"There's another one over there!"

The voices, the oddly white coats emerging from the white fog seemed almost transparent. Even the light coaxing, the feeling of being carried, dragged away somewhere, someone shouting to stay awake-

- A flash of pain, a hiss, the scrape of something, a hum of Runic weapons -

- And then they were awake again. Conscious.

It was a tent, situated in what could only be explained as a charred black crater close to the Haunted House, a simple tent stocked with supplies, a few Life and Moon Hunters scurrying about and most of all-

- Relief from the voices. The strange fog that curled around the Barrier daggers, ones that glowed an odd white instead of the customary blue.

"It's a temporary relief for now," One of the Moon Hunters explained, looking haggard herself, frayed around the edges, like everyone else, ready to snap at any given moment, "It's the least we can do. If you're going to head out again, at least take some emergency supplies with you, we didn't bring much, but it should be enough." She seemed uncertain. "We lost- the fog is blocking - well, don't worry, leave that for us to figure out. For now, if you're going to head back out, your priority is to try and find the others and bring them back here. As many as you can. If you're feeling brave you can help ward our tent off larger invaders just be careful. Noone has any clue what we're facing or up against."

OOC

ALL HUNTERS:

- If you hit under 0 HP, it is DEFAULT considered 0 HP (in any battle). AT this point as you pass out, you'll hear someone shouting perhaps, voices, as Hunters come and carry you back to the tent. There isn't much around the tent and there is no space: everyone is busy. Apparently the fog is blocking the portal back, and not just the portals, the pendants, everything. It's going to be a while as everyone dispatched is apparently stuck.
- All Hunters that are dragged back here get a FREE RECOVERY (unlimited times, as long as they're hitting the 0 HP line). They also get for limited use, two First Aid kits, these will recover FULL HEALTH twice. You only get two of these for the entire duration of this transition so use them wisely!
- Also feel free to use this place for RP. Hunters are free to drop by, ask NPC questions, talk with each other, regroup, so on so forth. If asking an IC question, please quote Zoobey thank you!

Minutes felt like hours and hours felt like eons, but Leon knew he had to keep moving. Even if it was a fog filled maze of death, he had to get Robert somewhere safe. ANYWHERE. He needed assistance. it was already difficult to move with the hunter on his back, but to try and reach for the phone that was tucked in his pants was just as excruciating. The boxer bit back the groan as he flipped the device open and dialed the emergency line for deus.

"hello this is Deus Ex 119 call center this is Miranda, may i get your name and your state of emergency please." the voice of one chipper young lady came n the line. not something that he expected as he pulled the phone away in disbelief and quickly returned it back into place. "Uh Leon, life division. About to die with trainee Robert in tow, who is this again?" he asked rudely as the sound of keys clattering away reached his ears.

"Thaannnk you Leon, I just had to let you know that this call may be monitored for security reason as well as possible over the phone bodily dismemberment."
she said with a blur, he had to wonder if she went through this ordeal every time. she had to have been reading from a script he figured.

he hoped.

"After tracing your call Mr. Stone, I have found the nearest search and rescue team and sent them the details to your location, you may proceed to live or die in a horrific explosion and they will be on your way." again, more disbelief from the stunned life hunter. "wh-huh? what do you mean by-" he began until the Miranda picked up from where she left off.

"Thank you for your call and we hope that next time you have enough time to pick up again in our for us to save your life. or not. Take care."
It was without a doubt in his mind, this girl was in the death division.

"They're over here!" came the sound from a few yards away, flashlights raised alongside the blades of weapons as Leon tried to wave them down before falling flat on his face, exhaustion finally took its toll. The stocky hunter the managed to reach the two first began taking pulses and shouting commands.

Lucky day, it was the leader of their search party, The athlete felt calmer as darkness closed in on his sight and the sounds began to fade.

"i need a couple of stretchers and an IV for them stat, multiple cuts and trauma, get the extra bags of blood ready and 3 cc's of aceto......."

Finally, the whispers of Home would cease, if only for a little while, he could rest peacefully.

Waking up was disorienting. Jordan recalled claws slicing into him, the soundless shock of Ferros's shield giving way under the brutal and relentless attacks, then pain, and nothing. He blinked his eyes open to the sight of a tent roof overhead. He must have been rescued, dragged back after they'd --

-- where were Harrison and Rep? He sat up too quickly, and his shoulder and neck burned with pain where the fog-thing's claws had dug in. He winced, put his hand up, found himself well bandaged. Didn't matter. He pushed himself to the edge of the cot and scanned the cots around him.

Harrison woke up and touched his chest, pulling the army blanket aside to woozily assess the damage.

His shirt had been clipped off. Bandages were in its place.

The fresh claw marks would fit right in with the old ones, he thought sardonically.

"Guys?" he asked, into the oblivious bustle of the tent.

Rep didn't know how long he'd been out, just that his dreams had been a constant high resolution replay of the moments before he lost his senses. Over and over he failed to fight back the creatures - over and over those wailing sirens. He didn't want to dream but he didn't want to wake up either, there was no sanctuary anywhere in his mind. Even as the voices in the tent coaxed him out of his dreams, creeping intrusively into his vague and blurry thoughts - he fought them back. Why couldn't they just let him stay here, this place between sleep and waking where the fog couldn't touch him.

Breathing hurt.

He was still breathing, still alive. It wasn't a reassurance, not yet.

It took him a long time to resurface enough that he could no longer deny conciousness, aware that every drawn breath, every exhale created a lance of pain across his back, down into his ribs. He was on his chest. A coward's injury, marked for running away.

