Kettil had taken a bit of time to himself trying to figure out how best to tackle to the subject after his little conversation with Hel. She was right; he'd been a welcome mat for Freya this entire time. He was letting her get away with things, and just simply laying down in fear of losing her friendship and to keep her happy. Kettil wanted her to smile - all the time, he wanted her only to laugh when he was around but that was just him turning away from the problem to make life easier for her and it was harming them both. It was killing him on the inside and it was doing untold damage to Freya.

He was coddling her because of the things she'd told him in the past and honestly right now coddling was the last thing she needed. As such had Endzela stay behind because sadly she'd only be a distraction and a way for Freya to 'hide' if she didn't want to hear things that he might have to say depending on how the visit went.

As he paused in front of her door he held a plastic bag full of food which was mostly candies, chips and a couple of fruits. Things that he hoped he could coax her to eat with him. He was trying to go into this without a completely combative mindset but he was also ready if it should arise or at least he hoped he was. A hand reached up and knocked on the door, "Freeeeeyaaaa~, let me in, let me innn~!"

Freya hadn't fixed her door yet. It was still off it's hinges, but it looked closed. So when Freya heard Kettil's voice, she charged over and wrapped her arms around the door, picking it up to haul it right out of the way. It certainly didn't look like the ghoul was suffering from weakness, at that moment.

She moved the door to the side, and then opened her arms to welcome Kettil, but she froze in mid movement. She spied what he was holding, and her skin paled for a moment, before she flushed with anger.

"ACH. NOT AGAIN." She screamed, moving to pick the door up again and do the closest thing to slamming it in his face that she could.

Just. Putting it back into place.

Nope.

This wasn't gonna go the way Freya thought it would. Lifting up a leg he waited until he was sure she'd be a safe distance back from it and kicked it in, "Nope. Nope. Not allowed." he said simply as he stepped in stepping on the poor door in the process, "Miss Freya, it is time we had a chat," he said as he held the bag in a fashion that it was slung over his shoulder and mostly 'hidden' from view and he also stood in the door way just to make sure Freya wouldn't shoot past him just yet.

That'd just be anti-climatic.

"I'm not here to force you to do anything," he said softly, "I just want you to sit with me and tell me what is going on, please, and maybe if you feel up to it you can at least eat an apple or something with me," his tone was pleading but very serious. He was kind of going to give her the option to eat or not.

...Not really.

Freya had already been headed towards her couch when the door falling made her jump, and she turned as she did so, falling back onto the couch and staring up at her friend with shock, awe, and just a touch of fear. She'd never known Kettil to be so forceful. She didn't know what it meant, or what she was going to do about it.

But as he explained what he was here for, she visibly relaxed. That sounded more like the Kettil she knew and loved. He wasn't going to try to force her to do anything - he was just here because he cared, just like Hel had said. And she might even attempt to eat something, to make him feel better. But then he would be tasked with fixing her door.

Because that's what men were for.

"Okays, Hooter." Freya's expression turned wry, and maybe a little impressed. "If yeh wants it that much, yeh can stays. I don't promise nothings, but I'll talks teh yeh. I just don't knows if I has anything teh says that yeh'll wants teh hear."

Once he was sure she wasn't going to just run past him to freedom he just walked further inward toward her and as she talked his expression didn't soften nor did he grin, "I don't give two shits if it is something I want to hear or not. You Jack Damn promised me no more corners," he said firmly. He might have taken a softer tone a few moments ago but he wasn't going to let her run him over again. He wasn't going to let her get away with things like he had in the past.

"So we will talk. You will tell me everything," he said firmly.

If she refused to tell him everything then he wasn't sure what he was going to do. If she held back then she might as well stomp on his heart now to save him the trouble if she was going to break her promise to him again as she had in the past.

No more corners.

Freya slumped as Kettil threw the reminder in her face, and she dropped her head in guilt, before shaking it and leaning forward. Her hands reached out to grab his. "Hooter, I don't wants teh hides anythings from yeh. It isn't like that, I promise. Is just.. I don't knows what's wrong. I barely even knew there was somethings wrong until Hel beats it into me. I don't knows how teh talks about this. Please believe me, Hooter. I don't ever wants teh keeps anythings from yeh."

There was genuine fear in her voice. If Kettil ever thought she was lying to him, she'd lose him. She'd lost enough at this point - someone as important as Kettil would have finished her off for good.

He didn't soften when she slumped but she let her grab his free hand and listened to her patiently quietly taking in her words and making sure she wasn't going to try and wiggle out of this talk that he was trying to have with her. The fear in her voice tugged at his heart strings very easily he wanted to turn around and grin as if he was just kidding about the whole ordeal and just walk back out apologizing the entire way but this would hurt them both. Hurt them badly.

