Why did this happen? Of all the things, why did they have to pair her up with a Cerberus knight? Moraine was confident she could do this on her own, that she didn’t need help, much less from a majin lover. Call it her bias or pride, but when she’d been told her would have to work with one while staking out majin ‘nest’? Moraine had to leave the room, go down to training, and proceed to trash at a dummy. She did not like Cerberus knights, and of course, they would send her with one. What he superiors were thinking she had no idea. Maybe they had all been drunk. They must have been to make such a decision.

Still orders were orders, and she took them, gathering her supplies. Grumpy, and snapping at anyone, she left the castle to get to the location. Once out the gates, she kicked the stone walls. So infuriating. Stomping away managed to get to the location just before nightfall. At least the Cerberus knight was not their just yet. Maybe she could drive off whoever was sent to be her ‘partner’. The black heart didn’t need one, nest or no.

A woman, Moraine wasn’t sure if she should have been happy or sad with that. Some men did love to flatter, but it made for boring conversation most of the time, not to mention they often wanted a bit of company in the night. A woman was less likely to want these things but, women were territorial. While men might say they got into pissing matched, women could get into a fight that would leave them both ready to kill the next thing that moved.

“No, but you’re still a royal dog. Shame how that works.” She went to a tree, thinking to just setting up her ‘tent’. Really more of a cover from rain. “Let’s set get it all in the clear shall we?” Moraine gave the knight in white a look of contempt. “I keep to my side of the camp, you keep to your’s. We watch for the witch eaters, and if it comes to a fight, we stay out of each other’s way. At the end we report back and say how ‘lovely’ it was to work with each other but our skills are not suited to complement each other. End result we get this damn mission done then never have to deal with each other again.” A huff. “Why we have to deal with each other in the first place I have no idea. I’m nowhere near drunk enough to put up with you cerb’s goody two shoes bullshit.”
