THE HAUNTED HOUSE???

The greyed out Amityville leads directly to the Haunted House. For students experiencing the Haunted House for the first time and lucky veterans, the place looked exactly the same as before: an old dilapidated house with hundreds of unending, twisting rooms inside. Outside however, the fog was thick enough to cover every single uneven piece of the ground. Occasionally, the mist would flux, stretch into odd, vague shapes, half a figure, sometimes whole. Most simply stood in one spot, as if waiting for something.

Others however, were hostile. It seemed fine for any students who opted to avoid the actual infrastructure of the Haunted House, but the second they got even marginally, footsteps closer, the greyed figures loomed larger. They shifted, slightly at first, eyes directly locking onto intruders.

And then a single voice, a challenge.

Home.

For those who dared test their bounds, dare intrude upon their supposed goal of home, the fog, the protective figures that made up the entity of the fog viciously lashed out towards. For others who kept their distance, they were however, given no hostility.

And for a few unlucky others still circling the large expanse of the now fog-covered Haunted House, there was something - somethings - else. Someone watching them. Someone following them. And then from the mass -

- A flash of teeth, a loud roar -

- The hollow clack of claws-

- The scrape of thick metal dragging against the ground -

- The unsteady syncopated footsteps of a slowly plodding figure -

- The would encounter something else entirely.



BATTLEGROUNDS META REDUX

The BATTLEGROUNDS area (Haunted House) is an area where students and hunters can ICly fight with each other: this is great in creating character plot, and tension between the two factions. See below for more information. Hunters will not be using golems as this occurs in the "grey area" between the Human World and Halloween (unlike visits to Halloween/spying).

Due to the status effect the battlegrounds are currently covered in fog. Hunters can still access the battlegrounds through the portal, and now, and all over Amityville, rampant white spots occasionally occur, where an entire section of a hallway, a half-used class, even the washroom, is covered in nothing but white fog. Stepping into it will lead students directly into the battlegrounds/ this Haunted House setting. Again, please read above for details.



OOC: HAUNTED HOUSE BATTLEGROUNDS INFORMATION

HOW DOES THIS WORK? IF YOU ARE A STUDENT.

- If you are a student you may RP normally, unluckily chancing upon the fog-surrounded Haunted House: you may even encounter Hunters OR Horsemen you see. The only status effect you feel is a strange sense of trepidation, and an odd growing feeling of emptiness. You feel despite everything, slightly alone, abandoned. Where is everyone going? Why are you here? The sense of unfulfillment continues to linger.
- PVP mechanics carry out as normal, with a small twist. Mark your thread with a [!] if you would like a surprise boss mob to show up in your thread. This could ICly happen at ANY POINT just from having your student show up at the Haunted House at this critical point. If you do not mark your thread with a [!], it is just courtesy to tell those with boss mobs that you are not ready yet to have a boss encounter.
- Bosses work the same way as regular PVP mechanics but they each have elevated HP and attack.
- Same mechanics as before, max of 3 vs 3, or 6 vs a boss, or free for all you know, that's possible too. Max occupancy for any thread is 7 (including a boss or two, max of two bosses please).
- You can be in more than one pvp thread at at time oocly that's fine, just make sure you work out the timeline icly with others!
- Once again, this only happens in the HAUNTED HOUSE so, if you are looking for a battle/ for this effect, simply write a PVP in THIS SUBFORUM ONLY. Insanity is not in the regular part of the guild/ regular part of Amityville/ contained in the HH area only.


HOW DOES THIS WORK? IF YOU ARE A HUNTER.

- IF YOU ARE A HUNTER you may come back to the Haunted House, perhaps to research on what has happened, though the air remains quiet, still...
- After that make your way to the HH, and read the same mechanics as students (see above). Same mechanics for encountering bosses as students (read above)

HOW DOES THIS WORK? IF YOU ARE A HORSEMAN.

