It had been a fairly lazy day. For the most part anyhow. Not much seemed to be going on in Destiny city and most of Vythica's friends were off doing their own things. So that left her to her own devices for the day.
She had spent a lot of time pondering over recent events and fantasizing about a certain Negaverse Lieutenant. Quite a bit. Even though they had just recently met and didn't really even know it each, she felt drawn to him. And it was hard not to be when he wore an outfit that accentuated certain assets that drew her eye every time she looked at him. Mmmmm...
Wandering along the sidewalk, Vythica was dressed to kill for sure. A short little black skirt with fishnet stockings and knee high black boots with a little bit of a heel to them so that when she walked her butt stuck out a bit. A black short jacket with fur along the trim was pulled over a red t-shirt that read "I <3 Cthulu" across the front. She had no real set destination in mind for today, Vyth just needed to get out and about and do something with her time besides hanging out in her room.
Stopping in front of one shop though, she looked up at the sign. "Hmmm..." Pursing her lips together, she figured why the hell not and went inside. Perhaps she would find something new and interesting here. When she entered she was greeted by rows and rows of books. A little coffee shop off in a corner filled the air with that strong coffee and sweets smell. There were many people bustling about, minding their own business. Though some shot her curious glances before continuing on with what they were doing. Shoving her hands inside the small pockets of her jacket, she made her way past a bunch of tables where people were sitting. Either reading books or fiddling away on laptops. There was a small group off to the side who seemed to be having some sort of gathering, chatting away like no one else mattered.
How ignorant all of them seemed.
Making her way down one of the rows, she stopped at a magazine stand and picked up one of the latest issues of 'Fangoria', flipping through it idly.

Gabriel also had a lot on his mind, in the form of a certain Dark Mirror Senshi. She had thrown him totally off balance, and all he wanted was to see her again. But he had to get his mind off her, and so he was at the bookstore. Already he had picked up a copy of the new edition of A.D. After Disclosure and he was heading to the magazine rack to pick up the new edition of UFO Magazine. He also planned to pick up a copy of Asimov's Science Fiction and Fact, to get his dose of good sci-fi.
He had to stand on his toes to get the very well-hidden copy of UFO Magazine, and he was actually a little surprised it was all the way back there. He wondered if one of the bookstore employees had hidden it for him. That was a nice thought.
He stepped away from the shelf and glanced downward, and had a sense of deja vu. The girl there...she reminded him of Toutatis. But that wasn't possible, of course. Clearly it was just that he'd had the Dark Mirror Senshi on his mind way too much lately.

Vyth hadn't really been paying too much attention to anyone around her. So when the guy had come up to the magazine rack she'd merely shifted over slightly as she continued to flip through pages. Reaching into her coat pocket for a piece of gum which she chewed quickly then popped bubbles rather loudly.
It wasn't until she felt a set of eyes on her that she actually looked up from the magazine. Blowing a bubble and popping it again. Pale blue eyes blinked a couple times. He seemed....familiar. A slender eyebrow raised. Nah, it just had to be a coincidence. But still...stranger things had happened.
A wide grin parted ruby painted lips. "Hey there, cutie. If you're lookin' for the porn its behind the front counter probably."

Gabe hadn't even realized he had officially been staring. And then she addressed him and he flushed furiously. "Uh, er, I wasn't l-looking for the porn," he swallowed nervously.
Yup, definitely reminded him of Toutatis. Then again, most girls could send him right off track. "I, er, I was..." In lieu of more awkward babbled explanations, he held up the magazine he had been reaching so far for.
A normal person might have attributed equivalent levels of embarrassment to them. Not Gabe. "Supposed to be some interesting stories." He said, awkwardly scuffing his foot against the floor. What was it lately with all these ridiculously forward girls?

