Subito was standing straight in a small rock formation, drying his wet coat under the warm light of the sun. He had taken a long bath and properly cleaned himself after spending most of the morning collected nuts, seed and grass blades. He had also found a few pretty flowers and made a crown with them – well, he’d made one acceptable crown of flowers but the remains of his previous attempts were all around him. There was something he needed to do and he was gathering the courage to do it, as if the warmth of the sun could somehow sip into his core and give him that one final push in the right direction.

 A speedy recovery. Laughter WAS the best medicine! The hare was up and around before they knew it. Nothing could keep her down for TOO long.. Except an angry badger whom kept rushing her back to bed when she would push herself too much, But honestly, Subito and herself needed those few weeks together. It was nice, having him help her around and listening to him instead of her being a barking mother. She was doing the following this time. The simple things, she finally was able to relax.. but still. Some things were on her mind. She still needed to celebrate her first litters birthday..
Even if they .. were gone.
But Subito had left early this morning, it wouldn't have been such a big deal.. if she hadn't been alone up until today. So- the busy mother bee was forcing herself to keep focus, and to not think about how lonely it was.. The puppies had gone with her wilddog daughter to her daughter's old pack with her mate.. and of course, the badger had left with them. Aiolos- was gone, and his two kids too. One flew off for her own life. Aether, on the other paw was found by a lioness when he had gotten lost not too long ago, and just today did they finally decide to travel together.
She had packed them lunch for their travels while Subito was away. Holding up her basket to the lioness's maw. "Ok- you make sure to promise he is kept safe. If I hear anythin' bad- I'll come after yea!" Softly laughing as she gave a finally kiss to Aether's feathery forehead. "Don't be scared.. Follow the stars if you get lost, I'll always be here.. whenever you need me..." Waving Then slowly the bird bowed his head and quickly started to climb up the lioness's leg and they were off.
A heavy sigh settled in her chest as she recalled the parting of her beloved crazed bird child.. He was the last one in the den.. and the loneliness started to take over. Once the whole den was clean, it was hard to think about anything else.. She was now REALLY missing Subito.. Looking around the large den that housed predators of all kinds now. Even a lioness! Was it... her time to move on like she did so many times before? The thought sank in her heart- and she shook her head. "Nope.. This ... is home." Looking up at the ceiling of dirt and wood. Holding a makeshift broom in her paws as she dazed off... Still sporting her bandages on the side of her stomach.
"But home.. is where the heart is.." Flash backs of the weeks she and subito have been inseperatable because of her injuries.. was .. he the reason why she didn't want to pack her things and leave anymore? Even if the rest had?
She would have to be sure. Putting her broom away and taking off her apron ( a rare sight without it! ) and put it down before making her way out to find Subito.. Now, out of following her heart and not even realizing that she was letting her feet take her. Her mind did not fully catch up to why she was doing this but.. she just.. needed to see him.

Subito took a deep breath, finally convinced that his coat was perfectly dry. He crushed a few flowers petals in his paws and then rubbed the colorful substance on his neck and back. Everything was perfect now. He was clean and smelled nice. The den was empty of spectators which he considered a good thing today. Subito knew he was going to miss the large crowd that had gathered under the care of Amelie but they had their lives to live and he was very fond of the idea of living alone with her... if she’d have him, of course.
“Alright!” he said quite loudly, trying to give himself a bit of encouragement. Many things had been left unsaid while Amelie had been recovering but the time they’d spent together meant something. He just hoped she felt the same. The hare turned and started to hop happily towards their home and almost bumped into the exact hare he was looking for.
“Amelie!” he exclaimed, startled. Things were never as easy when as they seemed from a safe distance and now the he was face to face with her, the idea of pouring all his feelings into words was suddenly not a great idea. “Umh… is everyone gone now? Were you coming to see me?” Oh, what was he saying? He was the one who wanted to talk to her!

That silly hare she was looking for. When bumped in to, she took a step back and smiled widely. That didn't take too long! She'd imagen he was further off.. for how long he stayed out. Rubbing her stomach as if she had the apron on, the nervous reaction sinking in. "Um.." The fearless hare was stumped on words for the moment.. drawing back and putting on a thinking face with the added blush. These .... butterflies were taking her for a ride..
"Just worried and all.. yea kno' just being me deary." Patting her stomach fur down. "Everyone's gone.. Aether.. and that lioness.. I don't know exactly what I'm going to do without him. Seems so empty now." Which she wasn't used to... they had lived there for SO long- with so many predators.. that it didn't feel quite the same. "I... I DIDN"T EVEN LEAVE DINNER FOR US!? Flailing and her nerves bursts in an instant and she started running around in her head... physically she was only pulling on her ears.. "She was a lioness!? She is big! She needed it! OMGFISHGOODNESS! AAHHHH!!!!!" The outburst was startling to her even, but likewise her whole brain was blown.
.... Emotions, so troublesome.

“Yeah, yeah, she needed it!” Subito agreed quickly, visibly startled by the sudden outburst. “It’s okay we can… we can find more… umh… now.” He looked a little lost for a moment but took one step closer to Amelie, one paw gently pushing hers down so she wouldn't keep pulling her ears.
“We can find some flowers and things to put there… so it won’t feel so empty. There’s still the two of us there, right?” Oh, this was such a roundabout way to tell her of his hopes. The badger would’ve smacked him in the head if he heard him now. Funny how fighting a wild dog suddenly didn’t seem so hard anymore. “Cause, well… you see…” his throat was suddenly dry and he made a little gasping sound, looking embarrassed.