Kettil's hand squeezed hers reassuringly, "I won't turn my back on you, okay? As long as you are honest with me I will stay for as long as you need me. I don't care if it takes days or weeks but ... I'll help you and I'll listen."

Carefully he brought the sack forward but instead of shoving it toward her he placed it on the floor for now. It would be there later when they need it, "You mean too much to me to let me keep watching you go through this without doing something. I'm sorry I kept acting like nothing was wrong I thought maybe...You were sorting it out, you never reached out to me but maybe I should have just grabbed you and shook it out of you from the start instead of waiting for you to come crying to me."

Just the way he was talking, apologizing for not pushing harder, made her lips turn up in a smirk. "You've been talkings teh Hel, haven't yeh.." There was no way Kettil would have come up with the idea that he was being soft on her all by himself. She kind of liked that he wasn't pushy, like the people she had grown up with. But she also knew that when it counted, pushy got the job done. And she supposed this counted as one of those times.

She reached up and brushed one of the long, thick braids of hair out of his face, before tweaking his nose. "I'm sorry I've been worrying yeh. But yeh did gives me something I needed, Hooter. Something nobody else was givings me at the time, and it was just as important." She bit her tongue between her teeth cheekily. "Yeh mades me smiles when I thoughts I had nothings teh smiles about."

He didn't look sheepish or ashamed as she pointed out that he'd talked to Hel, "Yep, yep, I did. She helped to give me some perspective on things," he didn't protest when she brushed the braids from his face nor did he protest when she tweaked his nose. He finally smiled a little bit when she said that he'd made her smile but it was gone for all the two seconds it was there.

This was serious time and if he wasn't serious then he might as well not be here.

"I'm glad I can make things better for you and honored that I make you smile but that doesn't mean I should just keep on goin' like there's nothing wrong, Freya, I just can't do that anymore...I can't just bend down and ...let you be this way." He looked troubled, "it is as if ... you're fading away sometimes."

But now, Kettil was starting to hit that nerve. The one that pushed her DNW button, and made all of her hesitant strength fade away. She pulled away from him, letting his hands go, and curled up on the other side of the couch. Her legs curled underneath her, and her arms wrapped around her body.

"I didn't says yeh has teh bends. Do whatever yeh needs, just stops sayings things like that." Her voice was a hiss, quiet and breathy. "Yeh cames here teh asks me questions? Then asks them. Now, before I change my mind."

He followed her and sat next to her but not touching her, "I'm not saying that you said anything of the sort, not vocally," he said simply his hands rested on his lap as he stared down at them. He was trying not to just give up and walk out just because she was sulking at him or pulling away. Kettil never once expected it to go smoothly.

"Why won't you eat? What happened that made you want to stop eating? At least stop eating like you should be..." If he was going to do this he was just going to go straight for the issue at hand, the biggest issue that he knew of right now.

Of all the questions to start with.

Freya didn't want to upset Kettil. In fact, on her list of things to do, the top was quite easily 'don't upset Kettil'. But she couldn't help it. If she couldn't figure out her problem, how could she tell others?

"I.. don't.. knows - Kettil please don't be mads, I really don't understands any of this, please, please Kettil." While her initial few words had come out choppy and hesitant, the rest came out all in a rush, fearing that he would leave her just for denying him that knowledge. Her eyes glimmered with desperation - she needed him to stay.

Kettil was the direct opposite of mad he just seemed perplexed and even more worried. He didn't get up and storm off he just stayed there gazing over at her, "...Will you start eating again?" He asked quietly.

He quietly started shift in his seat a bit to face her a bit more, "By that I don't mean all at once but slowly will you start eating actual food again?" Kettil clarified after a few moments. After he got her dietary issues settled he could wander into the choppier waters of 'why'. He was concerned about the future more than was about the past. If Freya faded away to nothing then who would be his Princess Goldilocks?

She was so relieved that he wasn't angry with her, that the second question didn't disturb her as much as it normally did. The nausea did not come, and she took deep breaths before throwing herself at him, arms around his waist in a vice-like grip.

That wasn't an answer to his question, but she couldn't help herself. He wasn't angry with her for not understanding her own condition.. Kettil was the best ever.

He let out a surprised grunt as she suddenly flung herself at him. An arm draped over her for a second before he used the hand to brush some fly away hair from the side of her face, "TĂșkut, you didn't answer my question," he reminded her quietly.