She laughed lightly to herself. Another boy who got flushed easily. Well wasn't this just her luck? Of course, she had only meant it as a joke and wasn't really accusing him of looking for dirty magazines. Though if he had been she would of at least been on the mark in guessing.
Leaning forward, she looked at the cover of the magazine he held up. Popping a few more bubbles. "Ah, I see. I know someone you might get a long well with. He likes these kinds of things too. Ya know, the whole aliens and bigfeet stuff. He's got a blog online that's pretty neat." Straightening up, she tucked the Fangoria magazine under her arm.
"You wanna get some coffee or something? Maybe tell me about some of this ufo stuff while I stare longingly at you?" She brushed her hair that had fallen forward back over her shoulder. Hey well now, this guy was pretty cute and well...she didn't even know who Natron was so, it wasn't cheating right? Its not like they had pledged their lives to each other or anything. Besides, what was a little flirting anyway?

Gabe blinked. "Oh, really? Then I probably know of him, at least; I try to keep up with as many blogs as I can. Is he local?" It was asked fully out of idle curiosity, since he was aware of most of the other Destiny City conspiracy blogs. Maybe her friend was one of the people he followed.
And then he was knocked off his feet again. Had this girl really just asked him out? A girl with an awesome "I <3 Cthulhu" shirt who seemed at least peripherally into the whole aliens thing? Jeez, between this chick and Toutatis he was going to start thinking he was actually appealing or something.
"I, yeah, sure, that sounds good." He said. He held out a hand for her to shake. "Gabriel Blake," he introduced himself.

"Yea, he's local. Kinda cute and quick to fluster like you are." She grinned. "But I figure a lot of you boys who blog are kind of like that. At least when blogging about those particular things."
A slight twinkle was in her eye as he had accepted her offer. Good, she like it when things went her way. Taking his offered hand, she gave it a small shake. "Vythica van Dread. A pleasure Gabriel Blake." Once she let go she turned on her heels, heading over towards the coffee corner. Giving an extra little sway to her hips as she walked. Heels were good for that.
Once at the counter, she waited for him for a second before she ordered herself some coffee and a blueberry muffin. "Order what you want. I'll pay." Vythica didn't mind paying honestly, she was the one taking him out of his normal schedule to entertain her interests. Which was mainly him at the moment.

Gabe coughed. "I guess most of us aren't all that good with girls," he admitted. Being a tinfoil-hat conspiracy theorist generally didn't leave the ladies lining up at your feet. Also girls were scarier than any alien.
"Vythica van Dread," he repeated her name, giving her a smile. It seemed fitting, considering her apparent interest in horror. The world worked in funny ways like that sometimes.
Given the opportunity to order what he wanted, Gabe actually went simple - a basic coffee and a scone. He hated to think he was overburdening her. "Kind of you to offer," he said. Didn't the guy normally pay on dates?
Was this a date?
He was going to pretend he hadn't even considered that. Daaangerous territory.

Paying quickly, she grabbed her coffee and muffin. Making her way over to a couple of over sized lounge chairs. She didn't feel like sitting at a regular table. Placing her goodies on the table, Vythica removed her fur jacket, revealing the rest of her shirt which hung low on her shoulders, exposing even more skin to the world.
Flopping into the chair, she leaned forward grabbing her coffee and sipping at it lightly. Obviously waiting for Gabe to join her. "So..." She took another sip. "Talk at me." To which she leaned back in the chair, crossing her legs causing her skirt to slip up just a little bit more up her thighs. Vyth certainly didn't mind putting some of her womanly assets to good use. "What alien and creepy things tickle your fancy?" Honestly, she wouldn't mind tickling his fancy for one. But perhaps that would come later. Maybe. Who knew.
She watched him inquisitively, making assessments over every little movement he made. How he drank his coffee. Just him in general. He had a pretty nice a** to boot, so that was most certainly a plus and something she might not mind staring at. Vyth would most certainly hate for him to leave, but she would love to see him go.

It was really in vain, all that skin showing and such. Gabe was being very firmly oblivious to it, mostly because he just did not want to think about it. It was far, far too beyond his usual experience. Girls did not flirt with him, okay. It did not happen.
Except for Toutatis, who was clearly a little insane.
"Well, I mean, all kinds of things," he said, preferring to babble at her about his pet theories instead of letting his thoughts veer into dangerous territory again. "I mean, there's all kinds of stuff to consider here in Destiny City. Look at this...supposed 'gang war.'" He made little hand gestures, and his tone changed to reveal his contempt for the official explanation. "And then there was the mass disappearance. Over fifty people, all at once. Not counting all the other unsolved murders and disappearances in this city. Or the monster sightings." Oh yes, Destiny City was, in his mind, the place to be for a conspiracy theorist.

