Oota had lowered her weight into the water and now perched in a kneel with the liquid up to her neck. She felt safe, this was within her comfort zone, she'd become used to the water splashing and lapping at her even near the eyes and ears. During her training she'd come to realise those where two of the harder places, at first it felt so wrong but enduring it a number of times she managed to relax herself. She could feel where her wings where in the water, how heavy and different there weight was, it was strange she had yet to truly use them to fly she was far more interested in what was beneath her rather than above.
Then slowly and precisely Oota lowered her head down until all but the upper part of her horns where submerged. Her breath was held but still her mouth formed into a smile as she peered around under the water taking in all the plants most day walkers would never see. Staying that way she was content to just have a small peek into the world her body lay in until she knew the familiar tug that meant it was time to re surface for air.
Doing so she flicker her mane back in glee, she'd get air... and then she'd go again, then she'd go further and paddle. There was no rush today, a new body of water, she'd already met a sort of sister and apparently she was in the moonlight herd. Just another day for Oota then!

Underneath the water, too far away and in the deep end to see the white coat beckoning like a lighthouse in the darkness was Deneb, snaking his way slowly towards the shoreline. His front hooves made the motion of walking on the floor of the bed of water, his turquoise eyes lifted toward the sun reflected on the water above. Much prettier below the surface then the glowing ball of fire it was above. Below it shimmered, like the soft silk he had seen draped across some Stars. Elegant and mysterious.
What the attraction was to a giant ball of fire, he would never understand. It dried the water on his skin and made him uncomfortable. Water was cooling. Comfortable. And you weren't afraid of bursting into flames when you were in water. There was the fear of drowning, but most animals could swim anyway.
The white stallion poked his head above the surface as he neared the shore, glancing around at the earth for any sights of his family. It would seem he picked the wrong end to come up to, for he couldn't see any of the familiar colors of his mother or sisters. Or anyone else, for that matter.
Easing himself up to stand on his front legs, Deneb lowered his head back and opened his mouth wide.
"Sadira! Come here!"

Everything had happened and Deneb had gone by her with her being totally unaware. Oota was in a calm, happy place having just came back up again for air and instantly feeling the sun beams hit her. It was just then as the water trickled from her ears and down the sides of her face than she heard the call. An familiar voice in unfamiliar land but wait, she froze and did just that, wait but there was no other sound. Had the mention of him caused her to start hearing things? No she knew that voice and it's call had been very real!
Shifting her weight in the water she slowly turned herself to she could see the blur, the cream shaped mystery with metal catching the sun. Surely her eyes and ears would not both play tricks and before she even had a moment to consider it Oota had already began moving her way towards him. It was almost as if her body had a mind of it's own... well duh it did hers, but without her knowledge it was acting before she even had the time to process everything.
Before she knew it she was dried from the water yet moist with sweat at the effect or reaching him. However she carried on, this time lowering herself down to try and dunk as much of her surface to gain the cool refreshing sensation that only the water could give her. Then she found herself right behind him and smiling, she'd dreamt of seeing him again and now it was here what would she "Well I'm not Sadira but I most certainly am here!" do.... There her body went again, why wasn't it giving her enough time to think about things before doing them?

Deneb was still hunting the shore, a growing frown appearing on his face, when the voice came behind him. He hadn't expected anyone to come from behind him while he still stayed in the water. Far as he knew, he was still the only Nova around these parts. At least he hadn't encountered any more than his previous count of zero.
So it went without saying that the voice gave him quite the fright. Jumping, the Nova lost his footing on the slipping slope, splashing back down to the water he still stayed half in. As it wasn't very deep, he didn't get down very far. His hooves hit the bottom of the water, bending a little as the rest of his weight came down before he could catch himself from completely submerging. Had the mare behind him been able to see his expression, she would have likely broken out into giggles. The eyes inherited from his mother were gone as wide as they could go, with his mouth hanging open to draw in the quick breaths his beating heart required.
It was unfortunate for him he still had water in his ear and hadn't heard the mare's approach. With his ordeal over, he shook his head to clear the obstructions, turning his head around to see who it was, ears pricking forward. A very pretty mare with prettier green eyes stared back at him with an enthusiasm he wasn't accustomed to. But one that was vaguely familiar.
Turning fully around, the stallion closed his mouth and squinted his eyes, like a being who had lost their sight and couldn't see things clearly.
At length, his turquoise eyes went back to normal and he nodded his head as if he was agreeing with something only he could hear.
"I remember you. The little filly from Dreamer's Glass who isn't so little anymore."

