whatever! In an impatient way, she held out her hands to him, quirking a brow. “Are you gonna stop jabbering on like the loon that you seem to be, or you gonna get me out of these so we can bust the ******** out of here?” After saying that, her temper cooled some, giving another smirk as she was amused. Amused by him. Who would have thought that the singer that caused her so much grief and got her busted would really have been someone with a jailhouse punch card?! Just that thought alone, accompanied by the fact he was a brawler, actually made her purr. It seemed to rub her in just the right way. Maybe there was a good reason for the fact that she wasn’t able to stop thinking about this guy after all... even though she was still pissed at him for being that much of a distraction! Although, his being a big baby over a nail made her eyes roll once again. She was beginning to think that she would forever be rolling her eyes at him.Hayden Love: He huffed at her comment about his 'type,' but he couldn't bring himself to leave her in the handcuffs. He moved closer to her and, after a quick glance over his shoulder, helped free her wrists. Now for the escape. He slipped over to the door and pressed his head against the bars so he could see the time. Could they really be this lucky? It was lunch time so there would only be one or two cops around, hungry and waiting for their turn to go out to eat. Hayden chewed the inside of his cheek and slid his hand between the bars. Please don't break! Please don't break! He slipped his claw into the keyhole, not letting his eyes leave the hallway. Why was he doing this? If he was patient, they'd let him out in a few hours. So why...? He glanced behind him and saw Wyld. Oh, right. He'd get to leave, but someone was probably going to press charges for her thieving. There was a click and the door shifted. He pulled his claw out to find his finger bloody, but the claw still intact. Balling his hand into a fist so she couldn't see, he let the door open. "Ladies first."Wyld Card: Breathing a quiet sigh of relief as her wrists were freed from the cuffs, she slipped them into her back pocket, figuring they may be useful at some point in time to her. Who knows. Cocking a brow as she watched him, as he looked back at her, She was left wondering what the hell that was about as he looked like he was thinking a good bit. She had to try so hard to keep from just laughing at him as he just looked so funny doing what he was doing while trying to unlock the lock to the cell door. Then he FINALLY got it lock open! God! Even though it felt like it took forever, which it was really her just being impatient, she did step up behind him while she peered out, patting him on the shoulder. With a snicker, she looked at him, shaking her head in her own amusement at ‘ladies first’ as that was something she was not and not used to being referred to as. Not wasting another moment, she snuck out through the door, pinning herself against the wall opposite the cell, and inched along a couple feet. She looked back at him, waving him out as she tried not speaking loudly in her impatience. “C’mon, slow poke. I don’t feel like waiting around to get caught here...” and with that, she continued along until she got to another hallway. “hmmmmm...” Peering up, she spied a vent and grinned. “Hey... Think you can boost me up?” the cat asked with a grin.Hayden Love: He jumped a little as she patted him on the shoulder, but did his best not to show it. As they both left the cell, he used his handcuffs to hold the door shut and turned to follow. She was already halfway down the hall and waving at him to hurry up. As she looked away, he took a moment longer to appreciate how amazing she looked and then ducked down and caught up to Wyld. When they reached a turn in the hallway, he glanced back to make sure no one was coming. They were lucky it was a slow day and there was no one else behind bars. Chances were that if anyone else had been in there, they would have made a ruckus and given them away. He turned back and jerked to a halt before he ran into Wyld, who had stopped and was looking at something on the ceiling. He glanced up and saw the vent and looked back down to see her giving him a Cheshire-like grin. He flushed a little, "Hm? Yeah, 'course." Hayden knelt down and locked his fingers to create a foothold. She was light and combined with the muscles he'd gained from a lifetime of playing guitar, he had no problem lifting her up. Rising to his feet, Hayden looked up, positioned her right under the vent, and took a moment to be grateful she wasn't the type to wear a skirt.Wyld Card: Having been caught up in what she had been doing, looking out for the cops and then trying to figure out how to get up in the vent, she gave a grunt as Hayden had crashed into her, turning her head to glare at him for a moment. "Hey... watch it twinkle toes." she chided him with a scoff. The moment that he gave the grin after her question, she wondered what it was for, but whatever! As long as he could he her up there, then okay. Not wasting a moment as Hayden