Toreth wandered across the shifting sands, sun beaming down on his dark gray coat as he looked around with interest. The heat didn't bother him as much as his brother, who was currently resting in the shade of an oasis until the sun set and travel was made easier. Toreth, who wasn't at all tired and feeling particularly restless, decided he wanted to explore a bit.
It was fascinating. When he pictured deserts he thought of vast exanses of nothing but sand, maybe a small rock or a cactus to break the monotony. He didn't picture oasis' bursting with greenery (rare though they were), occasional mountain ranges (all far off in the distance though), huge pyramid-shaped rocks that he swore couldn't have been made by nature, and, to top it all off, a river!
Of course the river was filled with all sorts of critters and dangerous beasts, more so than they were used to seeing in the water, but that just meant exercising a lot more caution when going down to get a drink.
There was so much....life here!
Toreth's current destination was a tall smudge just off in the distance, in sight of the river but only just. He could have sworn it was a tree. A tree, here in the desert! This place just continued to fascinate him. Of course the closer he got the more he realized the tree (and he was sure that's what it was) was something he'd never seen before, but that just made the place even more fascinating!

Kepi sighed and sat on some tree that occasionally survived in the desert/grassland watching the crocodiles. Considering it had just rained in Kemet rather recently and a thin covering of grass covered the ground she was sure the prey animals would be here soon and that always meant the crocodiles got rather busy. She should probably report it to Horus or something when ever she got back. Lately though she was hanging on the outskirts of the tribe getting away from the different problems.
Well not like there was any problems, just her dad was slightly depressed as her mother had disappeared for a while. It was also very busy and foxes where running around thanks to her aunt and Uncle having children. While the children where fine, some times they could be a bit much. She sighed again and tried closing her eyes. It was way too hot to fall asleep but it did help her think about random things that helped cure a bit of her boredom.
It was about then something caught her attention and she noticed she wasn’t exactly alone.
Well they, that being the stranger, definitely weren’t from around kemet as she knew pretty much everyone in the tribe, perks she supposed of spending her life there, and it wasn’t any part of her family either as they all had distinct markings. The stranger also looked like he was getting closer to her tree. Well she better do her job and see he was friendly if only not to get a lecture from the old man. However she wouldn’t say anything until he actually made some motion of seeing her.

((Aunt had kids? Don't you mean uncle? And they? It's only Toreth XD Kaleth's resting somewhere further away.))
Toreth spotted the vixen easily; that kind of bright red wasn't something common around here! Not that he knew it was a vixen straight off. She was hiding herself well and he only had bits of red to tell him there was something there, and the general size of it. Perhaps he should have felt a bit more cautious about approaching some unknown creature. Instead, he strolled right up to the trunk of the tree and stared up.
That was when he saw that what was in the tree was a vixen of his own kind.
"Ah, hello there," Toreth called up cheerfully, giving the vixen a smile. "You're the first fox I've seen around here. Do you live here, or just passing through?"

(lol They was being used in a general sense instead of a plural sense and my sleepy brain decided well since Lani ai is her aunt and did push out the children XD... I did update it though XD)
Well it looked like the stranger had seen her, not like it surprised Kepi all that much. Some times Kepi decided she hated her colors; after all you couldn’t exactly camouflage yourself up in a tree very well. Ah well she supposed she could be sociable for the day. She was known for occasionally doing things out of the norm, like rescuing drowning kits or actually spending time with Kateri or something like such.
“hmm must be a busy day then if I’m the first fox you’ve seen. Yeah I guess I can say that I live here. I take it you are just passing through? May I ask what brings you out into the desert, its rather a weird place to travel through.” She stated looking his colors over. She at least got a bit of protection from the sun, although not as much as the other Desert tribe Solarie mostly since they worshiped the sun deity.

((lol Alright. I was mildly confuzzled.))
Toreth tilted his head, looking curious. "You guess you can say you live here? Is it supposed to be a secret or something?" The notion wasn't all that strange to him, several foxes were very secretive about where they lived. Must be especially true in the desert; he couldn't imagine there were a whole lot of really good places to live, competition much be pretty high.
"But yea, I'm just passing through with my brother. Gotta admit deserts aren't really our thing, but we like trying to see new places every once in awhile." He looked around, breathing in the air, then looked back up at the female. "I have to admit, aside from the heat it's a surpringly charming place." He winked. "I have to raise my opinion of it a little higher, if such pretty ladies are living here too. My name is Toreth, by the way."

