The white and black cheetah stood up from his resting spot and stretched out. He looked over to see if the lioness that had decided to follow him was still laying near by. He wondered if she had been there all night or if her boredom had led her to wander away from where he had decided they should rest. He gave a small groan as he heard his stomach growl and patted it with a paw in hopes it would quiet down. He needed to hunt and soon, though he would try to put it off until the black and green lioness woke up.

Ru'yah was having a terrific dream. She and Jaryx had found a nice sunny beach, and Ru'yah just layed there and soaked up the sun. Then it turned bad and a recap of last night played in her head. She was swimming, when all of a sudden she started drowning... Her green eyes flicked open at remember what she did last night. Never again, not until she knew how to swim decently at least. She let loose a moan, for some reason her legs hurt and it was painful to stand. Still, she managed it. "Good morning." she said sleeply. She began to wonder how long her friend had been up, but then shook it off and just gave him a cheerful smile.

Jaryx watched as the expression on Ru'yah's face switched from a contented look while she slept, to a expression of pain as she woke up and tried to stand. He wondered what his lioness friend had gotten up to while he was sleeping. "Morning," he replied with a yawn. "Feel like trying to get breakfast?"

Ru'yah still mantained her sleepy expression while she spoke. "Alrighty, let's do that." She wasn't feeling the ping of hunger one usually did in the morning, but hunting would take her mind off her nightmare. She sniffed the ground for any familiar scents, but only came up with her and Jaryx's. Ah, that mean't she'd actually have to look for food. Well, she had her friend to go with her. That was always nice.

Jaryx nodded and let her walk out in front of him. He wouldn't do much good for hunting this far back, but he could keep an eye on her. When they had stopped to rest she had been fine, so what had happened to cause her to wake up hurt? They had been laying on grass so it couldn't have been a rock or anything that she could have laid on. Nor did it look like something had attacked her during the night, never mind the fact that he would have heard if she had been attacked. He sniffed as he tried to pick up a scent besides their own and kept following her.

Ru'yah moved foward, but every step became more and more painful to bare. Why? Granted she almost drowned, but she didn't think that was why her legs hurt. It may have been possibly that when she pushed her limits by trying to swim across the pond that was causing her suffering. She had to fight to keep afloat, let alone paddle her way around in the water. She stopped and lifted her left paw, then carefully placed it back on the ground. She cringed at feeling a sharp pain run up her leg. How was she suppost to hunt like this?

When she stopped walking and picked up her paw, Jaryx halted behind her and watched. She seemed to be favoring it quite a bit more now that they were walking. He watched as she cringed as she lowered the paw back to touch the ground. "Are you alright," he called to her, feeling as if he already knew the answer but wanted to hear it from her to make sure.

The normal responce for one who didn't want to talk about their injurys might say "I'm fine." However Ru'yah was quite honest and responded by saying: "No, not really." Then she turned and forced a smile. "But I'll live."

"What happened?" he asked her, looking over her paw for any injuries. "You were alright when you fell asleep; did something happen during the night?"

Ru'yah lifted her head and thought about how to explain what had happened. "I wanted to swim, so I tried to pratice." She stopped walking, her paw was in its fair share of pain, forcing herself to walk would probabley create more problems than it solved. "But then I started drowning, so I kicked my legs and stuff... Then I ran back to where you were sleeping, and yeah, that's it." As far as she knew that's all that happened.

Jaryx sighed. He had specifically told her not to try to swim like that on her own. He looked over her paw again, wondering if he had overlooked any injuries. Though if she had panicked like she had before, she could have bashed it hard against a rock. "Next time, either wait or wake me up. Your paw being hurt is the least of what could have happened," he told her. "Do you remember hitting it against anything or stepping on anything while trying to get back?"

"Hmm..." Ru'yah thought about if she had hit her paw on something. "Nope, I don't know what happened." She said in her usual, relaxed voice. "Maybe I was sleep walking." Although Ru'yah didn't have a history of sleep walking... 'Course, sleep-walkers usually don't know they are sleep walking. That is sort of inconvient, isn't it? Ru'yah felt so. How terrible, you could be having a wonderful dream and not even know your heading for the edge of a cliff.

Jaryx sighed again and gave up on his inspection of the lioness's paw. "Well please be careful; there's a lot that could happen out here if you go swimming on your own or go off sleep walking," he replied and wondered how she could be so easy going when it came to both of those options.

Ru'yah nodded in responce. "I'll be more careful, I Promise." Although her tone of voice made her seem to be simply brushing off what was just said to her...

Her tone of voice didn't inspire much confidence for him but he let it slide. She would have to learn better though hopefully it wouldn't end in a horrible outcome for her. "Alright," he gave a small nod, "Do you want to try to keep going?"