A severed eclipse.

He opened the eye not currently pressed against the pillow below him, there was the throbbing agony of his eye adjusting to the sudden light. He was in a tent. There were hunters. faceless, unfamiliar and milling around. It was noisy, he couldn't pick out one voice from the next. They didn't matter if Harrison and Jordan were gone, absolutely nothing mattered if that was the case. He wanted to curl up, to deny any of it had happened at all.

It hurt to breathe.

But the ragged aching void that resurfaced whenever he so much as considered his guys could be dead hurt a hundred thousand times more. Even brushing on the thought with the fingertips of reason made him nauseous. He felt sick, he felt helpless.

He was too afraid to try and move, to call out to see if they were still alive.

Too afraid of the silence if they were not.

"Harrison?" Jordan turned to look for the familiar voice, breathed a small sigh of relief when he found Harrison on a nearby cot. If Rep had brought them in - no, if Rep had brought them to the tent he'd be hovering anxiously; he must also be here, in one of the cots. Jordan refused to consider the other possibility. "Where's Rep?"

"Rep's missing?" Harrison repeated with a near high-pitched franticness, adrenaline snapping back into his limbs as he sat up-

Tried to sit up.

He found himself staring back at the ceiling with stars in his eyes.

"Rep?" he asked, blinking back the blackness.

Paralysed with anxiousness and a lurking dread bled over from the fog, he lay still where he was, breathing shallowly and just listening. A lull in the noise of people going to and fro was enough that he caught his name being said - and in what was definitely a familiar voice.

He opened his eye again and placing both palms on the cot pushed himself up.

What happened next sounded a lot like "I'm HE-ARGHH" as his back let him no in no uncertain terms that he wasn't ******** able to get up like that. He flopped back down hard, catching his ragged breath and mouthing swear words between that.

Jordan slumped in place with relief as he heard Rep's voice, then hissed with pain as his shoulder twinged again. "We're here," he called, and lowered himself gingerly back down onto the cot. "Resting now. s**t, that hurt."
PostPosted: Mon Oct 01, 2012 5:08 pm

"My fault," Harrison groaned, "s**t, next time I am going to tell you both to move your asses instead of hinting at it like it's your department to make any call other than wreck their s**t," but the oath was half-hearted, too overcome by relief in hearing both their voices.

He lay back and could hear some of the distant complaining- portals down, nothing was working, and a lot of guys were still lost out there in the fog.

"Glad you're okay."

He tested the wounds again, sitting up, not so much, and rolled himself over on his side. The pain was sharp, but he powered through it. He remembered what happened to the wounded Hunters in the Sahara.

"Don't rest too long," he growled, "don't know what else is out there."

The relative silence was a fleeting moment, especially in a med bay where the groans of the fallen were plentiful. The life hunter stirred from his cot, the groan already out from his lips and a hand at his bandaged torso. The placed smelled like a doctors office, the stark, disinfected smell that made Leon nauseous.

He used to be fine with this smell, but that was indeed in a past life. Not the man felt at bandages that needed to be tighter, and they were wet with blood. "Man you guys are loud." he rasped out, tired and weakened. He barely managed to turn around, to check on the prone form of Robert not far away. Any other movement made his chest hurt and he found that out the hard way looking for one Jerry. "Is Jerry here, any of you guys see him?"
PostPosted: Mon Oct 01, 2012 5:28 pm

Good. They were alive. It was like someone had lifted a weight off him. It still hurt to breathe but now he had a reason.

<>

"Not your fault." he grunted at Harrison. "No one's fault."

He wanted to say he was glad they were okay too, that he'd been worried there. Really worried. But he couldn't, saying it aloud would bring it all back to him in the same vivid detail as the dream.

Even there in safety and with everyone alive, he couldn't shake the lingering chill, the terror of facing up to that ******** pyramid head still following him. It was still out there somewhere, as was the other creature, the woman with her ******** claws. When Leon spoke up though, whatever desire for conversation, to reach out and look for the reassurance he felt like he needed died in the water. That s**t wasn't manly.

He didn't know where Jerry was. "Probably here. Like a human cockroach."

Robert was going to owe Leon a lot, when he managed to not be a pile of blood, broken bones, and bruised body parts.

Right now, he owed nothing to no one. Being unconscious was a lot like sleep, except you didn't have to think. Or dream.

So it was more like death. Just temporary.

Jerry didn't know how long he was out. He remembered shouting to Leon, ordering him to haul Robert away, he remembered the two apparitions, he remembered being unable to get a clear shot, he remembered claws and fangs and...

Blackness.

A jolt of pain from his shoulder roused him with a groan.

His immediate thought was panic, and he sat up with a wild yelp.

The arm was still in-tact, to his relief.... but even so, he might want to ease off of the guitar until it mended.

Wobbling, his head swimming, he flopped back down again, clutching the thankfully-in-tact-arm frantically.

"Awoowooowoowoo..." He managed distantly. Well. he had certainly be ravaged by wolves- or a wolf- or was it a dog? Either way it had been enormous and horrible and he wasn't quite sure how he had gotten here. "Robert? Leon?" His glasses, though, were MIA.

"Jerry, if you got fleas now, I'm going to send you to the ER section." Leon managed to croak out. At least he is still alive, at least they all are, it was one worry off his own mind.

It at least made him chuckle for a brief instant, a low sly laugh of relief.

That quickly turned into a scream of pain at the innocent action as he clutched his poor midsection. Note to self, no more laughing.