Her breathing went from calm to long roughs of air... It seemed she was in such a dizzy that this was all just making her all kinds of disfunctional. When he moved one paw, she securely held her other ear down with a pull so immense that it made it numb.
"Now? Now!? But preparing it~ and .. fixing it and distributing and..wait.." Then brought on the calming sad truths. They were gone. Her heart sank and she gulped hard to turn to him with a huge smile on her face. Still holding her ear. "Well that is true. A home is a home. Our home. Is where the heart is so we should never leave it. Because thats where the heart is." Rambling, which was all the nerves coming out- because likewise she had never had to face emotions, because everyone was never a romantic interest. But he was. Why was this so difficult! Then she centered in front of him using chopping hand signals.
v (( The following is her rambling and explaining like a run on sentence without any pauses what so ever. Also hinting on her insecurities within herself. This is a case of nerves that makes her speak really quickly. )) v
"Home is ours therefore we have to take care of it- not leave it because leaving is abandoning and abandoning shouldn't ever be done. Because what if everyone comes back one day, or needs us or something because you know that time when you needed a home- this was your home. Because I just don't want to leave it. Because I always just left and I don't want to anymore because I feel like its home and I don't want to leave it because even if its empty now we can still be there and it won't be so empty anymore. Because your there. So its still home and I don't want to leave. Don't leave me."
Then gasping and putting her free paw on her cheek. Which the nerves even got her to sweat it was so stressful for the poor hare.
"Oh! Oh dear- I rambled~ Im so sorry~ wha-what was it you were going to say?" Finally realizing she had interrupted him and closing in the gap between them and looking up at him with her nose almost touching his chin curiously, she was flushed but under all this mess of emotions she was still Amelie- and boy did she have a thing for prying.

Subito gave up quickly on trying to get a word in as Amelie was talking so fast that he was certain that the only way he’d get her attention would by screaming and shaking her and he was obviously unwilling to do both. He felt a shiver when she held his paw but he did not want her to let it go and he waited until she had let out a bit f steam in the form of words. His playful streak was starting to enjoy watching fret – over him, he hoped – and the hare grew in confidence.
“Yes.” He started before he realized that his answer didn’t make much sense. “I mean, you’re right. That’s our home. I’m not leaving you. Ever.” And now he looked at her intensely because her next few words would determine his fate.

Yep, her one ear was numbed out which pulled her head back just slightly to make her eyes bulged out .... oddly enough that it... looked cute. In some weird way. Yes?... He had done this before.. then she chuckled slightly.. He was..adorable. In his own way.. But the words that came out of his mouth next made all her anxiety, stress, rambling and all that go away.. and made her calm almost instantly..
She didn't know what to say, but those words was what she needed- and she dived in to his arms and clung to him tightly. Snuggling her face in his neck and cheek area.. "I was just.. so lonely.. Im sorry- Im selfish.. just please.. don't ever leave me..Please stay true to your word and I promise to not let my feet wonder.. if they do.. its only because I want you to follow." She couldn't bare looking in to his eyes.. This confession, let out all of her doubts. Even if he rejected her now, all her cards would be on the table. At least that's how she saw it. She was fearless- but feared this singled thing. Feared how much she depended on him.. everything she did- she did alone. She was a strong hare! This.. made her weak and a mess..
Going on her toes to whisper in his ear.
"I..think.. I know..I..." She gulped hard..."....love you..."

Subito sighed quietly, holding Amelie tightly in his paws. She surprised him by jumping to his arms but that had a very favorable answer to hi words so he couldn’t really say he minded it. He could barely put his relief and happiness into words as he confirmed she felt the same way about him. It’s was just the two of them now and apparently she just as happy with that as Subito was.
“I’ll never leave you. Never, never, never!” he told her with a happy grin, holding her close for a few moments until he suddenly pushed her back a little. “I’m sorry, I was so excited. I didn’t quite get what you said. That last bit.”

Sighing, and for a moment, just stayed in his arms to gather back the mess she made of herself. An Amelie smile came through, a genuine one when he continued to assure himself of his place beside her.. Maybe that's why she loved him so, no everything about him was the why. Then she found herself starring and blushed before grabbing his neck and rubbed her paws in to his cheeks. "I said..." Slowly rubbing her nose against his. Soaking in his sight for again the realization of all this and pulled him in to a kiss finally showed... With passion that had kindled and harbored for so long. After a long drawn out moment, so tender, genuine, and care... She pulled away and blinked feminely.. happy.
"Silly...I..Love you.. Subito. All this time.. I didnt know.. Didnt want to hold you back.."
Pulling his face close again. "Never leave my side?..Imma hold you to that you know." Winking at him as she pulled him in to a playful hug.. Laughing as if the ice was finally broken! Like all the tension was just released and she could fully 'enjoy' being.... in love.. From all the stress and sadness he put a smile on her face still and that meant more then words could express. But then a long blank pause erased her of emotions for a moment.. A sudden realization..
"........OMGISH I LEFT THE SEA SALT IN THE BERRIES IN THE SUN!? I-I HAVE TO GO! MEET YOU AT THE DEN!" As she slipped away and dashed off as if running for her life back home.. They would be raisens by now! Shriveled and un-usable! Here she thought she was going to make something special!

Subito sighed, letting go of all tension and worry with one long sigh, releasing himself fully to that tender moment. He looked a little funny after the kiss, with a youthful silly grin plastered on his face that clearly said he hadn’t been expecting it but he was obviously not against it in the slightest.
“You can hold me any way you want.” Subito whispered during their hug, a hint of honey to his voice. Words could not express the level of happiness he was feeling right now. And then…
“Wait, what? Berries?” Confused, Subito ran after the other hare with little amused grin. “Wait for me!”- Fin -