She had settled her coffee back onto the table, leaning back in her chair once more and lacing her fingers together as she listened. Nodding every now and again.
"What do you believe about these monster attacks? Are they aliens, cryptids?" Cocking her head to the side, she pursed her lips in thought for a moment. In all honesty she knew what the monsters were. The Youma that the Negaverse toted around. She wouldn't mind having a pet monster like that. It could be fun.
"And these gangs. What if they are just terrorists?" Picking up her muffin she took a bite before settling it back down on the table. "Though I've heard rumors of other groups trying to stop these....terrorists. I do have to giggle though. Some reports claim they are little girls who run around in short skirts with magical powers. It seems far fetched, but even reality can sometimes surprise you." She raised both eyebrows at him now. "And then those who are against them are suppose to be some agents or something. Who've got an allies type of thing with similar characters to the terrorists. Kind of like double double agents I guess."

"The monsters? Cryptids of some kind, I suspect," he said, "though they may be extraterrestrial in origin." Cryptid was really far closer to describing a youma, but he couldn't very well tell Vythica what they were.
Gabe actually laughed off the suggestion that they were mundane terrorists. "Terrorist groups make demands, or at least claim responsibility. On the other side of the coin, normal gangs deal in some sort of moneymaking operation. Drugs, weapons. These groups don't seem to." Okay, so the Negaverse had weapons, but they didn't sell them. "As for two groups, well, yeah, it's pretty clearly some kind of war. As for magic, ever heard of Clarke's Third Law?" He paused for a moment, then recited. "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." He nodded. "The terrorists, the girls in frilly skirts, I suspect are using some kind of alien technology. Cloaking, weapons. As for those opposed to them? Well, of course there would be. It's not like the people of Earth are going to roll over and be invaded."

A smirk crept across her lips as she raised a singular slender eyebrow at him. "Not always, its been proven that some terrorist groups have goals of only creating chaos. No interest in money or demands." Her finger tips tapped together. "Some men just want to watch the world burn." Or women she might add.
He seemed to know an awful lot about these terrorists and different groups. Of course, there was information everywhere that you looked. "So tell me Gabe, have you ever run across any of these monsters or war bound groups? If they are so rampant and blatantly obvious to those here in Destiny City its safe to assume that you've had some personal experience, am I correct? I mean, since it all seems pretty ******** central to this area."

Gabe nodded in agreement, taking a long sip of his coffee. "Perhaps. But it doesn't feel that way."
A smile appeared on his face, one that definitely fell into the category of "thoroughly mysterious." "Oh, I have," he said. Of course, he couldn't just, well, tell her he was a Negaverse officer, now could he? "More than that, I can't really say. There are some scary people involved in this mess, and I'd hate to have them on my tail."
Like Painite, who for all that she was his General, had a very very very scary spear.

"But isn't that the way of some terrorists? To deflect from their true intentions? Make us believe they want one thing while what they truly want is something completely different? Can you really write it off with just a 'it doesn't feel that way'? What does it feel like then, to you?"
Wrinkling her nose, Vyth took another sip of her coffee. She had a small inkling that there was a lot more that he wasn't telling her now. And god dammit it was hard to have an argument when she couldn't just blatantly out herself as a Senshi. Sigh.
"Well that's shitty." She crossed her arms over her chest before a slow smirk came to her lips once more. Slipping out of her chair, she slid over towards him, not caring if people were watching at all honestly. Moving around to the back of his chair, she slipped her arms over his shoulder. "You can't even tell me a teenie tiny bit? I'd be very much interested in what you've come across. Grateful for the opportunity to hear it from someone as cute as you too." Her lips were close to his ear now, a finger curling a bit of his hair around it at the base of his neck.