“Well in the sense do I live in this tree, no I dont. Do I live around here? Yes I can say that I do. No, it’s not supposed to be a secret or anything like that” Kepi stated and then figured she should probably use her manners today just because she was trying to do her job for once, and slid down from the tree so she was now eye level with the fox invading her space for the day.
“I suppose it’s good to travel around and see different stuff. Doesn’t really do much to stay all close minded. Plus seeing the world does bring in different view points” Kepi mused. “However if you go a bit more that way be careful since you’ll be in tribe territory” Kepi stated, most of Kemet was friendly expect for lately there had been a bit more sand storms than recently, probably had to be from the tribes not so well known deity visiting more if Horus’s reactions where any clue. Kepi raised an almost quizzical eyebrow at the sudden Pretty lady comment. Her a pretty lady? Well he obviously hadn’t been around her long enough. “Kepi” was what she finally said.

"Oh yea? I've run across the border of a snow tribe, that was certainly interesting. Snow was alright, but I don't think I could have lived in constant cold like they do!" He shook himself, trying to throw off the memory of the cold.
"You part of the tribe, or just a drifter that happens to live in the desert near them," he asked with interest. "Also, lovely name! It suits you." He gave Kepi a grin and a wink.

“No snow would be rather horrible.” Kepi agreed shaking her head in an almost disgust. She didn’t understand how her great Aunt wanted to live on that snowy mountain. Then again Hollow could be a little well weird. At one point in time apparently her old man’s old man had her believing he was an ancient vampire alien or something silly like that.
“You compliment every girl you come across or is the wink just for me hmm?” Kepi asked, she was a bit more hard to please than others. Marius often thought she should have been born a boy, which was ridiculous because she had girly moments every now and then. “you do know it means tempest right?” However she did have to give him credit for trying. She let out a small laugh before thinking about his previous question. "Yeah I'm part of the tribe, born and raised in it"

Toreth just laughed when Kepi called him out. "Well I'm not rude to every female I meet. My brother would call me a flirt, but he says at least I'm not a player," he said, favoring Kepi with a grin and a shrug. "Generally don't come across a whole lot of others when we're traveling, anyway.
But on the subject of your name. It's my belief that a lot of the most amazing sights provided by Mother Nature are a glorious combination of fury and beauty," Toreth said, finished with a cheeky smile and bow.

Kepi nodded and took her answer to he gave the compliments to everyone. “Ah I would be careful then Boy sc-" she trailed off here. "I mean one day you might meet a female that might punch you” She warned. “hmm that might also explain why your flirting skills are a bit rusty” One normally wasn’t too obvious as he was, although it wasn’t really obvious in a bad way.
“Hmm, you should stay around Kemet for a while, you’ll get plenty of Mother Nature trying to kill you.” Kepi stated with a dry smile shifting the comment from her name. She didn’t really think she was a tempest until she was pissed off, but then again she wasn’t other people either and couldn’t guess what they thought, nor did she care all that much.

Toreth grinned, not at all abashed by Kepi's criticism. "Yea, well I'm not really trying very hard right now; I try not to be too obnoxious. If you want me to try harder I can, give you an excuse to exercise that sharp tongue of yours," he said, eyes twinkling with humor.
"Many thanks for the invite, though I get plenty of Mother Nature trying to off me just in wandering. If we weren't alone right now I'd acuse you of trying to lure me off." Yup, he was definitely having fun with this one!

“Luckily for you I don’t feel like using my lovely sharp tongue too much today. Try tomorrow I’ll probably be cranky then” Kepi stated with a yawn. “Not that I’ll be here tomorrow, too many predators and prey animals will probably be swarming around the area.” She stated laying her paw on the small amount of grass.
“If I was dragging you off whether it be for perverted reasons or less than noble fighting reasons I wouldn’t bother luring you off. Luring just isn’t my style.” Kepi stated with a shrug. Well at least he was helping to pass the time.

"So just what is your style," Toreth asked with interest. He didn't want to comment on Kepi's first statement. All he could think to say at the moment would have made him sound like a fool or a stalker, both of which he tried to avoid if possible during a first meeting. Not that it always worked, but never hurt to keep trying.

Kepi smirked and shrugged her shoulders. “Well its more just do it right here after all I don’t really care what others think. It’ll give them a good show or hey they’ll leave if it bothers them. Besides out here all we are going to do is scare the crocodiles.” Kepi pointed out. There was also no real filter on her personality during the first meeting, after all if they where going to like her for some odd reason they would like her.

Toreth chuckled. "Yes, I can see more than one situation where that might cause just a touch of trouble. Depending on your intentions, of course, though I can think of two right off the top of my head that would definitely be something of an inconvenience for the one you cornered and any who might happen to be about, crocodiles aside."
He tilted his head, thinking. "I suppose I'm more of a speak quietly or ask to speak in private kind of person. Except for the two intentions I was thinking earlier, in which case I tend to rile the other up and they usually chase me a good distance," he said with another chuckle.