laced his fingers together, she grabbed his shoulder then wedged her boot in his hands, taking him lifting her easy as anything. Reaching up, she carefully pulled the pin that held the vent closed, slowly lowering it so the hinges wouldn't squeak too much. After that, she gripped the edges and pulled herself up, grunting some as she wriggled on into the shaft. Thank goodness it wasn't a smaller one. Turning about, she laid on her stomach and reached down for his hands. "C'mon..."Hayden Love: As she slowly opened the vent, he scanned the halls. There wasn't a cop in sight and, as seen in almost every movie ever, that meant there was definitely a cop headed their way right now. As Wyld made her way up into the vent, Hayden quickly wiped most of the blood off his hand and got ready to jump up. Wyld was pretty strong and he was glad he did weigh too much and that he was the awkward skinny type, otherwise, he probably wouldn't have been able to make it in. Despite that, he ended up scraping his back on the edge, so he gritted his teeth and kept his breathing even to hide it. He dropped to stomach and carefully pulled the vent shut, quickly locking it back in place, and gave it a gentle nudge to make sure it was secure. Sitting up a little, he brushed the hair from his eyes and watched Wyld. "Which way?"Wyld Card: She grunted some as she worked to pull him up, having biting her lip to keep from making too much noise to give them away. Thank goodness she was strong. Though she couldn’t help making a slightly quiet remark as she smirked down at him along the lines of ‘this feeling familiar’ before he was finally up in the vent with her. She slumped back against the metal for a moment, sticking out her tongue, wishing she hadn't been wearing her damned leather stuff today of all days because she was starting to feel a bit too warm. As Hayden fidgeted with the vent’s cover, she pulled her jacket off, grateful that she had a halter top underneath of it, tying off the sleeves of her jacket around her waist. She shrugged in reply to his question, peering back and forth before deciding to nod to the right, figuring that since it seemed like it lead toward the back of the building. or so she hoped, that it would be their best bet. “Let’s go this way. I think it might lead out back... I dunno, but it’s worth a shot.” and with that, she turned about, and started creeping that way, her tail switching back and forth behind her as she went.Hayden Love: He huffed a little when she brought up the tree incident when they first mean and was about to make a comment, but when he looked up from closing the vent his mind went blank. If it wasn't hot in the vent before, it was now. He was grateful when she looked away as he blushed so hard he thought he might faint. Shaking himself he quickly hurried along after her so they wouldn't get separated. He quietly crawled behind her watching her tail as it moved, thinking how soft it must be...Hayden froze for a moment and slowly pulled his hand away. He was so lost in thought he almost started petting her tail. He glanced up to see if she'd caught him, then quickly looked away and started playing with his hair like it was bothering him. It kinda was. It'd been months since he bothered to get it cut. After meeting Wyld he just didn't feel like going out and sitting in a chair and listening to someone try to make awkward conversation while he ignored them and told them his crappy haircut looked good. He accidentally bumped into Wyld. "Sorry..." he mumbled, embarrassed. He hated the fact he couldn't stop spacing out around her. Giving himself another shake he tried to pay attention to what was going on. They were trying to break out after all and they'd fail if he kept this up. With that in mind, he rolled his shoulders irritating the scrape on his back. His adrenalin rushed in and he winced a little. That should keep me till we get out of here. In a more serious tone he asked, "Where to next?"Wyld Card: All that she managed in reply to his huff was an eye roll. C’mon! It wasn’t the first time she had to haul his a** up! As she had been too busy getting herself at least semi situated and a little less hot from being leather clad, she didn’t even notice him going crazy gaga weird on her for it. Good thing too, because there would have had been some teasing in it for him from her. She lead him through the vents, tail twitching and flicking. She didn’t know where the hell she was really going. It was her best guess, so she was slightly irritated with herself for it. Wyld gave an ‘oof’ as he bumped into her, peering back at him and hissing some as she scolded him quietly. “Watch it, you! Pay attention, dammit. This isn’t any time to space off!” ... and then his question. Damn... She peered down the vent, seeing it split off in a couple different ways. When she got up to where it split, she looked side to side, then nodded to the right. “It looks lighter down that way... we’ll give it a shot...” and with that, she started off down the way to the right, hoping that she wasn’t leading them toward an area in the station.
