Alright, this contest is to see who can figure out the formula needed to make the equalities true. Good luck everyone!
Prizes*: 1st Prize: 150k gold for finding out the entire formula. 2nd Prize: 10k gold for finding out the shorcut for whole numbers.
Examples**: f(482,937,182) = 44 f(44) = 8 f(8 ) = 8
f(928,837,468,194,652,883) = 101 f(101) = 2 f(2) = 2
f(327) = 12 f(12) = 3 f(3) = 3
*If the prizes seem unreasonable, let me know. **More examples can be added upon request.

Soubi N Butterflies You give me an equation, I can find the answer... I can't do the other way around :/ haven't taken a math class in 4 years or more now Sorry. If the examples aren't enough to find the shortcut, then I guess I need to say that the shortcut is a thousand times easier to find than the actual formula.

Well, I think it's been long enough without any more responses. Time to void this contest. All in favor, don't bother replying. All opposed, say so. If none are opposed, I'll consider it officially voided October 4th.

Well, you didn't say that you were opposed, but you replied... I guess that was the grey area that I overlooked. Does that mean I should leave it up?
Edit: Well, since the shortcut is so much easier to find than the formula itself, you should probably look for the shortcut first. Think simple and unusual.