- If you are a horsemen, something calls you here, but what is it?
- After that make your way to the HH, and read the same mechanics as students (see above). Same mechanics for encountering bosses as well, you are free to PVP with Halloween/ Hunters as you please (read student section for full rules)


HOW DO I START BATTLING/ MAKING A BATTLE THREAD


gaia_crown [ General Rules: ]
- At the very first post anyone makes, get the first person to roll a 6-sided dice. Match their roll to the result below. This is the STATUS EFFECT IN THAT AREA. The Haunted House is sealed shut and the figures loom outside prevent anyone from going in, right now, players can only wander around the outside of the HH building.
- All rolls now also come with a MINOR STATUS EFFECT, THIS TAKES PLACE FOR THE ENTIRE DURATION OF THE THREAD BATTLE TO ALL PLAYERS, INCLUDING BOSSES

gaia_crown [ Effects for the entire duration of battle (thread): ]
Rolling a 1: ALL DAMAGE IS MULTIPLIED BY 2, but you CANNOT USE FEAR/ CHARGED ATTACKS. You feel slightly dizzy, everything around you flickers to greys.
Rolling a 2: ALL DAMAGE DONE BACKFIRES ON THE CHARACTERS THEMSELVES (ie if you do 6 damage to the opponent, you take 6 damage). All your log seems to take second place as a voice calls to you, vague, agitating. It pressures you to attack relentlessly, brashly, without caring about your own wounds or damage done to your allies.
Rolling a 3: ALL DAMAGE HAS NO MODIFIER (ie: you don't need to subtract -6 ). You feel something brush against you, unsettling as it literally envelops you in a blanket of cold. You feel stronger but more distant, as if the battle around you is happening to someone else...
Rolling a 4: NO HEALING IS ALLOWED IN BATTLE. Someone is whispering to you about something, but you can't place out what, it is hard to focus. Everything distracts you, even the tiniest flash of light or flicker of movement.
Rolling a 5: ALL PLAYERS AT ANY POINT CAN FORFEIT THEIR ATTACK TO ROLL 2d12. If you roll odd, you do this damage to your opponent. If you roll even, you do this damage to YOURSELF - no modifier, you can ONLY DO THIS ONCE. You feel an uneasy unsettling feeling, as if something is coming, but you can't place what or when.
Rolling a 6: ALL STUDENT/ HUNTER HP IS HALVED. You feel tired.... cold...numb. It becomes increasingly hard to focus as the battle draws on.
- Post your battlegrounds thread in this subforum, simple title it as your wish and write it as [HAUNTED HOUSE] [1 VS 1] NAME HERE (or however versus people you want up to 3 vs 3)



INSANITY BOSS MOBS

As you fall, a slow chill overtakes you, everything blurs and seems distant as only one sensation overwhelms you entirely. Nothing else matters but the need to go Home.


gaia_crown [ What if my character dissipates.... ]:
- If your character dissipates, roll a 100-sided dice. If you roll under 25, you reform incomplete, the fog overwhelms you, and you return as a temporary Insanity Boss Mob. If you are a HORSEMEN you have light immunity granted by Medea, so you only turn into an Insanity Boss Mob if you roll under 10. You literally can continue to dissipate and reform repeatedly until you become one (choice is up to you).
- If you are a HORSEMEN WITH INSANITY, if you roll under 50, you turn into a boss mob, good job. Now others have to put you out of your misery.
- As an Insanity Boss Mob, you have exactly 60/60 HP. You can attack up to 2 other targets. Roll 2d12- 6. No Fear damage, you only do melee. You cannot differentiate friend from foe and attack regardless, the only thing you hear echoing in your head is the word Home. Everything else is greyed out.
- You have now become the boss in YOUR THREAD ONLY (the thread where you got dissipated).
- If you hit 0 HP you DISSIPATE, and there is a 2 hour ooc cooldown before you can attack again. Please only invade one thread at a time unless your thread you are in is inactive for longer than 2 OOC hours then you can choose to WITHDRAW from that thread.
- After your character is defeated as an Insanity mob, they return back to normal, or if 48 OOC hours have passed.
- A battle thread can have a MAX of two mobs at a time, but make sure as a mob you coordinate with the other mob players
- Insanity mobs CANNOT interact with each other very well. There is no reason for them to!
- This can only happen to students or horsemen, Hunters at this point cannot be Insanity mobbed sorry!
- A default insanity mob image has been provided below: if players wish to use their own that is fine! Just make sure to keep the image GREY with EITHER yellow OR blue eyes. It must look like the character either natural form or humanoid one, please don't give them features (other than a disappearing fog-like look) that they don't already have.