As the whole ordeal occurred Oota found herself blinking as she watched not really catching everything what with it happening so fast and there also being parts that happened under water. As soon as she considered poking her head under he had already resurfaced and then he was turning to look at her. She felt like she was suddenly in a spotlight, not uncomfortable like in headlights but that with his attention on her it made her feel good.
At the squinting she felt the need to turn for him, just to make sure he remembered her, maybe a good look would help? Slowly and carefully she manoeuvred her hooves in the water making sure to account for the density that pushed against her. She was glad to have practised these basics, even this was such a big step from the first time they met, and oh how she had so much more to show him!
Oota had gotten about half way round when he nodded, her head just coming round to see it, and something inside her melted, another strange feeling but this time she knew it was because his nod to her meant approval of some sort. Then she sped up to complete her little circle to come back to face him with her enthusiastic smile, beaming like a beacon just to be here in his presence again.
"Thats right! And your just like I remember." And the wistful look in Oota's eyes said that to her that was a good thing "I hear this is your herd? Unless there is another water horse with metal that sparkles in the sunlight and a horn?" At that she chuckled to herself, she doubted there was another, he was special and her meeting with her sort of sibling had left her with a feeling that he was just as unique as she had thought.

"Easily frightened?" Deneb attempted to joke, remembering how she had sneaked up on him that day, as well. And how he had fallen back into the water, much as he had just than. It made him frown and sigh heavily, feeling his face flush with the embarrassment of the memory. He bet his mother and sister didn't allow themselves to look silly. They were always so beautiful and graceful, with a touch of mystery to both to add to their charms. Or intimidation, in the case of his mother. Whether she meant to or not, her standing in the herd and being an Elder always made Deneb feel such a youngster beside her. Like he would never be her equal. Especially if he continued to carry on like this.
The stallion settled himself in the water, laying his hooves flat against the bottom to give his body something to steady it against the waves. He shook his head to her last question, forming the word no with his mouth before answering.
"I apparently look a lot like my father, but he doesn't have a horn nor live here. And my sisters walk the earth. So nope. Just me." Shifting his weight, Deneb swam around her so he was in the deeper end, a much more comfortable spot for one made for the water. It also gave him the option of watching the shores for any signs of his sister. She must have heard that shout. Unless she had been spirited away from the herd. This he hoped not.
"It is indeed. I didn't...Mention that last time, did I? I'm afraid I get distracted. I am Deneb."

There was a wash of relief when he moved further into the water with her. She was a land walker and it was even to hot for her, she could imagine being a creature of the cool waters how bad it must be for him. Taking a few steps forward where the shore gave way into the water so she could stand with the water much higher on her body she accidentally splashed him with a small spray of water without realizing.
"Just you, Deneb the unique water horse" As she said the words her lips curled into a beaming smile, it sounded so right. "Apparently I'm not so great at giving my name either, I'm Oota, you already know where I'm from." She either seemed completely disinterested or didn't hear the mention of his father and the insinuation that he to was a water horse. He wasn't HER water horse so it wouldn't of mattered to her, Deneb was the special one in her eyes, to this day she had still not met another.

"Well, I wouldn't say unique," Deneb answered modestly, knowing the word 'unique' to usually mean something special. Not like anything else. This did describe him, but not in a special way. He always felt different than his family. Not only in the sense he had a totally different lower half. It was also in the way he carried himself. His sister, half brother, and mother all held themselves nobly. They would be at home as the adopted members of a royal family. They would easily attract the affections of the populace. He, on the other hand? He had no mystery. He could barely even keep a secret without blabbing about it and not realizing he was. He was clumsy on land and always seemed to be making a fool of himself. Such as letting himself be frightened far too easily.
"Alright, Oota. I seem to remember I promised something to you before. Shall we?" In an attempt to not sound so silly, Deneb changed his tone of voice at the question to make it sound personal. Like he was inviting her to dance. In a way, he supposed he was. Swimming took a certain amount of grace as dancing did.

Blinking at him as if he just said something that made sense she said in the most honest and matter of fact voice "You are to me." And without elaborated any more she swiftly and elegantly moved on conversation wise.
"You did!" Her tone was back to his usual glee filled tone and gently she balanced her weight in the water, let the breeze flow under her wings and started forward. She'd practised and Oota felt comfortable with this, today she felt like a pupil being watched by a master as she made her way to him, in his domain. During the small journey the depth altered so that she could not walk on the water bed and instead she thanked her paddling practises as she glided in the water at him, creating a rippled stream behind her.
"I did what you said, I practised and I pushed myself I'm never going to be as good as you but I tried!" The mare seemed so proud of herself, yet was fully aware and had acknowledged that no matter what he would remain the master of the water. Oddly enough though this made her sad that she would never fully know the wonders of the depths bellow her she was accepting that he was made for this, he would always be superior in the water.

