User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. How had this happened? The deep brown buck thought as he lay, slowly drowning in his own blood. Slowly dimming eyes stared hard, straining upward into the face of his heir, his son, his murderer.

The argument had been fierce, the two sides, his son's and his own, had gone from controlled to lashing. Over what? Control, of course. Power. The right to lead the followers blindly into only the MotherFather knows what. Swirling in the Mists had known exactly the type of leader his son would be; vile, dictative, cruel. He would never allow it.

And at his denial, The Salt in Your Wounds pounced upon his father with out a second thought.

The sharpness of fangs, the strength of solid hooves, the tearing of horn in flesh left the base of the prayer tree ragged, defiled. Bloodied clumps of fur littered the sacred ground. Blood, mostly his own, splattered against the roots of their beloved Prayer Tree. Haze had limped, both his foreleg and hind leg broken by his sons terrible hooves, to the sanctuary beneath its roots.

To where he lay now, dying in his own blood as his demon of a son peers down at him, smiling at him with his own blood on his teeth.

There was no point in fighting.

The demon had won.

As Haze began to slip under, his last words bubbled out.

'Forgive me MotherFather, for I have sinned.'

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The Salt in Your Wounds stood above his prey, panting heavily through grinning jaws. His glowing white eyes were wide with excitement as his father's blood swam over his tongue. Finally, power would be his.

To think, all he'd had to do this entire time was simply take it.

Trembling with energy, Sting laughed as he watch his father's squirming slowly ebb, a laugh that started as a mere chuckle before quickly escalating to something more maniacal, evil even.

With a grin fit for a devil, the grey buck placed his heavy, blood-stained hoof on his father's throat, feeling the vibrations as the brown buck spoke his last words, then paused.

"You should have given me what I wanted. This is your own fault."

And with that said, Sting brought down the hoof, silencing his father forever with a sickening crunch that only made the buck laugh more.

Click to show. The rainbow doe stood utterly still, her eyes wide and locked on the ever staring orbs of her life-mate as her son delivered the death blow. At first, she felt nothing, as the shock settled in. The stillness was quickly purged and devastating anger flooded in.

"No..." She murmured, dropping the herbs she'd been gathering for the upcoming rite.

Adrenaline pulsed through her veins, her hooves began to move. She charged, throwing her son off her lover's body, flinging him away. Mirage lay over her mate protectively, nudging him with her nose before baring her fangs at Sting. She spoke so coldly, no one dared approach.

"What have you done? Murderer... Demon!" Her curses trembled as tears welled in her eyes, "You... You are not my son. Just some horrible creature that took his place! Get out! Leave! Never return. For if I ever see you again, I will tear out your throat with my teeth!"

"No? I am the leader of this Tribe, and you dare to tell me no?!" Sting growled, raising his head and baring his fangs in a snarl.

He approached, despite his mother's warning growls, and stood, looming over her, "Do not make me hurt you too, mother."

He really had no desire to harm the rainbow doe. He admired her icy demeanor, her ability to manipulate those around her. In fact, Sting nearly though her to be a secondary image of himself, though not nearly as perfect as his twin. She wasn't using her gifts correctly, he thought. Still, it would be a great loss to have to remove her from the game as he had his father.

And as her son took his stance above her, she lunged from her lover's body. Fangs snapped together sharply and the taste of blood filled her mouth as she locked her jaws around Sting's throat. She'd missed the vital vein, meaning her attack as one last warning, and when she withdrew, she spat his own blood in his murderous face.

"You are the leader of nothing" She hissed viciously, "Get out! Now!" Her voice held no love, no regret, just a hatred so deep there was no holding it back.

A blinding pain hit him hard and when his vision had cleared, he felt hot, sticky blood dripping steadily from his throat and face. Had she...? Had his own mother really and truly attacked him? The white doe was not going to step down and he was worn out from his first fight to do battle again.

He clamored to his hooves, he would retreat, for now. As he backed away, he opened his mouth to threaten his mother with his return, but words came out as odd sounds. Startled by his inability to speak and getting woosy from the blood he was losing, The Salt in Your Wounds turned tail and fled into the swamp.

She stood there for a few long moments, her mind spinning so badly it pulsed beneath her skull. Finally, she turned back to her mate, her lover and slowly approached his body. Gently, she lowered herself to the grass where the two of them had rested, eating flowers on the night before their Tribe had begun. Where she had rested, belly swollen with murderous kits, while he built a home for them. Tears were falling heavily now and she buried her face into his fur.

"What am I going to do without you?"
