This water was all wrong. Dendro hadn't been in the ocean for quite some time, months if not a year or more, and the salty water felt all wrong to him. He was far too used to the freshwater found further inland, especially his small pond home which he had left to make some journey, whose purpose he had now forgotten. Soon he would return, for he wasn't sure how long he could trust Prism to keep his home safe from invaders. But that fact was he needed to be int he water from time to time and so he had taken advantage of the ocean where he had stayed the last few days.
One nice thing compared to his small pond of a home was the immense size of the ocean. He could spend his entire life here and never see all of it. Whereas his pond was small and took only moments to cover every inch of it. Here there was endless water, plenty of plants to eat, interesting growths of coral and a huge variety of sea creatures. It was almost a homely feeling, if it weren't for the unfamiliarity of the salt on his skin and the thought that even though there was plenty of space he wasn't actually alone. Shaking his head Dendro propelled himself deeper using his strong tail. The gurgling sound of bubbles floating past his good ear filled his sense, and reminded him of his disadvantages of being under the water. Water distorted sounds and it was hard enough to hear under normal circumstances to begin with. Reaching the bottom Dendro found himself near a large amount of kelp, he should eat but he was still adjusting to being this deep and held off for now.