At the compliment, Deneb ducked underneath the waves, feeling the embarrassment so great as to disallow himself to look upon her without getting flustered. He stayed near enough the surface he could be seen beneath the translucent waters, an obvious white shape too large to be a fish. He didn't like hiding from her, but this was strange for him. Living in the water and exploring the rivers when he wasn't with his family made him more socially awkward than he would have liked. To make himself feel better about it, he told himself at least he hadn't gone far. He hadn't run away from the comfortableness of it. In fact, the urge to run wasn't there. That would be rude. This mare had been nothing but pleasant to him.
At least down here he could also note how well she was doing. Not that he was surprised she was doing fine. Most animals on land had the natural ability to swim. They just had to discover it.
From below, he could hear her words. Muffled, but hear them. He popped his head back up, all the while continuing to circle, giving her a wide berth so they didn't entangle.
"Not unless you grow fins," Deneb agreed honestly, smiling sweetly. "Just like I'll never do more than shuffle on land without four legs. But you're doing fine. I see the deep water does not scare you."

With his prompt duck under the water she could only guess at is being completely normal behaviour. It was very hot and he'd need to keep cool and wet, plus maybe he was watching her? It was exhilarating! The water horse... Deneb he remembered her and the moment she'd dreamed of for so long was finally happening. Throughout all her training and practise she had always held his voice and their first meeting in mind and focused on it to stay motivated.
Oota too was not terribly socially aware, she didn't have a single friend to her name, the bright and happy mare had never really sought them out. With being part of such a large herd and even a princess herself it would come as a shock to most to learn she didn't interact with them. Seeing her mother in passing she'd greet... if she wasn't distracted and the twins that where her full blooded siblings amused themselves. She would have no clue about what was right or wrong, only what was right or wrong to her, what was amusing, which most things where, and what bored her.
With a shake of her head she confirmed that nothing about water scared her, the deeper the better! The only new part of today was that there was another body in the water with her, did she have to do something special or adjust for his presence?
"When you can fly I'll grow fins!" She chuckled, having the mental image of him soaring through the skies and herself with gills and fins. "Nothing scary about water, just mystery! Like... what's all the plants called down there?" She tilted her head at him before taking a deep breath and ducking under the water, paddling on the spot. Her little feather was floating gracefully with the calm current of the liquid as she raised a hoof to point at the closest plant life.

Deneb straightened up, his body from the middle of his neck down underneath the coolness of the water's surface. He floated before Oota, giving her more space than before to make up for his tail now between them as he propelled himself from colliding with her.
Fly...He would so dearly love to fly. The sky looked just as beautiful and wide as the waters of his home did. But he had not been graced with wings. Provided the water on said non-existent wings wouldn't hinder his ability to fly. He had never seen a flying Nova before in order to ask them. Were their feathers no different than a songbirds or were they coated to allow for both swimming and flying soon after? It haunted him with curiosity to know.
The Nova merely nodded at her, thinking a lack of fear of water was a good thing. As well as a bad thing, if that made the individual reckless. Not knowing Oota very well, he couldn't say if she was one of those reckless beings. She seemed to have the potential for one. But then she could have merely had lots of practice in the water to scare away any fear of it she might have developed.
At her question, Deneb pulled over to her side in case he fell behind, ducking his entire body under the water. "Kelp. Out in the ocean I'm told there is more colorful underwater plants called Coral. In all colors, even pink."

As they were both under the water she couldn't reply, another gift the water horse had whereas she was required to hold her breath just to peek into his world. Oota could however nod as her hoof shifted around to another plant, small white petals to house a tiny yellow middle, each one seemed to have a leaf shaped as an arrow around it giving it an interesting overall look. ( Arrowhead). There were so many different shapes and sizes of green plants down here, she knew she was limited to air and would have to resurface but even learning a few of the names would satisfy her curiosity for now. It felt... nice. Just being here.. sharing another's company. It was an experience she had only really shared with Deneb, other encounters she'd been too focused on her desire to concur the waters to engage completely. With him her desires aligned with his life style, was this boring for him? Was watching her progress and naming plants a mundane task for a star whom it was his life. Or did he enjoy her company too? Oota hoped he did, she hoped she wasn't wasting his time and that she may even be the only land walker interested in his world. Pushing her weight forward she swam fully under the water to get a closer look at the mystery plant, she hadn't gone up for air yet but she knew her limit. She had another minute she reckoned before she'd have to fill her lungs again she was eager that was for sure but a life dedicated to learning and bettering herself in the water allowed her to know her body within it. Many had seen her, watched her or completely ignored her, some told her she was wasting her time but in this moment with him she firmly felt her dedication had paid off.
