Bad Hair Day?
“I can’t believe this.” Isadora muttered herself as she walked down the corridor of the castle. In her hand was a small mirror and she was looking at her appearance. Her other hand was gingerly pulling at her now cut hair. The Dame Knight was not happy about her new look. It wasn’t suppose to be a shoulder-length hair cut.
I knew I shouldn’t let Serra put me through this. The paladin thought unhappily as she thought back of what happened few hours ago.
The harvest festival was approaching and the Dame Knight was busied trying to make preparations for the festival. Despite that she was no longer a crew in her guild, she wanted to help out the community. She was aware that farmers were gathering the crops to store for the winter. The color of nature were changing its color and the weather was becoming cooler. Though the city of Eyris was ruined from the battle with Sentrians and Mordacheans as well as part of the crops were destroyed or stolen, the festivities would help cheer the citizens.
But just as the paladin was about to leave, she heard someone calling her. Turning her attention, she saw Serra approaching her. It turned out that the Bishop was taking a day off from the infirmary and was catching up what the others were doing. When Isadora informed her what she was going to do today, that was when the Dame Knight made an error. Serra asked her what was she going to wear to the harvest festival and learned that the Paladin didn’t plan to wear something special, the Bishop decided to help her “problem.”
Isadora tried to refuse the offer, but the Bishop didn’t listen as she dragged her along, saying that the Dame Knight need to look beautiful if she was ever to get a man’s attention… Of course, the Paladin had no plan about seeking a relationship now. The first thing they did was shopping for dresses. Isadora frowned at the choices Serra selected the dresses for her. The Bishop’s sense of… fashion were not exactly the same as her sense of dressing. Next was shopping for shoes and jewelries. And just like the dresses, the paladin disagreed with Serra’s choice of fashion. Just when they were finished shopping, Isadora thought they were done. However, she was wrong.
Serra commented that the Paladin needed to change her look, saying that it was out of fashion. But before the Dame Knight could inform her that she liked the way she looked, Serra dragged her to a chair, still ignoring the Paladin’s protest. The Bishop commented that she needed a new hairstyle since her hair was “plain and boring” and needed to be beautiful and stylish. But when Isadora turned around to tell her that she needed no change, Serra had already cut the strand of Isadora’s hairs. Both women froze where they were, staring in shock at the long lock of blue hair in Serra’s hand. The next two hours, the Dame Knight had Tibarn, who somehow was good at styling hair, cutting her hair to match evenly with the cut that Serra made while the Bishop apologized to the Paladin, repeatedly saying that she was trying to trim her hair. Unfortunately, the Bishop trimmed too far from the end of the hair.
Now walking in the streets of Eyris, Isadora still frowned as she continued looking at her new look. Although the Hawk King did an amazing work on her hair, the paladin was still not pleased about it being cut. She liked the way she looked before. Why did she need to change her look? It will take a few years to grow back to what it was before. Isadora thought sighed.
Just as the Dame Knight was about to take a step further, she bumped into someone in front of her.
“Oh! I’m sorry. I wasn’t looking where I was going.” Isadora apologized as she looked down at whom she was bumping. In front of her was a girl with long green ponytail. The Paladin thought the girl was human until she saw pointed ears on either side of the girl’s hair. What sort of species the girl was? She had no idea. What matter was she accidentally bumped into her.
“Here, let me help you.” Isadora spoke as she extended her hand to the girl. The girl took her hand. But when the Dame Knight pulled the girl up, she saw a look of surprise on the girl’s face. Suddenly, the girl wrapped her arms around the Paladin’s waist. She then heard the girl spoke.
“- you! I thought I was the only one alone.” The girl hugged Isadora tightly. She then saw the girl looked up to her. The Paladin could see that the girl was about to cry. “Where’s Brother Marth? Is he here with you?”
Isadora blinked at the girl for a moment. She wasn’t sure what the girl was talking about, but it looked like she was lost. The Paladin replied, “I’m sorry, but who is Marth?”
Instead of waiting for a reply about this Marth person, the Dame Knight saw a look of shock and horror on the girl’s face. It was then that the Paladin learned that the girl’s name was Tiki as well as being mistaken by another person name Midia. Isadora spent the rest of the day trying to explain the dragon girl that she was not who Tiki thought she was despite how similar she looked or acted like Midia.
